Sapphire's Story

Doctor "No, no it's all wrong"

The agitated doctor stares down at the blue prints for his latest model for a robotic pony. It's design is functional but it cannot complete the complex tasks he needs it to complete. The pony is no better then any other design he has made. He needs a robot that can also think independently while also being as quick to process as a computer to react accordingly to every situation it would be put into.

Then it hits him "I GOT IT!"

He swipes everything off his table and lays the blueprints of his last model down and makes a few changes to the head. He made the robot a mare unicorn.

"What better way to make it better then to have it learn from experience. Life will be its teacher. Pain will be its discipline for failure."

He immediately starts building the robot from the failures and uses advanced sensor technology to build its processors. Months and months of adjusting and calibrating the targeting, movements, and thought processors he eventually succeeds in perfecting the pony. Though he did his best to make the pony look realistic he had to leave the left foreleg exposed for maximum effort to cause the pony harm when teaching and so the pony can use its maximum strength with at least one leg. The right eye was also constantly exposed for optimal targeting systems. He figured that he would teach it to pass these features off as prosthetics in public. Even the anatomy was similar to a real pony, its internal wiring were like nerves that even simulated true nerves allowing the robot to feel. The cranial processor was powerful like a brain and super computer combined. The doctor was honestly really proud of what he created. Though the powering system WAS indeed all electric but to charge it took 10 hours to charge which was trouble if the pony was caught while charging but some liberties had to be taken. There were a few 'extra' features that he added just in case but they were more for reasons to make the pony seem more realistic. The robot can run up to 36 hours on a full charge. Magic collecting and usage is different, the robot can collect magic in a special battery and it takes no power to store or use magic, but collecting magic is a long process where the robot basically enters a meditation type trance.

"Ok now time to power up" he flips a switch and closes the panel and moves back. The eyes light up and the pony opens its eyes. It looks around taking in its surroundings.

It speaks in a slightly high pitch feminine voice "where am I?"

Doctor grins "finally it seems to be working"

The robot turns to him but cant see him clearly since he is wearing a mask "who are you and why are you wearing a mask?"

Doctor "I am your creator. You will refer to me as Doctor or Master. The mask is to stop you from knowing who I truly am. You are created for completing an task I give you. I dubbed you 'Project Sapphire' and thus your name is Sapphire."

Robot "My name is Sapphire. You are Doctor or Master. My processors indicate Master is a name used for a slave, this feels demeaning so I shall call you Doctor."

Doctor "Very good you caught on very quickly. We have some tests to run to see how well your systems are calibrated.'

Sapphire "Yes Doctor."
