Chapters Blindfolded, I awoke to the sound of footsteps. “Who are y-!?” I was interrupted as a club like object hit me in the face.
“I'll ask the questions her you little piece of-!”
“Shining Armor, calm yourself.” Shining Armor? What kind of name is that? is his armor shiny?
“Yes your highness.” Highness? Oh crap, i hope i wasn't captured by a cult.
“Now, tell me what you are...”
“Daddy please don’t let go!”
“No no no no NO! KATE!!”
“DADDY!”
“I tried so hard to save our little girl. I’m sorry.”
“YOUR’E THE REASON SHE’S DEAD!!”
“Dan.”
“Dan!”
“DAN!”
“What?!” I said waking up to see my friend, Pvt. Michael Abbot shaking me.
“Captain Matthews is asking for you. He told me to quote on quote wake his lazy ass up, I have a special assignment for him.” said Michael, backing away from my bed.
“What time is it?” I asked, slowly raising from my bunk, rubbing my eyes wondering why the hell the CPT. would want to see me, especially at this hour.
“Hey Dan, uh are you alright? before I woke you, you kept saying no over and over again. You sleeping alright, man?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.” I answer, slightly annoyed at his curiosity. “Did he tell you why he wants to see me?”
“No he didn’t.“ You never could count on Michael to listen. I always had to save his ass in basic.
“When did he want me to be there.” I ask, sitting up in bed.
“0500.”
I looked at my clock reading 0445. Suddenly a jolt of adrenaline shot through my body as I realized how fucked I was gonna be if I was late. He may send me out on patrol in my Drawers. Or worse, he may send me out to clean the Latrines. If the thought of shoveling excrement didn’t get me out of bed fast enough, I didn't know what would. “Get out and let me get dressed man.”
“Hurry up or Matthews is gonna be pissed.” He said, slowly closing my door behind him.
“Yeah, no shit.” I said, pulling on my uniform as fast as I could.
Earth: Fallujah, Iraq 2013
“Almost there.” I told myself as I was jogging to the HQ Tent. I jogged past a few broken down humvees, one completely missing the front left wheel well. Thank god I wasn't on that patrol. They got hit pretty hard and lost three good men.
Nearing the tent, I looked at my watch and saw it was about to change to 0500, I sprinted as hard as I could and burst through the tent flaps almost running over the CPT. himself. “Jesus Daniel, you would think that after i told Private Abbot an hour ago to get you, that you would at least be able to get here on time.” The Cpt. said, walking over to his desk with a cup of coffee in hand.
“Sorry Captain, the messenger was a little slow.” I said throwing up a Salute. That sly mother-
“At ease, Armstrong. I’m assuming you have heard of those attacks on our patrols?” He said, laying his coffee down and pulling a file out of his desk and laying it out on top.
“Yes sir.” Of course I had, who hadn’t. We had lost nearly 20 guys in 2 weeks thanks to those bastards.
“We have intel that says that the insurgents have a huge weapons cache that is fueling their attacks.”
“Do we know where it is?” I asked, picking up the file, opening it to see pictures of the surrounding area, marked with enemy positions and a few possible locations for hideouts.
“Not an exact location, no,” He said, standing up from behind his desk. “But we think it’s near Baghdad. we believe they are using some old caves in order to store supplies and carry out attacks.” He pulled out and lit a cigarette. “I want you and your team to go there and find it. You and your men are to deploy at 0600 tomorrow. Do you understand?”
“Yes. permission to speak freely sir?” I stood their wondering why he needed me to do this assignment.
“Granted.”
“Why do you want me to go, there are plenty of other soldiers out there who could go and find this cache.”
“With your... past,” Why did he bring that up? “and with your experience. we thought that this would be a good test to see if you can rank up.”
With that, all curiosity left my mind. If I get ranked up from First Sergeant to Master Gunnery Sergeant, then I’ll have a lot more responsibilities and a few more perks. “Yes Captain!”
“Dismissed.” He said throwing up a salute.
Walking out with a grin as big as the sun. “Hell, if getting promoted means that i have to put my life on the line, then so be it. I could use the pay raise.” I then left to get my squad ready for our assignment.
Equestria: Canterlot, 1 day before royal wedding.
“Your Highness what do you mean something is wrong with the mirror?” Said Shining Armor, rubbing his temple.
“Shining Armor, I know that you are stressed with the wedding and now that your sister Twilight has made a scene, this isn't helping your migraines.” She said with a sympathetic look. “But I need you to pay close attention to this mirror.” motioning over to the mirror next to her. “It started flashing and moving round 7 days ago.”
“Your highness I assure you that this mirror will not cause any problems in the future, this is a magic mirror, yes?”
“Yes, I am sure that you are right.” She said covering the mirror with a sheet.
“Now if it were alright with you, I would like to go back on Patrol. I also have to think about finding a new best mare.” He said backing up slowly.
“Everything will be alright Shining Armor. I will deal with other matters, like the threats of war.” The threats from Queen Chrysalis couldn’t be coming at a worse time.
“Yes and I will focus on keeping my spell up for as long as i can.” Said Shining as he touched his horn.
“Resume your duties Shining Armor.”
“Yes Princess.” said Shining leaving.
Earth: Iraq, just outside of Baghdad 2013
I sat there in the humvee with my M4, safety on thinking to myself. I always had to mentally prepare myself for these kinds of assignments. I never knew whether I would make it back to base or not. My mind suddenly flashed back to the broken down humvee. Thinking back to when I lost my daughter. It was that Fucking truck. I knew i shouldn’t have driven on that bridge especially on New Years Eve. All those drunk people all over the road.
“Hey.” Said Michael, grabbing my shoulder. “You aright, you got that distant look in your eyes again.”
“Yes.” Obviously annoyed. “Stop asking me that.”
He pulled his hands and put them up in such a way as to show me he was backing off. “Sorry, man”
“It’s alright, I just-” BOOM
“RPG!” said one of my men as one of our humvees was hit.
We had gotten close to the caves and must have been spotted.
“Everybody out!” I yelled, as gunfire rang out all around us.
“Michael, on me!” I said, turning off my safety and motioning for Michael to follow me. “Tangos to our right, engage.”
“Jesus, they have a Technical!” Said one of my men before he was torn in half by the gun on top of the truck.
“Fuck!” Michael and I started running to flank that gun before it took out more of our troops. I saw the gun truck and tossed a grenade in to the back of it. the resulting blast sent the MG operator flying out of the truck and onto the hood. “Take that fucker!”
“Michael, go get the laser designator and mark these fuckers!” I said, unloading round after round into the group of insurgents coming our way.
“Yes sir!” Michael was never too smart but when it came to combat, he was a madman. he ran to the humvee and got in.
“RPG!!” BOOM
The humvee that Michael had gotten into exploded in a ball of fire. I stopped firing and stared in disbelief at the wreck that now sat in place of our humvee.
“MICHAEL!!” I said turning back and running back to the humvee. Hoping that he would be fine, that the armor on our humvees had protected him. BOOM
The Humvee exploded in a ball of fire, all bullet proof windows were blown out as I got knocked onto my back. I lay there dazed and confused. Why was I here? Had i really seen my best friend die? These thoughts flew through my mind.
“Sarge.”
I snapped out of my daze and got up, picking up my M4 and brushing it off. “Grab the rest of our men and head into those caves, I’ll check out that one. We meet back here in 10 minutes!” Brushing off my vest. “If i’m not here by that time, Retreat and I’ll find my own way back.” He nodded and motioned for the rest of our guys to go with him into the caves. I grabbed a few extra mags from one of the humvees and headed into the other cave.
I entered and saw no one. My gun raised, I slowly continued through the cave coming to a stone door. I sat my backpack down and grabbed a pack of explosive and set it on the door. I exited the cave and detonated the charges, the blast sent a shock wave through the cave and out that sent a shot of adrenaline through my body. I reentered the cave only to be dumbfounded at what i found. A single mirror. Everything was covered in dust, signifying that no one had been there in a long time. “I need to get back to my troops.” A rumbling noise made me turn around and see that the cave had come down, blocking my only exit. “Goddammit!” I looked at the pile of rubble where my exit was. I ran over and started trying to dig my way out.
“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” I picked up rock after rock, boulder after boulder. But I couldn’t get out. Almost to the point of setting one of my C4 packs on the rubble, I heard a pulsating buzz behind me.
“What in the world?” I turned back to the mirror to see it start glowing. I slowly walked over and looked at the sides. I saw unintelligible scribbling and some small pictures of two horses revolving around a picture of the sun and moon. I touched the engravings and the mirror began to glow. I tried to pull my hand away, but it was like my hand was stuck. “What the hell, let go” The glowing became a blinding light, then dissipated into a whirling vortex, sucking me through the mirror.
Equestria: Canterlot, Day of wedding.
“Princess Celestia!” Said Twilight as she ran over to her fallen teacher.
“I see that I have now grown even stronger than Celestia!” Just then the protection spell broke and Changelings spun around the city picking their prey off one by one. The Changelings grew in speed until they had a sickly green glow around them. They then started falling out of the sky and crashing into the buildings and frightened citizens below.

Just then, I heard what I could only describe as Helicopters over head flying by. I felt relief, thinking that one of my men had called for reinforcements and that it was a squad of UH60 choppers coming. Just then I heard it stop, and then Hundreds of tiny explosions that shook the ground. I grabbed my M4 off the ground and ran to the door. “Where am I?”
I looked around and saw a big white hallway with large windows that let light flood through, wait wasn’t i just in a cave? I had to find some answer. I put a full mag in my rifle and cocked it. “Time to get some answers”
I went outside and saw complete destruction. There were Horses all over the ground and I heard footsteps. I ran to an alleyway and hid behind a trashcan. “I have to find out what is going on here, and where are all the people?”
I heard growling behind me and expected a dog. After some of the shit I’d seen during my many tours to Iraq, nothing could prepare me for what I saw behind me. It was some sort of animal that had Blue eyes and fangs and had wings like the kind you would see on a bug. it had one horn that was stained red with what I imagined was blood.
“Holy sh-!” was all I got out before the thing rammed me to the ground. It tried biting me through my armor but couldn’t. In the commotion, my M4 was knocked away from me and was just out of reach. The beast then pulled it’s head up and I swear I saw it’s horn light up, turning a sickly green. Thinking fast, I pulled my M9 Beretta out of its holster and put three rounds in the beasts chest. It had a look of surprise as it fell off of me. I looked at it seeing fear in it’s eyes. I popped a round in it’s skull for good measure. I walked over and picked up my M4 when a small group of those things turned the corner. I aimed my rifle and dispatched one, then two, then three. My mag empty, the fourth creature shot something out of it’s horn that missed me, hitting the wall leaving a scorch mark. I saw an opportunity and grabbed my knife and tackled it to the ground and stabbed it repeatedly.
The thing started screaming at me and I swear that it told me to stop. I slit its throat and fell back against the wall, catching my breath. I stared in disbelief at what i had just seen. “Fuck this shit, I need to get out of here.”
“Look there’s more this way” That sounded like an American soldier.
“I thought I told you no lethal force” Lethal force? Maybe I was saved. Maybe I could get back to base and try and explain to Captain Matthews what the hell just happened.
Glad to hear American voices, I turned the corner. “Boy am I glad to see you- What the Fu-” I was hit in the face by what I thought was a small horse. I was knocked out immediately.
Equestria: Canterlot Main Hall, day of wedding.
“Captain Shining Armor.” Said an eager Guards pony.
“Yes Private?”
“We have a Problem.”
“What kind of problem?” Said Shining Armor, raising a brow.
“We found another one of Queen Chrysalis’s Spies.”
“A spy?” Shining Armor now facing the guards pony.
“Yes sir.”
“What kind of pony were they trying to imitate, we will need to notify the family of their loss.”
“That’s the thing sir, It’s not a pony.”
“What is it then?” Asked Shining Armor with a curious look on his face.
“That’s just it sir.” The guards pony now with a nervous look on his face. “We don’t know what it is.”
“Notify the princess and show me this creature.” Shining Armor showing interest, followed the guards pony.

“Now, tell me what you are” My eyes were blinded by a yellow glow and the blindfold was lifted off my face. I blinked a few times to get used to the light. What I saw caused my heart to drop faster than my credit score. Standing in front of me were two horses, one larger than the other. Both with a single horn on their heads. “What the hell?”
“The princess asked you a question!” said the smaller one approaching me.
“Shining Armor” Said the larger one in a motherly tone. “Calm down and let me handle this.” The larger one leaned down and brought it’s face close to mine. “Now, tell me what you are.”
I sat there dumbfounded, realizing that it just asked me a question, I answered. “I’m... a human.” I sat there waiting for her to say something. She got up and told the smaller one something, and then she left.
“I am going to stay here and interrogate you.” said the smaller horse. I sat there still dazed, trying to put together what was happening. “If you try anything, I have been given clearance to kill you, so lets start with my first question. What is your name?”
“First Sergeant Daniel Armstrong Codenamed “ARES” with the USMC.” I answered hoping that I could find a way to get out of here.
“Ah, a part of some sort of Military.” He said, puzzled. “And what does USMC stand for?” He said his horn glowing a light shade of blue.
“United States Marine Corps., look I don’t know what is happe-” SLAP
“You will only speak when say it is alright, got it!” Son of a bitch, that hurt. I nodded up and down. Just then, the taller one came bursting in. “Shining Armor, stop the interrogation!” He nodded and stepped away from me.
“You are a human, correct?” I simply nodded.
“Shining Armor, untie him.”
“Yes princess.” His horn started glowing a bright blue, causing the ropes tied around my arms and legs to glow bright blue. They loosened within seconds.
“If you are a human, than you should not be affected by pony magic.” Pony magic? Not affected? “Shining Armor, use a sparring spell on him, if he is a changeling then he will change back, but if not then he may be able to help us.” Help them? wait, did she say sparring spell. the thought chilled me. I was then hit by a bright blue aura of energy. It knocked me back into a bookshelf, I lay there for a second. Then I got up and flipped the one known as Shining Armor the bird.
“He’s human” Your goddamn fuckin right I am.
“Listen human, we need your help."
“Why should I help you?” I was pissed. “You knock me out then hit me and interrogate me and then use some type of blue shit to shoot me into a fucking bookcase!” I’m still pissed and Shining Armor is standing in front of the bigger pony now. “Why should I help you?”
“Because we can get you back to your home.”

