It was a sunny may morning.
Rays of morning sunlight shone through your curtains, waking you up. Wind flowed through your halfway open windows, tickling your nose.
You hopped out of bed, with already all of your clothes on: You were ready for the day. Quickly, you slid down the stair rails, jumping in to the kitchen.
"OC/N! How many times do I have to tell you not to do that! It doesn't matter what house we're in", a voice shouted. It was you mother. You and your mom had just moved to Ponyville, into a snug cottage, after she and your father had divorced. Your other two siblings decided to stay with him. But you didn't care. It was much quieter now anyways. And that was good.
"Yeah yeah, I get it", you sighed.
Breakfast was already on the table, as if it was waiting for you, smelling deliciously. Mom had made homemade raspberry waffles, topped with maple syrup and whipped cream. You inhaled the sweet scent, ready to dig in. You placed your plot onto the wooden chair, scooting towards the table, fork and knife already in hand.
"Chow down quickly, school isn't waiting for you", your mother hummed. Today was your first day of school in this town. You were excited but also nervous.
But without a second thought, you shoveled the warm food down your throat, enjoying every bite. It was so good! Waffles were your favorite. After you finished, you took your plate to the kitchen and scrubbed it off, while hitting up a conversation with your mother, who was still unpacking silverware and other various kitchen objects.
You opened your mouth, words flooding out: "What if they don't like my mane color? Is it too short? What about my clothes-"
"Don't be silly, OC/N", she interrupted you, "Ponyville is a place of equality. A town where all races live in harmony. Speaking of harmony, the 'Elements of Harmony' live here. I heard Princess Twilight Sparkle has weekly magic lessons at her castle. Maybe you wanna check it out this weekend..." You spaced out. Your eyes wandered to the clock, realizing it was already 7:40.
"Shoot!", you shouted, dropping your plate into the sink.
"I-i gotta go! Love you Mom!" You quickly planted a kiss on your Mom's cheek before running onto the hall and grabbing your bag, tripping out of the small house. With one of your legs you kicked the door shut.
"New town, new start!", you whispered, before making your way towards the Ponyville school house.

The bells of the schoolhouse rang; The sound could be heard all over Ponyville. You jogged up the hill, towards your new school. Shoot! My first day and I'm already late..., you thought to yourself. you picked up speed, whispering words of encouragement to yourself. Almost there...
But suddenly, you lost balance, only a few feet away from the school entrance, making you fall and tumble towards the door. With a loud crash you enter the class room.
Your head hurts and yiu feel extremely dizzy. As you look up, you can see curious filly eyes focused on you. "I... I... uhm, I'm sorry..? Er." You scratched your head, embarrassed, but you didn't want to show it. Great, my first day of school and I already made a fool of myself! Why does this always happen to me... You shook your head in embarrasment.
A voice interrupts your thoughts: "Oh..! You must be the new student... Er, welcome. Also... next time, maybe try not making an entrance like that. It, uhm, disrupts the class." You looked up. It was a small earthpony, with cherry-colored fur. Her curious green eyes stared down at you. There was a spark of friendlyness and curiosity in her eyes.
"I'm, uhm really sorry ma'am, I didn't mean to- I tripped over... something... I don't know... ", you mumbled. "It's okay, dear. Just get up. You might want to introduce yourself", she replied.
The mare lended you a hand to get up. "By the way, my name is Cheerilee. I'm your home ed and history teacher", she told you, while she helped you get up. You quickly thanked Cheerilee and awkwardly skitted towards the front of class, with still all of the students eyes on you. "Well, er, my name is OC/N, and I'm from Canterlot... I'm uhm a Y/R as you can probably see... And uh, I'm Y/A years old... Uhm, yeah."
Quickly you rushed to the other side of the classroom, taking a seat at a random spot. You didn't really care where you were sitting right now, you just wanted to not be the center of attention anymore. You still felt everyone staring at you, as if they were watching the spectacle of a lifetime. Instantly after you took a seat you dropped your backpack on the side of your table and sighed, both hands rubbing your temples.
You walked home slowly this time. The first day left you exhausted, tired and a little depressed.
Oh dear Celestia, talk about a good start... That was terrible! Everypony probably would have laughed at me if Cheerilee wouldn't have stared them down like that. Maybe these ponies aren't full of themselves like those snobby, egotistical Canterlot ponies... Also, how come that mare next to me looked at me like that? She looked... disgusted? Maybe it was because of how I acted. I made a terrible first impression. Clumsy, late, awkward... Anxious. Sometimes I really wonder what is wrong with me. Ugh. Hopefully I can come up with a good lie for mom about how amazing my first day was... It has to sound convincing at least.
You snook in the back door of your house so maybe your mom wouldn't confront you immidiately. Thankfully you were in luck and crept upstairs into your room as fast as possible (You held your breath the entire time, just in case) without your mom noticing. Where was she anyways? Probably at the library. She loves books. She would probably become good friends with Princess Twilight Sparkle, apparently she also had a thing for books, too.
