A Boy And His Timberwolf (formerly "Star Wars: The Equestrian Visitor")by SlenderfaerieChapters1: Welcome to Equestria1.5: Azrael2: Literacy1: Welcome to Equestria NOTE: The first few chapters of this story are somewhat poorly written. Just stick with it; it gets less cringy later on. I woke up in a forest. A dark forest. 'Why am I in a forest?' I stood up and looked at what I was wearing. It was camouflage. I was dressed like a soldier. 'Why am I dressed like a soldier?' I wondered. Then I noticed two green lights peeking out from an area of bushes a few yards in front of me. A lupine shape made of wood stepped out of the bushes. 'That's a timberwolf,' I thought. 'Since when are timberwolves real?' When it started to approach, I realized that it probably wasn't smart to stay near it, so I backed away slowly. Okay, not really; I ran for my life. Meanwhile in Ponyville, a certain pink pony's ears rang. She jumped into the air, gasped, and ran off into the distance, knowing this could mean only one thing. As I ran at full tilt, darting between the trees, I took a glance behind me to see if the timberwolf was following me. It was, and to make things worse, I ran straight into a tree. Not a moment I like looking back on. The world spun for a few seconds, but I recovered just in time to see the timberwolf jumping toward me. I screamed and ran to the side. The timberwolf slammed into the tree and was smashed into pieces. I ran off again, this time not looking back for any reason. I didn't stop until I had exited the forest. "A timberwolf? I asked myself, breathing heavily. "What the heck? Timberwolves don't exist! They only exist on..." I trailed off when I saw a fair-sized village in the distance. It looked eerily familiar. And cartoonish. "Is that-? No, it can't be... But it would explain the-" I was cut off when a pink blur slammed into me, knocking off my glasses. "Hiya!" the blur said in a high voice, pinning me to the ground. "My name's Pinkie Pie. What's yours?" "Huh?" I replied, dazed from the impact. "What's going... where am I?" "Right now you're juuust outside the Everfree Forest." "The what?" "The Everfree Forest. You know, weird forest where weird stuff happens weirdly." I just stared for a second. "Could you please let me up?" "Oops, sorry." The blur got off of me. I got onto my hands and knees and tried to find my glasses. After I found them and put them on, what the blur had been saying finally clicked. I got up and looked straight at it. Surprise, surprise, there stood a pink, cartoonish pony with ridiculously curly hair and light blue eyes. "Sweet Celestia," I said before fainting. I awoke when I fell into a cold body of water. It was a shallow area, about two feet deep, but it was enough to wake me up. I panicked a bit, but managed to get upright. "Sorry!" I heard from the shore. "Sometimes I underestimate my bounces." I turned to the voice. Pinkie. Of course. "What just happened?" "You fainted, so I was carrying you to town on my back, but then I started bouncing, and you flew off." "It's okay, everyone- err, I mean everypony makes mistakes. Quite frankly, I'm not surprised in the least considering who I'm talking to." It took me a second to remember that, last time I checked, I didn't live in Equestria. "I'm talking to Pinkie Pie, how is this possible!?" She stared at me for a second. "What do you mean?" "Uhh..." "No wait, lemme guess. You're not from this world but another world where I'm a fictional character, you have no idea how or why you're here, you're amazed at the fact that you're really talking to a fictional character, and now you've got weird powers." "... Had anypony else said that, I'd question it. From you, it's just par for the course." She giggled a little. "Hold it, what was that last part?" "Oops. You don't know that yet. My bad." I walked out of the water. "You know what? I'm just going to pretend I never heard it. I don't suppose you just stumbled onto me at random." "No, my Pinkie Sense told me that an alien was coming, so I came to find you and throw you a welcome-to-Equis party." "Equis?" "The planet you're on." "Ah. Figures. What's your Sense for aliens?" "Ringing in the ears." "Huh." I looked at the sky, seeing that it was about noon. "Let's go to Ponyville, I guess." "Okay. I still need to throw you that party anyway." We started walking toward Ponyville. While we were still a bit away, Pinkie noticed something. "What's that thing on your hip?" "Huh? Thing on my-?" I looked for what she was asking about, and