Starlight glimmer was sweating bullets, for standing before her was Princess Celestia, a knowing grin upon her face and a kind, unnerving look in her eyes as she waited for Starlight to say something.

Starlight of course knew why Celestia was here....probably, for it had been a week since she had taken Twilight and her friends to the Changeling Gorbfest, and she had been doing a pretty good job of covering for them while they were “On Vacation.”

But now it seemed the jig was up, or it might be, Starlight wasn't sure. All she really knew was that Princess Celestia was in her room in the castle, and was waiting for an answer to her question.

Or at least, she was waiting earlier, for now she was sighing, and was opening her mouth to speak. “Starlight, I know you know where my student and her friends are, after all you are very close to them, so you must know where they went.”

“Didn't......didn't you get a letter from them?”

“I got a letter from my faithful student,” said Celestia, “but I don't entirely trust it, for while it did have her magic signature all over it, there was an underlying magic signature attached to her own that I did not recognize, so I wish to find her to make sure she is ok.”

“Oh I'm sure she's fine,” said Starlight with a smile.

“I will believe that when you tell me where my student is so I can talk to her face to face.”

Starlight gulped, hesitated, then finally gave up, figuring that her time was up, and now she would end up in tartarus instead of becoming a princess like she so rightly deserved. “Well princess, talking to her face to face is.....well....going to be a bit hard at this point.”

“I see,” said Celestia, her eyes narrowing, “and why would that be?”

“Well um....have you ever heard of The Changeling Gorbfest?”

Celestia's eyes widened a bit, and she raised an eyebrow up as she looked at the mare, before finally she chose to speak. “I may or may not have hear of The Changeling Gorbfest, but why don't you explain it to me, after all I could be confusing it for something completely different that I may have heard about many years ago.”

“Um.....” said Starlight, before sighing as she once again accepted defeat. “Well you see princess, The Changeling Gorbfest is an event where changelings invite ponies into the hive, give them a feast, and then when they are fattened up, the changelings then eat their pony guests, and use their stomach to massage the ponies, cover them with pleasure inducing fluids, and then when the time is right, they....well they digest the pony. When that is done, they either burp out the soul so it can pass on to the after life, or the soul of the pony they ate stays within them, staying in an eternal state of bliss and pleasure.”

“I see,” said Celesita, “and I suppose what you are going to tell me next is that my student and her friends participated in this Gorbfest?”

Celestia was acting way to calm about this, which was causing Starlight to sweat, but she nodded her head regardless, “Y....yeah....they did.”

“I see, and do you happen to know the names of the changelings who may have eaten our most powerful and important protectors?”

Gulping, Starlight nodded her head again. “Yeah....um....Thorax.....Thorax ate Twilight, and kept her soul, and I....I may know the names of the other changelings who um....ate the Elements of Harmony....”

“I see,” said Celestia again, smiling a knowing and unnerving smile as she spoke again. “Well, that solves that, now be a dear and write a letter to King Thorax for me, telling him that I want him and those changelings here in Twilight's Castle as soon as possible.....so that we can talk.”

*

Thorax was nervous, really nervous, and so were the changelings who were walking beside him through Twilight's Castle. Of course he had every reason to be nervous, for Starlight had sent him a pretty direct letter erlier.

Dear Thorax

We are so horned, Celestia knows, you are to come to Twilight's castle now and bring with you the changelings who ate the Elements of Harmony.

With love, Starlight Glimmer

It had been short, it had been simple, and it had caused mass panic amongst all the changeling's in the hive. Even Thorax was panicking a bit, for thanks to the letter, he had remembered how important the elements of harmony actually were to the safety of their world.

Grumbling to himself, he looked back to the two who had eaten Applejack and Pinkie Pie, glaring at them before speaking. “You dunder heads, why did you have to let their souls go?”

“They wanted to go,” said Chitten with a little apprehension, looking nervous as she continued to speak, “You....you said we didn't have to keep them....”

“Well now I am realizing just how horned we are!” said Thorax, thanking the stars that there were still no guards in the palace, allowing them to talk freely. “We ate and digested the elements of harmony, and then you two had to go and burp out their souls!”

“Hey it's not our fault,” said Chitter, looking hurt. “Pinkie Pie wanted to throw parties in the after life, its not our fault they didn't take into account how important they were to the world.”

“Grrr.....well what's done is done, we might as well face the music.”

When they finally reached the door that lead into Starlight Glimmer's room, taking a few deep breaths before opening the door and walking in with his changelings.

“Ah, King Thorax, good for you to arrive, and I see you have brought the changelings I wanted you to....”

“Princess, we already know why you brought us here, I think we can dispense with the pleasantries.”

