The Griffonia Kingdom Part 2

My legs were begining to ache. I didn't know for how long I had been walking maybe two or three hours. Relief washed over me as a small town came into view. Finally I could relax for a little while.

The streets were a lot less busy than in Griffonstone. I could see a old female griffin sitting in a rocking chair. A few younger griffins were walking around the village they stared at me curiously but looked away a few seconds later. I could hear another blacksmith busily working in the town.

Seem like smithing is popular in this country. Thus far the Griffonia kingdom seem to be stuck in the middle age era. I wonder what sort of technology they have here? Were they really like the middle age or was their technological advancement as weird as Equestria with a mix of every era?

I was about to ponder more when I heard a argument further into town. Curious I walked in direction of the voices. What I saw surprised me. There was a male griffin arguing with what looked like two horribly mutated green men.

The two things were more muscular than anyone I had ever seen their iron armors were barely able to contain their oversized body. One of them carried a huge axe while the other carried a very long and thick sword. Their armor and weapons were very crude with no decoration at all as if it was made at the last minute.

The young griffin standing in front of them looked like a lost kitty compared to the two giant and I say that knowing full well that he was larger than me. I didn't know where the griffin confidence came from he was clearly outmatched and the only weapon he had, if you could even called it that. Was a violin's bow.

Their conversation became heated and without warning one of the green man swung his axe at his smaller opponent.

The griffin effortlessly dodged the attack. Which is good because judging by the crater the weapon left on the ground no one would have survived that hit. I just now noticed that the Griffin had a violin strapped onto his back, that doesn't seem to be the type of things you should bring in a fight.

To my surprise he took the violin and played a short but intense tune. I was puzzled why was he wasting his time playing music in a situation like this? But it was then that the violin began to glow and a bolt of lightning struck the green beast.

The elecrticity coursed throught his armor. I was sure it would kill him but it mereley made the beast enraged more. The griffin played the same tune again but this time the monster was smart enough to get out of the way.

The half lion half eagle creature huffed in annoyance. He strapped back the violin on his back and took a fighting stance with his violin's bow. He pressed a small button on the side of the bow and I was shocked when a thin but long blade erupted from the violin's bow.

Who would be crazy enough to put a blade inside a violin's bow? I was about to watch more but I heard the clang of armor just behind me. On instinct I jumped away from the sound. A second later I was very grateful for my quick reaction because the second beast has snuck behind me and his blade created another crater where I was standing a second ago.

I tried to run away but the thing was surprisingly quick for how big it was. Having no other choice I flapped my wings and tried to get out of reach of his massive sword. I still didn't knew how to fly but I knew enough to stay afloat for a little while.

I wanted to fly far away from here but each time I tried to move my flying became dangerously unstable. After a while I gave up as much as I wanted to escape I could not afford to crash right now when a monster was waiting for me to come down.

The beast clearly getting annoyed at my antics grabbed his sword tightly and began to spin on himself. When he gained enough momentum he released his sword. With a yelp I dodged the projectile which planted itself on the tree behind me.

Unfortunately by dodging the attack I lost control of my flight and crashed on the ground with a thud. The beast grinned evily at me as he punched repeatedly the palm of his hand. But before he could reach me I heard the familiar tune once again and the green man was stuck by lightning.

I looked at the griffin. He was standing triumphantly over the body of the other beast. In a rage the monster ran toward the griffin and picked up the axe of his fallen comrade. I could tell my savior was skilled but he was tired from his first fight and he had to dodge every attack. He could probably not block any of them otherwise his small blade would break as if it was a twig.

I needed to help him, but how? I looked up at the sword still stuck inside the tree. It was a stupid idea but it was the only plan I had. I flapped my wings once again and came face to face with the hilt of the giant sword.

I putted both hooves on the sword and tried to pull as hard as I could. For a brief second I wondered if I would become King of Griffonia if I could take the sword. Nah probably not, this sword was nowhere near as fancy as Excalibur. The only thing I would become with a sword like that was a berserker or something.

When the sword finally came loose from the tree I instantly regretted it. This thing was heavy I was a few meters away from crashing once again before I regained enough focus to started ascending once again.

Slowly and painfully I made my way where the green man and the griffin were figthing. As I aproached the griffin saw what I was planning. His moral seem to lift now that a plan was in motion. He made sure that all the attention of the beast was on him.

The clang of metal hitting metal became more frequent but I was too focuse on my tasked to see if the battle was in our favor. Finally I arrived above the green monster. I took my time to aim the weapon at the right spot. We only had one chance at this after all.

When I felt confident I released the sword from my grip. With how heavy the weapon was it rapidly gained momentum before arriving at it's destination. I winced as the sword tored effortlessly trought the beast's helmet and planted itself into the monster's skull.

The thing never saw it coming his body fell on the ground with a heavy clang of his armor. With a sigh of relief I glided down on the ground and let myself fall on the soft, soft grass.

Well at least I couldn't say I never had an adventure anymore. I resist the urge to vomit as the adrenaline left my body. The last thing I heard before losing consciousness was the voice of the griffin.

