Chapters Elements of Heroism Interlude: First Dates
After the events of the Grand Galloping Gala...
"I won't lie. That was probably the best night of my life.", Inferno said with a content sigh. "What about you guys?"
"We messed up the nobles' party and made the place go nuts.", Steel said with a smile. "My life's complete." Steel then thought of Rainbow Dash and the time he'd spent with her. "In more ways than one since Dash was involved. What about you Ty?"
Tyrannus was snapped out of his own fond memories of that night. "I had a pretty good time. Especially since I got to make Fluttershy smile." Tyrannus then blushed. "She's so cute when she's happy..."
"Well since we're on the subject, Rarity wants to make things official between us!", Inferno said with a cheerful smile. "In fact, I've already got our first date planned out!" The guys cheered for Inferno, who then looked to Burst. "So Burst, looks like you've captured the heart of our fair Princess Celestia."
Burst smiled. "The best part of that being she returned my feelings for her. To think...this all started with a promise I made as a little kid." Burst fondly remembered the night he'd first seen Celestia, and hadn't even realized she was the princess he'd made a promise to. "I know she doesn't have a lot of free time with being the ruler of our kingdom, but she promised to message me when she's free. How many times I see her is irrelevant. What really matters is how good the time I spend with her is." Burst blushed a little at the prospect of even seeing Celestia again. "Well, it's definitely been a good night. See you guys around!" And with that, Burst and his fellow Elements of Heroism went to sleep. Waiting for whatever life would send their way the next morning.
Canterlot Castle, Celestia's Room
Princess Celestia had finished preparing for bed. A blissful smile still present upon her face as she crawled into bed. Luna had come in to tell her sister good night when she noticed how happy she looked. "Sister? What's making you smile so much?"
Celestia giggled. "Believe it or not Luna, I've met someone who's captured my heart."
Luna gasped in excitement! "Really? Who?"
"It's Burst. The one who helped return you home, and to me.", Celestia said with a loving smile. "I know I've had many suitors over the years. But all the gifts they came with? None of them compares to what Burst's done for me in such a short time." Luna beamed at her sister's happiness. "It won't be easy to spend time with him, but nothing worth keeping is ever easy."
"Well, I hope you two can make it work.", Luna said with a supportive smile. "Good night Tia."
"Good night Lulu." As Celestia fell asleep, a new element was present in her dreams. Like most nights, her dreams took place in the castle and on her usual tea area. The view of a waterfall, and some flowers she had planted were around her. However, the new element soon revealed itself.
"Sorry to keep you waiting sunshine." Celestia looked up to find Burst standing in front of her and smiling. "You sure made today lovely." Burst pulled up a seat, and noticed the expression on Celestia's face. "Celestia? What's wrong? Are you not happy to see me?"
Celestia blinked, and soon smiled. "No. It's that I'm incredibly happy to see you.", she said with a loving tone.Burst smiled as he got out of his chair and wrapped his arms around her while kissing her neck.
"That's good.", Burst said with a smile as he broke off his kissing. "I'm glad I can make you happy. Someone like you deserves it." Celestia blushed as she gripped onto Burst's arms tightly before craning her neck to reach Burst's face. Burst smiled, and leaned in so he and Celestia could share a kiss. The two continued kissing as Celestia caressed Burst's cheek with her free hand. The two soon broke their kiss and shared a look of happiness and bliss between themselves. "There's the smile I love." Celestia smiled as she rose out of her chair and hugged Burst tightly. "I love you Celestia."
Celestia smiled lovingly as she tightened her embrace. "I love you too...my dragon knight." Celestia continued to hold Burst tight until her dreams were ended by her royal duty to raise the sun. Celestia frowned as she woke up, but a smile soon graced her face when the sun was fully raised. She then checked with her assistant if she had any free time this week. There was one slot later on in the week. "That will be all thank you." Celestia hummed the song she and Burst had danced to as she wrote a letter to Burst Stream. She then sent the letter to Burst via her magic as her hand glowed with a golden aura. She soon got a reply, and smiled. "I can't wait to see you either..."

