I woke to the sound of distant gunfire . I then slowly got up once I fully stood I opened my eyes. My vision was blurred for a couple of seconds. Then looked to my right to see the crashed helicopter. It was still on fire which meant that I was not out for long I looked up at the sky to see it still dark.

I then remembered everything leading up to this point. The attack on Canterlot the destruction of Canterlot castle and the crash. "Oh shit," I limped my way to the crash site. "Please let them not be dead for the love of God please let them still be alive." I then tried to run the rest of the way but I ended up falling down face first on the ground.

Then when I looked up I saw movement at the end of the helicopter. Then next thing I saw come out of the smoke of the helicopter was Applejack and Rainbow Dash. On their backs was Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie. "But where is Starlight?" I then got back up from the ground and looked at my leg.

There was a piece of shrapnel in my leg the armor around it was broken. Luckily it's not too far in but still enough for me to feel pain. Ignoring the pain I walked up to Rainbow Dash and Applejack. They did not see me at first but when they did they tensed up. But once they saw my face they relaxed.

Applejack looked up at me she had a large cut going from her forehead to her cheek. Her hat was also missing and her blonde hair was all messed up. "Well nice of you to join us. Me and Dash can handle carrying these lot. But we don't have room to carry Starlight she just behind the end of this here thing."

But before she could continue I held up a hand and pointed in the direction of Ponyville. "Head to Ponyville my men should be there and should be starting to set up defenses. Find a medic or doctor to patch you guy's up. Then wait for me at town square." Applejack then nodded her head and Rainbow Dash did to then started to walk in the direction of where Ponyville is.

Once they passed me I looked at Rainbow Dash she shade a burn on one of her legs. It doesn't look too bad but if not treated it could get worse. I looked back in front of me and started to limp my way to the other side of the crashed helicopter. Once on the other side I started to look for Starlight. Then a spike of pain went up my leg.

I looked down at my leg the shrapnel was even more deeper inside my leg now. "I have to get this shrapnel out of my leg now." I looked around for a stick or something luckily when I looked down I saw a stick near my feet. I picked up the stick and put it in my mouth. I then took hold of the shrapnel and started to pull.

The stick in my mouth muffled my yells of pain. I then stopped pulling slowly and took a deep breath. And then yanked the piece of metal out of my leg. Once out my regeneration power took into effect. "Well at least that is done time to find Starlight."

I then scanned the area of this side of the crash site until my eyes landed on a wounded Starlight. I ran up to her and knelt down. One of her legs was burned. And one of her back legs was bent at a wrong angle. She then opened her eyes.

I did not give her a chance to speak I lifted her up and put her on my back. I held her front four legs over my shoulders. And put her head on my left shoulder. I then started to run in the direction of where Applejack and Rainbow Dash went. Once we were out of the crash site and onto the field I stopped running and looked around looking for Rainbow Dash and Applejack.

That's when I heard a sharp inhale and a small kick on one of my legs. "Sorry that I couldn't have gotten the shield at full strength. I couldn't protect my friend's at all. Please tell me that they are not dead." Before she could continue she took in another deep breath.

I then nudged her head with mine. "There not dead they're just somewhat injured and are heading to Ponyville as we speak. So no you did not fail you save all our lives. So don't start to get all sad on me." With that she started to calm down.

Then I spotted a sign post I walked up to it. It had two arrows one pointed back to where we were and said "Canterlot,". The other one said "Ponyville," and pointed north and from what I saw was a dirt road. I started to walk down it. About I would say five minutes in walking on the road and I spotted Applejack and the other's but they were all walking together.

I jogged up to them I could not sprint because of Starlight on my back. I was close to the group of ponies but then I stepped on a branch which alerted them that I was behind them. They all turned around and all looked ready to attack me. Twilight charged up her horn but then noticed that it was just me and Starlight and canceled her spell. The group relaxed and stopped walking.

I soon cached up to them and stopped in front of them. Twilight then pointed a hoof at me. "Sweet Celestia you almost scared us to death there Logan. We thought you were an enemy soldier from the armor you are wearing." Then she looked at Starlight. "Is she going to be okay?"

"She is going to need a doctor for her back two legs but she can not walk on her legs. So that is why I am carrying her."

Applejack then got into the conversation. "Is it okay for me to carry her on my back."

"Yes it should be fine." And with that I walked over to Applejack and put Starlight on her back. But before I could have continued I heard distant marching and the sound of tanks. "Everyone get in the tall grass now." Everyone got in the grass but Rarity hesitated just for a second but then got into the tall grass.

Once we were all inside and crouched low to the ground I looked at my friends behind me. "No one make a sound understood." Everyone nodded their heads. Then the sound of the tanks got closer and closer until they appeared. There was at least fifteenth tanks total some king tiger's others Panthers and some Jagdpanzer 38(t) also known as the hetzer. Also some Churchill tanks. As well as a Valentine Mark three tank.

