Coming Home To Find Something Awful

Sweetie Belle was at school finishing work for her teacher. She was glad that school was ending because she could see her sister after school. Soon school ended and she decided to play on the swings before seeing her sister as she was sure Rarity wouldn't mind if she took her time because Rarity should know that she was in a safe place.

While Sweetie Belle swung herself she thought of Rarity pushing her on the swing in a memory that she gained from a while back when she was a lot younger. She giggled as she thought that that was a fun day that they both had together. She couldn't wait to have a fun day that day as she was going to cuddle with Rarity and play games with her.

She knew that she was going to have fun with Rarity when she got home. She was so excited. She thought of Rarity anxiously waiting for her to get home and then when she gets there Rarity would just kiss her all over her face playfully. Sweetie Belle giggled.

Sweetie Belle kept swinging on the swings as she watched Cheerilee leave school for that day while some parents arrived to watch their fillies or take them home. She wondered if Rarity came but as she scanned the area Rarity was nowhere to be seen. Sweetie Belle shrugged as Rarity was probably just at home doing work.

Sweetie Belle decided she wanted to make getting off the swings fun when she got off them so she swung a bit higher and then she waited for the right moment and then she jumped off and and giggled while landing on her feet. She wished Rarity was there to see that as Rarity would have found it cute.

As she walked home she enjoyed the beautiful day that went on outside. She watched as ponies who knew her waved at her. Sweetie Belle waved back at them as she couldn't be any happier than she was that day. She felt like nothing could ruin her day and she knew her day would be even better when she got to hang out with the best sister in Equestria which was Rarity.

She decided to stop along the way to buy a few snacks and eat them while she walked to Carousal Boutique. She took her time as she looked at all the different vendors selling items and material along the way to her sisters place. She hoped that Rarity was making good progress on her dresses.

Sweetie Belle stopped and decided to get a treat for Rarity so she got a muffin from Derpy. She couldn't wait to give this muffin to her sister. She hoped that the muffin would make Rarity happy. It would make her day if she received a muffin from Sweetie Belle.

She continued on her walk to Carousal Boutique. She got closer to her place and she couldn't contain her excitement. When she opens that door Rarity was going to greet her and hug her. She could just see it now. It will be so worth all the stuff that she had to do that day.

She tried to remain calm but was to excited. She stopped at the door and picked up the mail that Derpy delivered to Rarity's place and opened the door and then she walked into her place with Rarity's mail. She didn't see Rarity waiting for her in the main room.

"Rarity I'm home!" She called out. She thought of the possibility that Rarity was probably just up upstairs sleeping or reading a book so she waited for her sister to come downstairs as she didn't want to bother Rarity. As she waited for Rarity she set her stuff down and ate a snack. As she ate a snack she waited for Rarity to get up and see her.

She finished her snack and waited at the table. She started to color in a coloring book so she wouldn't get bored. She colored several pages and decided to save one with a heart for her sister. She colored a heart and wrote that she loved Rarity at the top and then she ripped it out to show to Rarity once she came down.

She giggled. She thought that it was silly but she knew it would be sweet and she was sure her sister would like her drawing she made for her. She colored a few more pages to keep herself occupied while she wondered about what her sister would make for her for dinner.

As she waited she got bored. She wondered what was taking Rarity so long. She shrugged it off though as Rarity was either concentrating really hard on making a dress perfect, she was taking a nap, or she had went out somewhere with her friends and would be back later.

As she continued to wait she used up the rest of her coloring book since Rarity was taking so long. As Sweetie Belle thought of this fact she grew worried for Rarity. The coloring book was very long and Rarity should have been down before she had finished the coloring book but she didn't.

Sweetie Belle thought about it but decided that she could wait a bit more even if it was unusual for Rarity to stay in her workshop that long or sleep that long for that matter. So she waited. As she waited she grew hungry so she decided that she would have to go to Rarity to get something to eat.

As she walked to Rarity's dress workshop she found that Rarity wasn't there. She decided that Rarity might be in her bedroom. She went to her bedroom and saw that Rarity wasn't here either. She looked at the bathroom. She knocked but nobody answered.

She wondered if Rarity had gone out some where with her friends and would be back later so she waited a bit more as that might be the case. Though she wondered why the door was closed to the bathroom. Soon she had to use it so she went up and came to the bathroom. That's when she opened the door and what she saw devastated her.

Rarity was laying in the bathtub with blood pooling out of her head and a gun laying outside of it. Sweetie Belle couldn't say anything. Sweetie Belle's lips trembled as she walked over to where her sister was. She didn't know what to do. Tears started to form in her eyes. She laid down while she started to beg.

"No...no...." She said. She looked at Rarity and then she pulled Rarity into her embrace and wailed. She touched Rarity's head and blood from Rarity's head pooled onto Sweetie Belle's hand. She let out a bloodcurdling cry of despair. Blood leaked out of Rarity's head and her hair was soaked in her own blood.

She rocked back and forth as she held Rarity's body and cried. Her sister was dead. The sister that she loved had killed herself. She was so heartbroken. She knew that she had to tell her friends and the emergency number. She didn't want to let go of Rarity's body though.

She continued to cry while holding the body of her dead sister.

She decided to finally let go and then called the ambulance and explained everything. Sweetie Belle washed Rarity's blood off her hands and the ambulance came. The paramedics came and she explained that she was holding her sister when she found her. They understood and took Rarity's body. They brought the body to the hospital and established that Rarity had committed suicide. They wrote a letter to Celestia, Rarity's friends and Rarity's parents.

They found a letter that was written by Rarity explaining why she had killed herself. She had killed herself because she was depressed for feeling greedy and feeling like she wasn't paying enough attention to her sister . This made Rarity's friends sad because Rarity never asked for help for her problems. It was to late now though as their friend was gone.

Sweetie Belle's parents picked up Sweetie Belle and brought her back to their home for her to live with them. She got therapy for what she had to deal with and Rarity's friends also got therapy. They held a funeral for Rarity as people mourned her. Nothing would be the same without Rarity.