Tyrannus was freaking out. But though his physical state would suggest otherwise, his mind was another story entirely. What was causing him such distress? The answer is, his first date with Fluttershy. What do I do?! What do I do?! , Tyrannus mentally panicked! I've never been on a date before! Man..I haven't even asked a girl out in my entire life! And I had the bright idea to ask one out now?! I'm such an idiot! How do I go about it? Tyrannus then set to work planning out how to ask out Fluttershy. She's a very kind girl, and also very shy. If I go too up-front with her, I might risk scaring her. She is easily frightened. But if I'm too subtle...I'll risk being forever in the friend-zone. AGH! Tyrannus let out a heavy sigh as he fell on his back onto the ground, and frowned as he looked at the sky. Why am I getting so worked up over this? She's kissed me on the lips, although that was pretty bold of her...but still. I've gotta find the right way to ask her. Maybe...maybe I should just try asking her as is? I mean, she'd be pretty nervous about something like this too, right? Tyrannus smiled slightly before he was hit with another realization. Now all I gotta do is think of a good date. Hmmm. She loves animals, and she's a nature fan. She goes into the forest a lot, so that'd be nothing special. Tyrannus scratched his chin in thought, and an idea finally came to him. That could work. I just hope she's home now. Tyrannus headed home, and knocked on Fluttershy's door. Fortunately, she was there to answer him.
"Oh. Hello Ty! Back so soon?", Fluttershy asked. "Normally you're out longer when you finish work for the day."
Tyrannus smiled. "Yeah. I just wanted to say...thanks for making the gala a nice time for me. You were my first kiss." Fluttershy gave a small smile as she blushed. Tyrannus's cheeks then blushed in kind. "And...there's another thing I'd like you to be." His heart started to pound. "If, uh, you're not doing anything tomorrow..." Tyrannus gulped as he tried to get the words out. "..What I'm trying to say is that..." Tyrannus took a deep breath and got out what he wanted to say in one rapid fire sentence. "I'dliketotakeyouotonadate!" Tyrannus shut his eyes awaiting crushing rejection. But then he felt a soft hand caress his cheek. He opened his eyes to find Fluttershy smiling up at him.
"It's okay.", she said sweetly. "Take your time."
Tyrannus breathed a sigh of relief as he placed his hand over Fluttershy's. "Fluttershy. You're the sweetest girl I've ever met, and...I like you. As more than just a friend. You were the first one not to run away from me just because of how big I am. If you want to be more too, I'd be honored if you'd consider going on a date with me tomorrow."
Fluttershy nodded as she answered. "Yes."
"R-Really?", Tyrannus asked. Fluttershy nodded, and used her wings to hover so that she was eye-level with Tyrannus.
"You're very sweet Ty.", Fluttershy said with a loving smile. "All the animals seem to like you, and you've helped me become a bit more confident. For the first time, I don't feel so scared anymore." Fluttershy then put her head to Tyrannus's chest. "Not when you're around. Your heart's as big as you are. And I'd love to know you better. Because I like you too." Tears of joy fell from Tyrannus's eyes as he hugged Fluttershy tightly.
"You don't know how much this means..."
Fluttershy stroked Tyrannus's back and smiled lovingly. "I do. Because it means just as much to me."
Tyrannus dried his tears, and smiled. "Well, what would you like to do for our date?"
"How about a picnic?", Fluttershy suggested.
"That sounds wonderful. I'll help get the food ready tomorrow.", Tyrannus said with a smile. He then leaned his face forward. "Um, you wouldn't mind?" Fluttershy slowly put her lips to his, and the two shared a kiss.
"My arms are always open Ty.", Fluttershy said with a loving smile. Tyrannus smiled. The rest of the day went by, and Tyrannus found himself dreaming about his coming date. It was a beautiful day, and there was a nice breeze blowing through. Tyrannus was resting with a full belly while Fluttershy snuggled up next to him. He then heard singing and opened his eyes to find that it was coming Fluttershy. With her around, everything felt so calm and serene. Tyrannus once again closed his eyes and smiled as his dream continued to play out. Morning came soon enough, and Tyrannus woke up with a yawn. He smiled once he saw the sun shining through, and stretched before changing in the bathroom. Fluttershy was just beginning to stir from her slumber, so Tyrannus set to work getting breakfast ready. He started frying some eggs, and got toast ready. Tyrannus then proceeded to make Fluttershy's favorite tea. I'm already handling lunch. I might as well take care of breakfast while I'm at it. Tyrannus smiled as his work was complete, and Fluttershy woke up. Man she's adorable with everything she does. "Good morning."