My First Chapter

I've been in this room for little over half an hour now. After the interrogation, they re-blindfolded me and led me here. The room is extremely large with a single door on each side and a table in the middle containing all of my gear that I arrived here with. I walked to my gear to check that it was all still there. Yup, It was all there, thank god they had no idea what kind of ordinance I had with me. There came a stern voice over head. "Listen up, Human" he said it with such distaste that I found my self gripping my rifle even tighter with each word. "We are going to test you to see exactly what you can do. On each wall is a door. These doors will open and a group of changelings will come out and attack you. A changeling is a creature that can take the form of any pony or animal, they have blue eyes and bug like wings." Those sounded a lot like what I faced in the alley way. Now I know why they gave me my gear, they aren't just interested in me, they're interested in seeing what these do also. "We explained to the changelings that if they were able to kill you, they could be set free. If not, then they die."
"Oh fuck you! You expect me to fight a group of these things? I barely lasted against five of them!" I knew that if cornered, a wounded animal will fight back.
"Silence!" The sound made my ears ring. "If you live, then maybe you can help us and in return, we can help you." I stayed silent. The doors opened and a single changeling came out of each door. They approached slowly, fangs bared. They surrounded me and started walking circles around me, looking for a weakness. then they pounced all at once. I took aim and blew one out of the air and blew off one of the others legs. Blood and tissue stained the wall behind it. The last two came up behind and tackled me knocking away my rifle. I then pulled my pistol out but one of the changelings bit my wrist and around the gun. "Aww fuck!" The changelings teeth sank into my wrist. The other one tried biting at my neck, but I punched it in the muzzle and it flew back a few feet. I grabbed my knife with my other hand and stabbed the beast in the neck, blood squirting on my face. The creature let out a scream, letting go of my arm as blood shot out of it's mouth. I pulled my knife out and thrust it into it's chest and it fell down, dead.
I got back up and saw the last changeling getting ready to attack. It jumped and I managed to catch it by it's neck. It let out a surprised gasp as i squeezed it's neck hearing the audible crack and popping noises of it's trachea being crushed. I let out a final grunt before I stabbed it in the side of the head, it's eyes rolling up into the back of it's head, jaw opening. I threw it to the ground with a loud thud. "Is that all?" I was tired and angry.
"No." said the voice
"What do you mean "no"!?" I was getting pissed off now. I had done everything they had asked of me, I had killed the changelings. I had shown them what my gear could do. what more could they need?
"There is still one more changeling alive." I heard grunting behind me. I looked back and saw the a changeling on the floor missing one leg and it's wings looked as if they had been crushed. It was trying to crawl away.
"Please, no." The thing pleaded with me. "I don't want to die." It tried getting up but collapsed.
"Kill it." The voice said it so calmly that even I was thrown off guard.
"No." I had killed wounded people before, but this was crazy. The people I killed never showed fear, never backed down. But this thing was trying to get away from me. Tears were falling down it's face, staining the floor. It was acting like I was the monster. "I won't kill it. It's wounded and trying to get away from me."
"Please don't kill me. I beg of you." The changeling stopped crawling and looked up at me.
"You will kill it or we will kill you." I had to consider my options. Either kill it, or we kill you. "Your choice."
"Fine, I'll do it." I didn't want to die, but I knew that if I didn't do it, then they would. There was no way out for the changeling.
"No no no, please." It started crawling away at a faster pace now. I started walking towards it. I looked at it as it tried getting away from me. Tears streaming down it's face, it tried to get away. I reached the changeling and grabbed it's hind leg, pulling it upside down. "NO! LET GO!" It started trying to kick at me.
"I'm sorry." Was all i muttered before I raised my knife and shoved it into the changelings stomach. The changeling screamed as I ran my knife down all the way to its chest. I saw the life drain from it's eyes and dropped it. Organs falling onto the floor as it hit the ground. I looked away in disgust. I puked all over the floor when I looked back down to see my handiwork. "Jesus Christ." I dropped my knife and fell to my knees.
"That wasn't so hard, now, was it?" Why does the voice have to be so condescending? one of the doors opened to show a small horse with silver armor on it's body. "Come, Princess Celestia is awaiting your arrival." That must be the name of the bigger horse I saw earlier.
I'm brought through these massive doors to a grand hall with two thrones at the end. The big horse is sitting on one of the thrones.
"I'm glad to see that you survived that little test." She showed no emotion in her voice.
"Little test? You mean that shit show that I just went through." I felt something against my neck. I looked down to see a tiny guard horse holding a spear against my jugular.
"I understand that you are shocked and angry right now, but we had to see exactly what humans are capable of. We had to see if you are up for the task."
"The task of what?" I wanted to know why I was so important that I needed to be used for this task. "Why am I so important."
"I have a pupil named Twilight Sparkle, she is in the small town of Ponyville. She has been sent there to make friends with some of the civilians down there." Why was she telling me about this? "My pupil has been able to fight off evil after evil that has attacked that town."
"Then why do you need me? If she is so good at keeping that town safe, then why me?" I needed some answers fast because I was about to snatch that spear out of the air and use it.
"While my pupil is great, she is not ready for the other types of assignments I have." What other assignments could there possibly be?
"These these are the type of assignments that require a little bit more...force than friendship."

Second Chapter
Chapter 3 The Mission Part 1: The KKEP
Equestria: Canterlot Castle, two weeks after arrival.
Since I've been here, I've learned many things about this world. Their leader is named Princess Celestia, and she has a sister named Princess Luna. This world is a lot like earth, It has different countries and some of the countries closely resemble the countries back on earth. Equestria is obviously America. Yakyakistan is Afghanistan. Griffin Kingdom is based on Europe. The Dragon Homelands are China. And the Changeling Kingdom is a lot like Russia. I also found out that Equestrians hate being called horses. They prefer to be called ponies. I've also been studying the elements of harmony, the elements have attached themselves to these six ponies named: Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Fluttershy.
Princess Celestia gave me my mission about a week ago and is giving me time to plan and prepare. There are three major hate groups in Equestria, The KKU, The KKP, and the KKEP. All have sent threats to the Princess on account of her preaching unity between the three main races in Equestria. The KKU stands for Ku Klux Unicorns, the KKP stands for Ku Klux Pegasi, and the KKEP stands for Ku Klux Earth Ponies. The KKEP is the biggest and baddest of all the groups. They are based out of The Everfree Forest, one of the worst places in Equestria. They are dug in so well that all of the troops that have been sent there have either never made it to the compound or made it out. They hope that because of my skill, i'll be able to get through the forest and make it to the compound. There were other compounds outside of the Everfree Forest before I got here but Captain Shining armor were able to take them out and despite it being the last compound, they still have a alot of influence on the towns around the Everfree forest, Including Ponyville. Iv'e heard rumors of burning suns being put in front of Fluttershy's house along with signs that say 'Go Back To Cloudsdale, WingTard!!', and that some of her animals were cut up and sent to her. This is by far the worst case of racism I have ever seen. I am to be dropped 1 click east of the compound. My objective is to go in silently and set charges at three certain buildings, If I'm spotted, I am to get out of there ASAP. If I don't survive, then I never existed and this Op was never conceived. I am going in under my previous Callsign ''ARES". After the charges go off, I am to fall back into the forest and If resistance is seen, then I have been told take out all tangos. I also voiced my concerns about ammo and that I would be running out of it soon. She told me that she would work on a solution and that she needed to borrow one of my magazines. I still haven't gotten it back.
Equestria: Flying over Everfree Forest, 2 days after briefing.
"ARES!" Said one of the Pegasi assigned to drop me off at the LZ. "5 Minutes till drop!"
"Copy that! You ever done one of these missions before?" We were flying through the air at high speeds. I had done this before but I was always on the inside of the Helicopter. This was terrifying me, I guess no one ever thought about creating safety belts.
"No, this is my first Op!" Oh great, they gave me an FNG. I hate it when they give the Fucking New Guy the important Ops. They almost never survive.
"You have to be kidding me! Did they tell you what you were getting into?" He started flying lower signifying that we were getting close.
"No! I was just told to get you there! 30 seconds to drop." I picked up my pack and grabbed the silencer out of it, and screwed it onto my M4. A red light on the dashboard of the chariot turned green. "Green Light! GO GO GO!"
I rappelled down the rope and hit the ground. I looked up to see him fly away, I watched him go the way towards the compound, He was going the wrong way. I saw a flash and he dropped out of the sky. I saw him detach and try and fly away. he was caught by a net. I realized he must have survived the fall. I had to go after him. This mission had just escalated into a rescue mission. I raised my rifle and began my long trek through the forest.
Equestria: Everfree Forest, one hour after drop.
I could see the lights of the compound through the trees. I looked around and saw ponies wearing white sheets over their bodies. God, they even dress like the KKK. I saw the Pegasi pony that crashed. They began beating him mercilessly, blood falling from his mouth. They then tied him to a wooden structure that looked like the sun and gathered around it. I had seen this before, where they tie a person to a cross and set it on fire and dance around it. I saw a pony with a torch approach the wood pile. I knew I had to act fast, to hell with stealth. If I waited any longer he would be burned alive.
I aimed down my scope and proceeded to count the amount of tangos that were down there. I counted five, then twelve, then twenty-six. There were 26 of these bastards and possibly more inside the buildings. The torch pony stopped, turned, and proceeded to give a speech to his men.
"My fellow earth ponies, we have had nothing but trouble from these goddamned Pegasi and Unicorns. The Unicorns with there 'fancy' magic and now the Pegasi with there 'unholy' wings. We don't want these kind in our towns, we don't want them in our country." Said the pony with the torch, his words causing my blood to boil.
"Stop this!" Said the wounded guards pony, his voice muffled because of his swollen mouth. "Why must you hate us? We did nothing to deserve this!" Blood flying from his mouth, he continued. "Princess Celestia has brought us peace becau-"
"Shut the fuck up you miserable mistake!" said the torch wielding pony as he smacked him across the face. "You Pegasi are unnatural, with your wings and hollow bones! You make us look bad." Spat the pony, punching the Pegasus again. "And don't you dare mention that WHORE Princess's name in our presence!" He slowly raised the torch above his head. "Through this action tonight, we make the world safer for all of Earth Pony ki-"
He dropped to the ground, blood and brain matter flying from his head onto his fellow earth ponies. The Earth Ponies stood in shock of what they had just seen. "What the Hell?!" The tied up pegasus closed his eyes as to not see any more deaths. Soon, more ponies began to drop as they heard little whizzing noises around them. "Where is it coming from!" before they knew it, 6 of them were down. The other ponies began ringing alarms around the compound. "Find that fucker!" They started running around trying to find whatever was taking down there comrades.
I stayed in the treeline keeping watch over the pegasus, making sure none of those bigots tried to kill him while searching for me. Some of them tried to reach him, knives drawn but met an untimely death at the hands of a Marine with a Silenced M4. I killed around 12 of them before they finally saw me. "There it is!" screamed one pony. "I see him!" Screamed another.
I ran down the hill firing shots at the ponies. I got to one of the buildings when a pony hit me from behind. I was knocked to the ground. I had my M4 in my right hand and blew the pony out of the air as it jumped at me. I began working my way to the burn pit where the Pegasus was. I reloaded my M4 and kept shooting tangos until there were just 5 left. I looked down to see my M4 empty and the enemy quickly advancing. I pulled out my M9 and dispatched 3 of the ponies. They fell into lifeless lumps on the ground. The other 2 came from both sides and jumped at me. I caught them with both hands and smashed their heads together. they fell to the ground slowly getting back up before I shot one with the last round in my M9. I pulled out my Knife and grabbed the other one by the Mane and pulled it's head up, Slitting it's throat. It's eyes looking at me with pain and regret. I felt no remorse for these bigots.
"Hey, hey are you alright?" I said tapping the pegasus on the head with my hand.
"Is it over?" he asked slowly opening his eyes, his eyes opening widely as he saw the dead ponies on the ground. "What did you do to them?" He asked in horror and disgust. "We aren't supposed to kill anypony, just stun them and arrest them."
"They really didn't tell you the reason I was here, did they?" I looked at him, his eyes showing true fear. "I was sent to wipe this place clean off the map. I was sent to kill everypony here!" I was yelling now. "Don't you remember how they were going to burn you? They were going to kill you! I knew there was a reason they didn't tell you!"
"I'm sorry. Please, just... just get me out of he-" His body slumped over. Blood falling out of his mouth.
"Hey kid. Kid!" Oh shit, I couldn't stand the thought of another one my men dying. I untied and picked him up, setting him down on a table and checked his pulse. Still there, he was going to be fine but I had to get out of there. Despite the circumstances. I still had a job to do. I grabbed the charges out of my pack and set them at the Predetermined locations. I then ran back, picked up the dying pegasus and made my way out of the compound. I waited until we were a good ways away when I triggered the charges. I looked back to see a huge explosion, followed by smoke. I hoisted the pegasus onto my back and made the 4 mile trek out of the forest.
I exited the forest only to be greeted by Celestia along with two guards. "I see you made it back in one piece."
"I see your still here sipping tea with your guards." I said laying the pegasus on the ground, checking his pulse only to see that it had gotten a lot weaker than before. "Quick, someone bring me a medic!"
"Do not worry, Daniel" Her horn lit up and a pale yellow hue wrapped itself around the dying pegasus. He was lifted up and was completely covered in blinding light before being slowly brought back down. Her horn slowly died down and I looked in amazement at the feat. I had just seen. She had magically healed him in seconds.
"How did you do that?" I asked staring in awe of what I had just seen.
"A simple healing spell." She said with a smile on her face. "It can heal almost any wound but there are things it can't do." her smile slowly fading. "It can't heal diseases like cancer and other ailments. Those are spells that not even I can do. It also can't heal you because of you being from a different world."
Well shit. one stab with a knife and I'm out of commission for good. "Is there a way that we can use magic on me?"
She looked at me with a puzzled look on her face. "Possibly, but you wouldn't like it."

