Ever since she was a young filly she had wanted one, a little child to nurture and shower with love. A child that she would treat like royalty, and raise in a home that would preferably resemble a castle. When she fell in love with Celestia, her plans for her future changed. She still wanted a child, but she wasn't sure that she wanted to sacrifice the real love of her life for a fictional child. On the night of their wedding Starlight told her bride her desire, and the princess responded by revealing that by using her magic she would be able to implant a child within her own body. Starlight wanted to carry the child, but Celestia insisted on carrying it herself and seemed unmoving on her stance. After a few months Celestia started to get sick, and Starlight started to worry for both her lover and her unborn daughter or son. Celestia told her not to worry, that she just had some sort of alicorn flu that Starlight had likely never heard of. Starlight still worried and eventually she asked Twilight about her lover's sickness, whilst also revealing her bride's pregnancy. To which Twilight recoiled in fear and revealed that when an alicorn has a child, the child feeds off of the magic of the parent and exits the womb of the alicorn when it's magic has been completely drained and the alicorn is dead. Starlight went to the room that she and her bride shared in Canterlot castle and cried. She told Celestia what her friend had told her and begged her lover to tell her that she had lied. Celestia regretfully told her the sad truth, then she kissed her and told her that the child would allow them to both obtain what they both desired. Celestia had lived an extremely long time and wanted to die, whilst Starlight wanted a child. Starlight's tears started to multiply and her sobs grew louder while Celestia attempted to console her heartbroken lover. Celestia attempted to comfort her bride during her last few months alive. Virtually all of her royal duties were given to Twilight and Cadence, who would have to take them over anyway after she was gone, as she vowed to spend every moment she could with the mother of her child. Of course, this just seemed to make Starlight feel worse about the upcoming loss. Their last night together was almost unbearably quiet, aside from the mob of ponies who had set up various camps around the castle courtyard, eager to be the first to see the newborn princess. Starlight didn't want to speak, and Celestia was too weak to speak. All they seemed to do while they waited for one princess to die and a new one to take her place was cuddle with each other and enjoy their last moments together. At one point Starlight whispered "I love you" into her wife's ear, and Celestia responded with a weary sigh and a weak "I love you too". The next day, after Starlight awoke she had found the corpse of her bride and a newborn alicorn cuddling the corpse for warmth. She couldn't bring herself to love the child. Despite the wishes of her wife, despite the voice in the back of her mind claiming that both Twilight and her lover would disapprove of what she was about to do, she did it anyway. She used her magic to choke the child, she turned away from her so that she wouldn't see the look of betrayal in her eyes. Then, she gave the citizens their wish and tossed the corpse of the child into the crowd. She smirked as she listened to their screams, before she cuddled with the corpse of her deceased lover. "If there is a life after death, I hope that we can meet each other there." "Come back." It was a useless plea that went unheard by everyone except for the heartbroken young pony who held onto the corpse of her departed lover as though she was afraid that it would disappear if she let go. Twilight and Luna were both attempting to use their magic to remove the shield that was keeping them away. Starlight wasn't aware that she was casting a spell to shield herself from them and keep them away from her lover, the only thing she was focused on was Celestia. "I...I'm sorry I killed our daughter. But I...I...I've never wanted to kill anyone...but…" She hesitated, she wasn't sure what to say. Then, she looked at Luna and Twilight who were trying to get to her, to get to her lover. She hated them, she hated everyone, the only pony that she didn't hate was now lying dead beside her. "I can forgive a lot of people for a lot of things, but I had to kill her...I had to kill her because…" Starlight's eyes welled up with tears and she paused to wipe the tears from her eyes with her hoof. "I had to kill her because she took you away from me, but, I have to know...Would you have killed that disgusting infant if she had taken me away from you?" Starlight asked the corpse, hoping against hope that it would answer her. "I guess not. That horrible child was the last little piece of you that remained, and I killed her. I-I-I…" She paused, her breath caught in her throats and she sobbed before she collapsed on the floor. "I killed you." Starlight whispered to herself, and a tear fell from her eye. Mother, safe The infant alicorn opened her eyes and stared at the faces in the large crowd. The bright flashes from the cameras unnerved her, she didn't want to be anywhere near this crowd of strangers. A cold wind blew against her body, and she shivered. She attempted to cover her body with her wings, but to her dismay she discovered that they wouldn't wrap completely around her body. Her wings were too small to protect her from the cold wind. Mother, warm She remembered how warm and safe she felt when she cuddled with her mother. She remembered how safe she felt when she was beside her mother, and she was curious to see if she could travel back to her mother. She flapped her wings curiously and was surprised when she felt herself lift into the air. She flapped her wings a second time, then a third. Once she was high enough into the air she started to glide, and she giggled happily before