Just as there are secrets, there is also suspense that comes along with those secrets. Just as you will experience the suspense of the many dark secrets of Equestria, one of Celestia's most faithful students will feel it 10 times stronger than you do! Just as Twilight Sparkle trusted in her teacher, you must trust in me dear reader. You must remember to trust that I will guide you on this journey. Now that I see that I have gained your trust, we can begin our story at the very beginning! After Twilight Sparkle helped defeat the mighty foe known as Kind Sombra, she was invited to the castle for an award ceremony.
"Twilight Sparkle, you are my prized pupil, even in times of trouble & doubt you have triumph in your tasks and have made me very proud to be your teacher." Princess Celestia told Twilight, as she was awarded the Equestrian Medal of Heroes. You have shown bravery, courage, and leadership in times of woe, and for that I heard by award Twilight Sparkle the Equestrian Medal of Heroes."
The whole room was filled with the sound of applause as they cheered for Twilight and her greatest accomplishment yet. After the ceremony was over, Twilight had asked to talk with Celestia personally.
"I really don't understand why you gave me this medal instead of spike, he's the one that saved the crystal empire from King Sombra." Twilight said to Celestia .
The two ponies began to walk through the many hallways in Canterlot Castle.
"I am aware of that, and he certainly seems to be enjoying the praise he is receiving from the crystal ponies." Princess Celestia replied, remembering those many times she had caught Spike gloating about his triumph against King Sombra.
"he he, definitely." Twilight said, smiling at Princess Celestia who usually always made her laugh.
"The reason that I awarded you with this medal is because you have proven that you are more then ready to take on more challenging tasks, and most importantly you have proven to yourself what your capable of." Princess Celestia said.
"Umm, I still don't quite understand." Twilight said with a puzzled face that she makes when she doesn't understand something.
"Oh Twilight, I remember when I was just like you. I was youthful and daring, and took on any challenge that came my way. After I faced one of my most difficult tasks, my teacher said I was ready." Princess Celestia explained.
Twilight looked at her teacher and asked, "Ready? Ready for what?"
Princess Celestia chuckled and said, "You will find out in time, but for now you must be patient."
"I will be!" Twilight said confidently.
Princess Celestia remembered all those times she had counted on her and her friends to save Equestria and they had blown away her expectations, she said, "It was a shame your friends from ponyville could not attend the ceremony."
Twilight frowned and replied, "They had to take care of a, "Situation"."
Princess Celestia rolled her eyes at Twilight and asked, "Let me guess, another bug bear?"
Twilight laughed and said, "Close, I think is a Crocotta or something."
Princess Celestia looked confused and said, "I don't think I've heard of those."
"I don't think you would want to." Twilight replied.
"Well, I have to take care of some important things for now but I will see you later." Princess Celestia said.
"Okay, I'll catch up with you later", Twilight said to the princess as she walked down a long dark hallway and waved goodbye. As the princess walked away, she became smaller and smaller until finally she was out of sight.
Twilight began to walk towards her suite that she had been staying in for the past days. It had slightly roundish purple doors with a swirl design on the exterior side of the doors. Twilight suddenly hears painting coming from somewhere around the hallways that surrounded her suite. It became louder and louder until she could finally see what was making the sound. Spike ran up to Twilight painting heavily as well as sweating from his spikes to his dragon feet.
"T-Twilight, I-I'm here." Spike said still trying to catch his breathe.
"Oh hey Spike, I thought you were back in Ponyville helping our friends with the Crocotta?" Twilight replied to Spike as she picked him up and put him on her back.
Spike began to talk really fast as he usually tend to do when he's nervous, "Well I was, but then I thought about you and how you must be nervous about accepting your award but I wasn't there to calm you down and then I also thought about how I usually distract the guests at parties so you don't get bombarded by guests trying to take your picture or something so I started freaking out and told our friends that I had to go see if you were alright!"
Twilight opened the doors to her suite and set Spike down on his bed.
"Well don't you worry Spike because I was just fine at the ceremony and plus, Princess Celestia helped bail me out with the guests." Twilight said smiling at Spike.
Spike frowned at the thought of Twilight not needing him like she usually does.
"But, I'm glad that your here because I'm going to need your help with something else, after all you are my #1 assistant!" Twilight told Spike as she set down her crown she had been wearing during the award ceremony.
"Hey Twilight, what was Princess Celestia talking to yo about anyways?" Spike asked as he was trying to get comfy in his bed.
"Hey wait a minute, how do you know about the talk I had with Princess Celestia?" Twilight asked curiously.
"The maids in this castle know everything!" Spike said.
Twilight rolled her eyes at Spike and took out a book from her luggage bag.
The two suddenly heard a strange noise that bounced off the castle walls all the way to their suite.
"Did you hear that?" Spike asked looking at Twilight with a frightened face.
"I was gonna ask you the same question!" Twilight said, also sporting a worried face.
Twilight opened the doors and carefully looked down the hallway. The sound was there again, but this time a strange purplish greenish light was reflected onto the castle walls as well.
"I don't know what that is Spike, but I think we should find out!" Twilight said as she slowly crept down the castle hallways. Spike was slowly following her as well.
"Are you sure about this Twilight?" Spike asked as he quietly crept behind Twilight.
"I'll have to get back to you on that." Twilight said, unsure if following mysterious sounds and lights was her brightest decision ever.
As they began to approach Princess Celestia's chambers the sounds became louder and louder.
"Umm, Spike?" Twilight said
"Yeah?" Spike answered.
"I think the sounds are coming from Princess Celestia's chambers." Twilight told Spike with a worried expression on her face
"I'm not so sure that it would be a good idea to go in there!" Spike said warning Twilight.
Reader, you must understand that even the most well kept secrets will come out at some point, but what Twilight is about to discover will change the course of history forever!
"Twilight lets just head back to our suite and get some rest!" Spike said, but there was no response from Twilight. "Twilight? Twilight!!" Spike called out to her but there was still no response. She began to walk closer and closer towards the door. Spike tried to pull her away but he couldn't get her to stop trotting towards the door. Twilight slightly open the door to where she could see through a crack in the door.
"Spike, I think you should see this!" Twilight said. Spike ran up to her and looked through the door.
She could see Princess Celestia practicing a few spells that didn't look too familiar with Twilight. Then Celestia cast a spell using some sort of magic that made a strange map appear on the floor. The map seemed to cover a huge part of land that was probably even bigger than Equestria itself.
"If only you could all see what I have become, I have changed my destiny!!!" Princess Celestia muttered to herself. Celestia then opened her wings and cast a dark spell that covered the room in clouds of black darkness. The darkness seemed to then devour the kingdom that appered on the map. "Mwahahaha" Celestia gave an evil cackle and sent a shock wave in the castle that blasted Twilight and Spike away from the door!
"W-What was that!!!" Spike said, practically shaking with fear.
"Dark Magic" Twilight replied.
Reader, now you know that every action has its consequences, but this is only the beginning!
