Queen Chrysalis's Revenge
Fluttershy was singing a song to her pets and feeding the birds, when Rarity walked up to her.
“Hi Rarity,” said Fluttershy. “What’s going on?”
“I have the ultimate plan!” said Rarity. A pillar of green flame appeared around her, and she transformed into Queen Chrysalis!
“Queen Chrysalis!” said Fluttershy, backing away in terror.
“I’m not queen anymore, thanks to Starlight Glimmer!” said Chrysalis.
“What have you done with Rarity?”
“She’s imprisoned in a chrysalis in a dark cave somewhere. I trapped her there yesterday, then took her form and fed off Spike’s love for her! Now, I need a pegasus for what I have planned!”
“Discord won’t let you do this! Any second now...”
“Even Discord shall fall once my plan is underway!” said Chrysalis. She bit Fluttershy’s tail and flew with her to the caves beneath Canterlot. Rarity could be seen hanging from the ceiling imprisoned in a chrysalis. Chrysalis trapped Fluttershy’s hooves in green slime.
“What are you going to do?” said Fluttershy, trembling with fear.
“I need a pegasus for a ritual,” said Chrysalis. “It requires a circle to be drawn in unicorn blood, too.” Chrysalis walked toward Rarity, licking her lips.
“Chrysalis don’t!” said Fluttershy.
Chrysalis stabbed Rarity in the throat with her horn, and levitated a bowl under her, which began filling up with blood. Rarity shuddered, and then was still.
“How could you?” said Fluttershy, tears running down her face.
“Oh, I’m going to do far worse to Starlight Glimmer!” said Chrysalis. She took a paintbrush, dipped it in the bowl of Rarity’s blood, and drew a circle around Fluttershy.
“Now all I have to do is say an incantation and sacrifice a pegasus!” said Chrysalis. She began chanting the incantation, and Fluttershy heard a name in there somewhere, and began trembling more. This was the name of one of the only two enemies more threatening than Chrysalis!
Then Chrysalis slashed Fluttershy with her horn. Fluttershy fell to the ground, her blood flowing out of the huge gash and flowing over the circle of Rarity’s blood.
Fluttershy couldn’t even speak. She took one last breath, and lay still.
A pillar of dark light rose up where Fluttershy’s body lay, and when it was gone, in her place was a dark gray unicorn with a flowing black mane and tail, a cape, green eyes with purple mist around them, and a demonic horn that was red at the tip.
“I live!” said King Sombra. “Who has brought me back?”
“I have,” said Chrysalis. “I am Chrysalis, former queen of the changelings! I propose we form an alliance and take over Equestria!”
“What do I have to gain by working with you?” said Sombra.
“The Crystal Empire! If you try to take it again, they’ll just use the Crystal Heart and destroy you again! I have a way to get by that!”
“I’m listening,” said Sombra.
Spike walked into the Crystal Empire.
“It’s Spike!” said the crystal ponies. “Hero of the Crystal Empire!”
“Yeah, that’s me,” said Spike. He walked toward the Crystal Heart, and began sucking its power. For “Spike” was really Chrysalis in disguise!
“What are you doing?” said a crystal pony.
“Admiring the Crystal Heart!” said Chrysalis. “It’s the weapon I used to take Sombra out, and therefore a symbol of my victory!”
Technically it was Princess Cadance and all the Crystal Ponies that unleashed the Crystal Heart’s power, but only because Spike got it to Cadance, so nopony argued with her.
Soon, Chrysalis was fully powered up. She reassumed her true form and shot a blast of green magic into the air.
Sombra saw the signal, and charged into the Crystal Empire. The clouds turned dark, and dark crystals came up everywhere.
“It’s him!” said a crystal pony. “I thought we got rid of him for good!”
Princess Cadance flew up to them. “Use the Crystal Heart!” she said.
The crystal ponies tried to unleash the Crystal Heart, but it didn’t work.
“Its power is gone!” said Chrysalis. “I have taken it all!”
“Chrysalis!” said Shining Armor as he ran to Cadance’s side. “You brought King Sombra back, didn’t you?”
“Yes I did, and there’s nothing you can do to stop us!” said Chrysalis.
Cadance shot a beam of light blue magic at Chrysalis, who countered with a beam of green magic. They entered a beam struggle, but super-powered from the Crystal Heart, Chrysalis quickly overpowered Cadance, knocking her to the ground. Sombra shot his own blast of magic at Cadance, reducing her to ash.
