Pinkie's Party

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

It had been only a day since the inexpiable explosion Pinkie caused but Strillian decided she should be kept away from the alchemy table. Many of the Blades disagreed, thinking if she were to hone her skills she could be quite the formidable foe. Though they obeys Strillian, respecting his judgement. Strillian didn't know where she should go but if they wanted to keep their temple then alchemy wasn't the way to go.

In the mean time Pinkie had been indoors, keeping the Blades who had to fix the hole she made company.

"Wow, that sure is a blam-erific hole up there" said the pink mare said as she bounced around the room.

One of the Blades grit his teeth. Pinkie Pie had offered to help but they had turned her down for fear of having to fix a bigger hole. Though they had been working on the hole for nearly three hours and their patience were wearing thin, non would tell Pinkie to leave them alone, they knew she meant well. That still didn't stop them from being annoyed enough for it to show.

"Are you guys alright?" Pinkie asked, tilting her head to one side. "You guys look tense. OOH! Maybe we should throw a party. A party to celebrate the new part of the roof!" exclaimed the party pony.

"Actually that doesn't sound half bad, a party could be just the thing to help everyone get to know your kind a little better" said one of the Blades.

"That's great!" exclaimed Pinkie Pie. "I remember this one time when we had a party and there was a hole in the roof then. Of course that was because something totally different. It started as a normal day ..." Pinkie Pie continued to talk a mile a minute and the Blades looked at each other worriedly.

"Um, miss, perhaps this isn't a good time for a story" said one of the Blades.

"... and Rarity's cat was on the ceiling fan after that. Didn't come down for days ..."

"Miss!" the Blade said a little louder.

"... then there was that jar of mayonnaise in the wall, nopony ever found it after that, it's probably still there ..."

"Does anyone remember her name?" asked the Blade, his frustration now growing.

"Something about Pie, I think" said another Blade, sounding unsure.

"... so we got a whole cart of cabbage to fight the giant eagle with ..."

"By the Nine, make it stop!" shouted one of the guards.

"I think her name had pink in it! Pink Pie? Pinkie Pie!" yelled out one of the Blades with glee, excited he had remembered her name.

"... and now that mare doesn't see strait ..."

"Pinkie Pie!" shouted a few Blades, not in time whatsoever.

"... then the cupcake imploded, can you believe it? Just fell in on it's self ..."

"Pinkie! Pie!" bellowed one guard at the top of his lungs.

"... then the mayor told me not to come back to Baltimare, something about economic collapse. That mayor is a silly stallion ..."

"Enough!" shouted Strillian as he walked in. "Why is everybody yelling, are you trying to wake the dead?"

"... then he signed Twilight's copy of the Enchiridion, he was super nice an-" Pinkie cut off when she saw Strillian walk in. She bounced over to Strillian. "Hi there Strillian, we were just talking about a part tonight to celebrate the new roof."

"A party?" asked Strillian suspiciously.

"Yup, a party!" Pinkie said excitedly as she pulled out a party blower from seemingly nowhere and gave it a mighty blow.

"Alright then, sounds like fun" Strillian said.

Despite only having a few hours and having to set up everything mostly by herself due to everyone being busy with one thing or another, Pinkie Pie had set up a party at her usual standard. She had managed to decorate the entirety of Sky Ruler Temple. There were balloons floating at the top of the rooms, and in the mane room an assortment of baked goods covered the tables. Pinkie had also had streamers of all sorts of colors going around the entire Temple. Strillian would have asked where she obtained all of the materials, considering they didn't keep frosting, balloons, or streamers in the Temple but decided against it for fear of an answer.

Everyone had finally finished the days activities. Everyone was talking to someone and Pinkie was bouncing between about twelve different conversations, managing to not get any of the conversations even a little mixed up.

"It's amazing how much she can organize in that crazy, mixed up head of hers" said the Blade who had been trying to get Pinkie's attention earlier that day.