a gust of cold wind made contact with her and she shivered in mid-air. She sneezed, and a number of ponies in the ground seemed to react to her sneeze in different ways. Some of them seemed to think that the sneeze was cute, while others seemed worried that she was sick and needed medical attention. She turned her head towards a bright light in a window of a large castle, and she flew towards it. She was convinced that her mother would be waiting for her. Mother, safe She flew into the window of the castle fairly quickly, but she crashed into one of the stone walls in the room when she had attempted to land. She felt tears run down her face and she sobbed as she felt different parts of her body throb from the pain she felt. "Twilight, listen to me," A voice was heard, the infant turned her head to look at the blue pony who was speaking. "We need to get out of here quickly, we need to evacuate Canterlot immediately, then we need to prepare to take as many citizens as we can to the moon," The blue pony said to the purple pony who appeared to be shocked by what she was being told. "She's just a baby, how can a baby be so dangerous?" The purple pony asked, and the blue pony sighed before she pointed towards her mother, who was laying beside the pony who she remembered tried to strangle her earlier. "Celestia hasn't entirely passed on, her spirit is in a strange place. She hasn't yet ascended fully to the afterlife, so she is still somewhat linked to this world. Of course, the only thing that is linked to this world are her instincts to protect the ponies she loves and her child in the only way she can…" The blue pony paused, and the purple pony gulped before she looked outside the window. The infant curiously looked outside as well and noticed that the big ball of light in the sky appeared to be getting bigger. "I see what you mean," The purple pony whispered, before she flapped the wings on her back and flew out the window. She was followed quickly by the blue pony, and the infant could hear them both shouting outside. Mother, safe The infant was still sobbing due to the pain she felt, and she crawled towards her mother. She was sure that her mother would make her feel better, she was sure that her mother would keep her safe. "You…" Starlight Glimmer glared at the infant alicorn who had managed to get past the barrier surrounding her and her lover. The infant was now cuddling against the corpse of her lover and smiling. If Starlight Glimmer had bothered to look outside, she would have noticed that the sun outside which had been travelling towards the planet had started to slowly move towards the position where it was supposed to be. "How dare you cuddle against the corpse of the wonderful alicorn that you killed," Starlight Glimmer said to the infant who did not appear to be paying any attention to her. Starlight looked curiously at the pink mane and the white coat of the infant. She smiled as she realized that the infant almost looked like her departed lover. Almost. Her horn lit up, and the infant whimpered as she felt herself being levitated into the air, before she was slammed against the wall and unable to move. Starlight smiled as she used her magic to scalp the corpse of her lover, removing the beautiful mane from her deceased head. "You wanted to be close to your mommy right?" Starlight whispered to the infant, who whimpered. "Well, now a part of mommy will be close to you forever," Starlight started to peel the skin off of the top of the head of the infant, and the infant shrieked in pain. Starlight smiled as she listened to the infant suffering as she slowly peeled the skin off of her head. A bead of sweat rolled down her forehead as she realized that the temperature of the room had increased. She looked outside and noticed that the sun appeared to be travelling closer towards her, and she smiled. "Do you see that? Celestia approves of what I'm doing to you. Celestia wants me to continue to transform her abomination of a child into something perfect and beautiful. Once I'm done Celestia's spirit will congratulate me on my good work, then we'll hug and kiss, and it will be wonderful," The infant shrieked all throughout Starlight's monologue, and she continued shrieking once her scalp had been removed. The top of her head was now completely exposed to the elements. "I'll make you proud!" Starlight shouted as she lifted the scalp of her lover and positioned it on top of the head of the infant. Starlight smiled as she used her magic to teleport a friend of Twilight into the room. She knew that even with her magic she would be unable to manage more than a clumsy attempt at stitching her new lover together. She needed someone with experience to create her beautiful new lover. Rarity looked at the shrieking infant with fear in her eyes, and Starlight smirked as she poked her with the sewing needle and the white thread that she had teleported along with the seamstress. "Sew," Starlight ordered. Starlight Glimmer was waiting patiently for the love of her life to wake up so that she could begin cooking pancakes for her. She enjoyed cooking for her lover, but she always seemed to be too busy to take the time to enjoy her cooking. Time and time again Celestia would be called away to work on royal business and leave her food unfinished. All of the times that she had left her alone at the breakfast table early in the morning made her feel incredibly sad. Did she really love her? Really, it was a hopelessly naive question to ask. Of course Celestia loved her, but just because she loved her didn't mean that she had to forget about her duties as a princess. Love conquers all adversity if love is strong enough, and Starlight was willing to prove that her love for Celestia was strong enough to conquer any obstacle fate put in her way. "I hope she stays until I finish eating this time," Starlight Glimmer said with a sniffle as she looked at the pancake batter beside