Chapter 1: A long day
I let out a massive groan as I sat back in my chair. 'Why did Maths always have to take so long?' I thought to myself. I am an average 19-year-old boy who likes everyone else hated Maths. Maths was one of the subjects that would always hurt my head. I wish I could be almost anywhere else right now. The heat radiated through the room as sweat slowly trickled down my face. My mind slowly faded away in thought trying not to get bored. Sleep soon fell open me.
"Chris" A voice whispered.
"Chris!" It said, a little louder this time.
"CHRIS!" It yelled waking him from his peaceful slumber.
"Meet me in my office after school, we will have to discuss your attention in class" Mr sear preached.
'Oh no, this was a perfect day, having double Maths and getting a detention after school. How could this day get any worse.' I looked at the clock. '10:25! Could I really have dosed off for that long?' The bell soon rang for us to go out to break. I ran straight into the bathroom to wash my face.
Finally, wet cold water smothered my face, turning it from stone dry to water wet. I glanced up at my reflection as it glared back at me. 'Was my hair always that green?' I thought to myself. It was probably just some grime on the mirror. Then I noticed my eyes. They were definitely different. Instead of being a brown color, they had changed to a light green hazel. 'Weird' I thought to myself. 'Maybe the light made them look different.' I then walked outside to enjoy the rest of break.
'Aargh, my scalp hasn't stopped itching!' Here I was in French with the most terrible itch. It showed no sign of stopping as it continued on for what seemed like ages. 'At last! It had stopped.' But I still felt a strange tickling feeling on my neck. Lunch was garbage as always, it might have just been better to go without any. I put the U.F.L.O (Unidentified Food Like Object) in the bin but I couldn't help to notice that everybody kept giving me strange looks as if something was wrong.
I soon arrived at my destination the magical land to relieve you of your waste called the toilet. Here I did my business and went out to go wash my hands. 'Woah,' I thought nearly saying it out loud. My hair had grown down to beneath my shoulders. 'How does hair grow that fast' I pondered proceeding to see that it had now become an olive green. I decided that I would see what was happening when I came home. With a quick change of clothes, I got a hoodie to cover up my abnormal hair. For my eyes though, they had become even more green. I would just have to hope that nobody noticed anything.
"Hey, Chris!" Jack yelled.
"Hi," I said back.
"What have you done with your hair?" He questioned me.
'Oh no, he had noticed. Now I would have to come up with a reasonable answer. Think Chris think.' "That was from the party last night when we poured coke on each other's hair."
"Honestly Chris, how many times do I tell you not to get drunk the day before school? Anyway, want to come round to my place tomorrow evening?"
'Good, he had bought it.' "Sorry, I can't do tomorrow, I have swimming lessons that day. But I can do the day after that."
"I'll see you then, bye!" He replied.
"Bye!" I said and went inside for our next lessons.
The next few lessons proceeded like normal only except that damn itching came back. I soon headed off to receive my detention. Detentions are a complete waste of time as you do nothing but just sit around with your thoughts. You're not even allowed to do homework.
Detention was finally over and I left to go home. I arrived expecting my mum to be making dinner but instead, she was not there. 'She must still be at work' I thought. I then went up to my room to take a look at my changes. My hair was now a fern green with hints of blue in it. I also noticed physic defying holes in my hair. My eyes were now a light green with a dark green inner. Suddenly I realized, I didn't have any ears! Instead what replaced higher on my head were two large holes with black flaps of skin sticking out.
My blood ran cold.
