1 month has passed since your high school graduation. You were enjoying your time off school during that month, exploring your hometown and breathing in the fresh air. You even stopped by your favorite restaurants once a week, enjoying your favorite meals. You even went to the movies to see some pretty good movies. But eventually, all the good things come to an end. Eating at your favorite food joints and watching new movies had really cleaned out your wallet. Now you had new reasons to visit your favorite food joints, movies and other places in a way that really bugged you: to apply for a job.
But of course, you had no luck. You put out the resumes so they'd hopefully hire you, but you got no phone calls. This really pissed you off because they wouldn't give you a chance to prove yourself. You were a decent enough guy who would work hard, but the business owners were just too stubborn and too blind to see that. Talking with your mom made things a little better. She would see how hard you worked in trying to find a job and decided to help you in getting hired faster.
You kept applying for jobs, but no one was returning your application, that's when your mom uses her knowledge and "persistance" to help change some of their minds. Naturally, from what you could hear over their phone conversation, they were really spooked like they were having a lawsuit filed against them.
Finally, one day, at around 8:30 A.M, you were awoken to the sound of your cell phone ringing. You looked to see it was a private number, obviously a telemarketer company. You answered the phone.
"Back the hell off, or you're gonna get an ass whipping from me!" you shouted before hanging up. You tucked back into your blanket and tried to fall back asleep, but then your phone rang again. you check and it was a private number again. Feeling a bit angry, you answered and told them off again. "I thought I told you to never bother me like this!"
You waited for a response, but then, suddenly, the entire world around you froze. You looked in confusion. Then out of nowhere, your cell phone flashes a bright white light, blinding you and sending you straight into a blank white void. What felt like 5 minutes later, your eyes opened up to the orange sky as the sun was disappearing over the horizon. But then your eyes shot wide open, you weren't in your room anymore, but outside. You patted yourself all over your body to see if you felt anything missing, luckily everything was in tact. You breathed a sigh of relief. Now all that was left on your mind was to find out what this place was and how you wound up here in the first place.
You picked yourself up, scanning your surroundings. There were mountains over the horizon, a strange looking forest that you definitely didn't want to go into and a small town just a small distance away from where you stood. You had no other choice so you walked over to the small town, unaware of what was in store for you. But you still stayed cautious in case the folks weren't friendly.
At first glance, You couldn't believe what your eyes were seeing. Everyone around you were anthropomorphic horses with huge, beedy eyes that almost seemed... adorable. They even gave you a shocked expression when they saw you. You backed up bit, thinking they might come after you with pitchforks and torches. 'Wait... Tartarus? What the hell kind of a name is Tartarus?' you thought to yourself. You looked up and had your mind blown by yet another anthro horse with wings pinkish-magenta eyes, light blue fur and a Rainbow style hair color. She wore a black tank top and some training shorts, looking like she worked out at a gym. She had a bit of muscle tone on some parts of her body. "Um... I'm a human if that's what you're wondering about me. But, who are you?" you ask.
"Heh, the name's Rainbow Dash. Fastest pegasus in Ponyville and probably ALL of Equestria." she boasted.
"That's right, she's one of the best fliers anypony's ever seen!" exclaimed another female voice. But this one sounded younger. You tilted your head towards your left and saw another female pegasus. But she looked way different than Rainbow Dash. She had purple eyes, orange fur, purple hair and looked like she was about 12 or 13. She had on a black short sleeve shirt and blue jean shorts.
"Oh... and who might you be?" you ask the younger pegasus.
"My name's Scootaloo. Pleased to meetcha...hairless monkey?" Scootaloo replied with a slight chuckle. You just couldn't help but let out a simple laugh after she said that. "HEY! What's so funny?!" she asks, feeling a bit made fun of.
"Sorry about that. But calling me a "hairless monkey" just sounded funny. I'm actually what my people call a human." you say, along with telling them your real name.
"Oh, well, pleased to meetcha. Hey listen, I don't think the residents here in Ponyville are gonna hesitate to call for the Wonderbolts, or even the Royal Guard for that matter." Rainbow whispers.
"Wonderbolts? Royal Guard? Are they the law enforcers?" you ask.
"Mostly, yeah. But, tell you what. I'll let you crash over at my house in Cloudsdale. There's plenty of room for one more roomate if you want a place to stay."
"You're...okay with a complete human stranger living with you in your house?" you ask, skeptically.
"Sure... unless you'd rather stay and get your flank taken by the Wonderbolts or the Royal Guards. Totally your call."
You didn't even wait 3 seconds.
"Lead the way. I'm not ready to die.... at least not yet."
"Alright then, grab onto my shoulders." Rainbow says, turning her back to you and extending her wings. You were a bit confused by what she told you, but you figured you'd just do it so you did. Rainbow Dash wasn't kidding when she said she was the fastest pegasus in Ponyville and probably all of... whatever she called this other place.
You could swear that you were probably 5 or 10,000 feet off the ground and suddenly, this huge, cloudy city in the sky captures your eye as Rainbow Dash flies towards it.
Once there, Rainbow Dash lands on the doormat at her doorstep. "You'd best hang on until we get inside. Unless you'e willing to try and walk on a cloud, even if you don't have wings." she said.
"What do you mean?" you ask.
"What she means to say is that pegasi have the abilities to stand on clouds, among other things." Scootaloo explains.
"Um... okay. So, I know this might sound rude, but, when Rainbow Dash flew us up here, why did you hold onto her hand, don't you have the ability to fly?" you ask her.
"The thing is... I can barely levitate off the ground, I can't fly all that well." she replies, a bit sad about her one flaw.
"Oh, I see. Well, if you ask me, I think you can fly, you're just a... a late bloomer. It just takes time for you to finally sprout your wings and pretty soon, you might become just as talented as the fastest flier in Ponyville." you say.
"Heh, you're quite the pep-talker, Bolt." Rainbow says to you.
"Bolt?" you ask.