''That was a nice save! You're alright for a pony...'' And then everything went black.

When I woke up it was now the afternoon. The griffin had started a fire and I was resisting the urge to gag as I smelled something fool burning. When I looked up I saw that he was burning the bodies of the two beasts.

I looked at the bodies at first with pride that I was able to kill something as though as this but then I felt guilt.

The griffin seemed to notice that something was wrong. ''Are you okay? I know you pony don't like the smell of meat burning.''

''I never killed someone before.'' I replied with a haunted voice.

''Don't worry about it they deserved it, bastards.'' He replied casually.

I looked at him aghast. ''They might have been assholes but they might have family waiting for them at home! They will never see them again! We just killed sapients being you can't just shrug it off!''

The griffin seemed confused at first but then realisation struck him. ''Wait are you by chance from the Gaia branch?''

''Yes? What does that have to do with anything?''

He shooked his head and looked at me with a condescending expression. ''Didn't they tell you we are immortal? Relax I did not have a finisher with me they will be okay, not that they deserve it.''

''Finisher?'' I asked, okay what the fuck was he talking about now? Maybe he's just trying to confuse me?

''A finisher is a magical crystal made in the form of a skull it absorb the soul of someone that's been killed and disperse their magic in the atmosphere permanently killing them. But since we did not do that they will come back.'' He responded in a matter-of-fact tone.

''Come back? How are they suppose to come back you're burning their body!''

He faceclawed. ''I swear they should make a The Kira Branch for Dummy book.'' He muttered under his breath. ''Look as long as these trolls have their memory intact their souls will recreated their body as if nothing happened. I don't know why you're so worried about them anyway they are Soul Reapers trolls.''

''Soul Reaper what's that?'' I asked.

''What do you mean what are the Soul Reapers do you live under a rock?!'' I gave him a deadpan galre. ''Oh right. The Soul Reapers are a terrorist organisation that collect dangerous things called the Shards of Life so they can overthrow The Council. These trolls we just fought? Their species represent at least half of the fighting power of the organisation.''

''Why were they after you?'' I asked curiously.

''You're one curious pony huh? Let's just say my family has something they value and let's leave it at that. So I answered your questions now it's my turn. What is a pony doing all the way in this small village? Not many ponies settle in Griffonia normally they go straight to Equestria, Neightpon or Prance.''

''I would have gone to Equestria direcly but it seem our friends the trolls have attacked the railroad all day and they had to cancel the train.''

He cocked his head. ''Why would you need the train anyway? You're a Pegasus no? Couldn't you just fly all the way?''

''Give me a break I just got this body today I don't know how to fly yet!'' I glared at him did he think I was stupid or something?

''Whoa, whoa! Don't get you panties in a twist! I just assumed you were arleady a pony before coming here!'' Oh... In retrospect that would make sense. ''So... What were you before coming here?'' He asked with a curious expression.

''... I was a human.'' I expected for him to act surprised instead he rolled his eyes.

''I should have guess as much, you guys are everywhere.'' He replied and then he looked as if he remembered something. ''Oh yeah! My name is Sonata by the way. What yours?''

''Peace Dreamer.'' I replied after a few seconds of hesitation. As mush as I dislike using the name that asshole had made for me it was a pretty cool name.

''That doesn't sound like a human name.'' Sonata replied.

''I would tell you but for some reasons I don't remember my name.'' I knew exactly why I forgot but I didn't really want to tell my situation to a total stranger.

''Well that suck but look on the bright side. With your new name you won't have any issue fitting in with the grass eaters.'' He then looked as if he had accidently said something offensive. ''Sorry I shouldn't call ponies that. I'm not a racist I swear but when you're surounded by bigots all your life you pick up some bad habits.''

I was curious about what he was talking about but I didn't ask I didn't want to touch that minefield.

With a sigh I lift myself on all four and began to walk away. ''Well it was nice to meet you Sonata but I should get going the day isn't getting any younger.''

''Wait!'' Sonata shouted behind me. I turned around to see him running at me. ''You're going to Equestria right? Let's go together.''

I looked at him in confusion. ''Why do you want to come with me? Don't you have people waiting for you at home?''

Sonata sighed. ''Look my dream has always been to play violin in front of a crowd. Unfortunately Griffonia doesn't care for art. All they care about is gold and violence. The only reason I was able to get this violin was because I could convince my family I could be a better warrior if I used musical enchantments.

''I wanted to go to Equestria for a long time but I was always afraid I would be all alone with a bunch of strangers once I got there. I know we just met but we are are brother of arms now and to griffins that means a lot. So can we travel together? At least until we reach Equestria?''

I didn't take a long time thinking about it. Thus far the road was pretty lonely and if I encountered anything as dangerous as these trolls I would be fucked without him. ''Sure you can come with me but I must warn you I don't know how to fly at all.''

Sonata smirked at that. ''I noticed I would say you were doing okay for a beginner but I was taught to not lie.''

I punched him on the shoulder but he only chuckle in returned. With that I resumed my journey to Equestria with a new ally in tow.