The moment your plot hit the edge of your bed, tiredness swept over you like a tsunami. You yawned and decided that going to bed early wasn't that bad, so you crept under your blanket and closed your eyes, waiting for sleep.

A cold breeze and a ray of blinding sunlight ripped you out of your sleep rather uncomfortably. As you opened your eyes you saw your mom standing in front of the curtains. "Rise and shine, sweetheart. It's your second day of school today! Exciting, am I right?"
Exciting, riiigght. You yawned and picked yourself up from your bed. Because of your deep sleep everything from yesterday felt like a bad dream. Unfortunately, it wasn't.
"Hey mom, what time is it? I don't want to be late for school again..." The thoughts of yesterday's entrance made you cringe.
"It's, 6:45, honey. Also I went shopping yesterday, I got some... casual breakfast food for you", your mom exclaimed.
"Wh- Wait do you mean cereal?", you replied, a little surprised that your mom didn't know what cereal was called. "Er, yes, that's the word for it! Ce.. Cereal. It's downstairs in the pantry, if you want some", she said. Your mom then turned around, and smiled before leaving your room to get ready for the day herself. You yawned once more before getting ready too.
For today's your outfit you picked a tank top with some slightly ripped overalls. You didn't really care about your looks too much. Even if you did grow up in Canterlot, didn't mean you could afford expensive clothing. You or your mom normally got them from some sort of second-hand shoppe, or made them yourself.
As you made your way downstairs you thought about the following day and not how to mess it up. Just stay quiet, no one likes a loudmouth. Maybe I should sit alone during lunch again... At least that way no one will have to deal with me. You looked through the kitchen to find the cereal.
Hay Flakes, Carrot Crunch, Daisy Dots... These are actually pretty good brands! The only way you knew these, was because when you lived in Canterlot, you had a friend who was from Appleloosa. Her family moved there due to Canterlot apparently having more opportunity for their apple products. She was your only friend. Her name was Apple Crisp. When you slept over at her place, you'd always have cereal for breakfast (with apples, of course). You always wanted to eat it anyways. Your mom didn't get it, she'd always get healthy foods. It really did surprise you when she did get a few boxes of cereal. It was so, unlike her.
You grabbed the Carrot Crunch box and opened it, emptied part of it into a bowl, added some milk and grabbed a spoon. Quickly you guzzled down the cold breakfast, then washed the bowl and left it in the sink before running back upstairs to get your stuff. You nearly tripped down the stairs (again) with your saddlebag in your hand, and then left though the front door. The wind slammed it shut behind you.
This time, you actually entered the schoolhouse appropriately, not barging in like last time. You walked towards your seat, letting your saddle bag fall next to it. You sighed and waited for class to begin.
The bell finally rung and every student made their way outside for recess. You grabbed your lunch and trotted outside. You scanned the area for an appropriate place to sit and eat your food. Quickly you made your way towards and empty table and dropped your lunch bag on it. Suddenly, three little fillies drop next you at the table, their curios eyes fixed on you. One was an orange pegasus, the other one was a yellow earth mare, and one was grey unicorn.
"Er... Can I help you?", you asked, quite confused why these mares decided to sit next to you.
"Well, you're the new kid, right?", the yellow mare asked. Her southern accent was a surprise to you. Before you could answer, another mare started speaking. "Well duh, we've never seen them here before", the orange pegasus replied.
"Guys, calm down, we're not here for a fight. Sorry, they're always like this", the white unicorn sighed, looking a little ashamed.
"Uhm, who are you guys if I may ask?", you quickly asked before somepony could interrupt you.
"We're the Cutie Mark Crusaders, at your service!", the pegasus shouted, "I'm Scootaloo, this is Applebloom, and she Sweetiebelle", she pointed at herself, then the yellow mare, and lastly the unicorn.
"Nice to meet you. As Scootaloo already said, I'm Applebloom. We just thought we'd greet ya, since we weren't here yesterday-" "Manehattan! The best metropolis in Equestria!", Sweetie Belle interrupted. She noticed Applebloom's annoyed stare and looked down. "Sorry, just wanted to let them know-"
"Wait, what's your name? We probably should have asked earlier, but we get carried away when talking if you haven't noticed", Scootaloo asked.
"Oh, my name is Y/N.", you replied.
"Y/N? Reeeaally fists your obnoxious personality." You turn around and see a pink mare with a purple and white mane. Her ice blue stare made a chill go down your spine. Wait, isn't that the pony who sits next to you?
"Wow Diamond, that was really uncalled for. What gives?", Scootaloo shot back. "Yeah, what have they done to you?", Applebloom replied.
"Well I apologize for being honest, isn't that what you wanted me to be?", the mare exclaimed. "No- We mean yeah- But not in that way! I'm not sure if you get it yet", Sweetie Bell sighed. "Ugh, whatever", the diva scoffed. She flipped her hair and sashayed away.
"Yeesh, what's her problem?", you asked.
"This is gonna be a looooong talk...", Scootaloo groaned.
