Lies and Love
The Truth Hurts
Load Full StoryRainbow Dash was talking with her friends and received a letter from Gilda saying she needed a meetup in Cloudsdale at her Cloudsdale home. The message told her to be at her house at 11:30 am and to stay through lunch. Rainbow decided to get there early, because Gilda hates it even if you're a single second late. She said goodbye to Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Twilight, Fluttershy, AJ, and Spike, and set off for home to get ready.
"I wonder what Gilda needs a meeting for. Maybe something about JFSC (Junior Speedster Flight Camp)? Or maybe Griffinstone? Possibly...the Wonderbolts? Hmmm..." Rainbow thought. Her mind was shooting ideas all around her head like laser beams, and eventually she gave up and decided that she would find out soon enough.
And so she began the long flight to Cloudsdale. She didn't rush, because she knew she would most likely be there almost a full 20 mins early. She was thinking about maybe the two of them going to see a Wonderbolts show, or to get ice cream that afternoon, or see a new movie. Soon, before she knew it, she was at the front door of Gilda's house, only 19 mins early. Since the letter said for her to welcome herself in, she did.
And the sight she saw when the door slowly creaked open was horrendous.
There was Gilda, on the couch, but there was the body of some stallion on top of her. As Rainbow creeped along the walls to see who this mysterious stallion was, she soon saw a glint in the eyes. She recognized that eye. But it couldn't be true. Not...no...it couldn't be....not....not....
.....not him...not...Soarin....
Soarin was the stallion on top of Gilda. Rainbow's heart made a lump in her throat and dropped to her hooves at the same time. She didn't know how to react. Should she scream in rage? If so, at who? Her crush and love, or her best friend? Or should she run away crying, never talking to either again? Should she slowly creep away and send a letter to Gilda saying she couldn't make it to the meeting? She was confused, beyond angry, overwhelmed, depressed, and hateful. By the time she had made up her mind, it was too late.
Soarin looked up. And so did Gilda.
