My Dearest BonBon,
I sit here on our favourite bench on the edge of Ponyville Gardens pondering life and all its intricacies. My thoughts spiral to far away places, taking in everything I know exists, from the impossibly large to the unfathomably small, and I have come to realise just how lucky I am.
Each day we sit here, talking to each other, watching ponies go by as they buzz around fulfilling their daily chores like the busy bees of their hive. No words, spoken nor written, could aptly explain the way I feel when you are here beside me, but here I am, hopelessly trying regardless.
I remember how awkward our initial encounters were. I was never a shy mare. If anything, I'd say I was quite brazen, but seeing you for the first time made me so nervous. Your sweeping candy-coloured mane, your infinitely deep cerulean eyes, your meticulously groomed coat, your perfectly pedicured hooves, everything about you spoke unrivalled beauty. I was taken aback by my fluttering heart, but it was your smile, your way with words and your intelligence which drove me towards the warm, welcoming glow of your friendship.
And I have never looked back. Over the past few years, we have developed a bond which I believe can never be broken. Even through dark and troubling times we have worked together, been there for each other and made each other's lives all the better. Petty squabbles are quickly forgiven and forgotten, you never hold a grudge even if I do, and you always try your best to make up for any wrong-doings or mistakes you make, even if it's entirely unnecessary. I don't frankly know how one pony can harbour so much love inside her heart.
At times I wonder how you put up with me. The shenanigans I drag you into, my persistence in playing the fool, and the often precarious positions I put one or both of us in on a consistent basis must try your patience to no end... and yet, here you are, by my side, defending me like I could never do a thing wrong. When I see myself in the mirror, I can see glaring faults, but all you see are quirks which you claim simply add to my personality.
I am lucky to know somepony who looks at the Universe in the light you do.
It's weird sitting on our bench here alone. I couldn't imagine a time where I would ever want this to be the norm. On the one hoof, I could quite happily sit here and talk to you as if you were here, but on the other hoof, it feels so much colder here without you. I guess it's true what they say: absence really does make the heart grow fonder. At the same time, I also realise that there will come a day where one of us will be left to sit on this bench alone, and that breaks my heart.
I never want these days to end, but I know one day they will. I don't look forward to the day, but I also know I won't look back on them in sorrow. Life is a journey, not a destination, and I will recall our times here together with the utmost fondness. Nothing can change the
