Chapter 1: A kinda new hell?
Friday afternoon it was a cloudy day, i just got home from my graduation ceremony at littleton high school i never in my life wished i did not exist but today was different throughout the whole day i had this ever looming shadow dwelling over me coupled with the feeling i was being watched even as i was receiving my diploma.
I got out of the shower and tossed my dirty clothes in a basket near the laundry room and walked to my room in just a towel laying down on my bed i started going over the events of today mostly the feeling i was having. I rolled onto my side and say the picture of my parents from my eighteenth birthday. When i turned eighteen i moved out of my parents house well not really, they moved out i just took ownership as far as i remember they moved out of state to tour the country and visit famous landmarks. They occasionally send me stuff but i dont really know why i just end up selling or trashing it.
Rolling back onto my back i started talking to myself as a way of self counseling
“so why did I feel that way today”
“Maybe it was the existential dread of your inevitable death that pesters your subconscious.” the voice was deep and coarse it was as if this voice was laced with gravel
‘ i dont remember making that my internal voice ‘ i thought to myself
“Thats because its not internal eliot black. I am korvel (core val) i am a god dragon. You see, this world's mythology is quite real there are gods and there are demons. i , am both i am the god of death i dwell over both realms living and dead. And i need your help.”
“Hold up you a god dragon needs my help an overweight human with no special talent who just barely passed high school, what could i possibly help you with.” I said the confusion making itself quite apparent.
“Yes eliot black your energy signature matches mine almost exactly and i need to use your body if i'm to survive my injuries once i am healed i shall for ever be in your service.” korvel said his voice sounding strained. “
Normally i would use an animal but the only animal that i've ever been a match with has been long since extinct on this planet
“If i let you use my body what happens to me.”
“ you will have complete control of your body and limited access to my powers but the powers come at a cost. If you push yourself past the limit your body can take it might kill you.”
“Will i just live my normal life if i agree.” the question was to insure my safety if i agree.
“Yes for the most part but not on earth.”
“What do you mean not on earth why can't we stay here.”
“Earth doesn't have the magical energy needed to restore my body. But i can assure you that you need not be there longer than a month.”
“Alright as long as i can get home.” after all the question my head was still spinning with how crazy this is. “How are you gonna put your soul into my body.”
“Its simple just raise your hand and hold still this will hurt.”
I raised my hand toward the ceiling and was unprepared for the worst pain i have even felt in my life. It was like having my entire body set ablaze and thrown into a pit acid, if i could have seen it from an outside perspective it would looked like i was just vanishing when really it was me falling apart atom by atom only to have them arranged and configured to fit my partner's standards.
a set of bat like wings protruded from my back and long obsidian colored horns coming from my head between my shoulder length brown hair my towel fell away revealing my legs than now from the knee down were covered in scales and my feet were replaced with something that more resembled eagle talons but wider and thickers at the toes.
“I think i'm gonna throw up.” i fell onto my hands and knees and stayed that way trying to get my barrings.
I stood up and found myself a pair of jeans and in the process of putting them on i tore holes in them with the talons at the end of my legs my pants now looked like i had fallen through a barbed wire fence having the sudden urge to throw up again i ran to the bathroom and knelt down in front of the toilet nothing came up so i stood up and walked over to the mirror and got a better look at my appearance. i now had 2 canis pares on the top and bottom of my teeth instead of one set. My eyes were a deep purple with blood red highlights. When i looked my body over further i noticed that i had a tattoo/scare on my left shoulder that resembled a human hand and dragon skull
i started to walk over to where my shirt was placed when i was knocked to the floor by something i couldn't see. Right when i was about to recover i felt pulling sensation on my legs i didn't get a good look at it before everything went black but i did catch a glimpse of a smile with one long canin and a pair yellow eyes.
When i woke up next i was on my back in a forested area with what i can only describe as the most irritating and painful headache i've ever had.
“I feel like i just got my skull kicked in by a steamroller.” i said clutching my throbbing head and keeping my eyes out of the light from what i can only assume was the early morning sun. “korvel remind me to never have you do that again.” as soon as finished that sentence my stomach convulsed and i threw up everything i had eaten that day.
“Eliot i had nothing to do with what brought us here some strong magical force brought us here. It's almost as if someone wanted us here.”
“How and why i'm fully intent on finding out” standing i stretched my legs and my wings flopped loosely to my waist not knowing how to control them they would probably be like that for some time.
When i started walking i almost fell many time just trying to adjust to my slightly different legs but i managed. After what felt like an hour or so i started to smell something it was almost intoxicating in the way it made me feel, i followed the scent as it got stronger until i saw what was making it. a turquoise unicorn laid asleep in a grass field outside what appeared to be a small town, a slightly bloodied bandage covered its left hind shank.
