The following accounting is the first anypony has ever done on my father. The subject in question is Vatore Greymoon. It has been proven that he is the oldest living being on Equis and the last of his kind. Mother felt it was time for him to tell his story, before they retire from ruling Equestria.                                                                                                                                                        Princess Twilight Sparkle My life changed on July 2nd, 2016. I worked on a farm, so being by myself wasn't unusual. So come quitting time I parked the tractor and head home. As I was going along I noticed no traffic on the highway. Now that is usual because I was on a major U.S. highway. I tried calling my wife, but I got nothing. When I made it to town I was in shock. Vehicles where parked haphazardly all over the place. "What the hell" I though. This is getting creepy. Driving through town I decided to head to Wal-Mart. I walked in and it was empty. "What the fuck is going on" I said out loud. "Ah. It seems I missed one" came a voice over the intercom. "What is going on? Who the hell are you?" "I am humanity's sins and they have caught up with the human race." "Who are you? God?" "No, I am not God. Not that one anyway. Hmmm, welp I can say you are a lucky one. You will get to become immortal. I want you to watch the rise of new races. This isn't your planet anymore. So toodles for now. I'll be back in a few thousand years." I was stunned. My world is gone? My family, friends, they are all gone? I finally collapsed knowing that I was alone. When I woke up the next morning I made a vow. I would find the bastard and kill him for what he had done. I had plenty of time to look. For two weeks I gathered up what I would need to survive. When I was done I took a map and tried to find a good place to settle in and watch time pass. When I looked at the western half of the country I was drawn that way. The Rockies, perfect. With my destination decided I left the next morning. As I traveled, I started to notice man made objects disappear. I settled on a small town in southern Montana. When I got there I found a good spot, built me a cabin, then kicked back and watched the years pass. Nothin much happened for the next three thousand years or so, other than watching the landscape change. One day while I was out hunting, I noticed a group of animals in the distance. For the next four days I watched as they got closer. When they was a half day out I decided to go and find out what they was. What I found surprised the hell out of me. They was ponies, but not just any ponies. There was unicorns, pegasi I would guess and some that looked like a normal pony. Well I have some new neighbours I guess. They must have liked the area because they started setting up shop on a mountain, about ten miles from me. I wasn't worried about being found so I gave them a few years to settle before I got real curious. After fifty years of waiting I started snooping around their town. They called it Canterlot. I found out that they could speak, they was just as intelligent as me and they had a civilization going. About one hundred years later I overheard one of the big wigs say something about crowning two alicorns as their princesses. Never heard of a alicorn I thought to myself. Must be a big deal if they want them to rule. I soon put the news out of my mind till two weeks later when I found out what a alicorn was. I was going home from another day of snooping, when two large ponies landed in front of me. The first thing I noted was that both had wings and horns. I wonder if these two are the alicorns the others have been talking about? As I was studying them they was trying to do the same to me, but I had my cloak on and was glad I did. The bigger one was a pure white with a pink mane and tail. I'm 6'3" so her eye level was even with my shoulders. The other was a deep blue with a light blue mane and tail. She was a bit smaller, maybe mid chest on me. Deciding to head off any hostilities I spoke first. "Okay, look ladies. I don't want any trouble. I just want to get home before dark." "We have seen you sneaking around. Who and what are you" the white one asked. Sighing, I rubbed my hands over my face and took off the cloak. "My name is Vatore and I'm human." "That's impossible. Humans disappeared over three thousand years ago" The blue one replied. "Bullshit" I retorted. "My race didn't disappear. They was wiped out. I'm the last human in existence." "How is that possible. We know from the little knowledge we have that your race wasn't immortal." "True, but the bastard that did the deed made me immortal for his sick pleasure. I've been alone since then." "How are you not insane" the blue one asked. "It wasn't easy" I said with a rueful smile. "I dedicated myself to learning different skills and planning on how to get my revenge. That is a great motivator." "Violence will only beget more violence, Vatore" the tell one said. "True, but I believe I have every right. That.... monster took everything from me. My wife, kids, family and friends. Not to mention my world. It gave me this curse I have now. I've tried to end my life, but I nothing worked." "Immortality is only a curse of you have nopony to share it with." "I don't have anyone to share it with. I've been alone since that day." "You no longer have to be alone if you wish it. Sister and I are immortal as well.  