Pinkie was bouncing around the room, talking to everyone there and pushing strangers together. "Meet you new best friend!" she would say as she did it. If it were anyone else people might have gotten annoyed, embarrassed, or even just creeped out. But no one could be anything but happy at one of Pinkie's parties. They always tended to bring the everyone out of their shells. Well almost everyone.

Fluttershy was sitting in the corner with Rarity, hiding behind a curtain of hair.

"... and honestly darling I never considered doctor work in my life, it isn't something I exactly like either; there was a reason I didn't go to medical school. Perhaps I can talk to Strillian about this later" Rarity said, more to herself.

"Do you not like it?" Fluttershy asked quietly. She was still smiling but with all the new faces, many of which foreign to her, she couldn't help but feel a little overwhelmed.

"Oh no dear, I actually don't mind it at all. I just wish I could do more with the fashion of this place, I mean everypony is wearing the same thing here. Completely dreadful" said Rarity.

"That's 'cause they are uniforms sugar cube" Applejack said with a smile, a small laugh threatening to break through.

"Well obviously, I'm no fool Applejack. There uniforms are just so, shall I say, tacky" Rarity said, shaking her head.

Applejack started shaking her head to, but at the fashionista before her. "Well did ya'll at least have fun today?"

"Oh, yes. We learned a lot" Fluttershy said, excitement creeping into her whispering words.

"Yes, it was quite enjoyable. What about you Applejack?" Rarity asked.

"We didn't start, we all spent the day listing to proper weapon edicate so we would go hurting somepony by mistake. Though we are starting actual training tomorrow" Applejack said.

"So you didn't have fun?" Rarity asked.

"Now hold on, 'ah didn't say that. Besides 'ah can't see swinging this metal around as fun anyhow. Rainbow sure seemed annoyed at the wait though" Applejack told Rarity and Fluttershy.

"Speaking of Rainbow Dash, where did she get off to?" Fluttershy asked.

"She's over in the other room" Applejack said, pointing her hoof towards a door on the other side of the room. "Some of the Blades said something about mead."

"Mead?" asked Rarity.

suddenly the very large vase holding a potted plant next to them burst open, relieving Pinkie Pie, who yelled "It's a new kind of party drink!"

Applejack was the first to recover from the shock and said "Pinkie Pie, 'am gonna ask you something I swore to myself I would never do. But how in the hay did you get in there?"

"Oh that's easy" Pinkie Pie said as she pointed towards the ground. There was a hole in the floorboards where the pot was. "I was just trying to get over here then I accidentally hit the plant. I heard Rarity ask about mead so I figured it was the perfect time to jump out and explain everything" Pinkie finished with an ear to ear grin.

"Okay then, why where you under the floorboards?" Applejack asked.

"Cause the room was too crowded what with the party and the tables and everything and that was easier, duh" Pinkie said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

Fluttershy had fallen to the ground and was still wide eyed but her heart was slowly beginning to return to normal and she was stumbling to her feat.

"A party drink?" asked Rarity, curiosity about the drink rising.

"Sure!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, holding out a serving tray with four mugs on it. Each of the ponies took a mug and Pinkie tossed the tray over her shoulder.

Applejack looked down at the golden drink in her hooves. She brought it up to her nose to smell it. The sent of honey was very strong in the drink and Applejack could tell before it was even halfway to her nose. Deciding to run the risk of drinking distilled honey she gave the drink a large gulp.

When she lowered the drink she saw Pinkie balancing her mug, now empty, on her head. Rarity was still sniffing it before finally pulling it away and asking "is there anything else here, perhaps with less honey?"

One of the Blades overheard this and walked up and gave Rarity a bottle. It was wide and rounded at the bottom and the bottle had a very short neck. The label read "Cyrodiilic Brandy." It looked like quite an expensive bottle so Rarity though she should at least try it, if nothing else out of courtesy. Rarity said "I'll be right back" before walking away to find a glass to drink it with.

Fluttershy was looking at Applejack, waiting to see what she thought of the drink before drinking it herself.

"It ain't bad" Applejack said before taking another drink.

Fluttershy looked down at the golden mixture, sighed, then took a small drink.
