Okay, please read this note before you move onto the story, this story was a request from a guy named Twilight is the BEST and this was from last year, but I made some time to post the story as a Hearts and Hooves/Valentines day special, so I hope you like it and remember to stay tuned and brony on. Also, if there are any errors in the story, I welcome the constructive critisism
Love Is In The Air
It was a beautiful spring day in the land of Equestria as everypony was getting ready for a new fresh start. Winter Wrap-Up was a breeze to get done in time. Crops were being grown and harvested for the farmers market and the sky was being cleared for the season with the help of the pegasi from Ponyville and Cloudsdale. Speaking of "pegasi," two young pegasi had planned out a week vacation over in Manehatten to start off their first passionate night alone together at a motel.
Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail have been going out ever since they passed their training test 9 months ago. At first, their relationship started off nice and easy with a few picnics in the park and star-gazing, which was one of Vapor's favorite things to do when she had some time to herself when she got away from her parents breathing down her neck. With Sky Stinger, he'd go bowling whenever he's bored and whenever his siblings or his parents never paid attention to him that much. Sky also taught Vapor how to play, even though it wasn't her favorite sport, but it was a great experience for her.
When their relationship went further, their bond became stronger and stronger. Every day when they'd come home from work, they would visit each other. Sky wasn't much of a cook, but that didn't stop Vapor from loving him so much. She didn't mind cooking dinner for the both of them as long as her coltfriend was able to pitch in with purchasing the food.
Recently nowadays, they've been getting in some practice for a performance for the Grand Galloping Gala, which was scheduled from about a week and 3 days from now. Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail have been getting in some extra practice for the show. Sky and Vapor never liked big fancy parties, but they couldn't resist the urge to perform for some of their wonderful audiences. Sky Stinger's abilities have been improving more and more with Vapor's support, even though she stopped giving Sky extra wing time. Vapor Trail also improved her abilities and found herself more courage when she watched her coltfriend practice more effortlessly.
As of right now, Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail were just arriving in Manehatten after they had recently booked a hotel room for a whole week. During this week, Sky Stinger had something special planned for the two of them. Vapor was feeling a bit worried because of how mating season was coming close and her heat cycle was one thing she really hated most. Luckily, Sky Stinger was there to help satisfy her needs when the time was right and that time was gonna come around midnight.
Sky and Vapor walked down the streets of Manehatten with their stuff packed in their suitcases searching for the motel. They couldn't find it anywhere at first, but never gave up. Eventually, they found the hotel they were looking for and stepped inside. The inside had a few dining tables where they served complimentary meals and a pool table. A few ponies were eating while others were either playing card games on some of the other tables and playing pool. Sky and Vapor were impressed by how beautiful it was, but they couldn't stand around gawking at the display all day so they walked over to the front desk and spoke to the clerk.
"Hello, we've got a reservation under Stinger and Trail." Sky said to the clerk. The clerk checked the list and gave him a nod.
"Okay, I have your room key with me, sir. Enjoy your stay here." said the clerk. He gave Sky the room key. Sky then walked his marefriend up to the elevator and up to the third floor. When they had finally reached the 3rd floor, they looked for their hotel room. They searched the hallway, looking over each door from left and right until they finally found it in the middle of the hall. Sky Stinger unlocked the door, letting Vapor Trail peek inside and was amazed at what she saw.
The room was spacey had a queen-sized bed over on the left with 2 blankets covering up the mattress and a pair of two fluffy pillows. The window had a beautiful view of Manehatten. Vapor's smile grew and she hopped onto the bed. Sky Stinger laughed when she did that.
"Enjoying the life of luxury, babe?" Sky asked.
"Who wouldn't? This place is great! You were right, Sky." Vapor said happily. "This place is the perfect getaway!"
"Only the best for my wing pony. I'll bet you're exhausted from practice earlier today." Sky walked over to the bed and threw his whole body onto the soft pillow and blankets. Vapor laid down next to him.
"You have no idea how much I needed a brake like this. You and I will need as much strength as we can get before we attend the Grand Galloping Gala this following week."
"Ugh, don't even get me started on that, Vapor. It's nice to look at, but all the Canterlot ponies are nothing but a bunch of snooty jerks with no class whatsoever. The only thing that's good about it is when we "WOW" the crowd with our newly improved flying skills."
"Don't talk like that, Sky. There's a few ponies at the Gala that are as nice as can be. Two of them being the Princesses of Equestria and even they think the Gala is boring. But they still hold it every year to try and bring happiness to others. I know it's not the best social gathering, but at least we'll still have each other after each and every performance we've done." Vapor explains.
"Yeah, you're right, babe. And I wouldn't have it any other way." Sky held Vapor's hoof and nuzzled her warmly on the cheek, making her blush a bit. Vapor giggled and booped Sky on the nose with her own.
"So what was it that you wanted to ask me before we got here? You said it was something important." Vapor's question gave Sky Stinger a bit of a suprised look.
"Oh, uh... yeah, I can't tell you that until later on tonight."
"What's wrong with now? You were so high strung about telling me earlier."
