The Unicorn and the Pegasus

Back story

Narrator: Once upon a time there lived a poor family in Ponyville. They were poor but still lived happily, because they had their two twin fillies which they loved. They were twins that were born with rare eye colors. One a unicorn mare named Rosetta and the other a pegasus colt named Thunderscore. These twins were always spending time with each other and they lived happily together. Then One day when Equestria was under attacked, their small house was destroyed, and their mother and father had to flee somewhere else; And so the mother and father took the twins to Canterlot to explain to Princess Celestia and Princess Luna about their situation. Worried that the family would not be able to afford to take care of both of the foals with the bits they currently have, they came to a conclusion that they would separate the two twins. Their mother the unicorn would take Rosetta and stay with the Princesses in the castle to Study Magic as Celestia's student, and Thunderscore would stay in Cloudsdale with his father the pegasus, in a newly built home. They also casted a spell onto both of the twins so that neither of them would remember that they even had a twin. Years go by and both of the twins were all grown up, and although they both had it good, both of the twins felt like they were missing something from their lives, and were unhappy. Although Rosetta was studying magic with Celestia and getting special treatment she was distracted. She always looked outside her window during her lessons to see the pegasi that play there every week. Although she can fly using her magic she has always dreamed of flying with wings and the wind in her mane. Even if they didn't remember each other they still knew that something was missing from their lives. As for Thunderscore, even though he could fly and he was the best in his class, he still wanted one thing: To be able to use magic and have a horn. At school he would often get bullied for wanting to be a unicorn when he was a pegasus. Sometimes when he was feeling sad he would visit Ponyville to see all of the unicorns using magic; and this is where the story begins....

Classroom in Couldsdale

Pegasus Teacher: "Alright, class let's not get too excited now"

Thunderscore: " Wow! I can't believe it!! We get to go to Canterlot to study how magic works and for a history lesson about Equestria. I am so excited!

Bully 1: " Hey Thunderscore he was talking to you!"

Class: " Hahahahah"

Bully 2: "Yeah, horn boy! Hahahah"

After school

Thunderscore on his way home from school

Instead of using his wings to fly, he walks home on his hoofs. The bullies trip him and he falls.

Bully 1: "What's the rush? Want to get home quickly so you can tell your dad about how you get to go to Canterlot to study magic and equestrian history. Hah!

Bully 2: (mimicking Thunderscore) Oh look at me I'm Thunderscore. I'm a Pegasus pony who's always dreamed of using magic.

Bully 1: "(Mimicking Thunderscores dad) "What do you want to be when you grow up son?"

Bully 2:  "I wanna be a Unicorn!"

Both of the bullies: (Holding in laughter then bursts out laughing because they can't contain it.) "Pfttt.....Bwahahahahaahahah!!!

Thunderscore starts to cry and continues to walk home with his head down.

Gets home late at night, at his house.

Father: " Oh, there you are Thunderscore! I was wondering where you were. How come your home so late?

Thunderscore: "Sigh no reason... (pause and sits down at the table for supper.) "Um...dad? Have you ever had a crazy dream where ponies made fun of you for it?

Father: " Well, ever since i was a filly i have always dreamed of being in the Wonderbolts, but i was a terrible flyer. Everypony made fun of me, because i was bad at flying yet i wanted to be apart of the best flyers in Equestria. Later i realized that they were all right about how silly it was. But that's ok because i am happy about where i am right now. Why?"

Thunderscore: " (Hesitant) Oh... um well you see...... i have this dream that ponies keep making fun of me for it, but i really want it to happen and i have been dreaming of it my entire life!!!

Father: " Oh, well what is this dream of yours?

Thunderscore: " My dream is to....become a unicorn! (serious)

Father: (Takes some time to process it then....) "Hahahaha... oh my you're not serious are you?

Thunderscore looks sad, head down

Father: "Oh... so you are serious?... oh Thunderscore you can't become a unicorn you're a Pegasus! Haha and you should be proud to be one!!

Thunderscore: " I know but i really want to. I feel like if i become one i'll find what i am looking for or missing from my life.