"Sorry about the mess, Rainbow Dash and I are hardly ever home these days. I usually hang out with my friends Applebloom and Sweetie Belle, playing games and hanging out at the clubhouse. Rainbow Dash is usually out working on weather control, fixing up friendship problems and training at the Wonderbolts Academy." Scootaloo explains.
"I see. Well, since you're letting me stay, how about I help clean up a bit." you offer.
"You sure about that, Bolt? I'd hate to have you cleaning up after our messes. You're our guest." Rainbow says.
"It's cool. I can handle it. I've had to pick up after my own drunken dad whenever he'd come home drinking. He's been like that ever since my mom divorced him months ago where I live." you say.
"Well...if you want to, I suppose I could let you." Rainbow says, still unsure if she's making the right choice. You nod and began to wash the dirty dishes thoroughly, while Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo cleaned up their living room. While you were washing the dishes, you started thinking to yourself how you got into this town and if there was a way to return home. There were a few things you loved back at home you really missed, including your favorite places to visit and your mom. But then again, you're glad you ended up in this new place since you didn't have to deal with stubborn-ass business owners.
You stared out the kitchen window and saw the beautiful orange sky slowly becoming a midnight blue color. There was something about staring at the early night sky that made you feel relaxed. Your thoughts got interrupted when you heard a crash from upstairs, causing you to jump out in surprise.
"What the hell just happened? I'd better check to see if they're alright." you said, putting down the sponge and wash cloth. You rushed over to the living room to find Scootaloo staring up at the 2nd floors. "Scootaloo, what happened?" you ask.
"Rainbow Dash said she needed to go clean her room after she finished up the living room. But something tells me her room's not gonna back down without a fight. Think you can go check on her?" Scootaloo asked.
"Sure, You just stay here and relax while I check on Rainbow Dash, then afterwards, I'll get some dinner started." you reassure her, earning a nod from the little filly. Afterwards you headed upstairs and down the hall. At the end of the hall on your left, you saw what looked liked Scootaloo's room since her room was only partly messy, but easy enough to walk through. But on your right, was definitely Rainbow Dash's room, but the floor couldn't even be seen. It was all covered in old trophies, shake weights and some dirty laundry. Coming out of the clothes was a hand trying to reach out for something to grab onto her.
"Hello?" muffled Rainbow's voice. "Can anypony help me out? I seem to be stuck in between a rock and a hard place." she asked with a slight chuckle at the end. You took a few steps into the room, trying to squeeze through all the junk that's scattered until you were within reach of Rainbow Dash's hand and grabbed her, pulling her out of the pile. Rainbow Dash chuckled and helped you out of her room. You thanked her and walked down the hall and downstairs, where Scootaloo was waiting patiently on the couch. You walked into the kitchen and resumed washing the dishes.