her. "Good things come to those who wait, but I don't always want to wait for her," Starlight said to herself as she started to pace throughout the kitchen, leaving her pancake batter unattended. "How come she never surprises me anymore. She used to plan so many romantic surprises when we started dating, when I was…" She paused, and a look of realization appeared on her face. She stomped her hooves on the ground as though she was a child throwing a temper tantrum. "That bitch," Starlight growled. "She only loved me when I was a filly, she only loved me when I was a pretty little child for her to molest," Starlight growled, yet the tears forming in her eyes revealed her sadness. "Everyone grows up, but I wish that I didn't have to, if it means that Celestia would love me forever, I'd stay as young and naive and pretty as I could for the rest of my life," Starlight whispered to herself, before she sat on the ground and continued to cry. "Celestia's pretty toy, her pretty toy to play with. That would be me for the rest of my life," Starlight sobbed. "Really my love, do you have to be so dramatic?" Celestia said with a grin as she walked into the room. Starlight paled as she ran to her lover and embraced her. "Everybody needs a little drama, it makes life a little interesting. Sometimes I just want to feel like I'm in a cheesy romance story like Lolita," Starlight said with a smile as she kissed her girlfriend on her perfect lips. They kissed for a few minutes before Starlight started cooking pancakes for their romantic breakfast. Celestia would later mention that Starlight's latest emotional freakout over Celestia's perceived disinterest in her lasted a full 2 minutes longer than usual. Starlight promised that her next freakout would be longer, and Celestia believed her. "She doesn't look anything like my beloved Celestia!" "Of course she doesn't darling, she's much too small. Plus, there's the little aesthetic issue that she's basically a bloody patchwork doll that could only be liked by a sadistic child," Rarity explained to Starlight Glimmer, who appeared to be seething as she analyzed the grotesque creature sitting in front of her. The infant looked at what remained of her mother and whimpered, before she wrapped her forelegs around her body in an attempt to hug herself. Every seam on her body was covered with blood, and Rarity wasn't proud of the stitching. Throughout the sewing process the infant wouldn't stop moving and shrieking, so Rarity wasn't able to do a good job sewing the pieces of Celestia's skin to the infant's body. Starlight might have been a pony who had been driven insane by her grief, but she was still a client and Rarity still considered her to be a friend. She didn't want to disappoint her, even if she was performing a task that she didn't want to do. "It's the blood! The blood needs to be washed away so that I can see more of her beautiful skin!" Starlight yelled, and Rarity made a mental note that the heat appeared to be making the grief-stricken widow much more ornery. Rarity feared for her life, and she hoped that her friends would be able to rescue her. Then again, when she was teleported away her friends had been working on a plan to transport every creature they could to the moon. Luna admitted that she questioned how effective the plan would be, but she also admitted that transporting every creature to the moon would likely be the only chance that the citizens had to be saved. As Luna stated, "It's not a great plan, but it's the best plan we have, the only plan that's likely to work." "Darling, there's no water left to clean her with. The fountains and streams outside have all dried up," Rarity said to the grieving pony, who smiled as she turned to face the seamstress. "If you can speak, you can lick," Starlight said to the seamstress, who recoiled in horror and prepared to faint dramatically before she realized that Starlight might have killed her with little hesitation if she tried. "Are you suggesting that I lick your daughter's blood from her body?" Rarity asked, and Starlight nodded her head. "Don't waste saliva by arguing. Make my daughter feel like the prettiest girl in Equestria, lick all of her blood." Celestia dressed up like a clown on her and Starlight's first date. She hadn't meant to date Starlight at all, she hadn't even been planning to socialize much at all that day. She had wanted to play a prank on Twilight Sparkle, and the prank idea she had in mind involved a clown costume and a banana cream pie. Every good romance story has a terrible beginning, and the romance story between Starlight and Celestia was no exception. Love knows no barriers. Celestia and Starlight were proof that this saying was true. Everybody talked about how inappropriate it was for Celestia, a female alicorn who was thousands of years old, to be dating such a young female pony. Celestia didn't care what any pony said, or what scandalous photos were published in the various newspapers throughout the land, she was in love. Starlight had noticed Celestia hiding in the bushes, and she curiously asked her what she was doing. Celestia caught her staring at her behind and smugly asked her if she found her behind to be attractive. Starlight blushed and nodded her head. This was the moment when their relationship truly began. In the light of the beautiful moon Celestia and Starlight went on their first date that night after Celestia had pulled the prank on Twilight with Starlight's assistance. Celestia had prepared a quick picnic lunch, and the two enjoyed a lovely meal underneath the light of the moon. They kissed each other for the first time that night, and Starlight never forgot about the kiss. All throughout their relationship Starlight had attempted to share a kiss with her lover that felt as magical as her first clumsy attempt at a kiss with the much more experienced alicorn. Every kiss she had shared with the alicorn since didn't have the