Fluttershy stretched, and smiled as she noticed the breakfast. "Oh my. You didn't have to do that Ty."
"I was up before you. So I figured I might as well tackle two meals today while I was at it. I'll handle getting the food for our picnic ready after cleaning our plates", Tyrannus said with a smile. Fluttershy craned her neck and kissed Tyrannus on the cheek. "Thanks." Tyrannus and Fluttershy soon polished off their breakfast, and set to work clearing the table. Tyrannus grabbed the components needed to make sandwiches, and got the basket ready while Fluttershy grabbed a blanket. A few hours later, they wound a nice grassy area in the park, and got their area ready. "Sure picked a good day out for this, huh?"
Fluttershy nodded. "Well, best not let the food go to waste." Both got to work preparing their own sandwiches, and enjoyed the rare peace and quiet of Ponyville. "Moments like these really are nice." Fluttershy scooted close to Tyrannus and rested her head on his arm. Tyrannus smiled as he took a sip from his lemonade.
"Yeah. No crazy monsters, or magic incidents. No villains attacking. When you consider how crazy things can get in this little town, it really makes you appreciate quiet times like this." Tyrannus then nuzzled Fluttershy. "And the people you can share them with." Fluttershy blushed slightly before cupping Tyrannus's face and sharing a loving kiss with him. Tyrannus happily returned the kiss. The two broke the kiss and smiled at each other. However, the peace of the moment was shattered when thunder crashed across the sky! A single drop of rain fell on Tyrannus's head. "You worry about carrying the basket." Tyrannus then grabbed the blanket and used it to shield himself and Fluttershy from the rain. The two hurried home, and the rain started to pour down. It got so bad that it started to seep throught the blanket! Tyrannus ultimately had to bundle up the blanket and hand it to Fluttershy. She'd catch cold in a storm like this! Then, an idea came to Tyrannus. He then removed his tank top and used it to cover Fluttershy as they soon arrived at home. The two made it in time before the rain got even worse. However, the sounds of thunder and flashes of lightning going off made Fluttershy jumpy. Tyrannus took note of this and set her down on the couch as he wrapped his arms around her. "Don't be scared. Remember. I'm right here if you need me.", Tyrannus whispered as he held Fluttershy close. Fluttershy's nerves calmed and she sank into Tyrannus's embrace. Nuzzling his chest as she was lulled to sleep. "Sleep well butterfly." Tyrannus then closed his eyes. "When you wake up, the storm will pass." Tyrannus fell asleep himself, and he and Fluttershy slept soundly even as the storm raged on. As soon as the storm cleared, a beam of sunlight crept through one of the cottage's windows. Hitting Fluttershy's face. Fluttershy stirred, and soon woke up to find Tyrannus shirtless and holding her close. She blushed like crazy at first, but ultimately smiled before kissing his forehead.
"Wake up Ty...", she called out sweetly. Tyrannus stirred before stretching his arms, and waking up. He smiled at Fluttershy. "Thanks for everything today. Maybe it didn't all go like you planned, but it was still nice. Especially you keeping me dry and calming me."
"That's just how much I love you.", Tyrannus said with a smile. "We've got plenty of ingredients left, so how about we use them?"
Fluttershy smiled. "This time, let me worry about preparing the meal." Fluttershy set to work getting dinner ready, and the two ate happily before going to bed.
The next morning
Tyrannus's noze twitched before letting out a powerful sneeze! "A...ACHOO!" Tyrannus grabbed the nearest tissue box, and blew into a handful of tissues. He then broke out into a sneezing fit! Fluttershy heard the noise. "Oh..morning 'Shy.", Ty sniffled. "Just a little sneezy, but I'm good." Fluttershy put her hand on Tyrannus's forehead, and gasped.
