Luna had been gone for about two hours and it was time for her to raise the moon. Celestia heard a knock on the door, she immediately walked to the door hoping it was Luna or a guard with news about Luna's whereabouts. Opening it she saw a one of her guards. “Any news ?” She asked. He bowed and proceeded with the news he had for her “ Your highness Princess Luna has requested your presence in her chambers immediately.” Celestia nodded then left her chambers heading over to Luna's bed room. She made her way down to the east wing of the castle. This part of the castle was known as the Night Wing Luna's guards saw Celestia and bowed a little confused as to why she was on this side of the castle. She had never really been on this side of the castle before other then the constitution of it. Luna had always come to Day Wing when she had a problem, this had to be serious. She knocked on Luna's door “Little sister what is the matter?” Luna opened the door quieting her sister down the dragging her inside. “Sister I have something to show you…” Luna whispered walking over to her bed where there had been a pile of blankets and pillows. Celestia saw the shape of something moving under a blanket, Luna pulled the blanket off of the figure. “I found it in the forest.” Luna squealed. The solar princess looked at the human. She looked puzzled then scared. “What in Equestria is this thing?” She bellowed looking at her little sister who had her ears down and was basically pouting. “Don't give me that look you're not keeping this thing.” She stated. “But sister I found it and it's kind of cute plus it's a new species.” She picked up the creature gently with her wings. “She's just a foal the parents I found were dead.” She whined. Celestia stared down her little sister then stared at the thing she was holding. She examined it closely, no hooves, muzzle, ears and tail it was definitely not a pony she feared for her subjects. It being a foal didn't help that meant it would get bigger and it might harm her ponies she couldn't take that risk. On the other hoof this was a new species of animal that mean they could study and control it. “Are the parents really dead?” Luna nodded caressing the human’s head. The human sneezed then grabbed on to Luna's fur. “Then you can keep it, but if it gets out of hand you put it back where it came from.” Luna smiled then said “ Her name is Crescent and she shall be my test subject.” Celestia face hooved then walked away “Just be careful.” Luna wasn't listening to her sister, she laid down in her bed and started cuddling the creature. //-------------------------------------------------------// Journal Entry 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Journal Entry 2 Unknown Creatures Entry 2: I have found myself reading the books I took from the death site more and more. One of them just happened to be what I presume is an anatomy book. From my reading I can conclude that this creature is called a human. These creatures walk on two legs which I believe is why their back hoofs are flat. Humans don't have magic so they have evolved to live without it. They have developed hands instead of hoofs I guess they use them instead of magic. I'm unsure of the hands things I haven't been able to test it with Crescent, she too young for testing. I do notice that when I'm comforting her she grabs my fur I believe she likes my fur because it's soft. It's been three months since I found her and she has displayed something new other then just laying around. She has started crawling and rolling around. I wonder if there are stages of learning how to walk she's very different from foal in the walking department. Foals usually walk a day or two after they are born but I believe she is around four months old. I had gone back to the death site to examine her months body. Her mother was very ill when she had Crescent she had not died during the lupine attack. My sister is growing worried about my relationship with Crescent. I had told her that I've decided to adopt Crescent as my own foal. I feel bad that she doesn't have parents like me and Celestia did. I recently told Cadence everything and she has decided to bring Flurry Heart over for a “play date”. She had a hard day with Crescent and Flurry playing. Maybe I shouldn’t have taken the task of watching them after all. She looked back at the two young ones sprawled out across her pillows. But this is probably how Cadence feels, proud. She's only been in my life for a short while now and have this desire to protect her. Celestia barged into the room, almost waking the foals. "Luna" she said with a demanding loud tone "Why haven't you risen the moon yet?" She looked down into her sister's eyes. Luna looked up at her then made sure the little ones were still