After being found in the Frozen North and rehabilitated to end his evil ways, King Sombra spent most of his time in the Crystal Empire struggling to coexist with the ponies he once enslaved. Due to his heinous crimes, it seemed that the only pony willing to give him a chance was Shining Armor, despite having been forced to assist him by his sister. However, the Prince and former King seem to have gotten along surprisingly well in the months since his reformation began.

Of course, if anypony were to listen in on the two during a large social happening at the Crystal Empire, they may have realized that their "friendship" was a little more taboo than originally thought. In fact, it would've been downright scandalous to discover how close the two became behind everypony's backs. Especially Cadance's.