After the tanks came the infantry about four hundred in total as my helmet scanners tell me. Some of them was waffen SS, American rangers, British commandos, Russian guard infantry, and some imperial army Japanese infantry. After they passed by I looked at Rainbow Dash. "How long is it from here to Ponyville."

Rainbow Dash responded quickly to my question. "It should be a day or two away on foot. But by how fast they are going I would say they would reach Ponyville in two days at most. But if we cut through this field we should reach Ponyville in about ten hours. Or we could just teleport are way there."

Twilight then face hoofed. "How could I have forgotten about teleportation. Okay everypony stand near me." After that fact everyone or everypony as I should say stood next or near Twilight. She charged up her horn and then there was a white flash that blinded me.

I opened my eyes to see that we were in Ponyville. And that there was at least five hundred or more of my men pointing weapons at us. Once they realized who we were they stopped aiming their weapons at us. A captain stepped out of the crowd. He had the usual armor that captains wear it is a dark blue knight's armor that is double layered steel for protection.

And our army's emblem on his shoulder which is a shield with two swords going through it. He walked up to us and saluted. "Sir we have set up defenses all across town and the castle is well protected. We have set up three lines of defense. The first line of defense is trenches with heavy AT guns with machine gun nests all across the trenches. Also on the hilltop overlooking the the town to provide fire support against their tanks."

He took in a breath and continued. "For the second line of defense it would be close courtiers combat. And for the last line of defense it will be at the base of the hilltop with some trenches and machine gun nests. Overall we have nineteen thousand men to hold the enemy back for four days. Celestia and Luna's guard will be helping us at the second and last line of defense. The guard's numbers are six hundred also sir reinforcements won't arrive until the end of the fourth day."

I patted him on the shoulder. "Good work captain but could you please send a doctor over here and help with my friends wounds. Also we spotted a small army heading our way and trust me there will be more than just four hundred. So get ready there army's will arrive within two days."

After I was done talking with the captain a group of pony doctors came out of the crowd and escorted my friends to the hospital. Then the large crowd started to disperse and head in different directions or formed into groups and started to go on patrol. I started to walk around town walk was an understatement since it was so crowded with refugees from Canterlot. Also it was crowded with soldiers and pony guard's. I found the HQ which was in town hall.

Two of my elite units also known as paladins opened the double doors to town hall. I walked in and took off my helmet I looked around town hall. It was being barricaded and beds were being set up. Guns, swords, spears, ammo, and shields were set up on the sides of the walls. And right in the middle of the town hall was a table with the map of equestria. And studying the map was Butler.

I walked up to the table and tapped him on the shoulder. He looked back and the look on his face was relief that I was still alive. "Well sir you always show up late don't you. Never mind once your black hawk was shot down we were going to pick you up but there was too many Germans were shooting anti air guns at us. You were lucky that they did not go to the crash site and search for survivors."

Then he pointed at Ponyville. "Sir if we lose Ponyville then we lose Equestria. Because Ponyville is right in the middle of Equestria. If they take it they can attack other cities and settlements all across Equestria. So we have to defend it at all costs."

I then pointed at different areas that they could attack from. "Luckily we have every entrance covered but the most vital entrance to not lose is the front entrance into Ponyville. But luckily we have enough men to last some time to hold back the enemy forces. And Butler I am going to hospital to see how my friends are doing. Can you hold down the fort from here?"

Butler nodded that's all the clarification I need. I then walked away from the table and out of town hall. I then soon made it too the hospital which took forever because of a squad of tanks taking forever to move to the first line of defense. I soon entered the hospital and the first smell that hit my nose was blood I looked around to see that there was wounded everywhere. Mostly ponies but also some of my men.

Three young ponies were carrying buckets of water to doctors and nurses. I walked to the front desk to see a nurse with a red cross as a cutie mark. She then looked up at me. "Yes what do you want. Are you here to see a patient."

"Actually I am here to see seven. The mane six and Starlight Glimmer."

"They should be on the second floor room 240."

"Thank you"

"Welcome"

And with that I left the front desk and ran up the stairs to the second level. Luckily room 240 was the first room on the second floor. I opened the door and walked inside. All seven of them were on gurneys and asleep. I found a couch and on it was some pillows and a blanket.

I walked to the couch and lay down on it and took off my armor. Luckily none of my clothes took damage except for my leg. I then covered myself with the blanket and rested my head on the pillow. "This is probably going to be the last time I get a good night's rest. Goodnight my friends see you all in the morning."

Well this took some time to write but in the end it was well worth it. Man I wish someone would draw fan art of this but this story is not exactly popular but if you do I will give you a shout out at the end of my chapter's well see you all in the next chapter.
