I rushed towards the tower for my rifle and equipment, they issued an important meeting at the commander’s tent and I wanted to be sharp and ready in case this was a recon mission.

I looked up seeing the flight of stairs before letting out a sigh of annoyance.

Come on really!?

I began to climb up the stairs as quickly as possible, due to the fact that the meeting would be in a few minutes, only to start growing tired after what could be the longest flight of stairs, during my time in the military. I reached the top of the tower, gathering my equipment along side my weapons.

AG-3 with custom-made attachments of ACOG scope with a foregrip attachment, this gun saved my sorry ass plenty of times during the ops beyond the border. You couldn't ask for a better gun then this fine, sexy bitch.

I reached for my two reliable handguns, handy hardballers. These two lovely girls are practically family to me. They have been with me since the beginning and will stick by me until the end. I placed my girls into their holsters before returning attention to my equipment.

My equipment was standard issue, a few M26 grenades, flashbangs but in desperate times they can be very appropriate especially when It comes to dealing with a large group of monstrous creatures. I really wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my equipment. It seemed to all of equipment checked out, after I placed them on the proper places.

I raced down the long ass stairs, I mean what the fuck, why would I place them here above all else, it had to be here. What hell was I thinking, oh wait I was drunk as a godforsaken sailor. I'm actually surprised that I remembered that late night, It was fun for sure, but then again I had a fight with one of the private and the private gave me a real painful mark on my side. Respectfully I made him pay for that, putting him on the floor. I think his name was Ryan, Private Ryan, Dean was his name, we had a few drinks after that, he told his story and I told mine.

His story was quite interesting, when he was a kid, his mother was eaten by a ghoul, motherfucker ripped her face off and ate it. I gotta say, kinda freaky when he said it, his tone was...deadless, emotionless. I feel bad for the kid, it must be terrible to actually see your own mother being eaten by those heartless fuckers. It only make me more angry to find out that his entire family was killed by them, he won't stop until he kills every single one of them, I can hear the hatred in his voice when he said it. That's the only reason why he joined the army, to avenge his family, his kin.

I really hope he accomplish his personal goal but he's gonna have to survive boot-camp, to even get a chance to go out there, to explore deserted wasteland beyond the border. Only trained personal can be able to go out there and scavenge and maybe be able to locate survivors, if any that is.

I reached to the bottom of the tower before exiting it, the dust blew across my face as I quickly covered my eyes. The destruction of the world made it more difficult to see, in some parts of the world would have massive sandstorms for no apparent reason, some people say it's because how the nukes' radiation effected the environment but I honestly don't care about it.

I made it across the camp with little effort before entering the Com-Center where the meeting is at. I can hear the Captain's voice beyond the door, I was meet by the eyes of my fellow soldiers as I rushed to my seat but before I could sit down, the sound of the captain prevented me.

"Late again, Mills." He said roughly. "What is your excuse this time?"

"Heh, sorry capt." I apologized, chuckling slightly. "Had to get my stuff."

The Captain unaffected by this, sigh before continuing the meeting. While I sat down right next to my trusted friend, Ben. He was with me, mostly on the toughest missions, like clearing a nest of ghouls or attacking a raiders' camp. I looked at him as he was focused on the Captain's speech before looking at the Captain.

"Okay, were was I before I was rudely interrupted." He glared daggers at me, before redirection his attention to the others. "We are dealing with a possible missing report in sector 45. Pvt Lairson, Robert and Pvt Howle, Michael, was reported missing by one of their love ones, their locators disappeared included. Now our job is to locate them and bring them home, if possible. Get some sleep, your gonna need it for tomorrow."

They sound familiar, but where?

The Captain walked out of the room as the soldiers chattered about the mission as me and Ben walked back to our barracks but during the walk, he started to talk about the two missing soldiers.

"So, what do you think?" I looked at him, confusingly. "Oh come on, you gotta admit, they do sound familiar."

"Yeah, they do, but something is up about this whole thing." I looked down, full of thoughts.

Something is up, but what?

I can't really put my figure on it but somethings' wrong about this, It just a feeling but it's a strong feeling and I'm very cautious about my feelings. It's like a six sense, you just know whats' going to happen but your not sure when it's going to happen and I'm usually right about it too, it's weird but It's been helpful sometimes. It happens when something big is about to happen, but this, this is different, it's more noticeable, something big is gonna happen and I know it involves with the missing soldiers.

"What do yeah think?" He asked, folding his arms around his neck in a playful manner. "Is your six sense thing working or something."

"Yeah, but its more noticeable and you know what that means."

"Something big is coming." He answered solemnly.
