When General Hux chooses to save his own skin rather than risk his life to save his boss when Starkiller Base begins to collapse on itself, Ben Solo, better known as the First Order's Enforcer Kylo Ren, is doomed to die. However, the grandfather Kylo idolized has other ideas, and hopes to save his Grandson from the darkness that consumed him so long ago.

When Kylo awakens again, he finds that his grandfather had sent him to a strange land of talking bipedal horses called Equestria, which has suffered a terrible tragedy: newly-minted Princess Twilight Sparkle has been slain in her sleep by a political faction known as the Traditionalists, forcing the ruler of Equestria, Princess Celestia, to push the reforms Twilight had been pushing into law, thus pushing the land to the brink of a bloody civil war. Anakin gives Kylo a mission: find the Traditionalists and kill them, thus ensuring that peace returns to the land. Along the way, Kylo meets Princess Celestia, her younger sister Luna, and Princess Twilight's friends, Rainbow Dash, Rarity Belle, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack, as well as finds an apprentice in Twilight's orphaned son, Spike.

Little does anyone realize, however, that the leader of the Traditionalist, Amadeus Blueblood, is allied with another organization. One even worse than Equestria First. One from Kylo's world.