After the dishes were done, you checked the fridge to see what you could cook up. Any meal you made at home was decent enough to fill you up to the top. You took out a few fruits and vegetables and some bread from the bread cabinet. You checked one of the cupboards and a few bags of potato chips. You took those out and got got a few bowls and plates out.

30 minutes later, you finally had dinner ready for you, Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash. The food consisted of guacamole with some potato chips as a side dish, grilled cheese sandwiches and a bowl of salad. For drinks, you made three mango smoothies.
"Hey, Scoots, Dash, I got the grub ready!" you called out.
"Sweet! I can't wait to eat, I'm starving!" Scootaloo says. Right as she said that, Dash comes flying down the stairs literally. She's able to get to the kitchen with Scootaloo at the same time and they both just gawked at the spread you made. "Well, I suppose all that working out and cleaning my room upstairs has taken its toll on these ol' hands of mine. Come on, Scoots, the sooner we clean up, the faster we can eat." Rainbow says to her adopted sister.
"You got it, Dash!" Scootaloo replies. Rainbow carried Scootaloo upstairs in the blink of an eye. You chuckled at how spunky Rainbow Dash always seems to be, as well as being funny and adorable. She and Scootaloo made their way back downstairs with their hands both looking and smelling fresh.

"A cooking class, huh? Glad you took up one. Every time I tried to cook up something, it'd burn up. And trust me, Bolt, it ain't no laughing matter since I almost burnt down my house a few times." Rainbow says.
"Hey, I completely understand. I mean, back when I was still in school, I still had my strengths and weaknesses. I could cook, run fast, play volleyball and swim pretty good. The only thing I wasn't good with was football, soccer and tennis." you say.
"Well, Bolt, if it helps, I'll teach you how to play. Trust me, if you let me, I'll turn you into a football, soccer and tennis player so great, the other ponies won't know what hit them! What do ya say?" Rainbow asks, enthusiastically.

You took a moment to think it over. You weren't good with football, soccer, and tennis, mostly because your gym teacher kept saying how they were like every other sport. Obviously, he didn't know what he was talking about because, to you, all you remember was losing your footing and either fall flat on your ass or your face. Rainbow and Scootaloo resumed eating their dinner, too. Eventually, the only thing left in the bowls and on the plates were the stains and the crumbs.
Rainbow and Scootaloo got up and stretched out their arms and their backs.

"Yeah, it was really good. You should cook food like that more often." Scootaloo says.
"Thanks, Scoots. Maybe tomorrow, I can cook up some breakfast for the three of us. But for now, I think we've all had a long day and should really get some shut eye." you imply.
"Bolt's right. A champion does need their rest. Come on, Scoots, let's go." Rainbow grabbed Scootaloo by the hand and walked upstairs together until they were out of your eyesight. You stayed behind to clean up the table and wash the dishes once again. While you were cleaning up, a lot of these unexpected feelings came flooding into your mind.
