Coffee
Monday
Load Full StoryApplebloom groaned.
It was 6:00 am in the morning, and it was a Monday. Which sadly meant it was a school day. Applebloom would get up at 6:00 am, get ready by 7:00 am, get to the coffee shop by 7:30 am, and arrive at "Rainboom's Oddities". She and her two best friends had stuck to this schedule for four years, ever since they met each other in the coffee shop.
Rainboom's Oddities was a small coffee shop that she, Courtney and Annabelle meet up at before school. The main reason they do this is because the coffee there is great, but also they like to hang before boring lectures and boring subjects.
Sighing, Applebloom decided to get ready. She was always an early bird, and she always loved getting their first before her friends. It meant that she could pick what they drink.
Applebloom, Courtney and Annabelle had a small tradition of, whom ever gets to the coffee shop first, gets to pick what they order. But, it did mean that she would have to pay for it. Eh, at least she could pick something that would probably burn their tongues off.
As she gets dressed, Applebloom remembers the first time she actually entered "Rainboom's Oddities"...
After the first week of moving into Canterlot, being the curious ten year old she was, Applebloom decided to go exploring, and a certain shop caught her eye. She managed to convince her Sister and Grandmother to enter the coffee shop with her, dragging them into, what seemed to her, the most glorious place in the world.
The warm air in the shop reminded Applebloom of a warm sizzling day in July from her hometown. The air welcomed customers with a coffee smell, mixing the smell of cakes and other baked goods.
The smell was circulating the shop because the coffee bar is located near the left side of the door. The first thing that caught her eyes was the baked goods. They are delicately laying on the transparent see-through glass cabinet, lining up and waiting for someone to buy them. Near the ceiling of the bar, there were different kinds of packed coffee bean packed in tiny black pockets.
It was an open kitchen style bar.
There are vintage photographs placed around the wall of the shop. The dim lights on the ceiling were bright, they shone down onto the customers as they picked their baked goods, or warm beverage. Sofa, chairs and tables were presented neatly, spread out around the room.
But what caught the eyes of many people, was the quarter-of-a-circle stage in a corner, ready for a band, or a singer to perform on it.
Suddenly giggling to herself, Applebloom remembered the first time she saw Annabelle tongue burn to death. Oh what a sight it was! Courtney had to buy a huge glass of water for Annabelle to be satisfied with the temperature of her tongue.
The sixteen year old was pulled out of her thoughts when her clock said "7:21". She silently cursed to herself.
She bolted down stairs, shoes and her backpack in hand. She skidded to a stop, put her shoes on, and ran out of the door.
The coffee shop was where she first met her two best friends. And hey, if she's lucky, she might make more..
