Sticky Situation
Web Spinner grinned as he watched the bundle of silk swing back and forth on a small swing above him, occasionally reaching up a long spider leg to prod it and entice a moan from the occupant. Maybe next time.” Web said with a slightly cruel grin as he rolled over and began to cut the maremaids down and lowered them to the sea floor under Web’s home, as their cocoons landed in the water they began to dissolve and break apart until they were free. Web waved goodbye to his friends, Froth blushing deeply before they all flipped their tails up to splash him and swam away laughing.
Web brushed the dews of water off his face and settled for a nap in his home above the water. However, at the far end, in the fading light of the evening sun, a mare worked to get her boat out. Mackerel Monger gave a soft grunt of anger, pushing her cheeks out in annoyance as she stared at the dead engine at the back of her boat, which had refused to start up at her cranking attempts. The little Earth pony gave the engine a swift kick but that only served to get a black stain on her blue leg, which she wiped off with a cloth. Turning her head to look at the old engine from a different angle Mackerel took the side of the engine off and gave it a quick wipe around inside with her cloth, before closing it. Pulling the cord, the engine gave a wheezing cough before turning over.
“Atta girl.” Mackerel said patting the engine before heading to the wheel and setting off into the lake for some fishing at last, having wasted pretty much the whole day trying to fix the decrepit thing. As Mackerel sailed out, a pair of boats from a family of fishers rocked back in, raising their catch at the passing mare in mockery, Mackerel grumbled to herself, wishing she could batter their boats into the harbour, but she’d probably just capsize knowing her luck.
Mackerel sailed out into what seemed like an unused part of the lake, in fact as Mackerel sailed towards it she noticed the other sailors seemed to skirt around it as if it was riddled with a disease or something, but Mackerel could see the flow of many fish under her boat as she got close to a rock face. Smiling at her turn of luck Mackerel killed the engine and tossed a rusty anchor over the side to keep her from floating too close to the shallow water. Mackerel then tossed a row of nets over the sides and tied them up and then pulled out a deck chair, maybe she could get a few minutes rest before she left to go to bed… She fancied staying out here for the night actually, considering her boat was her home it wouldn’t do her any harm to stay out of the harbour for the day!
Mackerel pulled up her nets and gave a long sigh, they were all empty and it was quickly established why, the rope between the base of the nets had ripped apart at last and the fish had simply swum into the net then right back out when she began to lift them up. Mackerel sat back down and sighed sadly tossing the nets aside, rubbing her green eyes Mackerel looked up through at the dark sky as the stars began to come into view at last.
“Why do you hate me?” She asked them quietly and she bowed her head, her dreadlock mane falling down like thick seaweed around her.
Web peered from his cave at the rocking boat outside, nopony ventured too close to his cave, the town, somewhat, knew of his presence like the maremaids had, though the ponies knew because of the maremaids warning their friends. Maybe they too didn’t mind his presence now he had changed how he approached most situations? Then again, this mare wasn’t going into his cave, her boat resting nearby.
“Ah, she’s a fisher…” Web noticed then looked at her depressed face, didn’t seem like she was having the best of luck, in fact she seemed to be suppressing tears at this point “Maybe what you need is a night of relaxation.” Web thought to himself with a grin.
Scuttling up his silk, Web climbed to what could only be described as a window to his quiet cave, clambering through Web looked down, the closed sail of the boat rocked back and forth from the window, grabbing a strand of silk Web made a brace with the rock then caught the mast, tying it still so the boat didn’t rock away, once secure Web looked down at the mare below, she hadn’t even noticed her boat was now more stable despite the fact it should still be rocking left and right and not just up and down.

Mackerel turned to close it but Web casually tossed a string of webbing at it and braced the door open slightly, Mackerel tried to fight to close the door then gave up retreating deeper inside.
Mackerel curled up under her bed whimpering as Web cut the silk holding the door and squeezed himself into the cramped space. It wasn’t much, a tiny shower and toilet were fitted at the back, a counter, sink and fridge lining the left and Mackerel’s wardrobe and bed lining he right with a narrow space down the middle, the covers were also rather thin… In fact, they looked like they were empty, just blankets. “Broken net?” Web asked softly.
“You… You can talk?” Mackerel asked from her safe spot in fearful awe.
“Course, why don’t you come out, I’d much rather you do that than forcing me to have to drag you out.” Web said softly leaning forward to see Mackerel watching him.
“A-alright.” She whimpered pulling herself out, not wanting to be dragged out either. Mackerel jumped onto the bed trying to gain some height to match Web’s size but she broke the illusion easily by curling at the head of it as far from Web as she could get “What do you want?” Mackerel asked.

Mackerel squeaked as the web stuck to her chest, reaching up she tried to pull it off but just trapped her hoof to it before pulling it free “I play with you for the night, Froth and her friends are busy so I don’t have any company in my home tonight… Until you set down outside my house.” Web said pointing out the window towards his cave. Who was Froth?

“I dunno…” Mackerel said looking back at Web before he slowly stood up, Mackerel shrivelled back into her corner, more so when Web approached and thrice as much when he began to drip a greenish liquid from his mouth.
“This will calm you down.” Web cooed softly.

“Who said biting?” Web asked cupping Mackerel’s chin before he turned her head up “Just relax, it’ll feel nice.” Web whispered sweetly to Mackerel.
Mackerel tried to back up away from Web but bonked her head against her wardrobe, as her head moved forward instinctively Web leaned forward rapidly and planted his poison laced lips on Mackerel’s, forcing his tongue into her mouth quickly and leaning over her so gravity would make the venom drip into her mouth. Web broke the kiss slowly smirking at Mackerel.
“Go on, try it.” He cooed licking his lips “Or do you want the doctor to prescribe an injection?” Web threatened showing off four long needle like fangs he possessed, like some sort of vampire.
Mackerel whimpered then cracked and gulped, she’d take liquid form over injections, she’d never liked needles normally much less in her neck injected by a spider stallion! As the venom passed by her throat and into her stomach Web’s smile grew.
“Why don’t you tell me who you are?” Web said softly as his back to legs began to pull strands of silk out, the two in front of them taking the strands and working them together into sticky silken bandages.
“M-Mackerel Monger.” Mackerel said staring at the webbing Web was preparing for her.
“Nice to meet you Mackerel, I’m Web Spinner.” Web cooed as his front legs pulled the silk forward now it was sufficiently thick enough for its purpose of cocooning Mackerel.
