Primordial Friendship part 2

Equestria year 1008 of Celestia’s Reign

As Fluttershy prepared some food for her prehistoric guess, the four dinosaurs settled in around a table. While neither Parker, Teryx, Boulder or Dusk are familiar with furniture, they at least figured out that a couch was something to sit on after seeing it between the interaction of Teryx and their Pegasus host. Fluttershy flew back holding a platter with some assorted fruit as well as some tea, she placed the platter on the table and proceeded to offer the treats to the Dino gang.

“Would any of you like some fruit?” Fluttershy offered. “Well here I have apples, berries and even some nuts…if it’s alright that is.”

“Well I and Boulder do enjoy some nuts and berries,” Parker replied. “Though we have no idea what an apple…but it could be neat to try something new.”

“Oh wonderful,” said Fluttershy. “Do try some, my friend Applejack and her brother Big Mac brought them to me earlier today.”

Parker, Boulder and Dusk each grabbed an apple from the platter, then after taking a light sniff each one took a bite out of the modern fruit. They chew bust before swallowing, and after trying the apples the three had a few words to say.

“GREAT CRETACEOUS THESE ARE AMAZING!” Parker, Boulder and Dusk shouted in excitement while Fluttershy looked on happy that her guess were satisfied with the fruit they ate.

“Well I’m happy you did,” Fluttershy smiled. “The Apple family from Sweet apple acres grows some of the best apples around here in Ponyville.”

“Well you should let them know about that,” Parker chuckled. “These fruit are like nothing we’re used to back home in our valley.”

“Indeed,” Dusk agreed. “The only fruit that grew around there are usually Ginkgoes, grapes, cycad fruit, berries, nuts and Palm fruit, however ginkgoes tend to be more of an acquired taste.”

Fluttershy could only giggle at the idea of trying a Ginkgo, but she noticed that Teryx had yet to try any of the food on the platter.

“Is there’s something wrong Teryx,” Fluttershy wondered. “If you’d like something else I might get it for you.”

“Well I was hankering for something like a Mayfly or mosquito,” Teryx replied. “For I am an insectivore after all.”

Upon hearing that Teryx enjoys eating bugs; the shy Pegasus began to feel a little concern. But before she could speak out, a parasprite appears out of nowhere shocking the concerned pony.

“Oh dear a parasprite!” Fluttershy shouted with concern. “I better catch it before…”

Within seconds Teryx flew over and grabbed the Parasprite, the insect like creature struggled a bit until the Avisaurus crunched down and swallow the Parasprite whole.

“Now that was good eating,” Teryx comment while rubbing his belly. “I sure hope there’s more of these parasprites flying around here.”

Fluttershy could only feel a little squeamish at what transpired, she actually started to turn a greenish color for seeing an animal eating another animal was a bit much for her to take. But she quickly shook it off just as hoping sounds could be heard from the other room, she and the dinosaurs took noticed as a little white rabbit hopped over to them curious about his guardian’s new guess.

“Oh hello there Angel,” Fluttershy greeted the bunny. “I would like you to meet our new guess, they are Parker, Teryx, Boulder and Dusk…they’re something called Dinosaurs.”

Angel hoped up to the gang and investigated each, while the usually devilish rabbit was generally wary of strangers…the only one he felt wary about was Dusk, especially with his scary looking raptorial toe claws.

“Why hello there little fella,” greeted Dusk. “I know we Troodon are intimidating to small mammals, though I do hope we can be friends.”

Dusk tried to greet Angel as friendly as he could, however his sharp teeth were easily shown as Dusk tried a gentle smile causing Angel to hide within Fluttershy’s arms.

“Don’t be scared Angel,” assured Fluttershy “I’m sure Troodon like dusk don’t eat cute little bunnies right?”

“Well actually Fluttershy,” Dusk corrected. “While we Troodon are omnivores eating plants and meat, small furry nocturnal mammals are among our most favorite treats.”

Soon enough both Fluttershy and Angel jumped at hearing Dusk’s factual information, seeing this with concern Parker tried to lighten the situation.

“Please do not about that,” Parker assured Fluttershy and Angel. “Dusk had already eaten mammals before we got here, so I’m sure your Angel bunny will be safe around him.”

