"Twilight and I set markers on the paths to run at. Well, you'll run, I'll fly! We'll follow the railway all the way to the finish line at Macintosh Hills!" "And stay off the tracks when you can," said Twilight. "We don't want to risk you getting hit by a train." "Say what?" said Rainbow Dash. "But he's the enemy!" Applejack bit Rainbow Dash's tail again. "He runs so fast the train might be pulverized instead of him," she said quietly. "What if he crosses the bridge over Ghastly Gorge while a train is crossing?" said Fluttershy. "I can jump Ghastly Gorge!" said The Other. "Now, let the race begin!" said Pinkie Pie. "Ready... 321go!" Rainbow Dash and The Other took off. The Other ran at his usual speed, and looked behind him. There was no sign of Rainbow Dash. "Right here!" The Other looked to his right to see Rainbow Dash flying beside him. "So, you are faster than I thought," said The Other. They raced past Galloping Gorge and Unicorn Range. As they were running below Cloudsdale, The Other shot a cosmic energy ball at Rainbow Dash, narrowly missing her wings. Rainbow was surprised, but kept an eye on The Other every few seconds. The Other shot more energy balls at Rainbow Dash, but she dodged, while keeping up with him. "Cheater!" said Rainbow Dash, as they reached the tunnel under the mountain Canterlot was on. "No one ever said we couldn't attack each other!" said The Other. "Anything goes!" "In that case..." Rainbow Dash flew a little faster and whipped The Other in the face with her tail, slowing him down. Rainbow was in Ponyville when she suddenly felt a pull on her tail. The Other threw her backwards by the tail, causing her to sprawl on the ground as he raced past Ponyville. He hoped he had broken her wing. He reached Ghastly Gorge, and jumped across. Rainbow Dash got back to her feet. The Other was out of sight, but she wasn't worried - she still had her secret weapon! She flew as fast as she could along the railway, with both hooves forward. She flew faster and faster, until she got past the speed of sound... The Other was running through Appleoosa when there was a rainbow shockwave in the sky. Just as The Other was sprinting toward the finish line at Macintosh Hills, a rainbow blur zipped by him, leaving a bright rainbow trail. Rainbow Dash stopped at the finish line, and The Other reached it a few seconds later, out of breath. "CURSES!" said The Other. "How could I lose?" "Sonic Rainboom!" said Rainbow Dash. "I am faster than you! Now, get the hay out of Equestria!" Author's Note I had to check a map of Equestria to get the geography right. Battle of the Speedsters"So, I lost the race," said The Other. "But I will not leave! Thanos WILL have the Infinity Gauntlet by the end of the day! If you won't give it to me, I'll take it by force!" The Other ran behind Rainbow Dash, grabbed her tail, and slammed her on the ground. As he was lifting her up again, she kicked his arm, causing him to release her. She flew circles around him, but he was able to follow her every movement and smack her to the ground. The Other walked over to Rainbow Dash. "Your wings look delicious. I shall barbecue them and serve them to Thanos." "Why is it always my wings?" said Rainbow Dash, and she flew up to The Other and kicked him in the face, knocking him on his back. Rainbow flew into the air and directly down at The Other, but using his speed he simultaneously dodged and got into a standing position, causing Rainbow's front hooves to smash the ground. They started to fistfight, too fast for anypony to follow, if there had been any ponies in the area. The Other grabbed Rainbow's left wing and tried to pull it off. Rainbow responded by whipping The Other in the face with her tail, causing him to let go of her wing, and she quickly kicked him to the ground. Getting back to his feet, The Other shot an energy blast at Rainbow Dash, but she casually dodged it. The Other shot rapid fire energy balls at her, but she dodged each one, kicking or tailwhipping a few back at him. One of them hit him, weakening him a bit. Rainbow Dash flew at The Other, who ran behind her and tried to bite her wing. Rainbow moved slightly causing him to bite her tail instead. Rainbow immediately flew into the air, as high as she could, so that The Other wouldn't dare let go for fear of falling to his death. With both hooves in front of her, Rainbow Dash flew as fast as she could, and once again, did the Sonic Rainboom, creating a rainbow shockwave as she flew faster than the speed of sound, leaving a rainbow trail. She flew circles around Equestria, making The Other dizzy, for even he did not know speed like this. As Rainbow reached a point above an empty field at Unicorn Range, The Other let go of her tail. However, because Rainbow had unintentionally gotten lower to the ground, The Other did not have a long way to fall. He landed on the grass, and lay, dazed. He got to his feet, looking around for Rainbow Dash. She was directly above him, approaching at incredible speed. The Other looked up just as Rainbow crashed into him. BOOM! There was a rainbow mushroom cloud explosion where Rainbow Dash had collided with The Other. When the smoke cleared, Rainbow Dash was standing in a small crater. There was not a shred left of The Other. Thanos sensed the life force of his servant vanish. "Fine. I'll do it myself. Just as Rainbow Dash finished telling her friends about her victory over The Other, Thanos appeared. "I am Thanos, ruler of the universe!" he said. "I am not a weakling like my servant was. Give me the Infinity Gauntlet or I will bathe the starways in your blood!" "Rainbow Power, now!" said Twilight. The Mane 6 activated Rainbow Power. "What is this?" said Thanos. "Your power... it's infinity! Is this... what I thought was the Infinity Gaunt..." The ponies blasted Thanos with their rainbow. Thanos howled in utter defeat as he was undone in a magnificent flash of rainbow. Thanos materialized in a cage in another glowing cell in Tartarus, and a screen of G3 started playing. "GET ME OUT OF HERE!" said Thanos, though he knew this was where he'd spend eternity. Author's Note As with my Chrysalis story, no offense intended toward anyone who likes G3. Tirek got smaller and thinner, and completely disintegrated into black particles. He found himself inside a cage in Tartarus. He would spend his eternity in his old prison, watching G3 of My Little Pony. On a distant world, the Mad Titan Thanos called his loyal servant, The Other, to his side. "You summoned me, Master?" said The Other, a pale blue alien with six fingers and a hood over his eyes. "I have detected a powerful burst of energy," said Thanos. "It appeared to be a blast of rainbow energy containing infinite power." "Infinite power! Do you think..." "I have a feeling it is." "Where was this?" "It was in a land called Equestria. A land of ponies. The land Tirek tried to take over a thousand years ago. I sensed his energy vanish, just as it had exceeded my own. He might have been on the other end of the Infinity Gauntlet." "I shall retrieve it for you immediately!" The Other got into a spaceship and flew toward Equestria. "Princess Celestia!" said a guard pony. "We have a visitor from another world." "Let him approach," said Princess Celestia. "We shall see what he wants." The Other walked up to Celestia. "You are the princess of this world, correct?" "One of them," said Celestia. "In the name of Thanos, the one true ruler of the universe, I demand that you hand over the Infinity Gauntlet!" "Infinity Gauntlet? We have no such thing here." "Spare me your ignorance, horse!" "Actually, I'm a pony." "Whatever! I know someone used the Infinity Gauntlet yesterday!" "You are mistaken." The Other ran at Celestia with lightning fast speed and held his hand to her throat. Guard ponies pointed spears at him, while Celestia's horn glowed with magic, ready to blast him if she needed to. "So, you won't give me any answers," said The Other. "I shall interrogate one of the other princesses!" And in a flash, he ran out the door.