"I don't think so. You've got a fever! You must have gotten a cold when you were shielding me from the rain. Come with me!" Fluttershy led Tyrannus to her bed, and got him tucked in. "There we go. This should be much comfier than the couch. Now wait right here. I'll get some soup ready for you." Fluttershy returned moments later with a tray of soup in her hands. "Here you go! This should help fix you up!" Tyrannus made sure to blow on the soup each time he took a spoonful.
"You know Fluttershy? You don't have to wait on me like this. I'm not that crippled.", Tyrannus noted.
Fluttershy smiled lovingly. "I'm just showing how much I love you too." Fluttershy then kissed Tyrannus on the forehead. "Now get some rest. You'll be better in no time." Tyrannus smiled as he tried to sleep. But he was pretty restless. "Let me help with that." Fluttershy then began to sing, and Tyrannus found himself drifting off to sleep with a pleasant smile. Fluttershy smiled as she put another blanket over him. "Sweet dreams Ty." Fluttershy then took care of Tyrannus for the remainder of the day, and fell asleep holding him close as the stars came out. Tyrannus had recovered, and pulled the covers over Fluttershy and holding her close. Fluttershy opened her eyes, and smiled.
"It's my turn to take care of you.", Tyrannus said with a loving smile as he kissed Fluttershy. "Good night." Tyrannus smiled as he held Fluttershy close and she held on to him and nuzzled him.
"Good night Ty."

Steel hummed along as music played from his phone. Steel nodded his head along as the sound echoed through his headphones to his ears. He then leaned his body to the left to avoid a rainbow-colored blur go by him. Rainbow Dash skidded to a halt, and the soles of her sneakers were almost smoking from her stopping. "Yo Steel! That was a rockin' party you and the guys turned the gala into!" Steel grinned as he took off his headphones.
"Thanks Dash! You had some pretty sweet moves out there on the dance floor." Steel then looked over Rainbow Dash's build. "Gotta say. You've got a physique like the female guards." Steel then got an idea. "Say..how about a quick hand-to-hand sparring match? I could use a chance to get to know you better. So how about it? Hope you think that's an awesome first date."
Rainbow Dash grinned. "You kidding? That sounds EPIC! Most guys are too scared to try and date me 'cuz I'm such a tomboy."
"That happens to be my favorite type.", Steel said with a smile. "They know how to handle themselves."
"Let's see how you can handle me then soldier boy!", Rainbow Dash said with a playful smirk. The two flew off, and found a clear area. "So how're we gonna do this?" Rainbow Dash cracked her knuckles. "Fists and feet only? Or can we add wings to the mix?"
"Might as well go all-out.", Steel said with a smirk. "I wanna see if I can keep up with the fastest flier in Equestria." Steel got into a defensive stance. "I'll let you get in the first move. But don't think I'll go easy on ya!"
Rainbow Dash chuckled. "I'd be ticked if you held back!" The two stood in ready stances. The wind blew through the air, and Rainbow Dash advanced first! She flew at Steel, and readied herself for a kick! Steel grabbed her leg, and used it to platform off of her to take to the air! Rainbow Dash was surprised, but soon recovered and flew up to him with a fist ready to meet Steel's face! Steel rolled his head to dodge the incoming fist, and aimed a kick at Rainbow Dash's side! Rainbow Dash saw this coming and caught Steel's leg before spinning him in the air! Steel was a bit dizzy afterward, and Rainbow Dash took this as her chance to strike as Steel struggled to keep himself in the air with his wings! But Steel did the unexpected, and dove to the ground! Steel landed on his feet in a crouching position, and looked up at Rainbow Dash with a smirk. Rainbow Dash huffed. "I guess you're pretty good. But I'm not done yet!" Rainbow Dash dove down at Steel full-speed! Steel smiled as he focused some energy into his right leg! Steel then soumersaulted into the air with a silver aura trailing his kick! Rainbow Dash came to a full stop only an instant away from the attack! Steel then stood up.
