"for the last time" A beige coated mare named Bonbon said to her friend "'HOOMANS' are NOT real".

"it's pronounced HUmans" A mint green mare named lyra fixed her and replied "and of course they are real, there's evidence everywhere".

"and besides" Lyra continued "i saw one, don't you remember?".

Lyra definitely remembered it...

It happened not too long ago, a few days before the 'dragon incident'...

Lyra wanted to practice on a new complicated piece on her lyre that she had to learn for a recital, she originally wanted to practice at home but bonbon just woke up and wanted some quiet so she tried to practice at different places, but no matter where she went something else interrupted her and forced her move to change location.

Eventually she found herself close to the very edge of the everfree forest.

Desperate, Lyra was about to put her lyre down and start practicing when suddenly...

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Joyfully screamed pinkiepie who just appeared out of nowhere.

"AHHHHHH!" Screamed Lyra who pinkie's sudden appearance startled her so much that instead of gently putting her lyre down with her levitation spell she threw it straight into the depth of the everfree forest.

"Opsie" said pinkie who was sincerely sorry while Lyra stared in disbelieve as her lyre flew straight into the everfree forest.

in a shear moment of panic (and probably stupidity) Lyra started running into the everfree forest without even realizing what she's doing due to the shock from the event.

"what are you doing!, this is reeeeally dangerous" screamed pinkie at her, but Lyra was so focused on retrieving her lyre she couldn't hear her warning.

And so Lyra ran straight into the everfree forest.

"IT'S FINE!" Thought Lyra who was still panicking "I WILL JUST GET MY LYRE TURN AROUND AND RUN BACK HOME BEFORE I'LL ENCOUNTER ANYTHING DANGEROUS!".

Lyra wasn't sure how long was she running for anymore "probably only a few minutes" she thought to herself, in a little calmer fashion.

Suddenly she saw her lyre laying there near a huge rock,
Lyra who was filled with relief picked up her lyre with a floating spell, turned back and started walking.

After walking for a while she wound up finding something...

She has encountered a rock...

A familiar looking huge rock.

"wait" Lyra said confused with a slight panic in her voice "is that the same rock as before or...".

Lyra was confused, she lost her Sense of direction and it felt as though the world is spinning around her while panic started filling the air.

"did i just went in a huge circle?" Lyra asked herself "or is it just a very similar looking rock?".

"yeah" she said to herself "it's probably just that" but it was too late because she wasn't sure anymore where did she came from and where she needs to go.

"HELP!" Lyra screamed loudly, hoping somepony will answer her and help her come back home.

But nopony replied her calls.

So she tried again this time even louder...

And still no response...

she realized eventually that nopony is going to answer her calls she decided to just pick a direction at random and hope for the best after all she's not going to get closer to ponyville by staying in place.

after a while of walking she saw a clearing in a forest and move towards it with her lyre in front, hoping it's the entrance to ponyville or any other pony inhabited place when suddenly she saw in the clearing a weird looking figure, like nothing she ever saw before.

A monster? A demon?

No, it was... something else...
It looked like a scale-less and muzzle-less dragon with a black smooth mane and blue clothes.

The figure looked in the other direction and couldn't see Lyra, but probably due to the noise from Lyra's steps the figure started turning towards her.

Panicked and scared Lyra quickly dropped her lyre in the clearing and hid behind the first thing she saw.

The figure slowly walked towards the lyre while scanning the area with her look.

Lyra was peeking from behind her hiding spot hoping that the figure won't notices her and saw the figure grabbing her lyre with it's... claws?

"no" Lyra realized "it's too soft looking and it doesn't have sharp ends".

The figure sat down and started playing the lyre in a way Lyra never seen before, the figure used it's claws to play the instrument but...

The piece it played was so complicated and so smooth that Lyra could of only dreamed to reach that level of skill... AND PLAYING THE LYRE WAS HER TALLENT!

The figure was so immersed in playing that it closed its eyes while playing and Lyra who was almost hypnotized by the music started without even noticing moving towards the playing figure.

Without a warning Lyra stepped and snapped a brunch.

Both the figure and Lyra froze in fear while looking at each other until eventually the figure dropped the lyre and ran outside of Lyra's view.

Finally Lyra unfroze and walk towards her lyre.

Just before Lyra completely entered the clearing she looked around her at the clearing and the figure was gone and all that was is a round not too big clearing in the woods with a huge boulder in the middle.

She just fully entered the clearing and was about to pick up her lyre when out of nowhere she felt a sudden burst of weakness and sickness hitting her.

Felt as though the world is spinning around her but this time for another reason and at the second she tried moving she fell on the ground.

Slowly losing her consciousness the last thing Lyra remember seeing was her shadow coming to life and turning into a similar but completely black pony as her while blankly staring at her.

And so Lyra went completely unconscious.

When she woke up she was in her bed with 4 ponies staring at her.

Those ponies were bonbon, pinkiepie, twilight and applejack.

"my head hurts" panicky though Lyra.

The 4 ponies where talking but she couldn't hear them over her ringing ears.

"my head hurts".

She felt her energy coming back to her.

"my head hurts".

The ringing weakened.

"my head hurts".

The focused came back to her eyes.

"my head hurts".

She was able to move her head.

"my head hurts".

She started thinking clearly.

"my head hurts".

The ringing stopped.

"my head hurts".

She started feeling better...

Her head pain stopped.

