Mrs.Cake Sweet Treat Series: Picture Perfect.
"Say cake!" The soft soprano voice of Mrs.Cake spoke in her motherly tone, holding a camera in her hooves.
But even the calmest of tones would not settle down her little ones, they sat upon a large velvet chair in front of a pale pink background fighting. Pound cake was tugging on his sister's mane roughly as Pumpkin was...
"Aaaaah!" Pound cried out as his sister lit up her horn in anger, small muzzle scrunched up cutely before she lifted the colt high in the air, ready to throw him out the nearby window.
"Pumpkin! No throwing brother out the window anymore!" Mrs.Cake scolded her violet hues narrowing at her daughter, Pound fluttering his wings wildly in the air trying to escape.
Pumpkin blew a large raspberry as she readied up her pitch, Pound screaming aloud in fear as he began to swing in circles around the chair.
"Do it and no sweets for a year!" The mare walked over in anger as she glared down her daughter.
Pumpkin pouted as she rolled her blue hues and playfully tossed her brother off the side of the chair, Pound hitting the floor with a gentle thud as he burst into tears.
"It's not the end of Equestria darling." Mrs.Cake cooed as she scooped up her baby boy in her hooves and cradled him close.
"Pump a poopie!" The colt whined punching his small hooves towards his sister on the chair, who in return blew another raspberry.
"Honey. She's not a poopie and besides I told you not to provoke her." The blue mare sighed, mane frazzling out beyond repair.
"Poovuke?" The colt tilted his head in confusion.
"Heya Mrs.Cake!" Pinkie suddenly exploded through the front door of the store, the grown mare screaming in shock before tossing her child high in the air.
"Pound!" Mrs.Cake yelped as she shot a gaze to the ceiling, sighing in relief as she watched her baby boy fluttering in the air safely giggling.
"Pinkie. I wish you wouldn't burst in like that dear." The mare frowned to her friend who giggled sheepishly.
"Sorry ma'am. I just wanted to check in on you and the babies!" Pinkie bounced over to the chair happily, scooping up Pumpkin and tossing her up and down playfully.
The filly bursting out into giggles before the pink mare smiled and held her close in her own hooves, softly blowing a raspberry onto the babies belly gently.
Pumpkin just giggled happily and squirmed in her God Mares loving embrace. Mrs.Cake Smiling as her tired eyes glanced over to the camera on the counter.
"We're ok honey. Though I'd like to get the children to act right for a picture." Cake shook her head, sighing aloud in slight defeat.
"Ooooo! Pictures who for!?" Pinkie smiled happily as her large blue eyes widened like two large moons.
"Is it for a card!?"
"Well..."
"Is it for a baby contest, off in a far away land!?"
"Ummm..."
"Oooo! Oooo! Is it for creepy pictures to hang in the stairway!" Pinkie placed down the baby and began bouncing up and down wildly.
"Creepy pictures?"
"Yeah! I totally did that once with my sisters, Maud and Limestone's pictures still scare the coats off my friends!" Pinkie burst out into giggles in front of the kids, who followed her lead.
"As odd as that sounds. No I just wanted a family picture." Cake smiled half-heartedly to her guest.
"Oh! let me guess. These sweeties act like sour patch ponies on camera?" Pinkie rolled her eyes softly.
"Yes. We've been practicing all day and not one came out with smiling babies." Cake bit her lower lip softly as the pink mare walked over and smiled.
"I can totally help you there. I know how to make these ponies smile like mane-iacs!" Pinkie winked playfully.
"I don't need mane-iac smiles. Sweet smiles will do just fine." The mother mare added in a soft calm tone, willing to try anything to get her children to act right.
"Gotcha! I'll tone it down to eleven then." Pinkie let a squee escape her lips.
"Mmmhmmm." Cake hummed softly allowing a small drop of sweat to ride down her forehead.
"Are you sure this is no trouble Pinkie?" Mr.Cake asked as he stood next to his family in front of the store worried.
"None at all! I just need to set the camera to auto-shoot and rush over to my props in under ten seconds to get those perfect smiles!" Pinkie spoke in deep thought, tongue hanging out of the side of her mouth.
Mrs.Cake frowned a bit in worry as well, watching the pink mare limber up before looking to a large chest of Celestia knows what at the side. Her babies whining at their hooves, already starting to become fussy.
"Ok! In three!" Pinkie screamed out loudly.
"This is a bad idea..." Mr.Cake whispered behind a smile.
"One!"
"I know. But have faith." Mrs.Cake spoke behind her smile, in a hushed tone.
"Two!"
"That chest is huge! What could she pull out of it in under ten seconds?" Mr.Cake whispered roughly, in growing worry.
His wife rolling her eyes softly, her hoof swiftly swiping him in the ribs. The stallion wincing and hushing up.
"Three!" Pinkie screamed out as she pounced away from the camera, galloping at top speed towards her chest of goodies.
The seconds counted down rapidly. The pink mare only a blur as she tried to skid to a stop in front of her chest, only to crash into it wildly and fly forward like a thunderbolt.
She would fling far across the Main Street and take out a few booths along the way, crashing into a frightened Applejack and a cart full of apples for sale.
But as many apples rolled down the street into the horizon, at least she did do as she promised the Cake Family.
And got the children to smile.
