The Pleasures of Being Equal
Fluttershy shivered a little as Starlight Glimmer hooked a fore leg around her shoulder. “Come,” she said, a smug smile adorning her face. “All new friends stay with me until their cottage is completed. Let’s get you settled and then you can enjoy all that our little village has to offer."
Nodding along, Fluttershy did her best to keep her faux smile as wide as possible, hoping to Celestia that her ruse would work. If Starlight Glimmer just believed she was hypnotized, then she might have the slightest chance of getting her and her friend’s Cutie Marks back.
But she was also staying at Starlight’s home. It would be difficult to sneak away under the watchful eye of this brainwashed town’s mayor. Sure, she could wait for her to fall asleep, but what if she was a light sleeper? Or she was just pretending so she could test Fluttershy’s loyalty?
Her chest tightened at the realization of just how many things could go wrong. It would be a real miracle just to get out of Starlight’s home, let alone make it all the way to the Cutie Mark Vault undetected. But at the same time, her friends were counting on her; she had to do this.
As the crowd that had gathered around dispersed, each made their way back to their dull, grey homes. How they managed to even tell who’s was who’s was a mystery to Fluttershy.
She caught a glimpse of Sugar Belle and Night Glider, each wearing a look of concern for Party Favor who now resided in the hypnosis chamber. As much as Fluttershy wanted to comfort them and let them know everything would be alright, she also knew she couldn’t break character.
Before she knew it she felt a tug. Starlight pulled her body, as well as her attention, north. They faced her home now, the only building in town that was even distinguishable from the rest, just by virtue of being in the center of the street. The fact that it was able to bath in the glow of the setting sun only served to set it apart further.
“Come on,” Starlight said. Her fore leg snaked down from Fluttershy’s shoulder to her hoof, wrapping around it and continuing to pull. “We simply must hurry.”
Fluttershy limply allowed herself to be dragged along before stumbling into a pace that matched Starlight’s ever quickening one. “U-Uh, what’s the rush?”
Starlight didn’t answer, but Fluttershy thought she saw her pink jaw clench, if only slightly. Was something the matter?

But then, why wasn’t she being led back to the brainwashing chamber? Starlight had already opened the door to her home, so was something else the matter?

Starlight dropped her hold on Fluttershy’s hoof, darting forward to a cabinet off to the side. Her horn sparked to life, tossing it open. Without even looking back at her she snapped, “Fluttershy, lie down on the floor.”
“U-Uhm… what?” Fluttershy asked. The odd request was so sudden that she couldn’t help but feel uneasy about it. Instinctively she glanced the the old wooden floor, perplexed.
“Just do it. I’m worried we don’t have a lot of time.” Starlight’s head was still buried in the cabinet. The glow of her horn barely illuminated anything within, but Fluttershy heard a good deal of shuffling.
“A-Alright,” she mumbled. With a tentative swallow, she leaned down until all four fetlocks were pressed against the floorboards. She glanced back to Starlight, who was finally bringing her head back out.
“On your back,” Starlight demanded. A few items floated into view behind her. Something white and poofy, folded in a square. Along with it was a canister.

“I am sorry about this,” Starlight murmured as though she was reading from a script. “But the brainwash-- the, er… welcoming process has an unfortunate side effect.”
“O-Oh?” Fluttershy stammered. A side effect? Was it a way for Starlight to tell the fakers from those truly hypnotized? If so, she could be in trouble.
With her magic, Starlight unwrapped the white square, revealing it for the large, poofy garment that it truly was.
“I-Is that a d-d-diaper?” Fluttershy squeaked.
Starlight simply nodded. “Again, I’m sorry, but you’re going to be incontinent for the next few hours. It’s a problem everypony seems to have after their… conditioning. I don’t know why, but they’ve all gone through this before. Think of it as a rite of passage or something.”
“B-But…” Fluttershy fidgeted. She did not want to wear a diaper, let alone use one, but Starlight would get suspicious if she said she didn’t need it.
“I know, I know,” Starlight mumbled, clearly experienced with reluctant ponies in this scenario. “But I only have one bed here, so we have to share. And I am not going to use any piddle-ridden sheets, are we clear?”
Just from her tone, Fluttershy could tell this was not a request; it was an order. “U-Uh, yes ma’am.”
“Good,” Starlight said. “Legs up then.”
Shyly, Fluttershy lifted her hind legs, ever so slightly. With a huff, Starlight rolled her eyes. Her horn grew brighter, latching a soft blue aura to Fluttershy’s hind hooves. With a swift yank, they were both pulled high into the air, exposing her rear.
Naturally, Fluttershy squeaked in fear, shielding a reddening face.
“Huh, looks like you aren’t even a little wet yet,” Starlight said as she scrutinized Fluttershy’s nethers. “Guess you’re one of the lucky ones to make it this far.”
Fluttershy just whimpered behind her hooves.
There was a light thud as the unraveled diaper hit the floor. Starlight pushed the infantile garment underneath Fluttershy’s rear, not stopping until the edge ran into her waist.

With a long, heavy sigh, Starlight shook off her shock. “Fluttershy, I see your point, but I am not wearing a diaper tonight. This isn’t a matter of equality; you absolutely need that diaper. I don’t need to wear one, it’s as simple as that.”
Fluttershy chewed her cheek. This was good; Starlight was uncomfortable with the idea. If she could just convince her her options were wear a diaper or take off Fluttershy’s, then she might have a chance.

Starlight suddenly froze. “Uh-- Buh-- Wha-- What would make you even consider something like that, Fluttershy?” Starlight laughed again, even more nervously this time. “Why, that’s ridiculous. W-What would even make you consider such a ridiculous idea?”
Feeling like she had somehow touched a nerve, Fluttershy retreated a little. “O-Oh, I’m sorry. I just… since you didn’t seem willing to wear a diaper, I...”
Clenching her jaw, Starlight took another sigh, but for some reason this one felt more like a sigh of relief. “Okay, okay. I’ll wear a diaper too, so don’t complain anymore, okay?”

With a flick of her horn, Starlight pulled back the covers of her bed, revealing a firm-looking mattress with an unassuming shade of beige. She turned and plopped her padded rear on top of it, before her face erupted with a wince.
Fluttershy knew that look well; it was the face of unexpected, unwanted pleasure. I guess I’m not the only pony who feels a little… weird with this diaper on me.