You have the two of us as friends if you wish it. I am Luna and my sister is Celestia." I stood there stunned. They was offering me something I haven't had in a very long time. "You would offer your friendship to someone you don't even know really?" "Yes" Celestia said nodding her head. "Neither of us likes to see somepony suffer. You have been alone for far too long. We would gladly be your friends if it makes your life better." I stood there in shock from what the sisters was offering me. I wouldn't be alone anylonger I though. "I believe we broke him sister" Luna said giggling. "I....I would like that. I'm miss talking to others. Its boring carrying on a conversation with myself." I looked at the sky for a moment. "It's getting dark, so I need to head home. The real nasties come out at night. If either of you need me, I live five miles that way" I said pointing "right in the edge of the forest." "It was a pleasure to meet you Vatore. I hope we can talk again." "It was a pleasure for me as well Celestia. I will see the two of you later." When I finished they bowed their heads to me and took off. I hope this works out I mused to myself. I'm so tired of being alone. //-------------------------------------------------------// Into the Light //-------------------------------------------------------// Into the Light It was a couple of weeks before I spoke to the girls again. When I did I was speechless. I was doing maintenance on my cabin, when I heard flapping. Stopping my work I walked around to the front. The sight I witnessed was shocking. Celestia and Luna was standing there, but they had changed. Both had gotten bigger and it it was possible, they where more beautiful. Celestia could now look me straight in the eyes. Her mane and tail was now multi colored and seemed to move on its own. Luna's mane and tail had turned into the night sky, with a life of its own as well. "You two have to be the most beautiful beings I have ever seen" I said without thinking. Both blushed heavily from my words and was pawing the ground. "Well, how do you like being princesses?" "It's different" Luna said. "That it is" agreed Celestia. "I guess I have to start addressing both of you as befitting your stations" while bowing to them. "Anypony else that's true, but for you. You are our friend. That makes a difference to us." Celestia walked to me and putting a hoof under my chin, gently pulled me up. "You never have to bow to us Vatore." "If that is your wish girls, then I won't argue with you." "Good. Now there is something we would ask of you." "And what would that be Luna?" "We would like you to come live at the castle with us. You have been alone for long enough." I was shocked needless to say. They want me to come and live with them? "Why? We barely know each other. This is only the second meeting between us." "You are lonely, have a kind heart and treat us as equals. We don't want to see a kind soul suffer as you have" answered Celestia. "Are you both sure? I...what will the others think? I don't want you two getting hassled over this. I don't want to be a burden." "You will not be a burden. If you want, we can come up with a position for you" countered Luna. "I have been out here to keep to myself. I didn't want to cause a panic with everyone around. Do you believe this will work?" "Yes it will. Only those that need to know, will be told. We can gradually integrate you into society." "Alright, if that's what the two of you want." The smiles I got from them warmed my old heart. "Ok then. What is it I will be doing for you." "Royal advisor and personal guard to both of us." I raised a eyebrow. "You had this planned out didn't you?" The sheepish grins I got back told me the story. "Ok girls I'll accept on two conditions. First, we hide nothing from each other and two, you don't use your titles against me. Those are main two. Anything else can be worked out later. Is that agreeable to you?" The sisters looked at each other for a moment. Luna spoke first. "Welcome home Vatore." After the shock of my introduction, I got right to work. My first order of business was establishing a way for us to defend ourselves. So, I started up three branches of guards. The first was the Royal wing. It's responsible for the defence of the kingdom and the citizens. The next two wings was the Solar and Lunar wings. Of course they was specifically for the princesses themselves. The Royal unit was the larger of course, because of its mission. As the years passed, I implemented more ideas that the sisters liked. One of them was to explore the forest I lived near. It has been nearly a century since I came to live at the castle and the forest had gone wild in that time. It never had a name till a unicorn friend of ours named it. He called it the Everfree. Thirty years after the project started one of the ponies on the mapping team burst into the throne room during court. After he got his breathing under control, he told us that a cavern had been found with a strange tree in it. The meeting that followed was intense. The sisters decided to send our most knowledgeable mage at the time to study the find. His name was Starswirl the Bearded. Six months after he left, Starswirl returned and gave his report. He called the find The Tree of Harmony. It's magical power was so great, he suggested that we build a castle on the site. After some tense discussions, the sisters okay the project. For ten years, Starswirl was the overseer for the construction of the new casle. When it was done we moved the capital to the Everfree castle as called. For almost a century and a half, we was in that castle. Then the day I had waited for came. I woke up, got dressed and went to join Tia and LuLu for breakfast. We was enjoying the morning when the captain of the Royal guard trotted in. "Mornin Needle, what's up?" "Tor, we are getting reports of strange weather from all over Equestria." "What do you mean strange?" "Pink clouds raining chocolate milk." "Are you fucking with me Needle?" "No I'm not Tor. There are too many reports." I looked over at Tia and LuLu. "How long has this been going on" asked Luna. "At least a week Princess." I looked over to the nearest guard. "Go and get me Gust and Knight." The guard saluted and galloped off to retrieve the Captains. When they showed up ten minutes later I started issuing orders. When I was done we headed to the throne room to start our day. Three hours later a explosion rocked the castle. "What the hell was that?" "I'll go and find out, Sir."  