"How about we settle this on the ground?", Steel asked with a playful smirk. Rainbow Dash smirked in return as she landed.
"Hold on..." Rainbow Dash slipped off her hoodie to reveal her tank top. "Alright! Bring it!" Steel and Rainbow Dahs charged at each other! They limbs became a blur of punches and kicks with neither of them landing a hit! Both weren't letting up, and the two soon found themselves locked in a grapple! Neither was giving the other any ground! But with how long they had been going at it, both were pretty exhausted! The two were heavily panting as their grapple started to waver and they tumbled along the ground! Rainbow Dash smirked down at Steel as she noticed she was on top of him when they had come to a stop. "Heh! Looks like I win!"
Steel smirked. "That. Or, you've left yourself wide open!" Steel then began to tickle Rainbow Dash! Rainbow Dash couldn't help but laugh out loud! "Happy I didn't kiss you this time?", Steel asked as he ceased tackling Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash's sides had recovered, and she smiled down at Steel.
"Actually...I kinda miss you kissing me. It's nice, y'know?" Rainbow Dash then leaned her face down at Steel's. "I'm just mad I didn't get the first move.", she said with a flirty smile as she closed the distance with a kiss. Steel all too happily returned the kiss with a make-out session. The two simply rested. "Hey, Steel? I...I l-" Steel put a finger to Rainbow Dash's mouth.
"I know you're gonna have a hard time saying it. But I already know." The two continued kissing. "You know? It's a shame guys that were interested in you didn't have the guts to ask you out."
Rainbow Dash tilted her head in confusion. "Why's that?"
Steel smiled. "You're a pretty good kisser."
Rainbow Dash smiled and playfully punched Steel in the arm. "Back to lip-locking boyfriend."

It had started as just another day for Inferno. He woke up, got cleaned up and dressed, and ate breakfast. What wasn't routine that morning was Rarity wrapping her arms around him and nuzzling him. But then again, he'd done a lot for her. Get her dresses the coverage they needed, saved her and the rest of the girls from Night Terror, and slugged that punk Blueblood for treating her so bad at the gala. "I guess this is your way of repaying my kindness?", Inferno asked with a grin.
Rarity giggled. "Maaybe~!" , she sang before letting go. "I really can't justify my thanks with words darling."
"Well...I kinda want to pay you back too...", Inferno said with a light blush.
"Really? What for Inferno?"
"You...were my first kiss....", Inferno said sheepishly. "I'll never forget that moment."
Rarity blushed. "Do...you think I was a bit too lively back there?"
Inferno shook his head. "Trust me. Half the girls I tried dating while I used to perform were so dead inside. You? I was hoping for a woman like you to come my way." Inferno stretched his wings a little. "But as they say. A dragon's got to find his treasure. It doesn't come to him." Rarity smiled lovingly as she walked up to Inferno. "And a girl like you is a real gem. Inner and outer beauty in a single package is incredible rare. I guess that's why your name suits you so well."
Rarity fanned herself. "About as well as yours fits you.", Rarity said with a smile. "You have passion that matches your namesake."
Inferno chuckled. "Thanks. Well, on to how I'd like to repay you. I'd be honored if you'd go out with me to dinner tonight. My treat."
"I accept your invitation darling.", Rarity said with a smile before kissing Inferno. "But first? We've got a work day to finish." Rarity giggled as she swore she could've seen sparks of flame going off in Inferno's eyes as he got to work. You more than live up to your potential as a boyfriend darling. , Rarity thought with a loving smile as she got to work filling out orders. Before either knew it, the end of their work day had come.
"I hope you don't mind, but we're not going anywhere special.", Inferno announced. "I may have plenty of bits, but I'm saving them up for a rainy day."
Rarity smiled. "Don't worry darling! What makes a moment special is how much a couple enjoys their date." Inferno breathed a sigh of relief and grabbed his wallet and holding the door open for Rarity. "So well mannered for a dragon."
Inferno chuckled. "I gotta make sure my treasure is well taken care of, right?"