My Third Chapter
Chapter 3 The Mission Part 2: The KKU
Equestria: Canterlot, 1 week after take down of KKEP
I awoke to the sound of an explosion and immediate screams. I ran to the window to see what was going on outside and saw pegasi flying over head throwing molotovs at the castle and around canterlot. After my Op with that young pegasi, we hadn't seen much activity. We thought that they had been scared off. They must see this as an opportunity to show their power. I suited up and grabbed my rifle and loaded the new magazine that Celestia had given me. It was now blue and had a picture of the moon on it instead of it's normal black color. My rifle immediately started glowing and changed colors. It was now a mix of purple and blue with a few stars shown on the stock and sight. I looked in awe as it changed, this must have been a gift from the princess of the night.
BOOM
No time to stare, I had to go down and defend the citizens. I was curious what my M4 could do now. I ran down the stairs and out the big wooden doors to the throne room. I saw ponies running and screaming. Guards ponies began ushering ponies inside. I ran around a corner and saw a Pony with a pink coat and blue mane on fire trying to put herself out, her screams drowning out my thoughts, i ran to her and tried to pat her down.
"OH MY CELESTIA, PLEASE HELP ME!!!!" Her screams were making my ears hurt. The smell of burnt flesh and burning hair stung in my nostrils. I saw a bucket of water nearby and dowsed her with it, The flames left her now blackened fur I held her head up trying to comfort her.
"Your'e going to be ok." I looked down at her, her eyes looking up into mine.
"P-please find my d-daughter and *Cough*." blood flew from her mouth and onto my hand. "Tell h-her I l-love her."
"I will, whats her name?" I looked into her eyes, they were a stunning lavender.
"Her name is S-Sco*Cough*" She coughed more blood onto my hand. "Scoot...aloo..." she stopped breathing in my arms and I gently laid her head back down and using my fingers, I gently closed both of her eyes.
"I'm sorry." I got up and looked around to see ponies still running around. I stared in disbelief at a pony who was missing his front left leg. His white coat was stained with blood and his red mane was all messed up. He was walking calmly and looked down to see his leg. He picked it up in his mouth and began walking around again before he was crushed by a falling piece of the tower. I grabbed a guards pony and pulled him close to me, his eyes showing confusion and fear. "Get the wounded inside and shut the door!" He nodded and gathered more of his soldiers.
"Get the wounded inside and shut the door!" Once he and his soldiers got everybody inside, I began to make my way down town. I ran past building after building, most with their windows blown out and some burning to the ground. I turned down an alley way and came out to see a five pegasi punching and kicking an older unicorn. I was about to stop them when I heard a small voice. "Hey, st-stop that!"
I looked to see where the voice was coming from and saw a small pegasus. Her mane was purple and her coat was orange. she stood with confidence even though her voice didn't show it. The five older pegasi stopped beating the older unicorn and focused on the small pegasus before them.
"What the fuck did you just say?" There leader slowly started walking towards her holding a knife in his hoof.
"St-stop hitting her, she didn't do anything wrong why are you doing this?" She stepped back, her confidence leaving her.
He pounced on her. "You dare to defend this filth, when we, your very own kind are trying to help you?" He pulled her by her wings and threw her against wall. "OOF!" He approached her low to the ground.
"You know boys, I always did like them young." His face stretched wide into a grin. His buddies then formed behind him smiles growing on their faces. The little pegasus filly looked at them with horror as she slowly got up. She tried to run, her pursuers giving chase. she started flapping her wings, lifting off the ground about a foot before falling back down to the ground. "No, get away from me!" She was tackled to the ground and her face was forced into the ground by the leader. "I'm gonna enjoy this."
BANG
He fell down off the pegasus filly, blood flying from head. His buddies looked my way, surprise clearly shown on their faces. The muzzle flash from my M4 was no longer a bright yellowish white, but was now a bluish purple hue. I had no time to think about that. "You ponies are sick fucks!" I slowly approached them. "You attack a town and beat up old ponies, and then you try and rape a young filly?! Who the fuck does that?!" I strapped my M4 to my back and pulled out my knife, I was going to enjoy every cut I gave these sick bastards.
"Get him!" The pegasi rushed me, and pounced. I grabbed one of the pegasi by the wing and immediately snapped one of his wings. I smiled as he screamed. I threw him to the ground as another one came at me. This time i just thrust my knife into it's forehead. He didn't make a sound as he fell to the floor. The last two got a flying start and hit me, knocking me to the ground. I grabbed for the nearest thing to me, which was a the leg of the pegasus who's wing i broke. he let out a surprised gasp as I brought him up and swung. -CRACK- I saw the pegasi I hit fly into some boxes. I dropped him and grabbed my pistol, grabbed the last pegasus by the throat and unloaded five rounds into it's abdomen, slowly shooting up it's body till the last round went through it's head and into the wall behind it. I holstered my gun and grabbed my knife and walked over to the boxes and pulled up the still stunned pegasi and slit it's throat. I then walked over to the pegasus I used to swing. I him by his good wing and told him a message.
"Tell your 'friends' that ARES is coming for them." I then threw him to the ground. he got up and ran a way. I turned back to the pegasus filly. her head still in the ground. She slowly looked me, her purple eyes looking into mine. I saw fear turn to relief. I leaned down and slowly picked her up, my arms wrapping around her body. "My name is Daniel Armstrong, I'm here to get you to safety" She shoved her muzzle into my chest. "Thank you for saving me." I was taken aback. I thought back to when I was back with my daughter, Kate.
Earth: Colorado, 2003
I'm back at my home in Colorado, I just got back from my second tour in Iraq. I ran to my wife and embraced her. My daughter came running out of the door. "Daddy!" I ran to her and picked her up, tears streaming down my face. She stuck her face into my chest and started crying.
"It's alright, daddy's here." A tear ran down my cheek. I had been doing nothing but getting shot at and the stress was starting to take it's toll. I looked at a picture of my daughter every chance I got.
Equestria: Canterlot, End of KKP attack.
"Mr."
"I'm sorry, where is your family?" I looked into her eyes tears streaming down her face as I said that.
"I-I-I don't know, there was an explosion and I got separated from them. Can you help me find them?" I looked down and nodded. "What do they look like?"
"My mother has a pink coat and a blue mane and my father has a white coat and a red mane." I stood there in shock. I had seen them before. I had been with the mother when she died, and I had seen the father get crushed under a falling piece of tower. How was I going to tell a young filly that her parents died right in front of me? I had to find out if this was her daughter.
"Whats your name?" My chest was starting to hurt.
"My n-name?" I nodded "My name is S-scootaloo"
I looked at her and a small tear fell down my face. She saw my facial expression accompanied by the tear now coming down my face that I knew something that she didn't. "You know what happened, don't you?" I looked at her, another tear streaming down my face. "DON'T YOU?" She was yelling now, tears streaming down her face as she pushed herself away from my chest.
"I'm sorry, there was nothing I could do." I fell to my knees still holding her. She pulled her face into my shoulder, her sobs rang in my ears as her tears stained my jacket. I held her there for who knows how long we were there. Her sobs slowly died down to whimpers as she lay there in my arms. After a little while longer, her whimpers stopped and I looked down to see her in my arms, sleeping. I slowly got up and walked to the nearest guard outpost and handed her to one of the guards. she stirred when I gave her to the guard and let out a tiny whimper "Daniel..." I looked at her, trying to keep the tears from coming down my face, I grabbed my new rifle off my back and headed to the throne room.
Equestria: Canterlot, 1 week after attack by KKP
Fucking Bullshit were my exact words when Celestia told me that we were not going after the KKP next. I tried to convince her but she said that there was no way to get me up to the clouds without a spell and that since I am a human, I can't do the mission. Like I said, it was a load of Fucking Bullshit.
My next Mission is to attack the HQ of the KKU (Ku Klux Unicorns). I was to be transported via wagon to the known as Winsome Falls, a beautiful location containing waterfalls using real rainbows (or spectra) that used to be used for camping and date nights, but is now an HQ used by the KKU. They forced all the campers out and built a base there. They use the Spectra to make a new drug known as Sparkling Chroma (Chroma being a synonym for color). The drug is known for it's multiple colors and the fact that when opened the drug will appear to glow or 'sparkle'. The drug causes an extreme sense of euphoria. The users eyes will start to change different colors. If overused the, the user will go into cardiac arrest and in some cases, the heart will actually explode. effects usually take place after one minute and will last from four hours to nine hours.
Celestia has given me a headset with a mind sensor in it as to see where I am and to see what I am doing. My link will also be with a pegasus that will fly up above and act like a radar. The pegasus watching over me is none other than the same pegasus whom I save three weeks ago. I have learned that his name is actually Pvt. Mic Cobalt. I have gone over the plan twice with him as to make sure that he does not make the same mistake twice. I was also ordered that if possible, that I am to rescue a team of unicorns that were sent on a covert mission to join the gang and get info. They may not even be alive any more.
I am to be driven in a black wagon accompanied by two unicorns. They will drop me off 1 click away from the compound. I have been warned that there are patrols out there that will shoot magic signal flares if an intruder is detected. Once I am at the compound, I have been given four charges to set in four specific locations. One in the main building, one in the wagon depot, two in the Chroma factory, and I was given a last one to use to create a diversion to lure them to the other side of the compound. Once mission is done, if survivors are found, their safety is my number one priority. If no survivors are found then I am to eliminate every unicorn on sight. I have been warned that while magic does not affect me, objects can still hurt me. once mission is over, i will proceed to EXFIL point and get the hell outta dodge.
Celestia has informed me that the magazine that she gave me can now transform my gun, any gun I can think of, it will change to. I can change it from an M4 to an M82A1 to an M249 SAW. I was advised that the gun self loads it self, but takes about five seconds every time. The attachments even change as I see fit. Celestia had a gun range built for me to test out my new gun. I have to say that I am very impressed with it's performance. I will be looking forward to testing it out tomorrow on the KKU.
Equestria: One click North of Winsome falls, 0300.
"Hey you ready?" I heard the Pegasus through the headset.
"I should be asking you that question."
"Hey hey now, I spent all of last night studying the mission layout." I rolled my eyes, fucking amateur.
"Hey, watch the language, you don't have to speak for me to hear you, remember?" Oh yeah, so what if I think of some hot chicks getting it on in a bed.
"Oh dear Celestia stop it, that's gross." I started laughing out loud. "Haha, well then try to ignore it, because all that goes through my mind are naked women and vulgar humor."
I sensed him rolling his eyes. He reminded me of Michael, the way he used to roll his eyes at my stupid jokes. "Who's Micheal?"
"He was an old friend of mine, I saw him die. Actually, he died the day I came here."
"How did he die?" You only need to look in my head to know what happened.
"Oh my Celestia, I'm sorry about that." Yeah me too. "Hey, we are almost there, tell the unicorns to stop right here."
"Hey guys, stop right here and let me off." I got out of the wagon and looked at the unicorns. "Hide the wagon and wait for me here this is the Exfil point."They nodded and I cocked my gun began my trek through the terrain. "Alright Mic, you are my eye in the sky, DON'T get me killed out here." He chuckled
"Don't worry, I got you."
Thirty minutes later
"Hold up, I see three tangos fifty yards out."
'Copy that, am I clear to engage?' I thought, not being able to speak in caution of being heard.
"ARES, you are clear to engage." I imagined my gun turning into a silenced M24 sniper rifle, I aimed through the scope and waited for one of the targets to walk behind the other one. As luck would have it, one of them did and I fired.
TCHH
I saw the round impact the first pony, his head exploding in to a fountain of red, and the one behind being flung backwords. The other one was caught by surprise and stood there for a second before his horn lit up a sickly orange color. I had to react fast before he sent up a flare. I aimed and fired.
TCHH
This time I aimed a little too high. His horn was ripped off and he fell to the ground. Blood shooting out of where his horn used to be, he started screaming reaching at his head trying to find his horn. I aimed again, this time a little lower.
TCHH
I saw his head explode into a red mist, bits of skull and brain tissue flying through the air. It was strangely satisfying to see that my bullet had hit it's mark.
"Tango down, good work. Proceed" I got back up and my rifle turned back into an M4. I was starting to get used to having to adjust my hands every time my gun changed. I proceeded forward until I heard Mic on the other side.
"Get down, I see a large group of Tangos coming your way"
'How many?' I was getting a little worried that I would be seen by the large group of unicorns.
"I see 20 maybe 25 coming your way."
'Permission to engage?' The thought of an M240 LMG coming to my mind, it would be easy to dispatch them with over 200 rounds of lead.
"Negative, do not engage unless engaged."
'I hope you know what you are doing kid.' I was still unsure of his ability to keep me from getting spotted.
"I do, lay down and put your head to the dirt and they won't see you."
'I really hope you know what you are doing.' I laid on top of my gun and put my face to the dirt to camouflage my head. I heard the group approach. I heard hundreds of little footsteps around me. I was able to hear a few of their conversations. A few of them were talking about a big batch of Sparkling Chroma being sent out of the compound and others were talking about how they were gonna get high as fuck tonight. I heard one mention that they had found some spies in their ranks, my ears perked up to this, they said that after they found them, they ended up sending out a ransom, but it never got paid so they slit the spies throats. Shit, no survivors.
"Alright you can bring your head up now." I slowly raised my face from the dirt and rolled off my gun. "Proceed."
I got up and started walking towards the compound, I could see the big stone walls. On each wall was a sentry, my rifle turned back into an M24, I went prone and looked through the sight. I spotted four sentries, and two guards outside the front gates. I Looked at the sentries and targeted the one on my side.
TCHH
I hit his neck and his head got separated from his body. It rolled off of the platform and outside of the wall, luckily where no one would see it, I then aimed at the next sentry.
TCHH
My shot, narrowly missing him 'Shit.'
He must have heard the sound because he started looking around. I then aimed again and fired.
TCHH
This time I hit him in the chest. he was thrown off the platform and onto the ground behind some boxes. I looked around and saw that no one noticed him hit the ground. Relief flowed through my body as I dispatched the last two sentries.
I then saw the guards walk back through the front gate. I started my way towards the wall and pressed my back up against it. It was about twenty feet high, small enough for me to throw a grappling hook up there and climb up. I pulled out my grappling hook and swung. It latched up on to a bar.
'Any one notice that?'
"No you are fine, besides it looks like most of their forces are outside right now."
I climbed up and over the wall. The compound was enourmous. It was more heavily fortified and had many more buildings then the KKEP compound, My information may have been bad.
'Permission to engage?'I was ready to take these ponies down.
"Engage." I aimed through the sight and fired at the unicorns. They didn't even know I was up here, thanks to my silencer. My weapon turned into an M4 and I jumped on top of one of the buildings. I ran to the side and opened fire

Pony after pony dropped, they were trying to figure out what was happening but they never noticed the marine on top of the command HQ. I fired my last round and waited five seconds. My gun vibrated, signaling that it was ready and I cocked it. I decided to take the silencer off and go in loud. I attached the rope to a metal bar and rappelled down, crashing through a window
"What the hell!" said one pony as I flew into the room.
I aimed and fired at the many unlucky unicorns now in front of my fire.
"Everypony, get down!"
TATATATATATATATAT
Pony after pony dropped. Blood flew onto the wall and ceiling as the unicorns fell to my fire.