Right about the time the guard reached the doors, they blew inwards taking out the guard and knocking me down. "Ah, Princesses. I've been looking for you. I have come to talk to you about a change in management."  It was him. The bastard that destroyed my world was now in front of me. "Who are you" Celestia asked. "You can call me....Discord." //-------------------------------------------------------// Sic Semper Tyrannis //-------------------------------------------------------// Sic Semper Tyrannis Luna's pov "My name is.....Discord." When he announced his name, the pile of debris that Vatore was buried under exploded. The next I knew, Discord was launched through the wall next to the door. I had never seen that kind of strength from him. His face was twisted in rage. "Both of you leave, now. Evacuate the castle and head back to Canterlot." "No we won't Tor. You need our help with him." "Luna, dont argue with me. This fight has been three thousand years in the making. I finally have the bastard that ended my world in sight." Sister gasped at his words. "He's the one responsible for your races destruction?" "Yes he is. I recognized that voice. Its burned into my memory. Now go. Take everyone back to Canterlot. I have a feeling this castle will not be standing in a few hours." "Very well Tor. How long should we wait for you." "In the morning at the earliest. NOW GO!" Vatore's pov I watched as my two closest friends evacuated the Everfree. Time to get busy I thought to myself smiling. "Oh Discord. Come on out so I can kick your FUCKING ASS! I've got a lot of pent up rage for you." "You think you stand a chance against ME? You're insane. Nopony on this planet can harm me. I am a GOD." "Let's put that to the test shall we" I said rushing him. Over my long life I had perfected my own fighting style. I borrowed from all of the different styles to form a purely offensive system designed to use my greatest attribute. My stamina. It was a flowing system of fast strikes that kept my opponent on the defensive. My opening punch he caught with his left paw? "Please, you can do better i hope?"  He wasn't expecting the kick to the shin. I opened up on him then. For five minutes I kept the pressure up until he finally broke my rhythm. "Enough of this. Time to join your rotten race."  Discord stepped back and snapped his fingers. When he didn't get the result he wanted he was confused. "You should be dead. Why doesn't my magic work on you?" "Your magic made me what I am, remember. I learned to control what you made me. You have no power over me Discord." "Well then. I guess it's the old fashioned way then"  he said grinning. He snapped his fingers again and a massive great sword appeared in his grip. Next thing I know, he slams the flat of the blade into me and I'm sent flying through the back wall of the throne room. The first wall hurt, the second was just as bad, but the third. It damn near knocked me out. "One of many things I'll be feeling in the morning" I said to myself. Regaining me feet, I charged back towards Discord drawing my own sword. It was a Zweihander of my own design. It was five and a half feet long and weighs about seven pounds. It takes considerable skill to wield one and I had plenty of practice. I had a bit of a advantage with my sword being smaller, but not by much. I hope I survive this battle. I owe those two girls so much. Canterlot Castle. Four hours after the evacuation of the Everfree I was standing at the windows next to our thrones looking out towards the Everfree. "I hope Vatore is okay sister." "I do too, Luna." I had turned back to my sister while we was speaking when the wall twenty feet away from me exploded inwards. Looking through the dust I could see somepony laying on the floor on the other side of the throne room.I couldn't believe my eyes, it was Tor. The hilt of his broken sword was still clutched in his hand. His armour was shattered and blood was running from multiple cuts and stabs. "TOR?"  At my sister's shout, she started running towards him when he held up a hand. "Stay where you are Tia." Watching in awe, he stood up slowly. How could he stand with the wounds that ravaged his body I wondered. That is till a sword flew through the breach and pinned Tor to the wall. "That should hold you."  When those words rang out I turned. Discord calmly settled down to the floor. He was in the same shape as Tor. Multiple cuts and stabs covered his body too. "I'm not done with you yet, but I think I'll take care of my business before you interrupted it. Now be a good human and just watch." When he turned towards us, I could see his evil intentions in his eyes. "I created this world so I could have some toys. I've come to collect those toys, starting with you two."  The sickening sound of a blade being removed from flesh interrupted his discourse. When he turned, I got to watch Discords own sword erupt from his back. Shock crossed his muzzle as Tor looked at him in utter distance. "You will never touch them or anyone else. My world's revenge is now complete."  Stepping back, he swung his broken blade and removed Discords head. Looking down at the headless body at his feet, Tor smiled. "If it's alright with you two, someone take me to the healers" I watched as his eyes rolled back and call. "GUARDS. BRING THE HEALERS."