my eyes found a metal cylinder. I grabbed it and held it in front of me. "Is this...?" I held it at arm's length and pressed a button on it. A yellow beam extended from one end. "Sweet Celestia..." "Sooooo, what is it?" "A lightsaber... I have a lightsaber..." My mouth formed a wide smile. "I have a lightsaber!" I turned off the blade and punched the air several times excitedly. "What's a lightsaber?" "It's like a sword, but the blade's made of plasma." "Plasma?" "For easy comparison, it's like fire. Hotter than hot fire." "Oooooooooh. Can I see it?" "Be careful," I said, handing it to her. She grabbed it in her hooves and looked at it. "Neat." She handed (hoofed?) it back to me. "You have no idea." We walked the rest of the way to Ponyville. "You don't happen to have anywhere to stay, do you?" she asked "At the moment, no." "You can stay with me if you want." I smiled. "Thanks." We walked past the Golden Oaks Library, and a thought occurred to me that somehow hadn't yet. "When are we?" "What do you mean?" "I've seen that library destroyed in the work of fiction I know you from, but it's here now." "Oh. Hmm. The Summer Sun Celebration is coming up. It's being hosted here this year. Ooh, that rhymes!" "Have you heard of Nightmare Moon?" "No. Should I have?" "It's unlikely that you'd forget her, so no. Not yet. When is the Summer Sun Celebration?" "It's in a week." "A week, huh?" "Yup." We reached Pinkie's house. "Then I have time to give you some forewarnings." "What kind of forewarnings?" "First, I'm gonna have to tell you the tale of Nightmare Moon." We went into her house. It was gonna be a long day. Author's Note Behold: the first chapter of my first story on here! Huzzah! Also, yes I gave Pinkie a Pinkie Sense for "Alien incoming." It's times like this that I question my own sanity. 1.5: Azrael2: Welcome to Ponyville I wandered Pinkie's house as I told her the story of Nightmare Moon. "Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape and she will bring about nighttime eternal," I finished. I found a mirror as I was wandering, and I looked into it. I was surprised to see that not only was I dressed like a soldier, but one of the rebel soldiers on Endor. I looked exactly like one of them. More of *that* franchise, I guess. "This year is the thousandth year, isn't it?" she asked nervously. "Eeyup. And the Summer Sun Celebration is on the longest day, so that's when she'll escape." "Sweet Celestia... What's gonna happen when she escapes?" "Your life's gonna change forever." "Change how?" "Can't tell you. Spoilers." "Oh." "I wish I could tell you, but I don't wanna risk changing something." "I understand." A few seconds later, she gasped. "You never told me your name." "Huh, so I haven't. It's Peter." I extended a hand, she extended a hoof, and we shook. My stomach growled. "Got anything to eat?" "Oh yeah." She zipped off and came back with a large pile of sweets and baked goods on her back. "I have cake, cupcakes, muffins, donuts, cookies..." She kept listing, but I had stopped listening by that point. I was transfixed by the mountain on her back. "Sweet Celestia..." I'll be darned if I wasn't drooling by that point. "Do you just want everything?" "If it's okay with you..." She plopped the mound in front of me. I don't remember what happened next. When I woke up, what was left of the pile was just half-eaten baked goods strewn about all over the floor. "Uuuuugh... What happened?" "You ate a small mountain of baked goods and sweets before passing out on the floor." "That explains the stomachache." A few seconds later, I remembered something and sat bolt upright. "I'm in Equestria! How the heck am I in Equestria?" "I don't know." "That wasn't directed at you." "Was it directed at them?" "Who?" "Them." She gestured off in a seemingly random direction. I just stared for a second. "You know what?" "Not even gonna question?" "Not even gonna question." I got up. "But I will say this: fillies and gentlecolts, Pinkie Pie." A thought occurred to me. "You know, I don't think it would be right for me to just stay here doing nothing like a bum." "Oh no, it's okay. Assuming you don't usually eat like you did yesterday." "I don't, but still. I don't think it would be right. I should get a job." "That might not be particularly easy." "None open?" "No, it's just that... well... you kinda attracted a lot of attention yesterday just walking through town... ponies might not respond that well." "... Ah, buck! How could I not have realized that? A bizarre