"How sweet of you.", Rarity said with a giggle. The two headed out the door, and headed to the restaurant Inferno had picked out. As soon as they were inside, they grabbed a seat and ordered. "You know...it's odd."
Inferno tilted his head in confusion. "What's odd?"
Rarity giggled. "I've been looking for my prince charming ever since I was a young girl. I guess I've always been the romantic type waiting for the right man to sweep me off my feet. I always pictured who I wanted to be with. A handsome, princely gentleman who'd treat my like royalty." Rarity then frowned remembering Blueblood. "But then again, it would seem that not all princes are that charming." Rarity then looked to Inferno and smiled. "I should have been looking for the type of person that I needed in my life." Rarity then put one of her hands over Inferno's! Causing his wings to flare out and his face to blush! "Tell me darling. Did you only jump in at that moment? Or where you trailing me the whole night?"
Inferno gulped! "I...I was following you the whole night. I saw how badly you were being treated. I've had a bad experience with that brat of a prince too. My band was performing one night in Canterlot, and that snob was in the private box. He insulted my playing, my vocals, and my music. But that wasn't what made me mad. What got me so angry at the punk was that he insulted all of the audience." Inferno sighed. "So when you were going on about how enchanted you were by him...it took a lot in me not to ramble on about how much of a jerk he was. But it wasn't my place to judge who you had interest in or who to love. All the same, I couldn't even stand the mental image of someone like you ever being remotely close to a jerk like Blueblood." Inferno sighed. "So...I just decided to keep an eye on you. If I couldn't have you, then I could at the very least have your happiness on my conscience." Inferno looked to Rarity and saw her tearing up. "Hey there...no need for that." Inferno put a hand on Rarity's cheek. "Things worked out in the end, right?"
Rarity smiled as she closed her eyes and nodded. "I suppose if anyone would know about treasuring something, it would be a handsome dragon like yourself." Rarity opened her eyes and brought Inferno's close to hers. "There's no one I'd rather belong to."
"And there's nobody I'd rather have.", Inferno said with a loving smile. He then closed the distance between them with a kiss. One that Rarity happily returned before breaking away for air. "I don't think I'll need to worry about dessert later. That kiss was the sweetest thing I've ever tasted." The food soon arrived. "I guess all this romantic talk's got my heart full but my stomach empty!", Inferno joked before digging into his pasta. Rarity giggled as she ate her own meal. The two walked out with smiles as the stars began to come out. "Hope this wasn't too common a date for you Rarity."
Rarity smiled lovingly at Inferno. "I had a wonderful time Inferno." Rarity then cupped Inferno's face. "I can't wait for when we can do this again." Rarity had a flirty smile on her face. "Call me your treasure once more. It makes me feel nice in my heart."
Inferno leaned in. "My treasure." The two then shared a kiss in the moonlight before returning home. "Hope you enjoyed that good night kiss.", Inferno said with a smile.
"I'll be dreaming about it.", Rarity said as she went to her own room and fell asleep. Dreaming about Inferno holding her tight all the while. As for Inferno, he simply dreamed of Rarity as he fell asleep. Both having content smiles as they dreamed.

Things began as any other day for Burst. He woke up, stretched, and looked at his calendar. Normally he just nodded at the day that awaited him, but not this time. This time, he smiled. "Better not keep her waiting for long!" Burst leaped out of bed, grabbed his clothes, and changed instantly before cleaning himself up in the bathroom. "Hmm. Think I'll skip breakfast this morning. I can't wait to see her!" Burst focused his magic as its aura enveloped his hand and soon his entire body as he concentrated on a specific location and person. In a flash of light, Burst teleported to the throne room of Princess Celestia. Needless to say, Celestia was pleasantly surprised when she saw Burst teleport in front of her. Burst looked to Celestia, and couldn't help but smile at her. "Hi there Celestia!"
"It's lovely to see you again Burst.", Celestia said with a smile. "I trust you're ready for our day?"
Burst smiled. "To be honest, it's been on my mind a lot." Celestia then stood up and walked towards Burst. "So, is there anything in specific you wanted to do today?" Burst's stomach then grumbled, and he nervously smiled. "Because I've got a good idea where to start!"
