//-------------------------------------------------------// After the Winery -by Joshua Crapo- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// SCAT HQ: Main Security Station SCENE 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// SCAT HQ: Main Security Station SCENE 2 Simms overrides the control to all of the cameras and focuses it on himself. “Look.  I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but you were supposed to see what the heck was past that phenomenon.  But it doesn’t look like you’re up to this mission, even after trapping all those augers from the previous mission.  Breaking contact.” And with that, Simms takes the plug out of a remote before the signal turns to static. //-------------------------------------------------------// Minivan SCENE 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Minivan SCENE 2 After some chatter from the teens, Kelly returns to the minivan and reenters the car. “Hey Megan, do you mind dropping me off five blocks west of Lakeshore Winery?  Control and I have some investigation to do.” “Sure.  Just let me drop off the rest first.” After driving west to aim for one of the teens’ home, Megan briefly pulls over to look at Danny. “Everyone... look to your left.” “Hmm.  This must be the phenomenon that Commander Simms mentioned.  Megan, keep going.  I want everyone home and safe before I investigate.” “Kelly, I’m actually interested in what that is.  What would a TV be doing functioning in an ally?  There’s no outlets to hook it up with.” Megan looks at the brightened alley and opens the door, only to see Danny walking towards the ally, causing her to gasp. “Lisa, go get your brother.” Lisa promptly exits the minivan to chase after Danny. Kelly looks up. “I think I saw a camera over there in the alley.  Go over there and see what that phenomenon is.” Suddenly, the leftmost passenger screams. “What is it?!?” the other three ask. “There goes Danny!” And just like that, Megan, Kelly and the other two get out of the car. //-------------------------------------------------------// SCAT HQ: Main Security Station SCENE 1 (STARTING OPTION 1) //-------------------------------------------------------// SCAT HQ: Main Security Station SCENE 1 (STARTING OPTION 1) In a dark room filled with scattered televisions, a lone man in the room has a large, brown mustache and slightly receding hair.  After seeing a girl head down a staircase, he turns around to face a working camera. “Nice work player.  SCAT is looking forward to giving you your next assignment with what you’ve shown us.  I have sent rest of the officers blocks within the vicinity of the Martin family home for further investigation.  Kelly should be back here very soon from what I saw. SCAT mission 231.  From the looks of it, the girls were hiding beside the lake to wait for a clear coast, and have successfully driven off with Kelly in their vehicle. Officer Nick, this is Kelly.  Mission complete. “Copy that.  Come back here alone so that we can tell you your next mission.” Okay.  I’m on my way now. Simms faces back to the camera. “Okay.  Here’s the plan.  Kelly will be here, so in the meantime, Nick will give you some more details on this mission, so listen in.” “Thanks, Commander Simms.  We tested what this phenomenon does, and it appears to attract our guns, communication devices, and remotes.  However, we took advantage of this, and have found a way to override a system of cameras in one particular area past this strange phenomenon.  We are not sure what this area actually is, but you are in control of whatever traps are nearby from the cameras we have sent.  Good luck out there, player.” Then, Kelly enters the room. “Hello Kelly.  We’ll be sending you on a mission to investigate a strange phenomenon five blocks west of the Lakeshore Winery.” “Okay.  Control and I have got you covered.  But what about the girls and Danny?” “They’ll have to get home first.  We don’t want more potential for them to go missing.” Kelly nods. “I understand, Commander Simms.  C’mon, Control.  We’re going in.” And with that, Kelly exits the way she came in. //-------------------------------------------------------// Minivan SCENE 1 (STARTING OPTION 2) //-------------------------------------------------------// Minivan SCENE 1 (STARTING OPTION 2) At the lakeshore, five teenagers are all breathing heavily; four of them are girls, and one of them is a boy.   The tallest of the girls pushes her hair into the back and sighs. “Phew.  Boy, am I glad we’re reunited.” “So, now what, Lisa?  Kelly’s still in the house.” “She should be able to find us in a few.  Okay, Danny?” Danny sighs. “Alright.” The most well-dressed of the girls walks in front of Lisa and Danny. “So wait, you thought I was in the shower when you were sprucing yourself up?” Lisa smiles. “Heh.  How ‘bout that.  I can’t mistake you for an auger anymore, Megan...” Suddenly, a new voice comes into hearing range. “That’s correct, Lisa, because they’re all gone.  Come on, everybody.  I gotta get back to SCAT HQ in case there’s a second assignment for me and Control. (https://www.fimfiction.net/story/372061/1/the-pony-from-scat/scat-hq-main-security-station-scene-1-starting-option-1)” And with that, Danny and the girls all walk over to the minivan and pile in, Megan piling into the driver’s seat while Kelly takes a camera from the driveway and puts it above Lisa’s seat to face her.  Finally, the car drives away from the now abandoned Lakeshore Winery.  Kelly pulls out a walkie talkie and presses on the transmitter, which sends a signal over to an officer at HQ. “Officer Nick, this is Kelly.  Mission complete.” Copy that.  Come back here alone so that we can tell you your next mission. “Okay.  I’m on my way now.” And with that, Kelly puts away the walkie talkie for the rest of the ride. “Okay, Control.  It looks like I have another assignment to do.  Go to HQ quickly and find out what it is.  I’ll be over there right away...
