A Loving Bond with Two Foals
A/N: This one-shot songfic takes place after an adaptation of "To Where and Back Again" in the UPGVerse fanfic series by me, JusSonic and a couple of our friends.
Ever since she, Phobos, Starlight, Trixie, Thorax and Discord saved the Mane 6, Spike, Ben Valorheart, Shining, the Princesses and her baby cousin Flurry Heart from the clutches of Queen Chrysalis, Nyx was glad that all is right with Equestria, and that Thorax is the new ruler of the Changelings, who have all been reformed. Except for Chrysalis herself, of course. While the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, Trixie, Ben, Shining, Cadance and the Princesses were discussing with King Thorax about the events that happened with them up to now (i.e. The Dark Spring Water, Filthy Rich as mayor of Ponyville) and what to do in case something bad would happen again, Twilight gave Nyx the opportunity to bond with her baby cousin, Flurry Heart.
Flurry cooed and gurgled happily when she saw Nyx walk up to her as the black alicorn greeted in baby talk, "Eh-oh, Fluwwy!" Flurry giggled as her black cousin nuzzled her happily, "I'm really glad you were born, because you are my favorite cousin! Next to Snow Pillow, of course."
Then she got onto the bed and held onto her as she explained to her, "When I first saw you, Flurry, a really warm and cuddly feeling came up inside me, and ever since the day the Crystal Empire was saved, I think of you every day when we're away from each other. And I must confess; when you, Uncle Shiny and Aunt Cadance along with Mommy, Spike and the rest of the Mane Six were captured by the Changelings, we were all very, very worried about you." Nyx smiled as she finished, "And now that Chrysalis has been defeated and the Changelings were reformed, we got you back safe and sound. And we're all together again."
Flurry cooed and gurgled happily upon hearing what Nyx said before she hugged her happily. The black-and-purple foal hugged Flurry back as she said, "I love you, Flurry Heart."
A few minutes later, Flurry Heart was having a bubble bath. She enjoyed playing with the bubbles before she giggled as some water poured onto her. As she shook off the water, Nyx, who was holding a towel with magic, began to sing as she smiled.
Nyx: There must be something more to us than you and me
As she sang, she wrapped the towel around her baby cousin. Then she lifted her up and held her in her front forelegs.
It must be tangled up somehow with destiny
Flurry cooed and giggled as Nyx happily nuzzled her cheek.
I used to think the sum of one and one was two
But we add up to more, me and you
Later, as she sat on a swing in the Crystal Empire park, Nyx was feeding a bottle of milk to Flurry.
When we are close together, it's so plain to see
Together, we are better than we used to be
Nyx pulled the bottle away from her baby cousin, making sure she wouldn't drink so fast.
I don't know how to say the things I'm thinking of
Then she started rubbing noses with Flurry, making her coo and giggle happily.
But the something more I'm feeling must be love
As she held her cousin in one foreleg and one side of the swing with the other, Nyx started swinging as the two had fun. Minutes later, under a rainbow, the foal formerly known as Nightmare Moon held onto Flurry as she spun around while giggling.
I used to think the sum of one and one was two
At one point, Nyx was running through the fields with Flurry riding on her back. About a half hour after that, they were playing hide and seek as Shining and Cadance's baby daughter looked for her older cousin.
But we add up to more, me and you
As she sang, while hiding behind the tree, Nyx playfully tapped on Flurry's flank, causing her to look behind the tree to try and find her, but Twilight's daughter appeared on the other side of the tree and tapped Flurry's flank again with a giggle. Reacting to this, Flurry turned around and search behind the tree, finding herself flying around the tree a couple times, trying to find Nyx, but surprisingly, there wasn't any sign of her. The baby alicorn looked around in confusion until she smiled as she saw Nyx sitting on top of the branch above her. The black foal jumped off the branch, using her wings to slow her descent, and then she picked up Flurry with a smile as she sang.
I don't know how to say the things I'm thinking of
Moments later, Nyx was walking back towards the Crystal Empire castle with Flurry Heart riding on her.
But the something more I'm feeling must be love
As she walked, the black filly looked at her baby cousin who looked back at her as they both smiled happily, forming an unbreakable bond together.
"Awww!" The two heard voices before they turned and saw their respective parents nearby.
"Nightmare Moon hugging a baby." Ben teased a bit.
"Isn't it so cute?" Cadance giggled. "Shiny? Get a picture."
"You got it, Cadance." Shining said with a smirk, then he brought out a camera and took a picture of the two adorable foals together.
"They are so adorable together!" Twilight exclaimed happily.
"It's good to see something like this again." Ben said with a laugh.
Nyx gave out a squee as she started wagging her tail while Flurry Heart giggled happily.
