Mera's Story
Esmeralda Blossom, or Mera to her friends, was born in the town of Cogwheel. She, like all the young unicorns in her village, was taught the strict rules and application of magic. Despite growing up in the technological center of Equestria, she looked for solace out amongst the trees. In secret, she practiced the ancient magics of nature, learning how to channel the will of the earth itself. Over time, she learned how to sense the magical essences and call upon spirits for aid to heal and protect. She collected herbs around the forest and experimented with different combinations of herbs and plants. Her potion brewing skills became more and more refined as time went on and she became a very competent healer, protecting and watching over the animals of the forest and healing those who came to her injured. As time went on, the natural energies from her potions and the magic around her began to infuse within her, changing the coloring of her coat and her skin. Before long, her teachers began to notice the unfamiliar aura she emitted and asked the village elders for their wisdom. Sensing the unfamiliar energies had a dark purpose, the elders banished her from the village. She packed her belongings, said goodbye to her friends and with her head held high and a respectful bow to the elders of the village, returned to the woods. As she walked into the forest, the animals she had helped crowded around to console her. Realizing that she could continue perfecting her art in the peace of the forest, she decided that she would live there from then on. No one has heard of the mare since and she has been lost to the memories of the village. However, legends have been spread of a strange creature living in the woods bordering a little busting town of unicorns.