"...not responding, are you sure she waked up?" Lyra heard applejack say from mid-sentence.

"Lyra c-a-n y-o-u h-e-a-r m-e?" Pinkie asked.

"haa, whaa?, where?" Lyra straggled saying.

"she's responding!" Twilight said excitingly.

"OH dear equestria" said bonbon who was both exited and relived in the same time "Lyra are you ok".

"how... how did i get here?" Asked Lyra who was confused.

"well when you came back from the everfree forest and collapsed we just brought you over here" answered twilight.

"but..." stated Lyra who looked worried "i didn't come back from the everfree forest...".

The 4 ponies looked at her confused...

"what do you mean?" Asked bonbon "we saw you enter ponyville after walking from the everfree forest and then collapse".

"i do remember falling unconscious but i don't remember ever reaching to ponyville" Lyra said "or even exiting the everfree forest for that matter".

"wait, Lyra" said applejack "can you maybe try to tell us what in the name of equestria happened there?".

"yeaaa" said pinkie "i also want to know".

"we all want to" stated bonbon.

"i will try" said Lyra and started telling everything, from the figure to the shadow in great detail.

After the long explanation the 4 ponies didn't look any less confused.

"i don't think i ever heard of any of these creatures" said twilight "maybe we should look for them together at the library".

"ok" said Lyra "now that you know my story it's time for me to hear yours".

"oh oh" jumped pinkie "i want to tell".

"fine" said twilight "you can tell".

"yaaay!" screamed pinkie and started "so... after you ran like crazy into the everfree forest o decided that i need to tell it to somepony and ran towards sugarcube corner when i saw your roommate bonbon. so i asked her if she got any cupcakes left and she said no and asked me if i saw you today and i said "yea i just saw her running into the everfree forest" she started panicking and said that we need to find somepony to help find you. we decided to ask rainbow dash for help and when we found her she was with twilight and applejack so we asked them too. after we were just ready to start looking for you...".

"...you showed up out of nowhere walking slowly from the everfree forest with you lyre flouting behind you, we were just about to approach you when you collapsed" bonbon who interrupted pinkie's story.

"hey..." said pinkie annoyed "i wanted to tell that".

"wait" said Lyra and asked "where is rainbow dash then?".

"she just got bored of waiting for you to wake up, so she went to do 'something else'" explained twilight with some hint of disappointment in her voice.

The ponies talked a little more and the next thing Lyra knew she was in the library with twilight.

She looked flipped through book like 'the creatures of the everfree', 'monsters and you' and 'the explorer guide to the everfree' but none of them had anything even similar to the figure or to the shadow.

A weird looking old book caught her attention.

"oh..." said twilight "i don't think this book will help you".

"why?" Asked Lyra who understood the answer the second she opened the book on the first page.

The letters on the book have decayed and the only letter she could understand on the first page where: w, o, d, a, h, s, s, i, d, r, o, w, y, e, k, e, h, t.

After flipped through more pages and seeing only decayed letters and some gibberish she closed the book.

After some more books Lyra saw it...

It was a drawing of two creatures, one of them looked just like figure and the other looked a little different.

According to the chapter of the book the name of the creature was human and according to the drawings the one she saw was a female.

"I FOUND IT!" Lyra screamed with joy and accomplishment.

"really? you did?" Asked twilight who looked exited.

"yes" answered Lyra.

Twilight went to her looked at the book and asked what book is this, so Lyra looked at the book's cover and saw that its name was...

"it's called 'mythological equestrian creatures'" answered Lyra while realizing mid-sentence that there is a slight flaw.

"ahh..." said twilight "you know those creature aren't real... right?".

"i don't get it" said Lyra "it looks just like the creature i saw... it has to be real... right?".

"sorry but no" answered twilight "this book is about creatures who no pony have ever been even close to confirming, maybe it was a dream or maybe just you saw a similar looking creature".

"and..." She continued "we still need to find the shadow pony".

Lyra continued browsing books but after 4 books she gave up and came back to 'mythological equestrian creatures'.

The book fascinated her.

After seeing a drawing of a human sitting she tried it herself and found it incredibly comfortable.

The book told of two main kinds of human appearance in myths.

one told of a completely magicless creature before any pony, that disappeared while living their technology in huge ruins to be found and reverse-engineered by the pony-kind.
the book stated some proofs like doorknobs and a handle.

the other told of a dangerous carnivore monster that mass murdered everything they didn't like, including their own kind.
it couldn't be true... could it?

she got immersed in the book and without realizing it she finnished the entire human chapter and was reading it for 3 hours.

Lyra was about to thank twilight but when she looked at her she saw that twilight have fallen asleep while reading a book so she left a 'thank you' note and went home with a brand new obsession.

"first you only THINK you saw one, after all twilight said it could of been a dream" replayed Bonbon "secondly the 'evidence' you gave me where all just your weird conspiracies".

"and lastly" she continued "the U can be pronounced like double O like in 'sugar', it's not like you ever heard them pronounce their name, have you?".

Lyra have been beaten, she had no arguments left...

She really didn't know how to pronouns 'human'.

So this is the firts chapter of my first story.
so it's probably horrible

There might be some bad grammar and incorrect spelling because I have dyslexia and english isn’t my native language.

I ran the story trough word in order to fix most of the problems but there might be some I missed.

Please help me fact-check, fix some mistakes and maybe suggest better phrasing.

I will also change and add some things in the future.