I reloaded, enough time for the unicorns to think they could rush me. I cocked my gun and began to rain hell on them again.
TATATATATATATAT
I ran outside and to the next building and repeated the same process. I decided to use the Mossberg 590A1 on the last few buildings.
BOOM-click click BOOM-click click BOOM.
One of the unicorns snapped out of it his shock and ran outside, and I immediately gave chase. He got outside and fired off a flare before he was blown in half by my shotgun. His body flew, organs and blood flying every where. I looked up to see the flare, and my excitement went to Oh Shit.
"Remember that large group of tangos we saw earlier? They are on their way back, this time with reinforcements. Set those charges and get outta there."
"Copy that" After all that, I was allowed to talk again. I immediately ran to each building and set my charges. The last two charges were set up at the factory. I I passed barrel after barrel of that Sparkling Chroma Shit. What they said was true, it realy did change color, even in it's powdered form. I set them up and set the timer for three minutes. I ran outside and got to the wall and climbed up, my gun turned into an M240. I set up the bipod and sat there for a few seconds.
"ARES, I count thirty- no forty- Fifty. Fifty Tangos coming over the hill."
I pulled the slide back on my gun and let it rock back, I was ready to do this.
"I see them, I'm gonna wait for them to get a little closer." Sure enough, they were coming up over the hill, man these things were fast, I had never seen them move like that. I opened fire.
DADADADADADADADADADAD
Round after round hit the unicorns, some went flying back words and some were cut in half. I saw a few heads explode into a thick red paste. I was so involved in the gore that I never one of the unicorns get through the gate.

I watched the last Unicorn drop to the ground and looked to see my belt was empty, I watched as the latch opened itself up and another belt flew out of the box and attached itself, the latch then closed and the gun vibrated. I pulled the slide and it rocked back into place.
I heard footsteps behind me and turned around only to see a knife flying through the air. I wasn't able to dodge it and it stuck in my side.
SCHLILICHHH
I screamed in pain as the Unicorn bucked me in the face, sending me and my gun flying over the side of the wall. I hit the ground with a loud thud.
"ARES!" my sight fading, I saw a speck flying through the air, it changed course and started flying down at a great speed.
I watched as the unicorn who stabbed me jumped down. His horn lit up, the knife in my left abdomen glowing. It was then ripped out in a slicing motion which only made the wound bigger, blood flew from my wound. I looked back up to see the knife hit me again, this time in the chest. I screamed and grabbed the knife to try and stop it from being ripped out again. His horn lit up again and the knife was torn from my chest blood flying from the wound. I fell backwards, blood falling from my mouth. I looked back up to see a black and yellow flash hit the approaching unicorn at super sonic speed. The Unicorn flew ten feet in the other direction, his face no longer recognizable from the impact
I saw Mic, standing over me. yelling at me.
"ARES."
I saw my friend, Michael Abbot standing above me, holding out his hand.
"Don't worry Michael, I'll see you soon"

Chapter 4 Forgotten Memories
Earth: Colorado, 2003
I'm back at my home in Colorado, I just got back from my second tour in Iraq. I ran to my wife and embraced her. My three year old daughter came running out of the door. "Daddy!" I ran to her and picked her up, tears streaming down my face. She stuck her face into my chest and started crying.
"It's alright, daddy's here." A tear ran down my cheek. I had been doing nothing but getting shot at and the stress was starting to take it's toll. I looked at a picture of my daughter every chance I got.
Earth: Colorado, 2006
"I'm sorry babe, but I can't tell you where I'm going, doing so would be a breach of national security." I was standing in my living room, my wife sitting on the couch.
"Well it's just so hard, you know?" She started crying. "Us, your family, never knowing where you are or when you'll get back or even IF you'll get back." She wiped her face. "I just want my husband, the man I married, to be around for our daughter. I want him to be at every play, every recital, every soccer game. She misses you. I miss you."
I sat down next to her and put my arm around her. "I know it's hard, I know. It's just something that I have to do."
She pushed me away and put her head in her hands. "No it's not. You don't have to do anything."
I slowly lifted her chin in my direction. "Listen, honey. I promise you that i will be fine. I will be at every play, every recital, and every soccer game." I put my head to her head. "I promise that this will be my last assignment."
she looked up at me through teary eyes. "You promise that this is the last one? You promise that I will get my husband back?"
I held her hand and kissed it. "I promise."
Earth: Colorado, 2007
"No Michael, I made a promise that I wouldn't go back to that place." Music was all around us as I took another sip of my beer. My friend Michael was sitting next to me drinking a glass of whiskey, he always did have an eye for the strong stuff.
"I know you made a promise, but we need you back." He set his drink down. "Fallujah just hasn't been the same war torn paradise with out you, bro."
I let out a chuckle "Is that the reason your'e going with?" I said taking another sip of my beer, the cold liquid felt refreshing in the summer heat.
"Fine, if you won't come back then can you at least be my wing man and help me get a little tail before I get shipped back?" He looked behind him to the pretty blonde sitting behind us, she gave him a smile and a little wave.
I looked back behind me. "Dude, she is way out of your league." I chuckled
"Just help me, jackass."
"Fine" I put down my beer and got up and walk to the blonde. She notices me approaching and quickly checks her self to make sure she looks good.
"Hey stranger." she says in a cool tone. "Can I help you?"
"No, but do you see that guy over there, the one at the bar?" she nods and smiles. "He's a friend of mine and thinks that your'e really cute." She blushes "He gets shipped back to Iraq tomorrow."
Her face lights up. "Oh, so he's a military man? What branch?"
"He's a Marine, and a bad ass one at that." Her smile grew even wider. "Why don't you go over there and talk to him, he might share some of his war stories." At that point I left the table and walked back to my seat.
"Hey man how did it go?" Michael asked, taking another sip of his drink.
I held up three fingers and slowly counted down. "Three. Two. One." Just then the women sat down next to him.
"So," She said seductively. "I heard you were in the military."
At that I got up. "Have fun Romeo." He lowered his hand and flipped me the bird as I walked off.
Earth: Colorado, 2008
The weather was horrible that day, it was raining hard. I was driving down the road with my daughter. We were coming back home from getting ice cream. "Thank you daddy for the ice cream."
I kept staring at the road. "No problem, anything for my special girl."
"Daddy, can we watch Tom and Jerry when we get back?" She asked, staring at me behind her ice cream cone which was now dripping onto the seat belt.
"Sure, if we get back before bedtime, and don't tell mom that we got ice cream." I said looking at her and back at the road.
"Don't worry daddy, I won't." She was now trying to wipe up the dropped ice cream. "Daddy can we go over the bridge on our way home? I like to see the water."
"Sure thing sweet heart." I turned down an old road that lead to the old bridge. We started crossing it when I saw a pair of headlights swerving all over the road. "Oh shit" I swerved and narrowly missed the truck, but my tires gave way and we started hydroplaning. I tried to gather control but we hit the side of the bridge.
"Daddy!!" She was screaming, we had hit the barrier and my truck slid part way through, the front right side now hanging off in what I could only sense as a thirty degree angle. The passenger door flew open upon impact. Kate started slipping out the door. I undid my belt and grabbed her hand. rain water pouring through the broken windows, soaking us.
"Kate! Hang on!" I held on as hard as I could, her hand slowly slipping from mine.
"Daddy, please don't let go!" The water was causing her hand to become slippery. I tried pulling her up, she managed to grab onto the glove box handle, I had her closer to me, I was going to save my daughter. Just then the glove box flew open, she dropped and her hand flew from mine.
“No no no no NO! KATE!!” I screamed, reaching for her as she fell.
“DADDY!” She hit the water and was sucked under. After that, everything just went black.
Dear Daniel Armstrong- I'm sorry for your loss, she was a good kid and will be missed. We want you to know that if you ever need anyone to talk to, Jane and I are here for you. Signed, Michael Abbot
Memories of that night came back to me, my heart rate must have raised because a nurse ran in "He's awake someone page Dr. Frank!"
"Where am I?!" I grabbed the blanket, trying to get up. The nurse had to come hold me down.
"Your'e at St. James Medical Center, you've been in an accident." I calmed down.
"Where is my daughter?!" I grabbed the sheets again trying to get up. "Where is my baby girl?!"
Just then, a doctor with brown hair and glasses walked in the room. "Ah, Daniel Armstrong your'e awake."
"Who the hell are you?!"
"I'm Doctor Frank Drucie" He had a very monotone voice, one that made me sick to my stomach just hearing it.
"Where is my daughter? Is she ok?" I said through gritted teeth.
The doctor paused for a moment. He pulled his glasses of his face and grabbed a chair and sat it down next to the bed.
"Your daughter was found just this morning." I felt a sense of relief, followed by concern.
"Is she alright?"
The doctor paused again. "When we found her, she had looked like she had been submerged for quite sometime, she had multiple cuts and bruises from being thrown around the rapids." He paused and looked up at me "Sir, I regret to inform you that your daughter did not survive. I'm sorry. If you would like, I could refer you to a thera-"
His voice became muffled, every word he said was lost on me. The only thing that made me happy was now gone. She was the reason I got up every morning, she was the reason I had happiness. Nothing made my day more than seeing her smile. Now she was gone, and it was all my fault.
Earth: Colorado, 2008 two months after wreck.
The fights had gotten almost unbearable. “I tried so hard to save our little girl. I’m sorry.” I sat in my chair with a beer in my hand. We tried to patch everything up together, but we both realized that she was the only thing holding this relationship together.
“YOUR’E THE REASON SHE’S DEAD!!” She yelled at the top of her lungs. I got up and faced her.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't able to save her, I tried, I tried so hard but-" She slapped me in the face.
"I don't ever want to see you again, don't ever talk to me again." She grabbed her bags and walked out, leaving me in our now empty, torn house.
I fell to my knees and looked at the bottle in my hand. I felt rage. I screamed and threw the bottle across the room, It hit the fire place, shattering into a hundred little pieces. I fell to the ground, sobbing.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I couldn't save her!"
Earth: Colorado, 2009
"I'm glad you came to see me man, what can I do for you." Michael sat there, with a cold beer in his hand. He started drinking lighter ever since he and Jane met.
"I want to rejoin the Marine Corp." His head perked up and he looked at me wide eyed.
"Really man?" He had a look of complete surprise on his face. "Are you sure about that?"
"Yes." I slammed another shot of Vodka, the liquid stinging the back of my throat. "I want to rejoin."
"Why? You fought to get out and now you want back in?" He still had the surprised look on his face.
"I have nothing." I looked down at my glass of vodka. "Sarah left me, and I'm losing the house. I need something to make me feel whole again."
"Well then," He took another sip of his beer. "I'm sure Captain Matthews will be happy to hear about that. You know, he still asks me about you, saying 'He was the best damn marksman in my battalion.' or some shit like that." He snickered. "The Captain told me that if you still know how to handle a rifle, than you can come back in, but your ranks would be reset, and you would be the same rank as me."
I looked down at my Vodka, and downed it all in one slug. "Let's do it." We shook hands and we walked out of the bar.

