A confused Starlight tilted her head at Twilight, who seemed rather nervous. Twilight had seemed in a hurry, so Starlight thought it was something important. But Twilight's lack of explanation just made it sound like she was going somewhere else.
"Ok Twi. You do... Whatever it is that you're doing."
Twilight nodded, and ran out of the castle. Twilight really was a terrible liar and she knew it. But she didn't think Starlight would figure out where she was going anyway. She ran as fast as she could to the train station, and hopped onto the train just as it was about to leave. She sat in a compartment taking in a deep breath.
Okay Twilight. You got this! Nopony will recognize with your costume! Nopony will know!
She took her costume out of her saddlebag. At first she was going to ask Rarity to make it for her, but realized it might be a bit strange if she had asked Rarity to make a costume of well... Herself. So she sew it herself, it was pretty bad, yeah. You would not believe how many cuts she got on her hoof from that. It still hurt.
She wiggled her way into the costume, but halfway in, she got lost. She flailed her legs, and yelled, "Aaaah! she kicked around and fell onto the floor. She squirmed around a bit, hitting her horn on the seat, which made her yell again. She screeched when her hair got caught in the zipper, and she pulled on it accidentally. Causing her to loose a clump of hair. Making her catch her head and groan in pain. Then she saw an opening, and poked her head through it.
It was the bottom.
Talk about having your head in your ass.
She let out another groan of frustration, and looked to her right. Of course she had forgotten to close the curtains. A mare stood there looking at her, her face red from laughing. When she saw Twilight look in her direction, she froze, her eyes widening, then ran away.
Twilight got herself out of the suit, and tried again, this time getting it on the correct way.
Perfect! She was now sneakily disguised as herself.
She sat back in her seat, waiting impatiently for the train to stop in Manehattan, when it did, she dashed out in excitement. She put her saddlebag back on, and danced around happily until she noticed ponies looking at her. She gave a fluttershy innocent smile, and ran off.
Wandering through the streets of Manehattan, she searched for the one sign she was looking for. She had to find it, she had to look for large groups of ponies, dressed strangely. She gasped when she did find it. A large bright sign with a picture of Celestia holding a slice of cake in her hoof. The sign read "Alicon". She jumped in excitement, and went to the back of the line, and long a line it was. When she was a filly, she had never seen the line this long before! Obviously Alicon had grown more popular since then.
She noticed a family walking next to her, and giggled a little when she saw them. A mother and father, dressed as Shining Armor and Cadence walked by, and running excitedly in front of them was an older version of Flurry Heart. A filly who hopped up and down with a smile on her face. Her horn was taped on, made of cardboard. She held a alicon flag in her mouth.
She looked forward again to see that she was farther ahead in the line. The pony in front of her turned her head around to look at her.
"Woah, nice Twilight cosplay."
She said. Her and the pony next to her were not cosplaying, but Twilight smiled at them gratefully.
"Oh, thank you."
The mare who had spoken to her whispered something in her friends ear and they both giggled. Twilight ignored it, and looked eagerly forward again.
Closer... Closer... Just a little more... "10 bits entry please." A stallions voice said. Her ears perked up in surprise. But she took 10 bits out of her saddlebag, giving them to the stallion. He nodded and let her in.
She stepped into the large place and gasped. It... was... Beautiful. Oh goodness, it really has been years hasn't it? There was a large poster in the middle hanging down. Another one of Celestia eating cake, but next to her was Luna, who was't as well drawn.
The place was crowded and so loud. All around her were ponies dressed up. She saw all the alicorns, even spotting herself a few times. She noticed one booth that was very crowded, and decided to check it out. It was a Luna booth. An artist, sat smiling, talking to ponies and pointing out all his wonderfully drawn things. The princess of the night had never looked so good. There were some emotional pieces, and some silly ones. She had never gotten into art much, but she loved that ponies would spend so much time on them and how detailed and amazing they were in the end.
She had made it to the front of the line, and the yellow unicorn looked up at her.
"Hey miss, you wanna buy any? This, this is one my favorites."
He pointed at one, which showed Luna flying in front of the moon, armor on her body, and a spear in her magic. Well, Twilight did have plenty of money.
"Sure! Your art is amazing by the way!"
She gave him the right amount of bits, and put the art in her bag. Careful not to have it crumple.
She looked at the handout she had gotten, of the different events. There were art contests, meet and greets, fan fiction stories being told and voiced. Hmm... A lot of it sounded interesting. But the meet and greets... Does that mean the princesses are here? Here to meet all the nerds?
