The Future That Is NightMare Moon

                                                                                Longe ago in an alternate past, there were 2 sisters.

One was named Celestia, she was the oldest sister and she was "The Goddess Of The Day" and the other was named Luna who was the youngest sister and was "The goddess Of The Night". Celestia raised the sun and lowered it and Luna raised and lowered the moon. They were also princesses of a kingdom known as Equestria.They both ruled equally together. They Both were also immortal alicorns, the only 2 remaining. They both were happy as well as their citizens. Ponys enjoyed the day as much as they did the night, and It was a time of harmony and peace.

But this would not last.

As time went on, Ponys were starting to mostly just sleep through the night then spend time in it. and Celestia started to ignore luna more and more as time passed but it can be explained by just 2 reasons why. First is that as time went on, ponies were expected to get up early for work to go to school, go to work, or for health reasons. And the second is that as time went on, Equestria was getting more and more complicated to run for Celestia as a ruler at day while it was getting less hard for Luna.

Why? Well, there was this system that both of them used.

Luna would run most governments work that consist with the night and Celestia by day. Celestia by day court and Luna for night court. But day by day the there was fewer people at night court then at day court and that meant more work was put on the shoulders of Celestia then Luna. In other words, the fewer ponies that were spending time at night and more time at day, the more worked were needed for government problems that were of the day then the night, that meant more work for Celestia and that meant less time and less time to be with her sister.

But this was not her fault, but Luna did not understand this and as time went on she became lonely depress, then started to become jealous.

A darkness was started to grow in her heart but this was no ordinary darkness, this was pure darkness and it also had effects on the soul as well. Most of the time theses kinds of thing go away but not for immortals because for mortals by the time the pure darkness was going to do any effect the person would either be too old or have died but immortals have all the time in the world for theses things to become far worst then they should have been.

If pure darkness lingers in ones sold for more than 40 years, the pure darkness will start to replace the darkness that the immortal had and will try and fog or slowly destroy and light that is within and will also start affecting the mind and heart and magic horrible ways But there are also 3 other rare things it will, and one of them will not only make it impossible to get rid of but making one even more dangerous.

first is that the darkness will try and fuse with the regular darkness rather than get replace it. This will make any symptoms of the pure darkness less noticeable because the pure darkness would become less noticeable but it will take longer for it to start to change the host.

The second is when the darkness tries to become its own entity by using the soul as a ridge and then trying to become one's inner voice. This will make it easier to control but symptoms are more noticeable.

But the third is what happen to luna.

First, the darkness will become an entity a but instead will only be an inner voice to the victims. It called itself nightmare to her, telling her lies about how her sister does not love her and how nobody love her night, then it started to try and convince her that the only way to get people to love her night is through force. She tells her that she must defeat her sister, take over Equestria and show all that her night is needed.

All the while it slowly gathers pure darkness from others mortals to be ready.

For 50 years it has been growing, for all that time it stayed hidden. It revealed itself to luna fully after 48 years and began to convince luna to let her help, to help her show everyone the power of the night. How did Celestia not notice her depression? Alicorns, if put under high stress will concentrate more on what is causing it. If an alicorn has a cut on his/her leg and has is under constant stress by day, she/he will not notice it between 15 to 40 years.

Anyway, after all that time she finally accepted.

One day, Luna was missing. Nobody notices her gone until night court was about to start. During that entire day, she and the entity were reading them for what is a called a Complete soul fusion. They would take a soul and strip it down of memories, its darkness and light and anything that is not needed. This would pretty much have the user of the soul would die.

They had the nightguard try and slow down the search for her do to the fact that here sister got worried when she went missing. She used her castle to do this fusion so that no one interferes or sees it. Complete soul fusion is when 2 souls or 1 entity and 1 soul fuse permanently together perfectly as if they were never 2 at all. This not only guaranteed there was no way to save one from the pure darkness but it made it where she had become the pure darkness itself.

There Is No Luna, There Is only NightMare.

Nightmare Moon was born.

When it happen, all life could feel it. To the biggest dragon of all, to the littlest mouse, to even her sister Celestia. Celestia found where the castle was, she kicked the door of the front of the castle, stone walls and floors with glassed windows met her face of fear when she turned around.

She walk in steadily, she felt something a mass amounts of pure darkness here. She was coming to just check and see if she was here since she and staff and guards that serve her could only enter this castle but they all seem to disappear. She starts calling out her name yelling "Sister?!" or "Luna!?" out through the hallways, checking into open rooms as well as searching the gardens and kitchen. There was almost nothing wrong, no pure darkness, no evil presence, nothing. But there was also no guards or staff either. The sense of pure darkness was gone, maybe it was something else like a spell she was doing.

Then she found herself outside her sister's bedroom.

She stared at it for a moment and was debating what to do. She knew her sister was in there, right? Every room was check in the castle. She raises her head calls out but not too loud of a voice saying "luna?", Prompting no response. She knocks on the door and says one more time,

Prompt with nothing.

She then decided that she was simply not there was starting to turn around until she heard.....something from the other side. She turned around facing the door, SHE KNEW IT! She then uses here magic to grasp the door and as she open, she says " HA you thought yo..cou..."

On the other side of the door, all there was pure darkness.

There was nothing but a void of pure darkness, there seems to be no room even left. But then she noticed one thing left inside what was left of the room was broken glass window. Her eyes shrunk to pupils, panic started to rise within her. But instead of turning around and looking for her another way, she had a lack of ration right at that point so she dived into the room and threw the broken window.