Celestia giggled. "Breakfast sounds like a lovely way to start today."
"I know just the place!", Burst said with a cheerful smile. "So how do you want to get there? Magic, or by foot?"
"Actually, I was hoping you'd like to fly with me.", Celestia said with a light blush. Burst simply nodded, and he and Celestia were soon in the air. As they flew, Burst couldn't help but take in how gracefully Celestia moved through the air. However, Celestia noticed and glided over to him. "It sure is a nice day out isn't it?"
Burst blushed! "Y-yeah! You really put in the extra effort today." Burst managed a small smile. "Actually...I think about you everyday Celestia. And...I'm pretty nervous about today. My first kiss and my first date. Two of the biggest milestones in my life, and I've spent them with the princess of Equestria. Sometimes, I think I'm insulting you by approaching you like you're so familiar." Burst frowned a little. "Well...we're here. Hope this isn't too common a place for you." Burst and Celestia had landed in front of Donut Joe's. "It's no place on Restaurant Row, but it's one of the few places I enjoyed going to while I lived here in Canterlot." To Burst's surprise, Celestia put a hand on his shoulder and smiled as she looked down on her.
"This place is perfect Burst.", Celestia said kindly. "Since you've decided to be so open with me, it's only fair I be open with you."
Burst was confused. "What do you mean?"
"The truth is, I love how you approach me so casually.", Celestia said with a fond smile. "I know my subjects adore me as their leader, but seeing them get so worked up by just being around me can be a bit tiring. It's nice to have someone who can see me as a normal person. Especially since the only other person I've felt deep affection for is my sister. That's what makes you so special Burst." Celestia looked right into Burst's eyes. "I've had many suitors in my life Burst. Each one holding me high like a goddess. A being they didn't feel worthy of, or one who was out of reach and too good for them. And I was upset about it. I wanted the one who loved me to love me as a person. Not for my title, or my crown, or even my beauty. Not as someone they felt to prove their worth to. And I'd say it's been worth the wait for someone like you. You've given me more happiness than any other who's tried courting me."
"Well, the whole reason I made that promise long ago was to make you happy.", Burst said with a smile. "I'm just glad I've been doing a good job. Come on. Those donuts aren't gonna eat themselves!" The two headed in. Needless to say, the patrons were shocked to see their beloved ruler walk into such an everyday establishment. And with company no less! Burst simply led Celestia to the counter. "Hey Joe! Been a while!"
"Uh..y-yeah! Burst? You DO know who's with you right?"
Burst smiled and nodded. "Yup! My date!" The entire place was so quiet a pin could be heard dropping. "So you got any of those chocolate cake donuts I like?" Joe nodded, and Burst left the bits on the counter."Thanks! So Celestia? Which donut you want?"
"I think I'll try what you're having.", Celestia said with a warm smile.
"You won't be disappointed.", Burst beamed. The two sat down at a table, and enjoyed their donuts.
"I wish I'd learned about these types of donuts sooner!", Celestia said cheerfully. "These are delicious!"
Burst smiled. "I know, right? I'd usually have one every Friday back at CSGU to celebrate the week ending." Burst also took note of the crumbs on Celestia's face. "Looks like someone's got a major sweet tooth."
Celestia giggled. "What can I say? Sweets are my kryptonite. Especially cake. Luna worries that I'll get fat."
"Well it either goes to all the right places, or you burn it off having to do all that paperwork!", Burst joked! He and Celestia shared a laugh. "So where to next? I've got nothing but time on my hands."
"A walk in the park would be nice to work off breakfast.", Celestia said with a smile. The two headed outside, Celestia caught a flash out of the corner of her eye. "Oh no..."
Burst took note of her distress. "What's wrong?"
"Photographers.", Celestia said with a sigh. "It's rare that they see me out of the castle, so they try to snap a picture of me whenever they can. Usually to see if they can get any gossip on me, or try to leak a rare sight of me. I'm sorry Burst. It looks like we might need to cancel this date now."