creature just walking through town would be as obvious as the bucking princess doing the same, only with a higher chance of negative reactions!" "Well, it probably won't be *that* bad." I took a deep breath and forced a smile. "You're right. This is Ponyville. At worst, they'll just be weirded out," I said, mostly trying to convince myself. "I'm getting a job, and that is final." "Well, the Cakes have mentioned that they could use a little more help at Sugarcube Corner." "Then let's get going." "Mr. and Mrs. Cake!" Pinkie bellowed upon entering Sugarcube Corner. I was waiting outside for the time being. I heard a pony or two coming down the stairs. "Hello there, Pinkie," a mare's voice said "You're here early." "You guys told me you needed some help, and I met somepony yesterday who needs a job, so I brought them. They're waiting outside." "Oh thank goodness." This time it was a stallion talking. "Send them in." "Before I do, I gotta tell you that he looks a little... strange." "We've seen our fair share of strange ponies." It was the mare again. "I mean there's Derpy-" "She's not that strange," I said loudly enough for them to hear me. "It's really just her eyes." "Was that him?" Stallion again. "Yeah," Pinkie answered. "He's also not really a pony. He's actually a... Huh. I never asked what he was. Just brace yourselves. Come on in, Peter!" "Alrighty then." I came in, closing the lower part of the door behind me, as well as removing my helmet. Needless to say, the Cakes were a bit shocked. They jumped back a bit. "What were y'all expecting? Bugbear?" It took them a few minutes to calm down. When they did, things got a bit boring. They let me get a job, but I'm not going to bore you with that process. I opted to work the register, mainly to help everypony get used to my presence, and started working that day. In all honesty, it was actually kinda boring. I got to see a few familiar faces, but I could count them on both my hands. Apparently, I was right about them having minimal negative reactions. They were only surprised. Nevertheless, the most interesting part of the day was when Berry Punch came in with Carrot Top. "I'm telling you, it was tall, wore green, and just walked through town with Pinkie Pie," Berry said to Carrot. "You're sure you weren't just drunk again?" ('Huh. So it's *that* version of her,' I thought.) "I know what I saw!" "Can I help you?" I interrupted. They stared for a second. "Told you." "Remind me not to doubt you next time." Again, that was the most interesting part of the day. The novelty of being in Equestria probably died right around then. Unsurprisingly, I was a bit happy when it was time to close up. Pinkie and I then went back to her place, had dinner, and went to sleep. Author's Note New chapter: check. People who like this story: check. Thumbs downs: *counts* quadruple check... Yes, I'm keeping this going. Most of y'all may not like it, but the few who do are all the reason I need to do so. The last chapter may have been a bit of an exposition dump, so I'm trying not to do *that* again. Emphasis on trying. I'm still new to this, so if y'all could comment suggestions, please do. Also, yes I use "y'all" in conversation. I couldn't remember whether or not Pinkie or the Cakes live in Sugarcube Corner, and I was planning on there being *far* more major differences anyway (I have big plans for this, likely too big), so I decided Pinkie would have her own place and the Cakes would live in Sugarcube Corner. 2: Literacy3: This Just Keeps Getting Worse... And Weirder I woke up just as Celestia was raising the sun. I didn't get out of bed for a while, but instead just started thinking. I thought about Equestria, the ponies that were living all around, and what I'd be doing next. Suddenly, I realized something: there was likely no way for me to get home. I had no clue how I had gotten there in the first place, and how I'd get back was even further beyond me. Besides, in most stories I'd read about people being sent to Equestria, they never got back. I was scared by the thought. I sat bolt upright on the bed. I'm not sure how long it was before Pinkie came in. "Hey Peter!" I didn't respond, but I must not have been hiding my shock. "What's with that look?" "I realized that I'm probably stuck here." "Stuck in bed?" "No, stuck on Equis." "Don't you like it here?" "No. I mean, I do. But I have people who care about me back on Terra. They'll worry about me, wonder where I am." "Oh. That makes sense. Surprised it took you three