She found herself outside and it was pouring rain and  As she fell with it from the castle with the rain she sense the pure darkness again, she open her wings and started flying towards where her senses were telling her. She knew about pure darkness but she never thought..... she never thought....

No, has it really gone that bad. Has her work let her drive luna away.

NO, she has to be ok. She was her sister she thought. But as she went closer to and closer she to the pure darkness she was tracking the more she thought through the years. She slowly realised that she was really pushing her away, not just from her but from power too. She now is slowly realising what is happening.

She realising by her action, she will lose her sister

Flying through the rain, she tried to deny it and just kept on here track of looking for it. Maybe it's just an entity that captures her and she can just blast it, save her sister and be done with this, Then she can make it up to her then.....right?

The track was leading her to a forest but she all too familiar.

She cloaked herself with a spell of invisibility and landed right at the entrance of the forest, she sensed the pure darkness deep within the forest where she knew exactly where it is. The problem is she also sense other separate sources that of pure darkness. This may be the entities work by mind controlling others to help him have luna hostage. She could not let them know she was there.

She could not get the guard, she had to do this alone.

She need was a goddess, she did not need help.

There were 50 in total, 30 at the castle and guarding the entrance mostly and 20 in the forest. 7 was in the middle of the path to the castle and was probably an ambush, but the 13 was at an area of the forest she knew. There was a white tree on a hill surrounded by a small river and next to that tree was an entryway to the castle, it was used for emergencies back then buy now it's being guarded by them. She did not want to be found out by all of them by once, she needs to get into that entrance way so she does not have to fight all of them and just get to luna.

The problem is that she knew how the nightguard worked, When they set things like this they would always have 1 guard every 15 minutes from there ambush areas to go tell the other guards that everything is fine before going back, but if this guard does not show up then the guards will shoot a red flaming arrow to signal to everyone at all places that something is wrong and should be on high alert.

She had a plan.

She would first wait for them to send one of the guards to message this, then she duplicated herself a clone. she would then put 2 powerful trigger spells, one would be to knock out the guards and the other would destroy the pure darkness on them. She would then sent her clone in as a trap for them. Then while that happens she went to the tree where they are guarding and wait until the guard that was a part of the ambush to leave and then as he was heading back, take him out with a spell and get rid of his pure darkness that was in his mind.

She would then take care of the rest easily and doing the same before going into the entrance and into the castle, find her sister and destroy the entity once and for all.

It was gonna be piece of cake.

She did as she planned, in the wet rain she waited for one of them to leave. One did and a second he did she put her duplicate spell to use. The duplicate look just like her, even a changeling would be tricked by this. She put both the powerful trap spells on her before pointing towards the path and whispering "Go". The duplicate nodded and went off and as soon as she did, the real one went off to catch up with that guard. She felt both the spells going off and sensing that all the guards were out dreaming.

She then managed to beat the guard that was head to the tree and she waited, hidden in sight.

Sure enough, the guard showed up and he gave him their OK before started to head back. She then went straight to that guard, ahead and in front of his path to make her own ambush in the tree. She waited in the rain, Hidden from sight. She then saw the guard pass the tree and as he did this, she shot a sleeping spell right onto him. The guard fell to the ground, she teleports down next to him and was about to.. was about to.....there was no pure darkness when his mind

Same result for the soul,  the pure darkness that was on the guard was nowhere near his mind or soul, yes he had pure darkness but that was only for physical strength and power to increase. Nothing was in his mind to suggest a mind spell either and what worst is that there was nothing wrong with his mind either. This guard was 100% in control of his actions.

Fear Started to rise within her, a fear she tried to suppress earlier was coming back but even harder than before.

Just like before, she tried to suppress it but as she did this, anger started and un-rational thoughts started to go open her mind. Theses guards betrayed Equestria. She then ran straight towards the entrance tree and charge straight for at the guards and before any of the could react, blasted each and every one of them.

This entity must have bribed them to do this, how could the night guard-You know why you fool a voice calls within her head. Why would not. After all, you ignore most of what was happening to the ones of the night. In fact, your sure that they would go by her- SHUT IT!

They were not dead but they were going to have a nasty headache, so she then headed into the passageway. It was basically a huge tunnel that a structured tunnel system under the castle which has Multiple access points inside, one of them lead straight to the throne room. She sensed the ent- Oh come on, you should know well by now that-No,sh- YOU KNOW, you know  that you ignore her because you had "work to do" but you could have done better, you could have had the time to at least spend that one day with and not for another fact that you also let HER power slip away and on top of your shoulders. You let this happen and you will lose he- No, I don't know that. Even if she is I can save her.

But as she finally reaches to the main to tunnels, the thought of it only got stronger and- wait.

She stopped mid track within the tunnel, stopping only short between a crossroad of the tunnels. A smile slowly crosses her face, as she found another idea. Even if she was taken control by her pure darkness, she has something to free her.

The Elements Of Harmony

6 crystals of power that if put together can be used to destroy any manifest of evil and free those who have been taken by the darkness. It was her trump card for most situations like this, like on discord and that god of dragons and some weird bug queen that tried to destroy her allied country. The elements may have been in the castle but they are indestructible, plus I can summon them to me at any time.

Not one soul knows of this, not even luna.

All she had to do was face her sister, pop the elements behind her back and get her to lower her guard down just enough so she can use it. She started walking towards the exit of the tunnel that led into the throne room. The room was huge with 6 windows on each side, there were 2 thrones. The room had no light within it but from the moon's light, it was enough to see.