I opened my eyes to see a wooden ceiling accompanied by beams with beautiful etchings of vines. I looked to my left and saw an I.V. connected to a bag containing a red liquid. I was hungry and had the strange urge to eat some sort of vegetable. When I tried getting out of bed, I felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen and chest. Bandages were wrapped around my body. Slowly getting up as to not hurt my self, I turned to see a green couch along with a bowl of carrots on it. I reached for the bowl and dug in, downing five of the carrots before hearing a soft voice from behind me.
"Your awake." The voice was obviously female, it had what sounded like lack of self confidence. I turned around quickly surprised to see a yellow and pink blur fly behind the furnace.
"Hello?" I said quietly as to not scare her "Please come out, I promise I won't hurt you." Blue eyes looked out from behind the furnace. I held out a carrot in my hand, hoping to get a better look of who she was.
"Those carrots are angel's." Who was angel? Just then a white blur zipped out from under the couch and snatched the carrot from my hand. He hit hard enough to leave a small cut on my hand.
"Ow." The white blur stopped on the couch and stuck it's tongue out at me. It was a white, fluffy rabbit. It took the carrot and started stuffing it's face. "Hey!"
"Oh no, did my little angel hurt you?" She galloped over to me and took my hand and eyed it closely. She had long pink hair, and had a yellow coat, her cutie mark containing three Pink butterflys. "He's never done that before." She gave a look to angel. "Angel, you need to learn to share." He just stuck his tongue out at her and hopped away. She started wrapping my hand in guaze, too much gauze.
I reached for her hoof. "You don't need to do that." She jumped back, hitting the shelf on the furnace and falling over it, knocking a bucket down to the ground. It clanged on the floor. "Woah, I'm sorry." I slowly got up and went towards the furnace. "I didn't mean to scare you." She was stuck upside down against the wall. Her back hooves hanging in front of her face. Tears were flowing down her face. I grabbed her legs and turned her over, her hair was covering part of her face. "Are you alright?"
She had a little scrape on her left cheek. I moved her hair out of the way and pulled her face about a foot away from mine, eyeing the scrape, she looked down, a blush appearing on her face. "I'm sorry." She said, a tear falling down her face.
"Why are you crying?" I chuckled, grabbing the bandages and putting one on her face. "Am I scaring you?" I pulled back at the thought that I may be scaring her.
"No, you aren't scaring me." She looked down again, rubbing her hoof on the ground. "Iv'e just never dealt with a human before." I jumped up, realization hitting me like a bat to the face. I was supposed to not exist. No one was to know of my existence except the princesses and some parts of the Equestrian Military. All civilians who saw me were to either have their memories wiped or they would be liquidated if they tried to tell anyone. I was breaking the number two rule that I was given. I had to find some way to get out of here.
I grabbed my uniform that was hanging by the door. I was suddenly stopped by a familiar voice. "Good to see that you are up and at it again." I turned around to see the young pegasus, coffee in hoof. Without his armor I could see his black and yellow mane running down his back into a yellow stripe that extended to the back of his flank, through his cutie mark, which was just a microphone. "I see that you have met Fluttershy."
I was surprised to see him even without his armor."Do you realize just how many rules we are breaking right now?" Stepping towards him, I had my hand clenched in a fist. "Do you know what will happen if the Shining Armor hears about this, or worse, Celestia?!"
"Don't worry about it, Fluttershy is a very good friend of mine, she would never tell anyone of our whereabouts, ain't that right, Fluttershy?" I looked behind me at fluttershy who was now laying on the ground, hooves over her ears.
"Yes." She squeaked. I felt bad for her, she probably had no idea what was even happening right now.
"Even so, Celestia knows we're here." I was surprised. Surprised that Celestia let me stay here, especially with a civi. Mic started talking again, taking a sip of coffee. "It was hard getting you back here, I had to lift you on my back, but they never told me how much you weigh." He set his coffee down on the table.
I grabbed the bowl of carrots and sat down, popping another carrot in my mouth. "How far did you carry me?"
"Well," He lifted his hoof to his chin. "I carried you from Winsome Falls and here to Ponyville." I spit out the carrot in my mouth.
"You carried me that far?" I was stunned, he not only lifted a one hundred and ninety pound marine on his back but he also managed to carry my unconscious ass all the way to Ponyville?
"Well, I had a little help." He looked over to Fluttershy, a small smile growing on her face. She got up and slowly moved closer to me.
"You told a civi where we were?" I face palmed, he had broken one of the most important rules in the secret op handbook.
"Well, sort of." He rubbed the back of his head, ruffling his mane. "She was able to meet me 2 miles away from the site, away from all the danger." I shoved another carrot into my mouth, I usually never liked carrots, but these were absolutely delicious.
I sighed, "Well, at least you didn't get her killed." I looked at her, she looked down and rubbed the floor with her hoof.
"It was my pleasure." She said, sitting her flank on the carpet, where my makeshift bed was. "You know, I had a hard time keeping you here. I had to keep you in the living room, I couldn't even have my friends come over to help." She poked her hoof at my blankets. "I fed you, undressed and clothed you."
"Undressed and Clothed?" I looked at my uniform which now lay on the couch. I blushed immediately. "How long was I out?"
"Five weeks." She said, a small smile again creeping onto her face.
"Five weeks?!" I asked, astonished at how long I had been out.
"Yeah, after you obtained those injuries," He pointed his hoof at my chest. "You lost a lot of blood, so we decided to try something, Princess Celestia even approved." I looked at the I.V. that was still in my arm.
"You didn't." I said again, face palming.
"We did," He took another sip of his coffee "we documented every little thing that happened, from your body accepting the blood to even when you went through the process of gaining your cutie mark."
"My Cutie mark?" I was confused, I had heard that only ponies could get Cutie marks. "Well where is it?" He pointed at my Hip. I pulled open the band in my pants and looked down, right there was a picture of a skull with a beret along with crossbones. I felt down and rubbed it. I had never gotten any tattoos, my mother would turn in her grave if I ever got one."Holy Shit."
"We don't exactly know what that means, because well, nopony has ever gotten a cutie mark like that." He pulled out a file, with my name on it. "Here you can look at the file, It documents the whole experience."
"Ill look at it later, we have to get back-" I whinced in pain as I tried getting up. My bandages started bleeding again.
"You aren't going anywhere." He said, eyeing my bandages. "Celestia even told me that you need to get completely healed before you can do anything." He was right, I needed to heal before the last assignment. Wait, the healing spell.
"What about that healing spell that Celestia knows?" Both Fluttershy and Mic gave me a puzzled look. "Now that I have a cutie mark, that means that Equestrian magic could possibly affect me, right?" Mic brought his hoof to his chin.
"Maybe, but she can't come down here till spring." He said giving me a little shrug.
"What? Why not?" I looked around for a window, all the curtains were drawn. I grabbed one of the curtains and moved it. I saw snow as far as the eye could see. "Dammit. When will all this be over with?" I asked, closing the curtain.
"Thirteen weeks." He grabbed the file and put it back.
"Are you kidding me? I have to wait Ten weeks in the cold?" I was not ready for cold weather, my gear only consisted of gear that was needed for the climate in Iraq. "How am I supposed to keep from freezing my ass off?" I said, crossing my arms.
"Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me, Princess Celestia had some of this cooked up." He pulled out a small vile of orange liquid and handed it to me. "This is a potion that is primarily used to keep the user at a comfortable temperature."
I eyed the vile and then put it down. "I'm gonna save this for when I get better." I had to heal up first, what was the use of wasting a good potion if you can't even use it?
"Hey, what are you going to do while I'm out of commission?" I asked, sitting back down and putting the last carrot in my mouth, setting the bowl aside.
"Princess Celestia has called me back to Canterlot for a debriefing, she wants to debrief you but only after you get back." He grabbed a saddle bag off the ground and headed to the door.
"Wait what if other ponies see me." I was concerned that me being here would jeopardize my mission.
"You will be fine. Celestia has promised both you and I that she will wipe the minds of everyone in Ponyville except us three." That's a relief. I was afraid that the mission was in jeopardy. I would hate to have kill innocent ponies.
"Um, you will have to stay with me- if thats alright?" Said a quiet Fluttershy who had wrapped herself in my blankets.
"Uh, sure no problem." I was starting to feel cold. "Hey, um." She looked up at me, those blue eyes staring deep into my soul. "Can I have my blanket back please?" I noticed my self getting quieter as I looked into her eyes. I quickly looked away as to make things less awkward then they already were.
"Riiiiggghhhhttt, well then," Mic Cobalt was looking at us, an awkward smile on his face. "I'm just gonna head back to Canterlot, you two have fun." Mic Cobalt then left leaving the two of us alone.

Equestria, Ponyville, Fluttershy's cottage one week after waking up.
Fluttershy invited her friends over to look at me. They all showed up, and cautiously entered the house. I was sitting on the couch enjoying some coffee when I heard them gasp.
"Oh my gosh, it's a live human. Celestia had me study your kind" Said the purple one who I assumed was Twilight Sparkle. She walked up to me, her horn glowed a purple hue as she tried to lift my arm which was also now glowing a purple hue. My arm was not budging, that meant that while I now had Equestrian magic Inside me, My human side still rebounded their magic. She tried to use even more force, her face scrunching up as she tried her best to move my arm. "What in Celestia?"
The orange pony, Applejack came over to her friend. "Think ah might be able to help, sugarcube?" She said her hoof extending out to Twilight's shoulder. She sounded southern, almost like she worked on a farm.
Twilight stopped and slouched over looking at Applejack. "Be my guest." She said, moving her hoof towards me.
AppleJack tipped her hat and turned around, exposing her cutie mark, it contained three red apples. She smiled and rounded up like she was going to buck me. She kicked, Her legs extending in a straight line as she kicked with all her might. I managed to grab both her hoofs in mid air quite fast, those were not my usual reflexes, I would have been kicked in the face and would have been wondering what happened. Applejack's face turned from a smile to confusion as I stood up, lifting her upside down in the air, hat falling to the floor. All the color in her face drained as she looked up at me, I let her down and she grabbed her hat and hid behind Twilight, who, along with the other ponies in the room, had similar expressions on their faces.
"If you wanted to look at me, all you had to do was ask." I said, sitting back down. I took another sip of my coffee and just stared at them. They looked at me and then at each other then back at me. The blue one, I think Rainbow Dash, looked at Applejack and said. "Wow, looks like the strongest pony in Ponyville couldn't handle it." Applejack shot her a look. "I'm Rainbow Dash, by the way." She flew over and extended a hoof to me. She sounded kind of tomboyish.
I grabbed her hoof and shook it. "I'm Daniel, Friends call me ARES." She had a look of awe as I spoke.
"That is such a cool nickname!" She said, pushing her cheeks together.
"Rainbow, darling." The white and purple one was Rarity. She spoke like she was from a fancy family. "we have to look professional when we are meeting someone new." Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. "Hello, My name is Rarity."
I saw something out of the corner of my eye and saw a pink blur shoot out in front of me, cutting Rarity short. "And I'm Pinkie Pie!" Confetti shot out behind her, covering everything in the room. Fluttershy, jumped into my arms. She looked at me with those eyes, we stared for a moment. We both blushed and she hopped out of my arms. I had a warm fuzzy feeling come into my stomach. We stared at each other as Pinkie started singing a song. I didn't hear a single word. About the time she got done was when I stopped staring at Fluttershy. "Come On And Smile."
I looked at Pinkie Pie, a big smile across her face."That was, ahem, something, nice to meet you." I extended my hand to her and she grabbed it and started shaking it very fast. "YouandIaregoingtobesuchgoodfriendI'mgonnamakeyouacakeandwearegonnahaveapartyand-" I looked at the other ponies, my expression screaming for help. Applejack was shaking her head. Rainbow Dash was over in the corner, eyeing my gun. Twilight had wasn't even looking at me, she was writing something down in a book. Rarity just sat there with an annoyed look on her face. And Fluttershy was looking down at the ground blushing, her hoof rubbing the wooden floor.
Rainbow Dash picked up my gun, which had been previously changed into an M82A1 sniper rifle, and looked at it even closer, her hoof rubbing the handle. "Hey what does this-"
BOOM
The sound scared the shit out of me and the ponies. The bullet luckily flew through the window, shattering it and sending pieces of glass all over the floor. The kick from the rifle sent Rainbow Dash into the wall, A small indent was left when she slid down to the floor.
"Rainbow!" Applejack yelled as she ran over to her friend, and held her face close to hers. Rainbow Dash's eyes were rolling around. She blinked and they straightened and she leaped up into the air.
"That. Was. AWWEESSSOOOMME!" She had a huge smile on her face. I ran over to the wall and picked up my rifle. I pulled out the mag and unchambered the round inside before turning on the safety and sticking it behind the couch. Fluttershy was already there, cowering in fear.
"Come out Fluttershy," she looked at me, Tears flowing down her face. I reached down and picked her up and set her down on the couch, she crawled onto my chest and put her face under my chin. Her tears stopped and she looked up at me, blushing. I blushed too.
"Uhhhh, you two alright?" asked Twilight who was now looking at us with her head turned to the side.
Fluttershy looked at twilight and then back at me and looked down at my chest, she then got a horrified look and jumped off me. "Uh, y-yes we are fine. I was just feeling his chin hairs." I looked at her, nice save, Fluttershy.
The ponies eventually left just Fluttershy and I there alone. When they left, Fluttershy then flew back into my arms and sat in my lap sticking her face under my chin and began crying again. I gently rubbed her back as she lay her head into my lap and fell asleep.
Equestria, Fluttershy's cottage, two weeks after waking up.
The cuts on my chest and abdomen had healed surprisingly fast, so I decided to give that potion a try. I grabbed the orange vile and downed it in one go. I almost spit it out, it tasted horrible. It tasted like hot sauce mixed with milk. I took it down and immediately started to get this feeling of warmth. I walked outside in shorts and a T-shirt and just stood there, amazed at how I felt. I didn't feel the cold, I looked down and flexed my toes in the snow. It was like standing on a pillow. I saw a big snow pile and immediately started running. I jumped head first into the pile and went down to my knees. It was amazing, I didn't feel the cold.
"Hey, Fluttershy!" I said, whilst laying down in the snow, spreading my hands and legs out. She poked her head out of the door and looked at me, her eyes wide. "Look, snow angel!" I started moving my arms and legs as to make a snow angel. She ran out to me with a blanket.
"Hurry, you might catch a cold." She threw the blanket on my head. I picked it off and threw it back, landing on her face.
"The potion worked, now I don't have to freeze to death while I'm here." I grabbed her and brought her to the ground. She got up and pounced on my chest, I laughed as I looked into her blue eyes. I suddenly got that funny feeling again. I blushed and looked away, I suddenly felt her peck my cheek. I froze and looked at her. Her face changing from happy to horrified, she ran back into the house. I heard her bedroom door slam shut. That fuzzy feeling came over again tenfold. I had to ask my self a question.
Was I falling for Fluttershy?