“I see, very well then, I hereby wish to ask why I was not invited to this years Gorbfest.”

“.....come again?”

“I asked you why I was not invited to this years Gorbfest, after all, it is tradition to invite me and my sister to the event.”

Thorax looked struck dumb, turning to Starlight who looked just as dumbstruck as he did. “Hey, don't look at me, I have no idea what she's talking about.”

Looking concerned now, Thorax looked back to the princess, who was smiling that knowing, unnerving smile she had been smiling since they walked in, which was doing a great job and causing him to feel uneasy. “Um....Princess, are you....are you saying that you've participated in a Gorbfest......before?”

“A few times yes, oh....many many years ago, back before Chrysalis ruled over the changelings.”

“But....Princess, I hate to contradict you, but you cant have participated in a Gorbfest before.....you....you would not be here if you did.” said Thorax.

“If you truly believe that, then it seems Chrysalis has done more damage to you then I originally feared, but I can prove to you that what I speak is truth, but first, I need to gather the rest of our guests.”

“What are you....” started Thorax, only to stop when Celestia cast a spell upon him and the changeling's who were with him. Almost at once, Thorax felt his stomach begin to rumble, and then, much against his will, he burped out Twilight's soul.

Looking around, he saw three of the other changeling's burp up their guests. However, while that troubled him a bit, what happened next caused his eyes to widen in shock, for Pinkie and Applejack's souls appeared next to the souls of their friends.

Then, Celestia cast another spell, causing light to begin swirling around the six souls before, to the shock of all but one in the room, Twilgiht and her friends appeared, their bodies restored to them as they were slowly lowered to the floor.

“....bwuh?”

“Give it a minute,” said Celestia, smiling her knowing smile, and watching as the girls slowly came to.

First to actually fully awaken was Twilight, who blinked a bit, then gasped, before beginning to pat herself down as the others began doing the same. “I'M ALIVE!!!” She cried in shock and confusion, before suddenly she stopped what she was doing and turned to Thorax, glaring a menacing glare as she walked up and slapped him across the muzzle.

“Ow, what was that for?”

“YOU DIGESTED ME YOU JERK!!!”

“You said you wanted me to....”

“MY MIND WAS BEING COMPROMISED BY YOUR STOMACH FLUIDS, I WOULD HAVE SAID ANYTHING TO KEEP THAT FEELING FROM ENDING, ANYTHING!!!”

“But.....”

“AND YOU!!!” yelled Twilight, rounding on Starlight as her glare intensified. “YOU LET US GET FATTENED UP AND GOBBLED BY CHANGELING'S, WERE YOU EVEN TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE SAFTEY OF EQUESTRIA, WERE YOU EVEN.....”

“Ahem?”

Twilight stopped, looked over at Celestia, then her face transformed from one of anger to one of joy as she bounded over to her former mentor. “Princess,” said Twilight, getting a wing hug as she hugged her before pulling back and speaking. “I assume you were the one who brought us back?”

“Of course Twilight, after all....”

“Hang on a minute,” said Starlight as the others all looked on in shock, all save for Pinkie Pie, who was cuddling up to the changeling who had eaten her and was saying sweet nothings to her. “Are you telling me that you knew Princess Celestia could bring back ponies from the dead?”

“Of course,” said Twilight matter of factly, “why do you think nopony has officially died of anything other then old age since she took over rulership, Celestia and Luna constantly watch for souls slipping into the afterlife and bring them back, usually whipping the memory of their death from the ponies who witness it.”

“Wait what....” said Starlight, before turning to Applejack and pointing an acusitory hoof at her. “When Apple Bloom got her cutie mark you said that if her parents were there they would be proud of her, doesn't that mean they are dead?”

“Uh....no,” said Applejack, looking at her with a puzzled look, “our parents travel the world helping out other farmers with their crops. They visit any chance they get, and send letters almost weekly.”

“Buh.....buh.....” said Starlight, before falling upon her rump as she looked to Twilight in confusion. “H....how do you know about this?”

“Well um....some of my experiments tend to lead to some.....explosive results, at least they did back when I was living in the palace. The Princess felt that, due to the fact that I was her personal student, I should be allowed to remember dying so that I could learn from my mistakes.”

“This still doesn't answer the question of how Celestia and Luna could participate in multiple Gorbfests, I mean I could see them doing it if they did it one at a time, but if they participated together well...”

“If you will all gather around and give me a moment, I can explain all of this to you.”

Looking puzzled, everypony and everyling gathered around the princess, before sitting down as Celestia conjured up tea and cake for them to enjoy as she spoke. “Now, where to begin.”
