When princess Celestia sends Twilight to investigate an alternate timeline in the human world, Twilight ends up in the year 2000 in the United States, where murderous clowns have taken over many of the world's cities. Along the way, she discovers the sole individual who's fighting back against the evil forces that have cast a shadow over the world. Her name is Maria Drake, and her mission is to reduce the threat until it can be taken care of by Earth's remaining authorities. Together, her and Twilight must discover the reason behind the disaster, and why Twilight was sent to Maria's realm to begin with.