She shook her head, of course not. She started walking, and bumped right into a pony who was running for some reason. They both fell to the floor, it seemed like the mare had dropped her books. Twilight began to pick them up, not really looking at the girl.
"It's fine."
The mare said. Twilight looked up... At herself. But it was her as a unicorn, her hair was messy and spiked up a bit, a cut on her cheek, she wore an eyepatch and a black skintight ripped up outfit. And her voice, the mares voice sounded exactly like hers. The mares horn lit up pink, and she put all the books back in her bag, putting it on her back, and giving Twilight a serious look. She tilted her head and squinted.
"You look familiar." The other Twilight said.
"Uh... Yeah... Nice Twilight cosplay." Twilight said.
"Ugh... It's not- whatever. I'm busy."
She ran away, and Twilight blinked. But when she blinked the cosplayer had disappeared.
She ignored... Whatever just happened, and began walking over to another booth, seeing glimpses of purple from it, but not seeing much of what it was. Many stallions crowded around it, but not many mares. She peaked her head over to see a stallion proudly presenting his art.
It was porn art.
And it was all her.
She moved back, and sat down to take a breath. Heavy breaths.
The stallions all laughed and seemed to get excited. They held out there bits, and Twilight watched as they walked away with their new things.
It made her sick. She felt like she was going to throw up.
She spotted a trash can, and ran over to it. Ponies backed away as she barfed in the trash can. She looked back up sickly... To see a familiar face. She yelled in surprise, and backed away. Was it just areally good cosplay? Or was that actually discord? No, this was Alicon, not Discon. Which... hopefully didn't exist.
Discord looked at her, confused.
"Twilight... Is that you?"
"Uh... Maybe?"
He began to laugh.
"Oh, what a wonderful cosplay you have there! Dressed as yourself! Pfff, hahaha!"
He put his claw to his head, laughing hysterically.
"Discord what are you doing here?"
"Well. Now that I'm reformed, I get to spend some time with you alicorns. I thought it be interesting to see what all the nerds are up to."
Twilight looked behind Discord to see what booth he had been at. But he moved his head so she couldn't see it.
"Well... Ahh, lovely seeing you here... Now, we must move on shall we?"
He pushed her away from the booth with his claw, but she now noticed his paw was behind his back. Hiding something.
She grit her teeth.
"Discord... What do you have there?"
He blushed furiously, and kept pushing her away.
"Oh, you see it's nothing. Nothing you would be interested in! Oh, uh, haha, have you seen that uh booth, there?!"
He pointed at the booth she had just looked at. The one with all the art of her.
She growled, and glared at Discord.
"Yes." She said angrily.
"Well uh-"
Suddenly, Twilight used her magic to grasp whatever it was he was hiding. She could feel it, but couldn't exactly figure out what it was. It was soft like a marshmallow, and she suddenly jerked it from his bear paw, pulling it out in front of her to see it.
Discord looked hopeless and embarrassed. He put both his claw and paw onto his face, covering it in shame. Twilight could only stare at him, then back at the pillow, then back at him. Her mouth dropped.
It was a body pillow of Princess Celestia. Her face red and her mouth open with her tongue sticking out. She had a case of the bedroom eyes. She lay on her side, but showed off her larger than should be rump.
Twilights eye twitched, and she looked back at Discord.
"You know what, I don't need this dumb thing!" He proclaimed. Taking the pillow and tossing it on the ground. He turned away and began to walk off.
"I'll still tell her." Twilight said. A mischievous grin on her face.
He froze, and his eyes shot open.
"Tell her. I tell your friends you went to Alicon."
"Twenty bits, I won't tell her."
Discord groaned, taking twenty bits from his bag and tossing them to her.
"That pillow cost me 50 bits..."
"You spent 50 bits on a pillow?"
"No regrets!"
He suddenly popped out of existence. Twilight blinked, looking down at the pillow.
She looked around to make sure no pony was watching.
She picked up the pillow, and tried her best to shove it into her saddlebag. Which didn't really work, but she ran out of Alicon as fast as she could. Screaming, "I regret nothing!" As she tore her costume off, her months of work, and flew away.
Everypony watched as their beloved princess gracefully flew off into the sunset, screaming, with a Celestia body pillow in her hoof. Oh, and a bagel she found on the way here which was probably moldy.
