Apple Jumpscare

It has been a very busy week for Applejack as she was doing her daily chores. She's been painting the barn of Sweet Apple Acres in the red coat of paint, she's been selling hay stacks to the Ponyville market, and bucking apples from trees. She's been sweating her flank off throughout her whole week of chores. She puts her two front hooves to her back and pressed her back, cracking her spine and fixing her normal position. Then, she flops onto the couch to catch her breath. "Oh gosh.", she moaned. "I really need to get a massage when I go to the spa tomorrow. It's already Summer vacation for Apple Bloom, but I have to waist it all Summer long doing chores for the farm. Well, I don't want Granny Smith to be disappointed in me."

She hears the door being opened by a small filly in the color of yellow as a golden delicious apple and pebbles of a sunflower, her mane is almost the same color as her bow, but darkish red. It was Apple Bloom. She was finished with her week of school, she had to do finals for an Equestrian History test, she's been studying all week. Now, she can finally relax and enjoy her break with her big sister. "Hey, Applejack.", she greeted joyfully. "I can see you're doing the same thing as always after doing chores, laying down on the couch and taking a break."

"Thanks for pointing that out, Apple Bloom, but you didn't have to do that so much.", Applejack said. "You know I always do this."

"Well, now that I'm done studying on Equestrian History, doing the finals, and finishing up my last week, I can finally spend some time with you all Summer.", Apple Bloom said. "We can go to the beach or go to the park, or maybe go to a carnival."

"Well, I wish I can do that, Apple Bloom, but I'm afraid that won't happen.", Applejack said.

"Huh? What do you mean that won't happen?", Apple Bloom asked with a shocked look on her face. "We spend a lot of time together, Applejack. It's our Summer break. Why can't you just cut the chores off for a bit?"

"Because, it's important for me to do chores.", Applejack said. "And cutting them off won't get them done completely."

"Applejack, you've done chores enough for the whole week.", Apple Bloom said. "I think it's about time you quit doing that for a while."

Applejack was shocked. "Quit?!", she shouted. "Oh, freak you, Apple Bloom! You are the worst little sister! I'm going outside to rake some leaves." She turned her back on her sister and walked out the door.

Apple Bloom stomped on the wooden floor with anger. "I cannot believe this!", she shouted. "I can't believe she talked to me like that. She completely turned her back on me and rejected my request to spend time with her." She was so frustrated and angry of the insult Applejack called her. She looked out the window and saw her sister raking the leaves.

"This job doesn't tire me out.", Applejack said, proudly.

"There's got to be a way for me to get Applejack to spend time with me.", Apple Boom thought. "But, how?" She thought for a moment, then she thought of a brilliant idea. She sneaked outside, she hid behind objects so Applejack doesn't see her. She quickly hid under the pile of leaves that Applejack raked and was done with.

Applejack put down the rake for a rest. She heard a growl underneath the leaves that she raked. She got so nervous. She slowly walked toward the leaves and tried to be brave. "Are you varmint?", she asked. "I've got two back hooves that can buck something and I'm not afraid to use them."

Apple Bloom jumped out of the leaves, roaring and scaring her sister.

Applejack screamed as her little sister landed on her. "Goodness gracious, Apple Bloom!", she said. "You jump scared the hay out of me!"

"That's right.", Apple Bloom said. She was sitting on her big sister's waist with her hooves to her belly, pinning her down. "And you deserved that."

"What?! Me?! What did I do to deserve this?!", Applejack asked, looking all surprised.

Apple Bloom got off her big sister. "You were being mean to me.", she said, accusing her sister.

"Why would you think I was being mean to you when I told you the chores are important to me?!", Applejack asked.

"You were like you don't even know me anymore.", Apple Bloom said, sadly. "You called me the worst sister ever."

Applejack felt bad. "I did say that, did I?", she asked. She got up on her hooves and prepared herself to apologize. "Alright. Alright, Apple Bloom, I will spend time with you for the Summer. I'm sorry of how I treated you, little sister. Will you accept my apology? Do you still love me?"

Apple Bloom smiled. "Of course I forgive you, I do love you more than apples.", she said.

With tears in Applejack's eyes, she wrapped her hooves around her little sister for a hug. "Thank you, Apple Bloom, I love you too.", she said. She broke from her embrace and wiped a tear from her eye. "How about we go to the park?"

"That sounds like a good idea.", Apple Bloom said. "At least, we don't need to have Big Mac or Granny Smith intruding us."

Applejack chuckled. “Yeah, that is true.”, she said. “They’re not home right now, so we can go do whatever we want until the sun goes down. Then, I’d have to carry you on my back while we head home.”

“Well, Applejack, I’m a little too big for you to carry me home.”, Apple Bloom said. “So, can you not do that? I don’t want to crush you or tumble onto you.”

Applejack laughed. “Now, little sister, I’m just teasing you for fun.”, she said, stroking the underside of Apple Bloom’s chin.

Apple Bloom laughed as her big sister’s hoof tickled her chin. “Alight, Applejack.”, she giggled. “Lets go.”