“Cadance! No!” said Shining Armor, and he shot a magic beam at Sombra, which Sombra deflected, and stabbed Shining Armor in the throat with his horn. Shining Armor fell to the ground dead in his own puddle of unicorn blood.
“The Crystal Empire is mine!” said Sombra. “Now I shall enslave the crystal ponies some more, and brainwash them to take the rest of Equestria!”
“I will be your most loyal servant,” said Chrysalis. “If you don’t want to make me your queen.”
“I am considering it,” said Sombra. “You’re almost as evil as I am.”
“Now, let me take Flurry Heart,” said Chrysalis.
“Who?” said Sombra.
“Shining Armor and Cadance’s baby,” said Chrysalis. “She’ll give me a little extra power. You can do what you will with everypony else, but remember, Starlight Glimmer is mine!”
Discord appeared. “I thought I sensed a magical imbalance,” he said. “Chrysalis! I haven’t forgotten how you captured Fluttershy before!”
“Fluttershy is dead!” said Chrysalis. “I sacrificed her to resurrect him!”
“NOOOOOOOO!” said Discord. He raised his fingers to snap them, but Sombra encrusted Discord’s entire body with dark crystals. Then he and Chrysalis blasted Discord, who exploded in a flash of green light.
Starlight was hanging out with Trixie, when Chrysalis flew over to them.
“Chrysalis,” said Starlight. “We meet again.”
“For the last time!” said Chrysalis. “I’ve resurrected King Sombra and obtained more power than I’ve ever dreamed of!” She shot a magic beam at Trixie, vaporizing her.
“No, Trixie!” said Starlight. “You’re a monster!”
“Your death shall not come so swiftly,” said Chrysalis.
Starlight and Chrysalis entered a beam struggle. Chrysalis overpowered Starlight, knocking her out.
Starlight woke up in the caves beneath Canterlot. Her hooves were trapped in green slime. Rarity’s lifeless corpse could be seen hanging in a chrysalis, and Flurry Heart could be seen inside another chrysalis. Chrysalis was feeding off some of her love energy. At least she was still alive.
“You killed Rarity!” said Starlight.
“And Fluttershy, and Discord!” said Chrysalis. “Sombra and I shall take Equestria! But first I shall have my revenge! I shall torture you like you can’t even imagine, and then I’ll kill you in the most violent way I can think of!”
Starlight tried to blast Chrysalis, but found that she couldn’t. She realized to her horror that her horn had been cut off.
Chrysalis impaled Starlight’s leg with her horn, missing the major artery, for she didn’t want her to die just yet. Then she took a scooper and removed Starlight’s eye, Doc Benton style, while Starlight screamed in pain. Chrysalis took Starlight’s severed horn and stabbed her in the side with it. Then she cut off her tail and shoved it down her throat. Then she blasted her with a magic beam.
Chrysalis licked her lips at Starlight’s pain. Once she was satisfied enough, she slit Starlight’s throat.
Fluttershy woke up, breathing heavily. Her mane and tail were frazzled from tossing and turning in her sleep. She looked around. She was in her bed, in her cottage, not observing Chrysalis doing horrible things to Starlight. She breathed a sigh of relief. It was all a nightmare. She was still very much alive, and so were her friends, and Sombra was still dead. She wasn’t even sure that kind of ritual existed. If she asked Twilight, she’d probably tell her it didn’t.
But Chrysalis was still out there. After she had lost her kingdom and her army she had flown away, swearing revenge on Starlight. She had said no revenge she could ever conceive of would come close to it, and she had said it to a pony who had once tried to alter time to take away Twilight and her friends’ cutie marks and their friendship as part of her own revenge plan, so she must have something horrible planned.
Fluttershy shuddered to think what Chrysalis would do when she returned. This was the fourth nightmare she’d had about her already. One nightmare had involved her killing a kitten. She’d never be able to rest easy until Chrysalis was either destroyed or reformed.
Author's Note
Of course the kitten thing is a reference to the comics, which I go by as a separate continuity from the show, a parallel universe where some events of the show transpire the same way but it has its differences (such as dragons being immune to lava in the show but not the comics)
Again, wrote when I was feeling really down about her flying away and what would happen eventually if she remains alive and evil. (Even so I couldn't bring myself to actually write a story where she really does that, so that's why I made it Fluttershy's nightmare)