asleep." I have been in here taking care of Crescent and Flurry." She stated. She turned toward the balcony, looking at the bright orange and yellow colors of the sun. The warmth she could feel from it was somewhat comforting. The heat felt nice on her wings as if she had Crescent laying on them. It was something she had gotten used to since she had adopted her. She walked out on to the balcony and sighed. She then lit up her horn with her blue magical aurora. She then began lifting up the moon raising it high in the sky. "Finally I can get to bed and not have to worry about the balance being off." Celestia left the room walking to her bed chambers. Luna walked back into her room and sat in the rocking chair Applejack had made her. After Pinkie Pie had somehow learned about Luna adopting Crescent, she had decided to throw a foal shower. Luna never quiet understood the reason for one but Pinkie Pie won't take no for an answer. It was there that Applejack had given her a rocking chair made out of an apple tree. Carved with apples and pictures of the moon it, it was a comfortable sitting arrangement for when Crescent had one of her sleepless nights. Some movement came from one of the blankets, Crescent popped out her head from one of them. Luna smiled and greeted her "Hello little." Luna smiled walking over to the bed then nuzzled Crescent. Crescent giggled grabbing Luna's snout.”I can see someone had a good nap” Luna giggled. Crescent nodded answering Luna's question. She than began to crawl around the bed. Luna gently took her off the bed so she wouldn't wake up Flurry. “Now I have to get to work protecting ponies in their dreams” she told Crescent who was snuggling into Luna's tail. She smiled putting Crescent in her playpen. “I wish you could talk” Luna sighed. Luna walked back to the rocking chair and sat down in it. Crescent watched Luna had her horn started to glowed, so how Crescent knew that Luna would not be back until morning. She wanted more attention from her adopted mother. She gave out a “mm”. She was trying to speak but she didn't really know how to. All she knew was Flurry knew how to talk so her mother and her aunt too. “Mma” she let out barely saying it. Luna opened her eyes and looked at Crescent “What did you say little one” “Ma” Crescent repeated giggling. Luna walked over to Crescent and picked her up. “Yes, Crescent I am your mother”. She nuzzled Crescent then sat in the rocking chair rocking Crescent to sleep.”And I will always protect you”. “Always” //-------------------------------------------------------// Journal Entry 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Journal Entry 3 Unknown Creatures Journal Entry 3: It has been many months since I have written an entry, Crescent has been very clingy and seems to be developing teeth. A normal foal is already born with teeth I guess that’s why she’s unique. In my free time have been reading the books and finding all sorts of interesting information. I learned that Crescent is not of this world but from a world called Earth. She’s not even from this galaxy either. If my research is correct then she is from a parallel universe where humans are the dominant species. Celestia thinks it’s about time for me to see if magic will affect Crescent, I keep telling her that Crescent is to young for such experimentation. She keeps insisting because Crescent is about a year old. In my opinion I think she’s just mad at me for not watching Crescent while I’m trying to rest. That little filly has a mind of her own that’s for sure, I remember the first time Crescent walked that’s probably when the trouble started. We had been sleeping as usual but Crescent had woken up, the sound of spike sending me a letter had startled her awake. She then proceeded to climb off the bed and crawl to the throne room. Crescent always stayed with me when I was doing my royal night duties so she knew where the throne room is in the castle. At the time Celestia had been holding court with the Apple family. They hadn’t noticed the tiny human crawl in, she crawled to Celestia and grabbed her ear. The Apples smiled at Crescent who was saying “Cele”. Being the calm princess she is she asked the apples to leave she then picked up Crescent by her shirt. Celestia then barged into my room and plopped Crescent down on to my bed. “Keep your thing with you Luna” she said as she left my room. Being a mother of an unknown creature is hard, but it’s rewarding. I don’t think I want Crescent to grow up. My next journal entry will probably be the affects that magic has on Crescent. Here’s hoping everything turns out well. //-------------------------------------------------------// Journal Entry 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Author's Note A journal Entry from Luna's