Chapter 1: Twilight’s Rescue, and the Warrior Prince
“Oh, no, no, no, no, no! Twilight’s been kidnapped!” Fluttershy shouted, which was unusual for her.
“Chirp?” A nearby red-breasted robin asked.
“Oh, hi, Professor, one of my friends has been kidnapped. I went to deliver some food for Owlicious, and there was a note. I should tell the rest of my friends, but we don’t know where she was taken, and I don’t think any of us have enough bits, even if we all pitch in, to pay the ransom! Oh, what can I do?” The Professor chirped a response.
“What? You have a friend who can help? Oh, thank you, but I don’t think the animals can-” He squawked, apparently angry. “Wait, he’s not an animal? But, then how can he understand you?”
The robin made a gesture with his wings, as if to say, ‘Magic, you fool!’ “Oh, okay. Can you give him this?” Fluttershy asked, handing the ransom note to the Professor. The robin nodded, and
flew off in a hurry.
“Hello, Professor Red, what do you have for me?” A young caribou warrior, who was roughing it in the Everfree, asked the robin flying towards him.
‘Hello Dainn, Fluttershy asked me to give this to you. I know you don’t want to interact with the ponies just yet, but this is important enough to warrant a speedup in your plans.’ The robin chirped to him.
Dainn sighed, “Let me see.” He took the note out of the Professor’s mouth, and read it. “A ransom note? Why would-” He started, until he saw the kidnapper’s threat against the young Princess of Magic. He then got more and more enraged as he read on, until he finally tore up the paper in rage. “I need to find my greatsword, they will PAY for what they have done!”
Twilight was having a really bad day. Not only was she and Spike kidnapped, not only was she bound and gagged, but the kidnappers had threatened to horrible, depraved things to her. She started to cry at the real possibility of being used, when suddenly a large crash was heard.
“What the buck was that?!” an earth pony thug said, drawing his dagger.
“I don’t know, but we’re about to find out.” A minotaur brute said, holding a battleaxe. Moving over to the next room, the minotaur was about to bust down the door, when a red beam of magic blasted through, impaling him into the wall behind him.
“Dumb brute, you think you can outsmart me?!” A enraged voice said. The voice belong to a caribou who stepped out of the dust storm resulting from the magical blast. “By the nine realms of Tartarus, I think not!” The caribou warrior drew a large, twin-edged greatsword with runes on the blade, each of them glowing a deep, bloody, ominous red. “And I should know hell on earth better than almost everyone.” With these words, he charged into the mob of thugs and bandits, cutting through them as a hot knife slices through butter. “Pathetic! You may talk like a warrior, but you certainly cannot fight like one!” He says to a large minotaur, possibly the boss.
“You dare come in here, ruin our plans, destroy my men, and then have the NERVE to INSULT ME?! YOU WILL DIE!” The brutish thug said.
“No, YOU will, for DARING to kidnap an innocent mare like the Princess of Magic, AND harm a youngling, her draconic assistant. Remember my name, for it will strike fear into the hearts of monsters like you. I am DAINN VON MADDMOOSE, The rogue Caribou Prince, Bringer of Justice, and Warlord of the Everfree. NOW, DIE!” With that, he charged, and sliced the minotaur’s head clean off. “That’s the end of that mess.” He said, turning to Twilight. “Now then, let’s get you back to your friends, eh? I’m sure they are worried about you.”
