Educated

I wake up to see Dawn Sky's face at the end of my bed."Good morning" she says. " I made breakfast for you" she squealed. "You know how to cook?" I ask confused. "Only cereal" she says with a hint of sadness. She walks out of my room. I walk downstairs and into the kitchen. "Ta da" she announces. On the table I see two bowls filled with milk and bird seed. "You didn't have cereal so I used bird seed", she says. We sit down and start eating. Halfway through something pops up in my head, "If this filly only knows how to make cereal,then where was she getting her meals?" "Sweetheart, what do you eat most of the time?" I asked.

She stopped eating and mumbled something. "What did you say?" I asked calmly.  I said I eat leftovers from the Ponyville's  Diner,mostly scraps. I froze,I couldn't believe this filly was eating scraps like a dog. " What do you eat when the diner is closed?" I asked. " I-I don't eat,if I go anywhere else every pony will pester me about why I don't eat at home." She said, her eyes watering. Sweetheart, I know your probably upset,but when was the last time you ate,before you came here.?" "2 weeks ago" she said,her voice breaking. I went back to eating ,contemplating her answers. When I was done I went into the living room to grade those essay papers. After reading through some, Dawn Sky came in and sat down next to me. " Miss, what are you doing?" she asked. I'm grading essay papers" I said. "May I read some" she asked. "Hm, you have good grammar for a 4 year old" I said. "I'm not 4 I'm 6" she said in a matter-of-fact tone. Of course, she was so malnourished that she looked younger! "Wait if your 6 then why haven't I seen you in school?" I asked. "What's the use I know I'm dumb. " She said. I  turned towards her,"Your eye color does not ,listen to me,does not make you dumb" I said sternly. She turned her head away from me. I got up and went upstairs, I came back down with some flash cards. "Dawn Sky,I'm gonna prove your not dumb!"