pov every couple of chapters. All the other chapters will be the mai story. Journal Entry 1 Unknown Creatures Entry 1: Deep in the heart of the Everfree forest there lay a house. The house it self looked fairly new and like nothing Equestria had ever seen. It was bigger then any house, I believed it was more of the size of a mansion. The inside had only one room, probably the size of my own bed room. Looking around there had been pillows torn up the bed was split in half from the head board down. Pots and pans littered the floor, I walked around trying not to knock hooves on them.I headed over to the bed, looking on the ground I saw to bodies. These weren't pony bodies I wasn't sure what to call them I just knew they weren't like my subjects. Leaning down I sniffed the bodies, the blood smelled fresh. Their deaths were recent. I examined the bodies moving the one on top. I could that this one was male by the muzzle hair he had. His back side was covered in scratches that looked like they had come from a Lupine. The second creature was probably a female but I wasn't able to tell and didn't inspect her further. I had heard what sounded like a foal crying, I could tell that this foal was crying out to it's mother. I've heard Flurry cry like this when she wants to be picked up. Following the crying I was lead to crib with one of these strange creatures inside. This one smaller then a new born filly and it smells worse. I picked up the child and realized it was wearing a diaper a full one at that. I've decided to take care of the creature to learn more about them.I had casted a preservation spell so I can come back and visit the creatures death site. I had taken some of books with me so I could figure out the anatomy. Before I had fully left from the house me and baby creature were attacked by what I assume was the same Lupus. We were lucky to come out of the fight unscarred, I put up a protective barrier around us and house. I'm not entirely sure what my sister will think of this creature but I hope she allows me to keep and study the child. I shall not tell Blueblood or any of the other nobles about the creature. This will be a journal to keep my findings of this strange creature. //-------------------------------------------------------// Crescent's First Playdate //-------------------------------------------------------// Crescent's First Playdate The hall to the throne room entrance echoed with crying, Cadence knew what this meant. A foal did not want their diaper changed, she knew this all to well Flurry never liked getting her diaper changed. Cadence walked into the throne room to see very annoyed Celestia and Luna with a strange creature.Crescent whined as Luna changed her diaper. The smell radiating from the small humans flank had caused Celestia to complain. “Can she ever be quiet when you change her?” Celestia complained. “It's not her fault that you can't handle a little smelly diaper.” Luna rebuked as she finished cleaning the filth from Crescent’s diaper. She then let Crescent go free to crawl around and threw the diaper at Celestia who let out a girly screaming. “Luna what is wrong with you, you know I hate that things gross feces near me.” Celestia blurted, but Luna just rolled her eyes and gave Crescent a snack. Luna found out that Crescent loved to nom on banana chips. “What is going on here?” Cadence asked as she set Flurry down on the floor. Crescent had never seen a smaller pony before, she was definitely curious about Flurry. Flurry was curious about Crescent she had only ever seen foals like her. As the adults talked Crescent crawled up to Flurry she was bigger then her by at least a foot, then again Flurry was standing and Crescent was on her knees. Flurry sniffed Crescent not sure of what to make of her. Crescent giggled as Flurry sniffed, she then grabbed Flurry’s muzzle and examined it. She had done this to Luna when Luna would nuzzle her belly or give her raspberries. Flurry looked confused at first the she let Crescent touch her. Crescent poked her finger in Flurry’s nose in response Flurry sneezed knocking Crescent back. Flurry wiped her nose as Crescent started to cry. “What's wrong sweetie?” Luna cooed picking up Crescent. Crescent sniffled snuggling into Luna's soft comforting fur. “Sorry Luna, looks like Flurry’s sneeze scared poor little Crescent.” Cadence stated. “It's quite alright my niece, Crescent is just very sensitive to loud noises.” Cadence nodded as Flurry crawled over to Luna reaching to her and whining. Luna looked down at Flurry then picked her up smiling. Crescent peeked out from Luna's fur to look at Flurry who was reaching out for her. She smiled and touched Flurry’s hoof and they both giggled. “Looks like Flurry made a new friend today.” Cadence said smiling.