“Phew,” both Fluttershy and Angel sigh in relief.

“Quick question,” wondered Teryx. “How come you have so many animals living with you anyway?”

“Oh that’s because I’m an animal caretaker,” Fluttershy explained to Teryx. “I look after and watch over animals in need of a place to live…it’s one of my special talents hence why I have my cutie mark.”

“Can’t the animals look after themselves?” Boulder asked in confusion.

“Well some of them could I guess,” replied Fluttershy. “But usually most of my animals required warm and loving homes that are willing to take care of them.”

There was a bit of an awkward silence from the Dinosaurs, generally because the idea of animals incapable of looking after themselves was quite unheard of back in the Mesozoic Era. However as Parker, Teryx and Boulder attempted to sort this out, Dusk suddenly realize something and spoke out about the Dinosaurs’ current situation.

“Fellas I think I figured it out!” Dusk shouted getting everyone’s attention. “Don’t you see…new kinds of vegetation, docile creatures and six limbed mammals?”

“Six limbed mammals?” Fluttershy questions in confusion.

“He means you Fluttershy,” Teryx explained. “Anyway what are babbling about Dusk?”

“Well I have a theory involving that rainbow star stone that crashed into our planet,” Dusk explained. “What if the multicolored aura contained special particle that somehow sent us through some form of chronological acceleration?!”

“Uh could please you explain it without the eggheadedness?” Teryx asked while Fluttershy noticed how the Avisaurus’s comment reminded her of one particular friend.

“I think what Dusk is suggesting…” Parker explained. “That somehow the energy emitted may have sent us somewhere through time!”

“You mean like time travel?” Teryx asked the Parksosaurus.

“Exactly,” replied Dusk. “Say Fluttershy how old do you believes the Urth is?”

“Urth?” Fluttershy said in confusion until she realized what Dusk the Troodon had meant. “Oh you mean Equestria…well we don’t really know I’m guessing a little over 4,000 years.”

“Well actually my dear Fluttershy,” Dusk explained. “It turns out our planet is actually a little over 4 Billion years old, and judging by my mental calculations…we’re precisely 65,000,000 years from now everyone.”

“65MILLION YEARS?!” Everyone shouted in surprise.

“So what you’re saying is Dusk is that somehow we’ve been sent into the future?” Parker asked Dusk.

“Exactly my young Parksosaurus,” replied Dusk. “And by the looks of things as time went on, it seems that mammals have somehow managed to reach larger sizes which resulted in our lovely young Fluttershy we see now.”

Fluttershy couldn’t help but blush at the Troodon’s compliment, but all of a sudden there was a knock on the door.

“Oh I’m coming,” Fluttershy told the knocker. “Could you four please excuse me, I believe some pony else is knocking on my door.”

The shy Pegasus walked over to answer the door, there standing outside were two of Fluttershy’s friends Twilight Sparkle the Alicorn and Spike the baby dragon.

“Why hello there Fluttershy,” greeted Twilight. “How are you doing on the beautiful evening?”

“Oh I’m doing wonderful,” replied Fluttershy. “So what brings you two down to my cottage?’

“Oh nothing too important,” explained Twilight. “We were just wondering if you remembered about our brunch with our other friends tomorrow.”

“Oh not worry,” assured Fluttershy. “I remembered about that already.”

“Well that’s good,” said Spike. “I was just about write you a reminder just in case.”

“Why thank you Spike,” Fluttershy. “I really appreciate it.”

“Oh say who are you talking too?” Boulder asked from the living room

This caught Twilight and Spike’s attention a bit, wondering who was in there with Fluttershy, not sure how her friends would react to seeing her new dinosaur friends Fluttershy thought of a slight fib to explain to her friends.

“Uh that was one of my parrots,” Fluttershy fibbed reluctantly.

“Does Boulder look like a parrot to you?!” Teryx asked from the living room.

“Let me guess another parrot?” Twilight asked suspiciously. Fluttershy nodded yes nervously hoping her friends would buy it.”

“Well I got to say Fluttershy,” Spike smirked. “Those parrots are really good, could’ve sworn we were hearing ponies talking in there.”