Chapter 7 Target Practice
"Daniel, I'm leaving to go get some groceries." said Fluttershy, grabbing her scarf. "I'll be back in a few hours."
I sat down on the couch reading one of the books I kept in my pack. I looked up at her. "Alright, I'll be here. Stay safe."
She walked out of the house and shut the door, I walked over to the window and peered through it, watching Fluttershy cross the small bridge out front. I turned back and saw the barrel of my rifle sticking out from behind the couch. It had acquired much dust from sitting there the past week. The last time I used it was when we were attacked by timber wolves, That was a hard fight. I tried different combinations of guns, but only the 50. was enough to wound them, what made them go away was the sheer sound of the gun being discharged. I decided to keep it as a noise maker just in case the wolves came back.
Looking back out the window, I waited for her to cross the hill to Ponyville. Once she was gone, I grabbed my M82A1 from behind the couch and took it outside. The air felt nice on my skin as I walked outside. I grabbed some old cans and an old barrel from the trash and set them at varying lengths. I filled the barrel with water and green dye so that I could see it when I hit it. I walked back to the house and climbed onto the roof, nearly slipping off. I made my way to the top window and looked out and around me, checking to make sure I was clear. I had a clear vantage point from the house to Ponyville and the field where I layed the cans. I was amazed by how beautiful Ponyville was. I setup the bipod and layed down. I grabbed the magazine from my pocket and loaded the rifle, pulled the slide, and let it rock back. The gun vibrated, signifying it now having ammo. I aimed down the sight at one of the cans. I then picked up and aimed my range finder at it. It was about 500 meters away. I aimed and pulled the trigger.

"What the hell?" I looked down and pulled the trigger again.

"Oh christ."I said under my breath as I pulled the magazine out and checked it. "No, still got ammo." I pulled the slide back, the round popping out. I grabbed it and put the bullet back in before letting the slide rock back. "Nope that ain't it, either" I looked down and saw my mistake. "Aww god dammit." I layed my head down in the snow. Embarrassed of my self, I flicked the safety off and proceeded to take aim again. The wind slowed down, allowing me to take a less angled shot. I aimed and pulled the trigger.
BOOM
The rifle kicked against my shoulder. The flash from the muzzle blew snow off the roof. The sound could be heard bouncing off the hills. I saw the can fly off the stand, accompanied by a poof of dirt behind it where the bullet hit the ground.
I took aim at the next can, this one was 750 meters away from me. I put my finger to the trigger and began slowly squeezing the trigger before I saw a magenta eye in my scope.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh shit!" I fell backwards, slid off the roof and hit the snow.
"Woah, are you o.k.?" Said the blue pony as she hovered down to me.
My ass end sticking out of the snow, I pushed my way up until I flew out of the snow, falling on my ass. "What the hell, Rainbow?" I looked up at her, a confused look on her face. "I almost shot you!" I gave her an angry look before getting up and brushing my self off.
"Sorry, I was flying overhead and saw you on the roof." she explained, crossing her hooves and some how flying on her back. "I saw a light come out of the end of that stick of yours, accompanied by a loud noise." She stopped in mid air, hovering. "I wanted to see what all the excitement was."
I looked up at her, my head pounding. "First of all," I was gonna let her have it. I raised my index finger. "That 'Stick' just happens to be an M82A1 sniper rifle. Second," I raised two fingers. "That 'light' that came out of my rifle is actually called a Muzzle Flash." She interrupted.
"Oh I know Muzzle Flash, he happens to be the Pony who captures pictures of me for when I'm famous." She said, holding out a picture of her flying.
"I don't care. And third." She looked very offended. I then held up a third finger and continued my rant. "That sound is the byproduct of what happens when you shoot a 700 grain piece of death out of a 50. cal."
Her face turned from anger to one of curiosity. "Death?" She lifted a hoof to her chin. "I didn't know about that."
"Let me show you just how devastating it can be." I got up and climbed back up the roof, almost falling off again. Rainbow Dash hovered just above me with her hoof to her chin. I got back up and grabbed the magazine and inserted it. I pulled the slide back and let it rock back, the gun vibrating. I aimed down at another one of the cans. "See those cans and barrel?"
"Yeah?" She squinted her eyes at the can.
I pulled the trigger.
BOOM
The rifle gloriously kicked back into my shoulder, the spent shell gracefully flying out of the slide. The muzzle flash was beautiful and the sound was like a symphony. The can split in half, flying into the air before falling back to the ground. I looked at Rainbow Dash who had an unimpressed look on her face.
"I could do that with my eyes closed."
"Bull shit," I retorted. "last time you used my gun, you ended up flying into the wall and blowing out one of the windows." I turned over and faced her. "It took me four hours to fix that window!"
"I didn't even see it." she stuck her nose up at me. "because I was too busy being awesome!" She put a pair of shades on her face.
"Fine," I turned back over adjusting my rifle to my new position. "You wanna see what this thing can really do?" I looked through the sight and aimed for the barrel. I was going to show her why you shouldn't get in my way. The range finder read 1500 meters. I slowed my breathing and put my finger on the trigger. I slowly squeezed and...
BOOM
The 700 grain bullet made it's way out of the rifle, flying past tree after tree, bird after bird, before hitting the barrel with pinpoint accuracy. The barrel exploded in a fountain of green liquid and splintered wood. The shot was heard for miles. Ponies looked up, wondering what that noise was. Little did they know, it was a point being made.
Rainbow Dash lowered herself to the roof and landed. Her mouth wide open, she lifted her shades. "That...was... AWESOME!!" She leaped into the air, raising a hoof above her head. "Wait until I tell everypony about this!" She flew off towards Ponyville.
"Heh."
I picked up my rifle and made my way down to the ground. I looked at my gun and blew on the barrel, making a whistling noise. I opened the door and walked inside.
"Still got it."

Equestria: Fluttershy's Cottage. 6 weeks after waking up.
I don't know why I'm still here. After the kiss, she started avoiding me. Everytime I tried to talk to her, she would either run away or start crying. I hadn't seen her at all. I haven't seen her after those Pegasi in suits came looking for her, They told me that If I saw her then I should talk to them. I probably won't, those Pegasi looked pretty shady.
knock knock
"Wh- what?" I slowly woke up to someone pounding on the door. I got up, pulling on a robe that Rarity had made me. It was red with a pink flower pattern on it. "I'm coming"
knock knock
"I said I'm coming!" I slowly walked over and opened the door to see an eager Rarity standing there wearing one of her many scarfs around her neck. "Oh, whats up Rarity?" I was still mad at her for what happened last week.
She lifted her hoof up to her mouth. "Ahem, I was wondering if you could..." She paused for a second. "model for me again?"
Oh jesus, not this again. The first time she had me model for her, her cat ended up destroying my uniform. I had just gotten it cleaned, too. The damn thing pissed on my uniform, apparently it was in heat. I looked at her and with a blank stare. "No."
She looked hurt. "But why?" she whined.
"Because I can't afford to have piece of clothing destroyed," I pointed at the robe I was wearing. "This is all I have left after what your cat did to it."
"Please Darling," There was that noisy whine again "I promise that Opalescence won't be at my boutique this time."
"You promise?" I could use some new clothes. After all, having a red flower robe wasn't exactly 'Manly'.
"Yes!" She smiled and raised her front hoofs in the air.
"On one condition." She paused, her eyes opening wide.
"And what would that be?" She gave me a nervous grin.
I crossed my arms and leaned against the door. "I want to choose the designs."
Disgust filled her face. "Iv'e seen the clothes you wear darling and let me just say that they are a little...um..." She gulped raising a hoof to her mouth. "drab."
I was gonna get a new uniform whether she liked it or not. I leaned in "Well I guess we both won't get what we want." I turned around to close the door and she caught me.
"Fine." annoyed, she stomped her hoof onto the ground. "You can choose the designs."
I told you I would get what I want. I smiled. "Glad you see it my way."
"Can we at least Collaborate?" She asked, sitting on her flank and pressing her hooves together.
"Sure."
Equestria: Ponyville, Rarity's Boutique.
After being oogled at by Rarity and listening to all of her ooohs and ahhhs, she finally let me "Alright darling, I have the measurements done." Blushing, she gave me a small smile. "Go see what materials you like."
I put my clothes back on and began rummaging through boxes and boxes of old hats and fabrics. "You wouldn't happen to have Kevlar, would you."
"Kev-what?" She gave me a confused glance.
"You know, Kevlar?" I looked at her realizing that they didn't have bullet proof vests in Equestria. "It's a type of armor us humans use to protect us." I pulled my helmet out of my pack and showed her it. "This is Kevlar."
her horn glowed a blue hue as she took the helmet from my hands. She eyed it closely. I was hoping that she would have something like it. "You want armor?" she gave me a concerned look.
I nodded. "I need the strongest stuff you got." She gave me a concerned look. I pulled a big bag of golden bits out of my pack, courtesy of the princess herself. "I'll pay for your troubles."
Her face lit up with a smile. "What do you have in mind for design and color?" her voice became low and quiet. She pulled out a notebook and began listing my demands
"I want complete protection but full maneuverability. It needs a sleek design, I'll also need a helmet to conceal my face. I also need it in full black."
"Give me two weeks"
Equestria: Ponyville, Rarity's Boutique two weeks later.
I walked up to the boutique, rifle in hand. I had to bring it to make sure the armor would allow me to use it. The blinds were down and the door had a sign that read closed. I walked right in and was surprised by a little white filly unicorn with pink and purple hair.
"We're closed." She grumbled
I laid my rifle by the door. "I'm here to pick up an order for Daniel." Her face lit up. "I am assuming that my uniforms are ready?"
"Yes, you are that Daniel?" I nodded.
"Yeah...why?" I was curious how this little filly knew about me.
She was rubbing her hoof on the floor. "Oh nothing," She looked up and gave me a big grin. "Just that she is amazed by your body and wants to rub things all over y-MMPH" A pillow wrapped in a blue hue flew across the room and covered the little filly's face.
Rarity ran out of the other room."That's enough out of you, " She glared at her sister. "Bed...NOW!"
The young filly ran up the stairs, laughing hysterically.
"Uhh..." What the hell just happened?
"Sorry about that, Sweetie Belle has a wild imagination." She laughed nervously before giving me an awkward smile.
"My... uh... uniforms?" I just wanted to get this over with.
She coughed, quickly regaining her composure. "Yes, right this way."
We entered the show room and saw six uniforms just like the one I used to have, and a piece of full body riot gear. The Chest was made to look kind of muscular and had shoulder pads and full arm armor. The Chest piece had a decal of my Cutie Mark. A skull with a beret, crossed by bones. The shoulder pads also had a decal of my Cutie Mark. Rarity blushed when she showed me the chest piece. "I used your helmet and duplicated the kevlar components into sheets, the armor is plated in such a way as to not restrict movement. In The back plates are used to protect your spine and vital organs. The shoulders are also made of kevlar, along with the arm pa-"
"Can I use my weapon while standing, kneeling, sitting and laying down?" I interrupted.
She smiled "Of course, darling. I always know what my customers want."
I I looked at the legs. The thigh pads reached all around and so did the knee pads. The boots protected everything below the knee. They looked astonishing.
We then moved to the helmet. The helmet mirrored my old combat helmet, but contained a face mask. It was painted with a yellow skull. I don't know how Rarity did all of this without complaining.
"Well?" Said Rarity, full of anticipation. "You wanna try it on?"
I walked over and put on one of the six uniforms and started pulling on the Armor. I started with the pants and boots, pulling them on slowly to make sure I didn't feel any imperfections. I then put on the chest piece, buckling the bottom of the chest to the top of the pants. I saw Rarity standing there, a big smile on her face, stars in her eyes. I pulled on the Helmet and attached the straps at the bottom to the straps on my chest. I did a few jumping jacks, push ups, I jogged in place. The armor was surprisingly light. There was only one problem. I pulled at the crotch of my pants.
"What's wrong, darling" asked Rarity, blushing.
I stood there still pulling at the crotch of the armor. "Oh nothing, just that these pants are made like a cheaply made castle."
She gave me a confused and hurt look. "How so?"
I pulled up the mask and gave her a blank look. "There's no ballroom."
She looked at me, with a confused look. Then it hit her. She blushed and glared at me. "Why you Ruffian, that's not funny."
I busted out laughing. To my surprise, she jumped at me. I caught her and hugged her.
She was blushing when I let her go. She regained her composure. "Well then, I believe that this is yours." She levitated a big bag of bits towards me and dropped them on the floor.
"What's this?" I pointed to the bag of bits, the same bag that I had given to her as payment for the uniforms and armor.
"Well, since the uniforms didn't cost that much and I duplicated the armor, I just figured that I don't need the money right now and that you should keep it." She smiled at me.
I picked up the bits and handed them back to her. "I can't take this."
She was flabbergasted. "What? Why not, darling?"
"Work as good as this deserves something in return." I handed the bag back to her.
She blushed. "Thank you."
I packed the uniforms into my pack and grabbed my rifle from the door and left. What ever my next assignment was, I was going to be ready for it. I thought back to the KKP.
Those bastards won't know what hit them.

I was on my way home when I thought to the way Rarity was making those faces at me. She didn't like me , did she? No, a pony of her class would never have a crush on a creature like me...would she? These thoughts pondered in my head as I walked back to the still possibly empty cottage. Fluttershy hadn't been back in weeks. I was beginning to get worried but in that time I have started to realize that she can get a little annoying with her constant crying. I hope she is alright but I need to find a new place to live.
I pulled up my mask and lit a cigarette. It had been a long time since I had had one of these. The smoke hurt at first but as kept breathing it in, I got used to it again. The last time I smoked was right before my daughter, tears in her eyes, told me. 'Daddy, please don't smoke, I want you to be alive to see me walk down the aisle.' I chuckled at the thought. That would never happen now.
I felt a tug at my holster. I looked back to see a green aura grab my pistol. "Oh no you don't!" I reached around just to have it slip just out of reach. "Who the hell?" I saw my M9 fly back to the culprit. A unicorn in a black cloak. He looked at me, white eyes glaring at me before running towards Ponyville. "You little shit, come back here!" I lowered my mask and gave chase.
The pony ran through the street, Green aura still around my pistol. Shouldering my M4, I tried running and aiming, but couldn't fire due to the possibility of hitting somepony.
Each shot felt good against my shoulder. Since I had earned my cutie mark, I noticed a lot of changes. I loved the feel of my weapon discharging. I loved the way the weapon sounded being cocked. I loved the way it sounded, as if it were my own little symphony. I felt most calm when I was fighting, and found that I was even more violent in the way I killed ponies. I, actually enjoyed it really, maybe a little bit too much.
The hooded pony ran into an alleyway with me in tow. I entered, gun raised, ready to splatter this ponies brains across the wall. He was gone, like he had vanished. I opened my mask and yelled, pushing a fist into the wall. The wall cracked. Looking at the wall, I was awestruck. Never in my life, had I ever hit a wall and had it break, usually it was the other way around. I looked at the sky. It was a beautiful night. The moon was full and no clouds were present. It was just me and Luna's moon. I looked up, staring at it. I heard an alarm go off followed by three gunshots. Three distinctive shots that sounded way to familiar. I raised my M4 and ran outside the alley to the streets. The shots were coming from the Ponyville bank. without thinking, I ran for the bank.