Father: "tsk tsk... oh Thunderscore.. there's nothing missing from your life! Everything you could ever need or want is all right here in Cloudsdale as a Pegasus!

Thunderscore: "But- (gets interrupted by father who is about to sing a song.)

Life here in Cloudsdale is nothing to regret.

There's nothing here that you can't do when you're a Pegasus.

You can walk on clouds, and fly anywhere you want!

How could you wish to give this life up?

Unicorns can not fly or do things like us

All they do is use their silly magic, it's not that interesting

It's not something a Pegasus should seek out

Trust me son, i know that you're not missing out

Thunderscore: "But- (gets interrupted by father again.)

Father: "Haha oh Thunderscore your life is wonderful! You should be happy!"

Thunderscore: (Says under his breath) "i'm not happy- (gets interrupted again.)

Father: "YOU'RE NOT HAPPY!? How could you not be happy with this life?"

Thunderscore: "Are you happy dad?"

Father: "Of course! Why wouldn't I be?"

Race your friends, control the weather!

Here in Cloudsdale, it's so much better

Don't need magic in your life, when you can fly in the sky.

Be apart of your kind. Soon you'll find

that this is how your suppose to live your life.

Don't need to feel like somethings missing.

Forget your worries and soon you'll see

it's better being a Pegasus like you and me!!!!

Canterlot in the Celestia's student study room with Rosetta

Rosetta: "Sigh...." (looking out the window)

Unicorn Teacher: "Rosetta please stop looking out the window and concentrate on your studies."

(Rosetta keeps looking out the window)

Unicorn Teacher: " Sigh... why do you always do this to me?

Rosetta: "Oh...sorry Mrs. StoneSpark. I was just looking at the pegasi flying in the sky....again....

Unicorn Teacher: "Why do you concentrate on what you can't do instead of what you can do? You're a unicorn, and you are studying in Celestia's school of gifted unicorns! You should be happy as to who you are!

Rosetta: "Well....this unicorn is not and would rather be able to fly with the other Pegasi. It must be magical to be able to do that. (in a daze of awe)

Unicorn Teacher: "But Rosetta, you can fly with your magic remember? Sigh...How many times do i have to tell you. Focus on what's important. Not some silly dream that can't and will never come true."

Rosetta: (Gets angry) " You don't know if it will or will not come true. How do you know if it won't?! How can you be so sure!?!

Unicorn Teacher: "Rosetta, i know how much you want to fly, but i'm sorry, it just can't happen. No pony has ever been born with one thing and been able to turn into another thing. It's just not possible!"

Rosetta: "But unicorns and Pegasi are able to turn into Alicorns. Alicorns exist so it is possible. We live in a world full of magic, so why can't i just use it to turn myself into a Pegasus instead?

Unicorn Teacher: "Rosetta, it doesn't work like that.

Rosetta: "But it can work like that! Why do you continue to doubt it?! To doubt my own dream!

Unicorn Teacher: "Maybe you should go home early and rest for a bit. Then maybe you'll feel better."

Rosetta: "You don't get it do you!? Nothing will make me feel better unless I can become a Pegasus! (Starts to run away with tears in her eyes)

Unicorn Teacher: "Rosetta wait!- sigh - will that unicorn ever learn?"

Rosetta: "I just know I am missing out on something, and I need to find it. I just have to! ( Runs home)

At Rosetta's house

Cherry Rose: "Oh home so soon?

Rosetta doesn't reply back

Cherry Rose: (With concern in her voice) "Rosie is everything ok?

Rosetta: "Yea mom, i just need some time to think"

Cherry Rose: "Ok, well if you need anything just let me know, ok?

(Rosetta walks upstairs into her bedroom)

Rosetta: (looking outside the window) " I wish everypony would understand how i feel.

At Thunderscores house

Thunderscore: (Sitting on bed, looking out the window) "I wish everypony wouldn't laugh at me"

(Split screen with Both Rosetta and Thunderscore looking out there window)

Both Rosetta and Thunderscore: " I wish my dream would come true"

They say that my dream is nothing but distractions.