“Well you know parrots,” the shy Pegasus spoke cautiously. “They love repeat the words they hear.”

“Will you stop calling us parrots already?!” Teryx shouted in annoyance.

There was a bit of an awkward moment as Fluttershy began to sweat bullets as her two friends looked on, the awkwardness lasted for a few moments when Twilight finally spoke up.

“Well we can see you are busy Fluttershy,” Twilight chuckled. “So I guess we’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Yeah good bye Fluttershy,” Spike waved before he and Twilight departed.

“Goodbye Twilight,” Fluttershy waved. “Farewell Spike.”

Fluttershy kept on waving until Twilight and Spike were finally out of sight, once she saw they were gone, she closed the door and sigh over what she had done. She felt quite ashamed at lying to some of her closest friends, finally the four Dinosaurs walked over to speak with Fluttershy over what has happened.

“Fluttershy are you alright?” Parker asked with concern.

“As of now I feel horrible,” Fluttershy sigh. “I still can’t believe I did that though.”

“Well Fluttershy,” said Dusk. “Lying usually something you shouldn’t always do.”

“I know Dusk,” said Fluttershy. “It’s just that…how could I ever explain to Twilight or any of my friends about you four?”

“You don’t know how to explain something?” Boulder wondered.

“Uh I don’t believe it what she meant Boulder,” Teryx explained to the Leptoceratops. “But still why wouldn’t you two whoever was out there about the four of us?”

“Well you see…” as Fluttershy tried to explain. “I’m not quite sure how either Twilight or Spike would react upon meeting you Dinosaurs…in fact I’m not even sure all of Equestria is even ready for Dinosaurs, I myself wasn’t prepared about meeting a Dinosaur at all in my life.”

As Fluttershy began to tear, Parker, Teryx, Boulder and Dusk could see how upset Fluttershy was at what she had done. In fact Fluttershy was completely devastated, but the Dinos could see that she needs some reassurance so parker walked up to calm her down.

“Fluttershy its okay,” Parker assured the shy pony. “Look I understand that you’re quite upset at what you’re done, but I also understand you were just trying to protect us as well.”

“You do?” Fluttershy asked as she wiped a tear.

“Listen we all tend to do the wrong things for the right reason once in a while,” explained Parker. “So you don’t have to worry too much about it, how about when the time is right…you can tell your friends about us when they’re prepared to understand okay?”

Parker offered his hand as Fluttershy finally cheered up and smiled at her new Parksosaurus friend.

“Okay,” Fluttershy replied as she shook Hoof/ hand with Parker. “I guess when the time does come; I might be able to tell my friends about you if it’s alright with you four?”

The four dinosaurs thought it over and after giving it a minute; they nodded yes in agreement much to Fluttershy’s relief.

“Well anyway since everything is settled,” said Teryx. “The four of us should go our way.”

“Oh I see,” said Fluttershy. “But wait I believe it’s getting dark, where would you four go?”

“Back into the woods of course,” Boulder chuckled much to the pony’s shock.

“But the Everfree forest can be dangerous out at night!” Fluttershy told the gang. “Uh maybe for tonight you guys should spend the night…if it’s alright that is.”

“Nah I think we’re fine,” assured Teryx. “Besides Troodons such as Dusk have excellent night vision, so we’re good.”

“Hold on fellas,” Parker spoke up. “You got to remember times has changed around our valley, so there could be perils we might be prepared for at time being…so maybe at least spending one night here at Fluttershy’s den might do good until tomorrow, that way we can get acquainted with the local animal life in the morning.”

“Well alright,” said Teryx. “But I call dibs on the nearest perch tonight.”

“It’s all yours Teryx,” Parker chuckled. “Anyway Fluttershy would it be alright if me, Boulder and Dusk rest near this area please.”

“Well since you four are my guess for tonight…” Fluttershy thought. “So of course you can, I’ll pulled out the extra blankets and pillows for the three of yeah.”

“What’s a blanket and pillow?” Boulder wondered.

Fluttershy and the other Dinosaurs could only just look as Boulder seemed unaware of certain Equestrian concepts and customs, but shook it off as they prepared for Fluttershy’s first sleepover with some Dinosaurs.