Burst steeled his gaze. "No. You're having a good time, and I refuse to let a few lousy pictures ruin it. They want a spectacle so bad?" Burst then smirked playfully. "Then let's make this date the show they crave." Celestia blinked before smiling as Burst put an arm and a wing around her, and activated his magic. A flower was soon covered in the blue aura that cloaked Burst's hand, and was levitated over to Celestia.
"Are they still snapping pictures?" , Burst whispered. Celestia looked out of the corner of her eye, and smiled.
"Yes." Celestia smiled as she took the flower and sniffed it. "And I thought you knew how to show me a good time at the Grand Galloping Gala."
"Well, I know you're very busy most of the time. So when we can be together, I intend to make these moments the best for both of us.", Burst answered with a smile. "It looks like I'm doing a good job so far." The two continued walking, and soon rested in a grassy area. "Hard to believe so much excitement's happened in such a short time. Isn't it?"
Celestia nodded. "My sister's return. The Nightmare Forces attacking. For a peaceful kingdom, things sure are eventful."
"And to think I've been involved in the excitement.", Burst said with a chuckle. He then noticed the photographers had left. "And now, we've got a nice moment alone it would seem." Burst shot a flirty smile at Celestia. "Care to make good use of it?" Celestia smiled as put one of her arms around Burst and brought him in for a kiss. That is, until a certain brat of a prince came in.
"AUNTIE!", Blueblood screamed as he marched over to the two of them. Burst blinked as he stood up.
"I'm sorry sir. Is there a problem?", Burst asked.
Blueblood narrowed his eyes. "Yes. YOU. How dare a commoner such as you defile my aunt with your presence?!"
"Funny. Who are you to say who she should like? She seemed to enjoy my company when we danced at the gala. Especialy when we kissed.", Burst said with a smirk before looking over to Celestia. "Hey, Celestia? How is this spoiled brat related to you again?"
Blueblood was furious! "You filth! I am her nephew! Her pure blood runs through my veins!"
Celestia stood up, and walked over to the two. "Blueblood. I have some important news for you."
"Are you making me your direct heir?!", Blueblood asked with wide eyes.
Celestia shook her head, and a serene smile graced her face. "No. But it's something just as important." Celestia leaned in and got in Blueblood's face. "You're adopted." Blueblood had an expression of shock and horror on his face. "Surprise!" Blueblood took off weeping. Celestia then began to laugh. It had a musical feel to it. "You don't know how long I've been waiting to tell him that!" Burst soon cracked up into a fit of laughter as well.
"That look on his face was priceless!" Burst and Celestia soon recovered from their laughing fit. "So...where were we?"
Celestia smiled lovingly as she eased Burst onto the ground. "Right here." The two shared a kiss. One deeper than the one they had shared at the gala. Both felt quite content when they broke it off.
"I love you Celestia.", Burst said with a loving smile. "My little princess."
Celestia giggled. "I love you too Burst. My dragon knight." The two continued to enjoy their time before parting ways. "Thanks for giving me a fun day!"
"Same to you." The two shared a hug before Burst flew off for home. No matter how hard my days can be, thinking of you makes it all worth going through it , Burst thought as he landed at his house. I guess now...I've got a reason to fight harder. Burst smiled as he turned on his TV and saw the news of his date. "I got the feeling me and my friends are going to get very popular very soon."
Elements of Heroism Interlude: First Dates
Burst sat on a hill watching the sunset. He then used his magic to broadcast a telepathic message to the Elements of Heroism that had yet to awaken. "We've defeated the Nightmare Forces. But this is only the beginning of our adventures. More enemies are sure to rise up and try to destroy what we love. That's for certain. The life of a hero isn't the easiest one. Sometimes you'll find yourself wondering if you chose the right path or not." Burst then smiled as he thought of the friends he'd made along the way, and the love he and some of the guys had found. "But in times when we doubt our path, we must remember the reason we're fighting, and the people that make that fight all the more worth winning. Our friends, families, and the ones we love. My name is Burst Stream. And I send this message to the Elements of Heroism who have yet to awaken. We're here. We're waiting." And with that, Burst retired to his home. Thinking of Celestia as he went to sleep that night. Someone like her makes this life all the more worth it.
