In a world without magic, ponies born with magical capabilities, Conduits, have been seen as a threat and are hunted down by the mysterious DMD, also known as the Department of Magic Defense.

In the present day, the DMD has dispatched their first military transport of these "Bioterrorists" from a detention facility at Canturn Cay Station, headed for an army prison in central Fillydelphia.
