Eclipse, son of Luna

978 years after the banishment of Nova Scorch

     It was a beautiful night in the land of Equestria. Within the gardens of her majesty’s castle. Princess Stellaluna, or most commonly known as Princess Luna, Bringer of the Day and Night, Protector of Dreams.

Was enjoying, her evening stroll when she heard the sounds of crying coming from a nearby bush. Curious as to what might have caused it, she went to go investigate. Once she’d reached where she’d thought she heard the noise. She spotted a small basket with a small blue bundle. Upon closer inspection, she noticed that within the basket, was a creature she had never seen before. It had no fur and five small appendages on the ends of its limbs. It seemed as though it would stand upright, much like a minotaur.

“What are you?” Luna asked curiously at the small creature, as it giggles and coos at the blue alicorn.

“Hmm...You seem to act though you are a child, a newborn more specifically.” Luna said to nopony in particular.

“If that is so, then where might your parents be.” She said as she looked around for any sign of the creature’s parents. But it seems as though they weren’t around.

“You must be alone then. I guess I can take you in.” Luna said with a small smile as she picked up the basket with her magic.

“What shall I name you?” She asked after she determined the creature as male.

    “I think I’ll name you...Eclipse.” She said before she heard the faint sound of thunder, but not long after. The air was quickly filled with the smell of ozone as well as static. But before she could depart, she heard the fluttering of wings. As she turned around. She noticed what appeared to be a phoenix, but unlike the others she had seen in her lifetime. This one was composed of thunderous blue feathers that seemed to spark with lightning. Though it was a bit unusual how this bird seemed to have appeared just as she was about to leave. As she tried to leave again, she noticed how the bird seemed to have followed her.

“Why is it that you follow me so.” She asked the bird. Only to notice it staring at Eclipse, though more of in a protective manner.

“I see, you are guarding the child aren’t you?” Luna asked the bird, causing it to nod its head.

“Very well then, would you like to come with us?” She asked the bird once again, only for the bird to land on her back with a nod.

“What I should I call you, unless you have a name of course.” She questioned the bird.

“How about Blitz?” she asked the bird, gaining a simple nod in return.

“Well then, Blitz it is.” Luna said before she began walking back to the palace. Little did they know, their adventure, had only just begun.
