The Generation Gap: The Time For Everypony To Know

A few days ago...

"I don't understand!" Twilight Sparkle cried. "What's going on here?" She had been watching her young niece Flurry Heart when all of a sudden a rose pink Earth Pony had come barreling in, startling Flurry Heart, who started crying. Pinkie had somehow jumped out the bookcase and started calming her, while two earth ponies, one pink and the other mint-green, were hyperventilating. Spike had walked in at that second, stepping on Flurry's Waamy, and sent it flying into the mint-green earth pony. She fell backwards and crashed into the bookcase. Now the seven of them were standing in a sea of knocked-over books.

"Minty, Minty, MINTY!" the pink earth pony said, rolling her eyes. The rose earth pony started comforting the mint-green pony, who looked like she was about to cry.

"I'm so sorry!" she said. "I didn't mean... I know I'm a klutz, ok?!" She started to walk away, but Twilight stopped her.

"No, no, don't be like that. Anypony could've done that." Twilight used her magic to levitate the books back on the shelves. "Now, why don't you tell me who you all are? I've seen her-" she pointed at the rose pink Earth Pony- "but I don't know her name, or any of yours!"

"Well I'm Minty!" said the mint green pony. Appropriate, thought Twilight, taking in the pony's mint-green coat and peppermint cutie mark.

"I'm Toola Roola," said the rose pink pony. Her cutie mark was a paintbrush. Must be an artist, thought Twilight.

"And I'm..." The pink pony took a deep breath...

"PINKIE PIE!!!" She was joined by Pinkie, who somehow had come out of the bookcase again. Why does Pinkie like hiding in the bookcases so much? thought Twilight. Then she laughed.

"Pinkie, wait your turn. Plus, I already know your name. I'm talking to the pink pony right here." Twilight pointed to the pink pony who was now looking at the books in the library. That's when Twilight noticed the pony's cutie mark. "Wait, what? How is that... how is that possible? Pinkie, she has your cutie mark!"

"I know, silly! She's me!" Pinkie took out the book Party Planning for Fillies and started reading it. Twilight took it away.

"What do you mean... she's you?" Twilight asked the pouting party pony, who clearly wanted her book back. "Explain, then you get your book."

"Well apparently Trixie did something." Pinkie managed to grab the book and run off. The last words Twilight heard were "ASK HER ABOUT IT!!!!"

"Trixie? Why would Trixie want to clone ponies? Also, if she really is Pinkie Pie, she looks nothing like her!" Twilight started pacing. Then she stopped short. "By the way, has anypony seen Trixie?"

"Trixie? No, why?" answered Toola Roola. Minty just shrugged, while Pinkie said something about crashing in the park after following Minty and Toola Roola through a glowing orb thing. Twilight groaned.

"I'm going to find her. Also, if Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, the other Pinkie, Rarity, or Applejack enter this room looking for me, tell them to come back later. Stay right here! This is a really bad position you put me in, Trixie!" Muttering the last part, Twilight Sparkle had left the building.

"Did she say..." Minty and Pinkie stared after her, but Toola Roola stopped them.

"It's not our Rainbow Dash. Trust me. And besides, she said to stay-" She was cut off as the other two ran out the door. "-here. GUYS!!!" Running after them, she started thinking. Why did Trixie bring me here? Why Minty and Pinkie Pie? Well, Pinkie wasn't supposed to come, but still! Also, what's going to happen now? Will I ever go back to my Ponyville? Maybe something else will happen... She ran down the street, completely unaware that something else was about to happen...