Ponyville bank
Inside the bank were tellers and clients of all different colors and sizes. They ranged from rich ponies taking withdrawals and poor ponies trying to get loans for dreams that would never be realized. One pony in particular was about to make a different withdrawal. Not one of the money kind, but one of the love kind. He walked in slowly, out of breath, looking around. He saw all the ponies but was looking for one in particular. The one he desired was a white alabaster unicorn with a luxurious purple mane. She was there to make a big bit deposit. One she had earned just earlier. Using his magic, a green aura surrounded something in his cloak pocket. He pulled it out and pointed it into the air, firing a single shot into the ceiling.
BANG
Plaster fell from the ceiling as ponies all over the bank looked with terrified glances at the one wielding the special object. He pulled off his cloak, revealing his sharp black horn, his white fangs, and his bug like wings. Ponies screamed at the sight. A changeling was among them.
Two of the guards at the desk charged the changeling. He aimed the black object and pulled the trigger.
BANG
One of the guards ponies fell to the ground in a pool of his own blood, while the other kept running at the changeling. The guards pony jumped at the changeling who ducked and using his horn, thrust up, slicing the underbelly of the guards pony as he fell to the ground, dazed and confused. Looking down to see his entrails falling to the floor, he screamed, to which the changeling aimed the object and fired a round that pierced the guard's pony's skull, leaving skull and brain tissue across the floor. The changeling looked back at the crowd. "Get down on the ground!"
"Please, don't hurt us." whined a little orange and purple filly. The changeling smacked the filly with the object.
"Shut. Up." said the changeling through gritted teeth. He looked up and spotted his prize, the white alabaster unicorn with the purple mane. His face relaxed. "Ah, you are even more beautiful in person," He pointed the object at her. "Come here."
Not wanting to see herself in the same condition as the guards ponies, she got up and slowly made her way to the changeling. "What do you want?" she said through teary eyes.
The changeling simply replied. "I want what you gave to that thing ."
She looked at him confused. "What do you mean, Armor?"
"NO!" He yelled, pushing the object to her neck, right below her chin. "I want what you feel towards him."
She blushed."No, I won't give you that." Despite her circumstances, she was calm. He smacked her with the object.
"Rarity!" screamed the little orange and purple filly.
The changeling turned the object towards her and shouted. "You shut your fucking mouth!" He looked back to Rarity, who was rubbing her cheek from where the weapon had struck her. "Either give me your love or I am going to take it from you and have fun doing it!" He pushed the gun to her temple. A tear fell from Rarity's eyes as she was prepared to keep her feelings a secret to the day that she died.
The door flew open and a big black figure standing on it's back hoofs ran through with a similar blue object in it's, hoofs? "Get away from her!"

I was running towards the bank when I heard shouting, I slowly approaching the door and looking inside. There were two dead guards ponies, one had been shot through the chest and the other looked to have been eviscerated, a good sized hole through his forehead, showing what was left of his brain. I saw the culprit. It was another one of those changelings, though this one looked malnourished, like he had been starving. I saw my M9 hover above his head. I saw Rarity on the ground, rubbing her face where she had must have been hit. I saw Scootaloo inside, She poked her head up and said something, barely audible. Then pointing my pistol her way shouted. "Shut your fucking mouth!" Fire burned in my chest as I reached for my weapon. I stopped my self. No you can't let them see you, you have to stay hidden. My hand started to twitch. I suppose my trigger finger was itching. The Changeling then pointed my pistol to Rarity's temple. Fire and adrenaline surged throughout my body, I had this feeling that I had never experienced before. It was a mix of hatred and burning passion. I grabbed my M4 and Kicked my way through the door.
"Get away from her!" I yelled, raising my rifle. The changeling jumped behind Rarity pulled her up. He held the gun to her head.
"Daniel!" She cried in anguish.
"Perhaps, I can use your love," Hissed the changeling. "I could sustain myself for a week of of your love." The changeling pushed the barrel of my pistol against her head. "Put your weapon down or I will kill her."
I had seen these things go down before and based on my experience, I reluctantly lowered my rifle to the floor.
"Now kick it over." He hissed I kicked my M4 over to him where he made his mistake. Instead using his magic to grab my rifle, He bent down to grab it with his mouth. With his eyes to the ground, I made my move. I was there in two strides and jumped between him and Rarity. He pulled the trigger launching a round into my shoulder. The bullet did little less then just pinging off of my shoulder. I was relieved that I hadn't been hit. I grabbed my pistol from him. He dove behind the counter as I fired seven of the remaining eleven bullets. They hit the wooden counters, creating splintering holes as they collided. Some even went through the wood, hitting the wall behind. The smell of sulfur was a beautiful thing. Unfortunately, none of the bullets connected with my target.
The changeling began levitating what ever he could my way, trying to disorient me. I quickly shot them out of the air with deadly accuracy. My pistol opened, proving that I was in fact, out of ammo. I threw the gun aside and brandished my combat knife. The changeling jumped over the counter and tried to stab me with his horn. He bounced off of my new armor. Glancing back at Rarity, she had a smile on her face as she was witnessing her work being used for what it was intended for. It was like her own little fashion show. The Changeling got up and jumped at me again. This time I grabbed it by the neck and ran towards the wall, crashing through it. Wood and plaster raining to the ground as I slammed the changeling into a desk, breaking it. Blood pouring from his mouth, he tried crawling away. I grabbed him by his back hoof and slammed him against a wall. I then picked him up by the neck and pushed him against the wall. I grabbed my knife and raised it. Looking him in the eyes, I saw his fear, and I lost it. "YOU!" I stabbed him in the lower abdomen. "DON'T!" I pulled the knife, blood squirting onto my mask, and stabbed him again, repeating the process between each word. "FUCKING!...TOUCH!...MY!...RARITY!...." With that final word, I stuck my knife through his forehead and into the wall behind him. He went cross eyed as his body went limp. I let go and just stared at him, hanging there.
"Daniel?" I heard her voice. I looked her way and seeing the compassion on her face, fell to my knees. She approached me and lifted up my blood stained mask. "Did you mean what you said when you said that I was your Rarity?"
I nodded. "I will always protect you Rarity, I will never let anypony or anyone hurt you." She leaned in and kissed me. I pulled her into an embrace and returned the kiss.
"I will always protect you."
I pulled my knife out of the changeling's head, it fell to the floor in a lifeless heap. I looked down at Rarity, who looked disgusted at what I had just done. "Rarity I need to get out of here." I glanced back at the confused and terrified ponies who stared at me. They didn't know whether I was good or bad. I didn't care. I just had to get out before they saw my face. "Rarity please."
Rarity looked up at me. "Follow me." She led me down a hallway to an exit in the back, we made our way into the forest and hid in a bush. Rarity was sitting in my lap, clutching my chest. Ponies came out to find us
"Look over there." Said one, pointing away from us. "We have to find out where that monster is." I guess that answered my question of whether they thought I was good or not. They ran past us.
When the coast was clear, I stood up and saw that Rarity was still clutching my chest. "Uh... Rarity?" She looked up at me. "They're gone." She let go and fell to her hooves.
"Sorry Darling." She rubbed the back of her head, before regaining her composure. "Follow me." She led me out of the forest and we turned up at her boutique. "Here we are." She looked tired.
I hugged her. "Thank you for getting me out of there." I let go and turned to leave. "I need to get back to the cottage."
Rarity stopped me. "You can stay here tonight if you want." She coughed. "It must be lonely with Fluttershy visiting family in Cloudsdale." So that's where she was. I started to feel chilly. That potion I was given was starting to wear off and I never told Rarity to make me winter clothes.
Shivering, I responded. "I probably should stay here tonight."
Rarity smiled. "Come on in, Daniel." She motioned me to come inside. I walked in and was greeted by warmth. I leaned my Rifle against the wall and realized that, in our escape, I had forgotten my M9. I'm sure an object like that would just be sent to Canterlot for inspection. I shrugged it off and undid the straps for my helmet and pulled it off, setting it down on one of the tables.
"Thank you Rarity." Looking down at her, I smiled. I undid the straps on my chest and pants and pulled the armor off. I stood there in just my shorts. Rarity gasped and looked at the floor, blushing. "Sorry." I knelt down and grabbed one of the uniforms out of my pack, quickly putting it on.
"Would you like to sit down?" She motioned over to a couch near the wall. I approached it and sat down, leaning back and finally relaxing.
"Thanks Rarity."
"Um, can I ask you something?" Said Rarity sitting down on the chair next to me. I nodded, looking at her. "How did you get here to Equestria?"
"It's a long story, one filled with loss and heartbreak." I looked down. She came over and sat down next to me, putting a hoof on my hand.
"It's alright, I'm here for you." She gave me a sympathetic look. I figured I could pass the time around so I told her.
"Well it all started about about 12 years ago, when my wife and I had a child.
"You had a child?" She asked. "What was her name?"
"Kate..."
"If you had a daughter, than why did you join the military?"
"I joined because of an event that happened in my own country." I looked at the American Flag patch on my pack and picked it up. "9/11, A day when terrorists destroyed one of the biggest landmarks in America, thousands of people died within hours." I looked up to Rarity. "I joined because I wanted to protect my wife and daughter." I leaned down and grabbed a picture of my daughter and showed it to her. She used her magic and grabbed it from me and looked at it, a tear streaming down her face. "I joined because I didn't want my daughter to grow up in a world where she would have to live her life in fear." I looked at the picture of my daughter. "I guess it doesn't really matter now anyways." Rarity gave me a look of confusion. "Well, I got out of the Military, I wanted to see my daughter grow up, to walk her down the aisle at her wedding. I was out for about a year and a half before the accident..."
"Accident?"
"Yeah, Kate had a tough day at school and I decided that I would take her to get some Ice cream to cheer her up. It started raining and we went over this bad bridge. A truck flew into our lane and I swerved out of the way but lost control and hit the guard rail." Rarity winced. "We were hanging off the side and it was pouring. Her door flew open, and she started falling, I grabbed her by the wrist and tried pulling her up. She started slipping through and grabbed onto the glove box and it flew open, causing her to fall and her hand getting yanked from mine. I saw her fall into the rushing water below before I blacked out." Another tear was falling down Rarity's face. "I woke up in the hospital and was notified that she didn't make it."
Rarity hugged me, crying into my shoulder. "I'm so sorry Daniel."
"That was five years ago."
Rarity looked up at me. "How did you get through it?"
"I didn't. My wife left me and I turned to Alcohol. I was asked by my best friend, Michael, to rejoin the USMC. I decided I would rather stare through the sight of a gun then stare at the bottom of a bottle. I rejoined and used my daughter's death as fuel to rank up. I eventually was asked to come on the mission that eventually got me here." I decided to spare her the part where Michael died.
"What did Princess Celestia do with you when she found you?" She wiped a tear from her face.
"She sent me on missions to seek and destroy these groups known as the KKEP and the KKU." She gave me a look of confusion. "They were threatening her and Canterlot."
"How could Celestia do that, why would she send you instead of us?"
"Because she wanted them dead." Rarity's ears fell back. she gave me a terrified look. "Every government has their own terrible little secrets, even mine." I pointed to the American Flag patch in my hand. "I did it because she told me it was the only way she would help me find a way home." I got up and knelt down so that I was eye level to Rarity. "But I now realize that I don't want to go home."
"Why don't you want to go home?" She looked into my eyes.
I leaned in and kissed her. Breaking the kiss. "I'm not going back because you wouldn't be there." She looked at me wide eyed. "I love you Rarity."
She kissed me back. "I love you too, Daniel."
"I knew you two were together." Sweetie Belle came out from under the couch where I had just been sitting. Rarity pulled back, falling off the couch and onto the floor.
"Sweetie Belle! What have I told you about listening in on my conversations?" Rarity Scolded Sweetie Belle.
I stood up raising a fist and coughing into it. "I...uh...ahem." I looked down at Rarity, who was now using her magic to pick up Sweetie Belle and move her to her room.
"I thought I told you to go to bed!" Sweetie Belle's laughter could be heard all the way up the stairs. I sat down on the couch and looked at Rarity, who looked a bit flustered. She calmed down, brushing her mane with her hoof. "I suppose I should go to bed, I will see you tomorrow morning."
"Alright, Goodnight Rarity." I hugged her. "I love you."
She hugged me back. "I love you too, goodnight." I watched as she walked up the stairs to her bedroom. I gathered my bags and laid down on the couch. I had the feeling that everything was going to be just fine.
I grabbed a journal out of my pack and began writing. When I was done, I put the journal back in my pack and went to bed. I was finally happy.