chapters." "Fillies and gentlecolts, Pinkie Pie." She changed the subject. "Do you want some breakfast?" My stomach growled. "Sure." She dashed off and brought me a donut. "We've gotta get to Sugarcube Corner for work soon." "Okay. I'm getting up." I got out of bed, ate the donut Pinkie brought me, brushed my hair (which is long enough that I wear it in a ponytail), put on my helmet, and went with Pinkie to work. Work was similar to the day before, but somehow even less eventful. I spaced out a few times, but nothing of note happened. Or if it did, I didn't notice. After work, I took a walk, during which I bumped (literally) into a familiar white unicorn mare with a purple mane and a cutie mark of three gems. We both fell to the ground. "Ach, sorry," I apologized. "Wasn't looking where I was going." "It's alright," she responded. We both got up and she finally got a decent look at me. "Oh my." "What?" "Your clothes. Camouflage, really? And they're so messy." It had taken me a second to recognize her. Once I did, what she said made sense. "Oh, I'm new in town and I only have one outfit right now." "I could remedy that." "No thanks, I'm good. Hey!" She lifted me with her magic and pulled me towards Carousel Boutique. "Nonsense, I've never made clothes for... whatever you are, but if you only have one outfit, I might as well help you. My name's Rarity, by the way." "Shouldn't have expected you to take 'no' for an answer," I mumbled. "What was that?" "I said my name's Peter." "Hmm. Strange name." "I'll take that as a compliment." At the Boutique, she quickly figured out how to make clothes for me. I helped her out once I realized that there was no stopping her. I managed to convince her to make a recreation of the outfit that I'd wear back home: a grey hoodie, a plaid button-up shirt, a t-shirt, jeans, and a belt. "You're not going to wear both shirts and the hoodie all at once, are you?" "Yes, I am." "All day, every day?" "No matter the season." "Really?" "I don't care much about appearances, but I want to look how I want to look." "If you say so. The customer's always right, I guess." "Don't get your head too tightly wedged into that way of thinking. You're the fashion expert, and you'll regret that mindset one day, mark my words." "Okay..." I wound up getting back to Pinkie's place *much* later than I had expected. "Pinkie! I'm home!" I yelled with a chuckle. Suddenly, ponies came out of every possible hiding place in Pinkie's home, with the party mare herself dropping down from the ceiling. "Surprise!" they all yelled. "Gah! What the...?" "I remembered that I still hadn't thrown you your 'welcome to Equis' party, and you were running a bit late, so I decided to set it up before you got back." "Why does that not surprise me?" "You're not surprised?" "No, I am. I just meant that your ability to set up *this* large of a party as quickly as you did doesn't surprise me." I noticed Rarity in the crowd. "How did she get here before me?" "I helped her." "Of course you did." The party went great. I wound up running into the three members of the Mane 6 who I hadn't met thus far (bar Twilight, who was still living in Canterlot) and some background ponies who I recognized. It wound up going until around midnight, when Berry Punch got so drunk that she jumped off of the fridge (for some reason) and landed on Pinkie. (I'm surprised that didn't trigger her Pinkie Sense.) Pinkie was fine, but Berry broke her leg and I decided it was best to send everypony home. I took her to the hospital myself, just to make sure she got there okay. "We're almost there, Berry," I told her as we went. "Thanks-" *hic* "Petey." "Please don't call me that. It always sounds patronizing." "Sorry, Petral." "Okay, that's not even close. It's Peter or Pete." "Alrighty Pe-" *hic* "Pete." "Thanks, Berry." "You're kinda cute." I stopped, and since I was keeping her steady, she had to stop too. "Excusez-moi?" She lifted one of her forehooves. "You're," she said pressing the hoof against my nose. "Kinda." She did it again. "Cute." Again. I stared straight ahead and started walking again. I didn't say another word the remainder of the trip. When I got back to Pinkie's after dropping Berry off, I went straight to sleep. I had some thinking to do. Author's Note Because reasons. I actually decided on the Berry Punch bit on the spot. Tell me whether y'all think it should go anywhere. I have justification. I might still do it even if y'all say not to, but I'd like y'all to weigh in. Please.

Please.