same romantic feeling, nor the same passion that was shown when they kissed for the first time under the light of the moon with bellies full of delicious sandwiches and cakes. Some nights, Starlight wondered if she would ever share a kiss with her lover that was as special as her first kiss ever again. The fact that she could never travel through time and truly experience her first kiss a second time made her upset, but it also made her cherish the memory greatly. "Yes, she's starting to look more like Celestia, but she's still missing something. I can't figure out what she's missing though," Starlight mumbled to herself as she inspected the infant. Rarity was in the corner sobbing to herself. Rarity had attempted to remove the taste of the blood from her mouth by licking the floor and the wall, but all that did was waste valuable liquids from her body. She wanted to leave the crazed mare and her child, she wanted to be with her friends and family. Unfortunately, you can't always get what you want. "I got it! She looks so much like Celestia except for her eyes! Celestia's eyes used to be filled with so much love when she looked at me, this infant's eyes are full of fear!" Starlight stared into the eyes of the infant as she spoke, and the infant whimpered as it cuddled against one of the small patches of Celestia's skin that hadn't been removed from her body. "If she had the eyes of her mother she would be-" "-No!" Rarity hollered, and Starlight immediately turned her head to stare at the angry unicorn. "How can you even think about mutilating your dead lover any further? Your lover is dead and you are dishonouring her memory by transforming your daughter into a monster. You are transforming the greatest reminder of the love you two shared into a horrible abomination," Rarity said to Starlight, who appeared to be trembling as Rarity spoke. Starlight turned away from Rarity to face her daughter, who cuddled with Celestia's corpse and seemed to shiver in fear when Starlight looked into her eyes. "Oh my Celestia, what have I done," Starlight whimpered. She immediately ran to her daughter and embraced her in a hug. She cried upon the shoulder of her daughter, while the infant struggled to free herself from her embrace. "My daughter, my sweet daughter. Will you ever forgive me? Will you ever look at me with the same love that Celestia did?" Starlight asked the infant, who continued to struggle to free herself. "Twilight, we both know that this is foolish," Luna said to the purple alicorn who sat beside her on one of the rocks on the moon. Twilight nodded her head solemnly and wiped a bead of sweat from her face as she looked at her group of friends who were staring at the planet they left behind, as well as the sun which appeared to continue to travel closer. "We never had a chance of saving anyone, even on the moon we're not safe. At least we gave them a few moments of hope," Luna said gloomily, before she collapsed on the ground in an undignified manner. "I tried to warn my sister about bringing a child into this world at the cost of her life, but she wouldn't listen to me. She said that Starlight would be able to handle the responsibility of a child as well as the loss of the mare she loved," Luna sniffled, and turned her head away from Twilight. The sun continued to travel closer, and Twilight assumed that they only had a minute or two before they died. Twilight would have liked to spend her last moment with her family and friends, but she decided to stay with Luna when she realized that Luna would have liked to spend her last moment with her family as well. "It's not fair. My sister sacrificed everything for her child, and Starlight ruined everything," Luna continued to speak, and Twilight wondered if she was speaking to her or just mumbling to herself. "It probably doesn't matter much now, but I feel that somebody should know the truth, so it might as well be you," Luna stood up and faced Twilight. "Me and Celestia were very close, some might say we were a little too close at times…When she wanted a child she came to me, one thing lead to another and I kind of...came into her. That child was fucked from the start, long before it entered the world," The sun was extremely close to crashing into the planet, and Twilight stared at Luna with her mouth agape. "Twilight, I'm ready. I want to be where she is." "My baby, my sweet baby," Celestia cooed as she stroked the head of the infant who sat on her lap and cuddled against her body. Starlight whimpered as she looked at the two alicorns in front of her while Luna glared at Starlight. The four of them were in a white room without a single entrance or a single piece of furniture aside from the black wooden chair that Celestia was sitting on. The last thing that Starlight remembered was pain, an incredible burning pain that she felt for a few seconds before she closed her eyes. When she had opened her eyes, she had found herself in the room staring at her lover. "I do not believe that my lovely baby will ever heal from the abuse she has suffered. She will always have these scars on her body. But she doesn't need to heal, because her mother will always love her no matter how broken she is," Celestia said to her child, while Starlight and Luna stared at her. Neither of them wanted to say a single word to the mare they both loved. "I watched as my baby was abused, and I watched as my baby was abandoned. I saw everything," Celestia said with a cold scowl to the two ponies in front of her, who seemed to shrink as they attempted to avoid her gaze. "I loved the world enough to leave it behind and trust the mares I loved to take care of my daughter. When I saw what you two did to my daughter, I realized that the world needed to burn to cleanse it of your sins," Celestia spoke as she stroked her daughter's head. "Perhaps I overreacted, but love makes ponies do strange things. It makes even the best of us act irrationally."
