A Glimmer of Magic
Magic Mishaps
Previous ChapterNext ChapterBack in the doorway, Spike was pacing. The rest of the ponies had gone into the throne room to talk about their friendship retreat from a few days ago, all while Rainbow Dash was grumbling about being 2 seconds over the record and Pinkie saying that they should learn when to sing songs. Boy, they’re lucky, thought Spike. They only have to think about when to sing songs. I have to deal with a regressed Starlight and now Flurry Heart! Spike groaned, then there was a flash of light. Twilight had teleported into the castle with a bunch of foal supplies.
“Spike? How is Starlight? Has anypony seen her? Has she escaped?!” asked Twilight. Spike shook his head and then pointed towards Starlight’s bedroom. Twilight smiled, then ran inside. What she saw shocked her.
“So, thwis is my Waamy!” Flurry Heart said to Starlight, pointing. Starlight nodded and started throwing it into the air, playing with it. Flurry glared at her. “That my Waamy!” she shouted, then leaped on Starlight, knocking it out of the air. Starlight started crying.
Twilight stared at them. “SPIKE!” she called, startling both Flurry Heart and Starlight, and causing Pinkie in the other room to freak out.
“WHAT was THAT?!” Pinkie shouted. Spike calmed Pinkie down, then ran to see what Twilight wanted.

“Spike! What is going on?!” asked Twilight frantically as he ran into the room. She pointed to Starlight and Flurry Heart, who were now sleeping peacefully with the Waamy in between them. Spike raised an eyebrow at Twilight.
“They’re just sleeping…” Spike said, kind of annoyed that Twilight had made him give up sitting next to Rarity for this. “Nothing’s wrong, Twilight. Calm down!”
“No I will not calm down! You didn’t see it! Spike, Starlight was throwing the Waamy up in the air! That’s a foal thing!” Twilight lifted Spike up in the air and started shaking him.
Spike was getting dizzy, and he neede to stop Twilight before he puked. “Maybe she’s just having fun with Flurry Heart?” His question made Twilight stop suddenly and her horn’s aura dissapeared, dropping Spike on his head.
“Maybe, but I doubt it. You didn’t see her! She was acting like she actually was a foal! This is bad…” Twilight started pacing.
Spike stopped Twilight. “Maybe there’s more information in the book in which you found the spell. Where did you find it, anyway?” he asked Twilight, who was smiling at him.
“Great idea, Spike!” she cried, then teleported into the library. By the time Spike got there, she was already searching through the shelves.
“Found it!” Twilight used her magic to levitate a book down from the topmost shelf. Why it was all the way up there, Spike had no idea.
“Ok... “ Twilight blew dust off the cover of the book. It read, Secrets of Starswirl the Bearded. Spike looked at it and gasped.
“Why would Starswirl make a spell to regress ponies into foals?” he asked Twilight.
“I don’t know, but this is where I found it.” Twilight levitated the pages to the age-regressing spell. “Here it is…” she said, as she speed-read the spell.
“Hey, what’s this?” Spike asked, pointing to some small print at the bottom of the page. Twilight read it aloud.
“‘Notice: The longer this spell is active, the victim will become more and more foal-like.’ Why would that happen?!” Twilight couldn’t believe it.
“Maybe you should ask Princess Celestia,” said Spike.
“I can’t! If I do, she’ll know that I age-regressed my student! She never did that to anypony! Even Sunset Shimmer didn’t get age regressed, and you know how she was when she was Celestia’s student!” Twilight looked down at her hooves.
“Then at least tell your friends. They’ll understand. They’re your friends, aren’t they? They’ve been through being magic-less, having their cutie marks switched, being turned into Breezies, and having their cutie marks being taken away!” Spike tried to reason with Twilight.
Twilight raised an eyebrow. “So, they’ve survived having cutie mark problems and being turned into stuff?”
“Those were examples, Twilight. Just go tell your friends!” Spike said to Twilight.
“Ok, ok! I’ll tell them!” Twilight whinnied in annoyance, then teleported to the throne room, leaving Spike all alone in the library, wondering what to do with a brand-new clause of the spell that might change Starlight’s life forever.
Author's Note
The longer the spell stays, the more foal like Starlight becomes!!! OwO
Idea by the book keeper! Thanks! :3