I knew i couldn't hold the urges i had to tear meaty chunks from the flesh of the poor creature but then something hit me. literally not metaphorically some through a fairly hefty branch from a tree at me it had to have been at least as big around as an american football. strangely i reacted to it almost instantly caught it in my left hand and crushed it.
What ever through it at me i couldn't see and when i looked back at where the unicorn was it was gone. I heard some voices from a bush that was easily hundred yards from me. “Ok maybe monster hunting was a bad idea i dont think we can handle this bon bon!”
“i've never seen something react so fast this has to be a deep everfree creature but what is it doing this far from there.”
“We have to warn twilight.”
I was less than a yard from the bush when the voices came running out of the bush one directly into me the other stopped and looked back but then the same unicorn from befor yelled for the other to continue running which stunted the hell out of me because such creatures dont exist where im from.
It looked at me petrified as if i was gonna strike it down right here and now. I kneeled down to get level with it and sniffed the air a bit to see if i could smell anything that would try to hit me with sticks again.
“Your bleeding.” after i said that its eyes went wider than dinner plates
“You can talk.”
“yes?”
“You CAN TALK THIS IS AMAZING!!”
“Yo calm down princess you're gonna scare the locals.” i say gently placing a hand on her head to stop her from bouncing
“What no i'm not a princess the only princesses are celestia, luna, cadence and twilight.” ok note this one is excitable and really easy to get info from also is place is a monarchy avoid speaking to royalty at all costs.
CRACK!! My head jolted forward and I turned my head slowly to see two hooves almost level with my face. “Do you mind i'm trying to have a conversation here.” i stood up to see some fairly surprised ponies. The one from earlier and five others i started to hear some whistling from just behind me, turning around again i saw a small blue streak off in the distance. This time something in my body took over me and when i felt i felt a power boost in my body i caught the object and slowed to a stop less than two feet from where i was standing originally.
Leting the object go it fell to the ground, i soon realised that it was a pony well a pegasus really but when it hit the ground it curled into a ball and started whispering to itself quietly i think it was saying ‘how’.Upon realising i was no longer completely in control of my body i felt the urge to say something but korvel beat me to it.
“You creatures have no power over me just keep in mind that if this was my body i would have killed you by now.”
“Yes well this is my body and i'm kind enough to not kill other sentient creatures.”
At this point i'm fairly sure i was gonna be murdered for just existing the looks i was getting made me feel uncomfortable.
“What is your name monster.” the purple one said glaring at me
“My name is eliot black and the other voice you heard was the black dragon korvel we share this body. May i ask your names.”
“My name is twilight sparkle, this is apple jack, rainbowdash, fluttershy, pinkie pie and rarity.” she said gesturing to each respectively. “And since we only have 3 more things to try i guess we'll use the stare. Fluttershy.”
Before i had time to question anything i was pinned to the floor with a pony less than an inch from my face my entire vision was filled with the most gorgeous pair of sky blue eyes i've ever seen. I started to feel rather irritated so put my hands on the ground and pushed myself up making her lose her balance and fall
“So is this how you treat everyone you meet.” i said placing my hand on my hip putting a confused expression on my face.
“Alright girls i think it's time we use the elements.” after she finished her sentence the group started rising into the air jesusing the whole way until the met twilights sparkle while i was being stupefied by whatever it was they were doing i didn't realise korvel take over and readied for a fight.
I felt strange, like something was about to crush me something big but i couldn't tell why ‘korvel what am i feeling it's strange.’
‘I believe it's what humans call fear but it may also be the extremely large magical presence emanating from the group.’
‘That would make sense but why does it feel like there's more than one not just one from the group.’
Korvel was paying attention to the ponies when i felt the other energy start moving towards us at extremely fast speeds i made our body jump out of the way when an explosion erupted from where we were standing. Korvel stude us up again turning to the crater to see a white alicorn standing where we once were.
I spoke up first. “And you are….?”
“Im princess celestia and its been along time since discord brought a half blood to our realm but here's the question what side are you on.” my mind had some questions and also some statements most of them being curse words and rude gesture but i refrained for the sake of my liking life.
“first of all i'm not on anyone's side second i dont even know why i'm here third they attacked me.” i said pointing to the group who were no longer pretending to be jesus. I remember what i was doing before they attacked me and started looking for the ony i was talking to having not seen her at all during the fight i just assumed she left.
“Then tell me what side is the other half on, what have you monster.”
Korvel spoke in the same tone he used on me when we first met his voice now vibrated me chest making every word intense and sincere. “I am on eliot's side where he goes i go what he does i do there is no exception.”
She glared at me turned and told me to follow “today is gonna be a long day.”