Chapter 11 End before the Beginning
Two months, two months since I moved in with Rarity. Iv'e kept a journal dating everything Rarity and I have done together. I fear that I may not make it back from my next mission.
"Listen Rarity, I promise this is the last mission." She sat next to me on the couch, crying into my shoulder. I put my arm around her. She pushed me away.
"I know," she looked up at me through teary eyes. "I just don't want to lose you."
I got off the couch and knelt down, eye level to her. "You will never lose me, where ever you are, I'll be there too. I love you."
She wiped her eyes and smiled, I grabbed a small black box from my pocket and opened it to her, revealing a Gold wedding band. "Rarity Belle, I love you with all my heart," She stared at me with a surprised look. "and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." She smiled, tears streaming down her face. "Ms. Rarity Belle, will you marry me?" Without hesitation, she answered.
"Yes, I will, I will marry you." She jumped, tackling me to the floor before planting a kiss on my lips. I kissed her back. She got off, allowing me to get back up. I pulled the ring out of the box and reading the engraving allowed, put it on her horn. "Always my Rarity Belle."
She looked at her self in the mirror. "I love it." She said before jumping into my arms. I hugged her back, planting a kiss on her lips, not noticing a tiny filly behind me.
"What's going on in here?" Said Sweetie Belle, who came down stairs, rubbing her eyes.
I looked down at Rarity who looked up at me then back to her sister before replying. "Sweetie Belle, Daniel and I are engaged. She pointed a hoof to the ring on her horn."
Sweetie Belle's eyes shot wide open. "So, he is my..." She said, slowly leaning in.
Rarity didn't let her finish. "He is now your brother-in-law." She squeed, before nuzzling my neck.
Sweetie Belle smiled. "I'm so happy for you sis, I guess you will now get to try out your fantasy of rubbing things all over h- MMPH!" A pillow hit Sweetie Belle. Rarity's cheeks were now red.
I looked down at her. "Uhh...what fantasies?"
She grinned, her sister was wrapped in a blue aura of magic and was whisked away upstairs before putting a hoof on my chest. "You'll find out in a little bit." She said it seductively. Now I've been in the Military for a good portion of my life, but nothing made more nervous than thinking of what could possibly happen tonight. She levitated a red piece of ribbon and loosely tied it around my neck before pulling me upstairs. "Follow me, Mr. Armstrong"
"Ok, Mrs. Armstrong."

Canterlot Dungeons: 4 weeks after proposal.
Now I know why I haven't been called upon all this time to attack the base. It was mobile, those fucking pegasi. They were literally able to sit above us and plan out attacks. I'm being sent in to deal with them head on. No more covertness, no more silencers, no more surprises. I'm being sent up with support this time, six other ponies, all pegasi. I asked Celestia why they were going with me, they were just armed with spears and knives. I tried to tell her that I could do this by myself. But she insisted that I pick the team If I'm so unsure. She didn't seem happy with me, probably because they found my M9 at the bank. I knew It would come back. I picked Mic Cobalt and five other pegasi to join me.
I stood in the Canterlot Dungeons, before my fellow soldiers, it's been a long time since I last had anyone with me on a mission. I spoke with authority, showing these ponies that I am not to be messed with. "We are to be flown up and dropped off at the insertion point here" I pointed at the map on the wall. "I am to defend the Chariot until we land on the cloud. Celestia has been so kind as to grant me a three hour cloud walker spell. That means that you have exactly three hours before I drop like a rock." one of the Pegasi laughed, I glared at him
"Sorry sir."
"After we land, I am to cover all of you while you all 'cloud kick' the area. Due to us being on clouds, No explosive's will be used."
One pegasus spoke up. "Why are we not using explosives, wouldn't that be faster?"
I looked at him, with a look of 'are you fucking serious?'. "You are a pegasus, what happens if a heavy object touches a cloud."
He looked at his buddies who were giving him the same look. "It will go through?" Mic rolled his eyes.
I sarcastically started clapping. "Ding ding ding. You got it." Mic laughed.
He piped up again. "Wait, if you can't use explosives, then why are you coming?"
His buddies beside him put their hooves to their faces.
"I already told you, the only reason I'm going is so that I can defend your dumb ass while you cloud kick." I looked back to the entire group. "When all is said and done, we are to eliminate all KKP members. Dismissed." I picked up my rifle before walking out of the room. Mic caught up with me.
"So, I heard that you and Rarity finally tied the knot. Congratulations man." Memories of that night came back to me, I blushed.
"Thanks, brother." I stopped, giving him a bro fist/hoof thing.
"You plan on having Foals?" He asked, eyeing me suspiciously.
"She and I were curious about that so we went to the doctor and he explained that because of the pony DNA in my blood, I should be able to have kids."
"Well congratulations."
"Thanks Mic."

Location: Somewhere over Ponyville.
"Alright guys we're approaching the LZ, get ready for some heat." Said one of the Pegasi flying us up there. Two of the Pegasi were flying us there while the other four were in the chariot with me. I opened the hatch and attached my M240 to the chariot. I convinced the ponies building this to make a hatch on the top so that I could turn and aim from the safety of the cab. I grabbed the ammo box, attaching it to my LMG. I pulled the belt out, opening the feed tray, before inserting the belt. I closed it, slamming a fist down on the feed tray, locking it into place. I focused out in the distance, There was the compound.
"Mic, you might want to take a look at this." I said, pointing towards the floating compound.
Mic poked his head through the hatch and gave a surprised look. "Holy shit. It's massive."
Now I know why Celestia gave me the three hour Cloud walker spell. This was gonna take a while.
An alarm sounded from the base. They must have seen us. "Mic, get back inside, I got this." He nodded and disappeared through the hatch.
From the base launched at least forty ponies. I clenched my buttcheeks, I was actually nervous, I had mowed down ponies before, but that was on the ground. And these things could fly all around us. But I had something these pegasi didn't, A fully loaded M240 and a pissed off attitude.
"Prepare for Contact!" yelled one of the Pegasi pulling us. I cocked my LMG and aimed. The enemy was still far off but was traveling quite fast. If I could take them out before they got to us, then we could circle around and shoot down at the pegasi stupid enough to stay on the cloud.
DADADA....DADADA....DADA....DADADADDAD
I used burst fire to conserve ammo, even though it was unlimited, there was still the five second reload time. I saw my tracer rounds connect with a few of the pegasi, one was hit and dropped down, another one had it's wing blown off. I looked down to see them hit the ground, they turned into red paste. I looked back up to see that they were now very closer.
I aimed and concentrated fire on the biggest group of Pegasi first.
DADADADADADADAD...DADADADADADAD...DADADADADADAD
Pegasus after pegasus was blown out of the air. Some were split in half and others would just drop.

"Shit, reloading." My gun began to reload as some of the Pegasi got within striking distance. I pulled out my M9 and began shooting.
BANG BANG BANG
one Pegasus dropped, hitting the chariot with a loud thud.
My gun vibrated, I pulled it up and turned it into an AA12 with a drum mag. A pegasus landed with a knife in his mouth. I out the barrel in his face and pulled the trigger,
BOUM
His head exploded along with most of the upper half of his body, Blood flew every where, painting the side of the chariot. The Pegasi pulling us cringed. His body flew off the chariot, a bloody streak was all that was left. I then went back to work.
BOUM BOUM BOUM
Pegasi exploded into red bits of bone and viscera, I think I saw an eyeball fly past me at one point. I dispatched the last pegasi in the air before we approached the compound. There were ten big buildings, all made of cloud. I trained my weapon on the buildings, Some of the Pegasi were cowaring inside, probably thinking that the clouds were going to protect them from my fury. They were dead wrong. I aimed and began pumping rounds into the clouds.
BOUM BOUM BOUM BOUM
I saw blood fly from the windows in the clouds, my rounds were hitting their targets. We started our decent and landed on the cloud. The Pegasi unhitched themselves from the chariot and began cloud busting. I went down and opened the side door. Mic along with the rest of the Pegasi soldiers, jumped out and joined the group. They went from building to building, destroying it piece by piece. I slowly stepped out of the chariot. I didn't have a lot of faith in those spells. I stepped down and was greeted with the familiar feeling of having something beneath your feet. Realizing that i wasn't going to fall, I ran to my soldiers and covered them as we went. We didn't have much opposition, many of the Pegasi were either cowaring or trying to get away. I mowed them down without mercy. I was having fun, perhaps a little too much fun.
I was clearing one of the buildings while my team was off clearing another building, I stopped when I saw a little pegasus filly, her mane was yellow and her coat was pink, tears streamed down her face as she stared at something behind a box in the corner, I slowly approached her.
"Hey, are you alright?" She looked at me before falling on her flank, trying to run away. I lowered my weapon, lifting up my hands, showing her I was unarmed. She slowly walked over to me. "What are you doing here? Were you taken captive?"
"No." Tears streamed down her face.
I was confused. "What are you doing up here then?"
"Me and my mommy were told that we would be safe here." She started sobbing.
"Where is your mommy?" I asked, hoping that the Pegasi here hadn't killed her.
She pointed to behind the box.
I walked over, and almost lost it when I saw it. It was a Pink pegasi. I couldn't tell what her hair color was, because her head was missing. Blood and bone were splattered all over the wall and part of the box. I looked at my AA12, and then back at the body and came to a grim realization. I had just killed a mother, I was now a murderer. I kept looking at her body, even as my fellow soldiers came in.
"We found another one." shouted on of the Pegasi soldiers.
"No get away from me!" I looked behind me just in time to see Mic Cobalt slit the Filly's throat, The filly screamed, but nothing came out. I stared in horror as the filly fell to the floor, her lifeless eyes staring at me, staring at my soul.
I pointed my shotgun at him, Pissed off and confused, I yelled. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!?" Before he could answer, I picked him up by the throat, and slammed him down onto a table with a loud thud. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!?"
"We were told to eliminate everyone in the compound." He said, choking. I picked him up and threw him towards the wall, it busted and he flew down and hit the cloud floor.
"She was just a little filly!" I yelled.
He chuckled. getting up and grabbing a knife off a dead pegasus. He walked over and laid it down next to the filly. "Well, ARES, It looks like I just saved your life."
I pointed my shotgun at him. "She was just a little filly, You bastard." I was tackled by the other five Pegasi, my AA12 dropped, falling through the clouds, but was still attached by the strap. "Why?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"Because, these ponies were monsters, they deserved to die, the judgement of Celestia does not discriminate based on gender or age. She was just as guilty as the rest."
I struggled, trying to get up, I was shoved back to the ground. "FUCK YOU!"
"I was actually hoping we could be good friends, but you just have to make it so difficult." He gave me a look of sorrow. "I guess you now have to die." One of the Pegasi brought a knife to my throat. "I'm sorry it had to end this way, don't worry, I'll keep Rarity company after you are gone." He snickered
I freaked out at the mention of his plan. "AAHHH!" I closed my mask, the blade deflecting off the mask, catching the guard off guard. I grabbed the knife from him and stuck it through his neck, blood flying from his mouth as he went down. With my arm now free, I pushed up and rolled over grabbing my M9 from the holster and putting three rounds into each Pegasus on top of me. The Pegasi on top of me never new what hit them. I stood up, Mic had a knife in his mouth, He started to move when I pointed my pistol at him. "End of the road, Mic." His eyes opened wide. I pulled the trigger.

Mic Smiled. "Out of bullets, Daniel?" He had never used my real name before. He lunged at me with the knife, I holstered my pistol and side stepped, dodging Mic. I picked him up by the wing and slammed him on the ground. I stepped on his wing, cracking it. He screamed, before thrusting his knife between the plates of armor and into my leg. I let out a scream as I fell to the ground. I grabbed the knife, trying to pull it out. Mic got up and held his wing, gasping in pain. "You do know that Celestia lied to you right? The mirror was broken the in the attack on canterlot, you can't get back, No matter how hard you try." He calmed down."You know, I've been counting the minutes and from what I know, you only have about two minutes before the spell wares off and you fall to your death. I of course, will stay up here. They will come looking for us, you know. I'll be the only one left and I'll be hailed as a hero. Don't worry, you'll also be a hero." He painfully smiled at me. "I'll tell them that you fought bravely but you got injured and didn't make it to the chariot in time. And don't worry about Rarity, She'll move on. She won't ever think of you again, especially after I give her the ride of her life." He laughed. He walked over to the edge of the cloud and looked down. "That's a long way down." He said, shaking his head.
His plan pissed me off, I no longer felt the pain of the knife in my leg, but I felt a pain in my chest. I got up, disregarding the knife. "Fuck you!" I don't know how I did it but I pulled the knife out of my leg and threw it at him. He gave a surprised look as the knife connected with his chest. He stood up on his hind legs. I got up and grabbed my Rifle, now an M4. Using one hand, raised it towards him.
He asked me a question "You know-cough- I never asked, what do you feel when you shoot a Pony?"
I looked at him and answered his question. "Recoil."
BANG
He fell backwards off the cloud, I walked over to the edge, just in time to see him splat on the ground. "Rot in Tartarus."
I hobbled my way back to the chariot, and sat down, waiting for someone to come find me. After four hours, somepony did.
"ARES?" said a lone pegasus soldier. I looked up at him. "Where is the rest of your team?"
"Dead" I replied, pointing to my leg. "Get me the hell out of here." He and another Pegasus hooked up to the Chariot and flew me back to canterlot.

We arrived and I was given a healing spell. I jumped off the chariot and made my way to the throne room.
I opened the door and slammed them. Celestia looked quite startled, her guards running over to me. They both lunged at me and I grabbed them by the throats and knocked there heads together. They fell to the ground, unconscious.
"How Dare you come her and disrespect me like this!" Screamed Celestia.
"Shut the FUCK UP!" I pointed my rifle at her, I didn't care, I needed answers. "Can I really get back to my home word or are you lying to me?" She gave me a blank stare. "Answer me GODDAMMIT!"
She sighed. "No, the mirror was destroyed in the attack on canterlot, the day you came here."
"Another question, Why did you really send us to the KKP Compound?"
She looked at me, disdainfully. "There is no such thing as the KKP, The pegasi you killed were part of a group trying to take over the Government. They wished to break it down and turn it into a democracy, It would have been utter chaos."
I held my rifle tighter. "Did you know about Mic?"
She looked confused. "Mic... Cobalt? Know about what?"
"That he was planning on killing me and stealing Rarity away from me?"
She looked hurt. "I knew no such thing." Her face quickly changed from hurt to anger. "Did you know that people believe that you are the one who killed the two guards at the Ponyville bank? After you left, I had everyponies Minds erased."
I lowered my rifle. "You didn't erase-"
"I did, she knew too much." I raised my rifle and aimed for her head. "Know that for this act of treason you are hereby banned from Equestria." immediately, Shining armor and around thirty Guardsponies surrounded me, at spear point. "You can either leave peacefully or, you can die here."
I had nothing, I lowered my rifle and turned around, walking past the Guardsponies. "Know Princess, Celestia, That I will come back, and when I do," I stopped at the door and turned around to face her. "I will come for you."