"I know, babe. But, it's too early and I want it to be a surprise so try to hang on a little longer. In the meantime, how about we just unpack our stuff and order up room service, I'm sure you've gotta be hungry. We have traveled quite a long way." Sky said.
Vapor felt a slight growl in her stomach and blushed. "Well... I guess I did skip lunch. Maybe a quick bite would be alright."
"Sweet!" Sky Stinger hopped off of the bed and walked over to the door. "Is there anything in particular you've got a craving for, or should I just bring whatever?"
"Oh, just go ahead and bring whatever they've got that can fill me up." Vapor says, earning a nod from her coltfriend before he disappears behind behind the door and his hoofsteps echoed softer and softer until she couldn't hear them. Vapor leaned back and slammed her head on the pillow, staring at the ceiling.
The whole time, she was pondering about 2 things: One of them was involving her heat cycle crisis, which was going to start at midnight. She knew it was difficult to control her urges once it hits her. The other thing that she pondered about was her coltfriend's question. Vapor was curious if he's been troubled by this unknown question for a few months or so. What could it be that he wants to ask her? What is it about this question that's so important, but not enough to tell her now?
All these questions started making Vapor Trail a little frustrated, tossing and turning on the bed. Whatever Sky was hiding, she wasn't going to be finding out until later on tonight. She only hoped her answers wouldn't be found at some time after midnight. But she was relieved, knowing that whatever Sky wanted to say to her, it wasn't going to be tomorrow in the morning.
A few minutes later, after tossing and turning from the suspense, Vapor's coltfriend, Sky Stinger arrived with a tray, filled with some tasty food. A delicious garden salad with a few hay sandwiches and two cups of water to wash it all down easy.
"Well, time to dig in!" Sky said. He gave his marefriend her plate of food before digging into his. Vapor Trail took her time as she was eating, all while she was watching Sky Stinger eat. Vapor just couldn't stop thinking how lucky she was to have found somepony who's treated her as a kind friend when she was just a filly and now treats her like a princess. She loves Sky Stinger and nothing or no pony was gonna change that.
Later that night around 11:55 P.M, Sky Stinger was digging through his suitcase, looking for a special present that he had bought a few days ago with the extra bits he saved. He was excited and a little nervous about how Vapor would feel when she sees it.
Sky Stinger kept searching through his suitcase, getting more worried that it might have fallen out of his suitcase and gotten lost on the way here. But then his worries soon went away when he felt something fuzzy in the shape of a cube, which he let out a sigh of relief. He takes it out and closes up his suitcase and set it against the wall before he laid himself on the bed.
5 minutes later, Vapor Trail walks out of the bathroom with a towel covering her mane. She sighed and walks over to the bed where Sky had his back facing her. "Sky, are you awake?" Vapor asks.
He turns around and looks at Vapor with a smile. "Yeah, I can't get any sleep, babe. I've got a lot on my mind tonight and I want to get this off my chest." Sky replied.
"What do you mean?" Vapor asks.
Sky Stinger got off the bed and stood in front of Vapot Trail with his right forehoof behind his back. "Vapor Trail, ever since we joined the Wonderbolts, I've never been more happier in my entire life. You inspire me to go the extra mile even when I'm exhausted and worn out. On top of that, you're the most beautiful pegasus I've ever had the pleasure of dating and don't ever want that to change. So now, I've only got one question to ask you and I hope you can accept what it." he said.
Just as he said that, she couldn't help by blush from this confession and got even more surprised when Sky Stinger revealed a fuzzy box and opened it, showing a beautiful hoof-sized ring. Sky Stinger kneels down and asks the one question that made Vapor Trail's heart fly off to the moon.
"Vapor Trail, will you marry me?" he asks. Vapor's eyes teared up with joy. She couldn't contain her excitement anymore so she let it all out by tackling Sky to the ground, wrapping her hooves around him, nuzzling him lovingly like he's her most lovable tedddy bear. Vapor Trail then presses her lips onto Sky's for a long, passionate kiss until she needed to break for air.
"Of course, I'll marry you, Sky. Is this what you were planning this whole time?" she asks.
"That's right, babe. I wanted to make this as special as possible, so I chose to wait until it was fairly close to midnight before it was time to propose. I'm sorry if I kept you waiting too long, babe."
"Oh, don't worry about it, Sky. I understand now." Vapor gets off Sky and flies onto the bed just as Sky Stinger got up on his hooves, soon getting a glimpse of Vapor giving him her adorable blushing smile.
"Hey, is something the matter, Vapor?" Sky asked. Vapor's blush had gotten more red. "What are you blushing about, babe, are you catching a fever or something?" he climbed up onto the bed and laid down next to his fiance and rubber his hoof on her back, giving her some comfort. "Here, let me give you a little helping hoof with that, okay babe?" What he didn't know right then and there, was that Vapor had a little surprise of her own waiting for the both of them.
Soon, Vapor let out these deep, seductive giggles and turned around to face Sky Stinger. She grabs Sky and pins him down on the pillow. "Sky, I've got a gift that I want to give you, too.
