Twilight Commits A Crime

Twilight was sitting in her room going through photographs of her friends while she relaxed as she had nothing else to do that day. While she was looking through photographs somepony rapidly knocked on her door. She was startled by the noise and groaned as she didn't want to deal with any problems anypony had that day.

She tried to ignore it but they knocked again. She finally stood up and went over to her door and opened it. Pinkie Pie was smiling while sitting there. Twilight allowed her to come in to her place. Twilight closed her door while Pinkie Pie sat down and looked at Twilight.

"Twilight Applejack is officially signing me into her family tree as her cousin." Pinkie Pie said. Twilight was thrilled. Ever since Pinkie Pie was found to be a cousin of Applejacks even though if the name on the paper was smudged Applejack considered her family anyway and now she was taking it a step further.

"That's great Pinkie Pie. I thought she wasn't going to go through with that." Twilight said. Pinkie Pie smiled and shrugged. She responded to Twilight.

"I don't mind either way really but she insisted I be included as she had already accepted me as a cousin so now she's putting my name and picture into her family tree." She said. Twilight wanted to bring up a fac though and spoke.

"But Pinkie Pie the name was smudged remember? You and Applejack don't know if it's official. I don't know if it's official either. Besides isn't there legal paperwork you have to go through?" Twilight asked. Pinkie Pie became surprised. She wanted to clarify what Twilight said.

"There's paperwork in order to adopt somepony into your family? I thought that was only for adopting fillies." Pinkie Pie asked Twilight. Twilight thought for a moment. She shrugged.

"I'm sorry Pinkie Pie but that's all I know. I know I'm smart and everything but I've never dealt with this issue before and I've dealt with a lot of issues. You should ask Applejack-" Twilight began to say until she was interrupted.

"I already asked her she said that it was great I was doing that and I could go ahead with it but she apologized for not knowing how to do that and suggested asking somepony else that knows more about it so I came to you since your the smartest mare I know." Pinkie Pie exclaimed. Twilight sighed in disappointment

"I'm sorry Pinkie Pie I really don't know. Your best bet is to go see the mayor. I do not have a lot of knowledge about that stuff. I know that it implies some paperwork and I think a record listing but that's all I know. I'm sorry." Twilight said. Pinkie Pie wanted to cry.

"Well....I guess I can't do anything then." Pinkie Pie said shakily. Twilight touched her shoulder and spoke.

"Pinkie Pie don't give up. Don't have that attitude. I'm going to write a letter to the town hall and see what they say." Twilight said. Pinkie Pie nodded and waved her on to do that. Twilight wrote the letter and mailed it. They waited and It was answered with in a few hours. Twilight read the letter and spoke to Pinkie Pie.

"They are saying that the only way you could do what your saying is if you have Applejack present while you sign a form that says you want to update your files on your family tree and your history to include her records." Twilight said. Pinkie Pie felt disappointed that it seemed to difficult.

"Oh...well so much for that...Ill just forget about it..." Pinkie Pie said as she lowered her head and slowly walked out of Twilights place. Twilight sadly looked at her. She didn't want Pinkie Pie to give up that easily.

"Pinkie Pie come back here!" Twilight called out to her friend. Pinkie Pie didn't answer. Twilight sighed. She then got an idea. If Pinkie Pie wasn't going to go through the legal process she would have to do it the illegal way which was forge documents in the records which was an offense.

Pinkie Pie cried herself to sleep and the next morning there was a knock on her door. Pinkie Pie answered it and saw that Twilight was grinning which gave her a hint that Twilight did something she shouldn't have done.

"Um...Twilight why are you so happy?" Pinkie Pie asked. Twilight giggled and shut the door and whispered into Pinkies ear.

"I forged some of the documents to include you as a cousin to Applejack. It wasn't really that hard to do." Twilight said. Pinkie Pie was shocked she wanted to know more.

"How? Won't you be caught?!" Pinkie Pie asked. Twilight smiled and waved off the concern.

"Alls I did was forge documents by making copies of them. I burned the originals and I added the info that you and Applejack were related on the new ones. I then forged both of your names onto your family trees and it was all possible by just going to the town hall and requesting for the original copies of these two documents. That's really all there is." Twilight said. Pinkie Pie gasped. She was afraid for Twilight

"Twilight that's illegal! You could get in trouble if Mayor Mare finds out and be fined." She said. Twilight smiled and rolled her eyes.

"Pinkie Pie I'm the princess of friendship I can do whatever I want and if I'm fined I have enough money to pay the legal fees. You can tell Mayor Mare to shove the law up her ass. I have more authority in fact I can tell her what to do." Twilight said. Pinkie Pie hugged Twilight.

"Thanks Twilight...I don't know what to say. I wouldn't have been able to do it." She said. Twilight smiled. And hugged her back. They then let go of each other. Twilight responded.

"Your welcome I'll tell Applejack." Twilight said. Pinkie Pie nodded and Twilight left and told Applejack about what she did and they got into a small argument about the illegal act Twilight did but Applejack was grateful for Twilight taking time out of her day just to help her and Pinkie a pie.

It was a good day for both Pinkie Pie and Applejack as they didn't have to worry about the documents anymore.
