Branches Crossing
I awoke with a sharp pain in my neck, but once I rolling my head around on my shoulders, it went away as quickly as it came. I got up off my bed and stretched until I heard every bone in my body crack. I put on my brown Stetson before exiting my room to go to the dinner table for breakfast.
At the table, everypony was already seated except for Big Mac who was caring a tray of toast to the table. I took my seat next to Flim and gave him a sweet smile.

"Applejack," Granny said to me," Big Mac, Apple Bloom, and I are going to go visit some of our relatives from Appleloosa and spend the night there. Would you be interested in coming along? You can too, Flim."
I thought for a moment. It sure would be nice to see my family again, but with all three of them gone, and if I left too, there would be a lot of work to catch up on. I looked over at Flim who didn't seem all that excited about the plans to go and visit my family, so I told Granny Smith myself what we were going to do.
"I think we'll just stay here, Granny," I responded," Although it would be nice to see Braeburn and the rest of my family again, Flim and I will do today's work so we won't fall behind."
"Okay, dearie. We'll be leaving at noon, so Big Mac can help you two out in the fields this morning."
"Eeyup," Big Mac added.
"Alrighty then," I said. I finished up my breakfast and cleaned off my plate before heading out to the west field with Flim following me.
"You could go if you want, AJ," Flim said," I can take care of myself for one night."
"I know you can, but I'd prefer to stay here with you."
Flim smiled at this and pulled me into his arms for a tender kiss. I could not get over how sweet his lips were. The faintest hint of apples made it even better. We could've stayed like this for hours, but we had work to be done. Besides, we'll have more time for that later.

Flim, Big Mac, and I returned to the barn at lunch time to enjoy a hours break of chores. Granny and Apple Bloom had everything already packed and had the suitcases stacked at the door. It wasn't long before a taxi driver came out to the farm and picked the rest of my family up for their trip.
"Goodbye, y'all," I shouted to them before they got out of hearing range.
I felt the presence of Flim behind me before interrupting me.
"Let's finish up work so we have more time to spend together alone tonight," Flim suggested.
