A True Family

Fluttershy sat down at the kitchen table in silence, she was puzzled at Discord's behavior last night, she had NEVER seen Discord cry, let alone hug someone, perhaps she was right, discord was a different creature underneath his stern demeanor.

"Fluttershy?"

Fluttershy jumped, she had only just realized that Screwball and the others were sitting at the table.

"Oh...Yes, Screwball?"

"You've been quiet all morning, are you alright?"

"Oh...I'm fine, I've just been thinking a bit about thiiiiinnngggs-"

Fluttershy's heart dropped when Discord entered the room, his mane was a mess and it looked like he didn't get much sleep. Discord's eyes widened when he saw Fluttershy, they both looked at the floor awkwardly while their faces were very red.

Screwball, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Button Mash looked at each other confused.

Discord sat on the opposite end of the table. Looking away from Fluttershy and the kids.

"Um...I think me and the others aren't very hungry" Screwball said to break the awkward silence

"Yeah, Button mash is REALLY excited for the new episode of his favorite show," said Sweetie Belle forcing a smile.

"Huh? What new episode?"

Apple Bloom kicked him from under the table.

"OW, oh, THAT new episode"

"If you excuse us, we'll just be out in the other room," Said Screwball walking to the living room with the others. But not without pressing their ears again the wall.

Fluttershy and Discord sat in complete silence for almost a whole minute, until Discord broke it.

"I'm sorry..."

"Huh?"

"What happened last night...I...I don't know what I was doing"

Fluttershy frowned softly

"Discord...what WERE you crying about?"

"It's nothing...it was just a nightmare"

"A nightmare?" said Fluttershy doubtfully

"Yes, it was just a Nightmare" Said Discord stubbornly, he got out of his chair and turned around with his arms folded. He then jumped when he felt a soft hoof touch his paw.

"Discord, I KNOW something is wrong, what were you dreaming about, please, I won't judge you"

Discord looked down at the small pegasus, her eyes were pleading with him, with her big beautiful teal eyes staring into Discord's chaotic ones, he sighed heavily

"Alright I'll tell you...just PLEASE stop holding my paw"

Fluttershy instantly let go of his paw and waited.

"Well...I had a nightmare where...I was a small pony...and I needed something to eat, then there was a stranger, he gave me an apple, I took one bite and then I turned into...well...what I am now..."

Fluttershy's eyes widened,

"Really?"

"That's it"

"Do you think it might be part of your past?"

"I don't know, I can't even remember my Mom and Dad," said Discord nonchalantly

Fluttershy paused and then stood up

"Discord...I have an idea, but it requires you to go outside"

"WHAT?! Oh no no no, I HATE going outside, much less like THIS"

Fluttershy flew up and looked him in the eyes

"Discord, you shouldn't be ashamed of how you look, besides...I...I think it's extraordinary" she whispered with a slight blush.

Discord was stunned, this little pony, liked the way he looked? She must be insane, but Discord knew deep down that she meant it and that she was just as sane as he was.

"...Fine...where do we need to go?"

Fluttershy smiled happily

"It's a little hut in the Everfree forest, I don't think it's far

"Very well...but let's make this quick" Discord said sharply

Fluttershy nodded and had Discord follow her as he summoned an exit.

The four kids came out of hiding

"What was that all about?" asked Scootaloo

"I have NO idea," said Screwball.

"WHAT IF THEY NEVER COME BACK?!" said Sweetie Belle worriedly

"Well, if they're gone, at least we don't have to follow any rules," said Screwball putting a hoof on her shoulder with a grin.

"Oh.My.GOSH" said Sweetie Belle grinning back

Zecora sat in her hut sorting her potions and such when there was a knock at her door, she got up to answer and saw her friend Fluttershy.

Ah, Fluttershy we meet again, it's nice to see you, my good friend,

"Hello Zecora, it's nice to see you too, but...my friend has a bit of a problem"

"Who?-"

"Actually I'm more of an acquaintance," said Discord as he appeared inside, to a shocked Zecora's surprise.

Fluttershy cleared her throat and spoke

"I know he's a bit...surprising, but, trust me, he's friendly...anyways, he had a nightmare and...I think it might mean something, we need a potion to reveal his past"

Zecora said nothing then spoke

"If that is what you wish, then very well, take this potion" The Zebra took out a potion and looked up at Discord "Your past, it will tell"

Discord hesitantly picked up the potion and looked at Fluttershy

"Are you sure this is safe?"

Fluttershy nodded and made a gesture for him to drink the potion

Discord gulped and drank the potion, and the world around him disappeared.

Discord looked around, he was in a...bakery? It was an empty bakery except for two occupants, a beautiful mare, with a white coat, a black mane and tail, and a beautiful pair of golden eyes, and a handsome young stallion with a midnight ash coat, red eyes, and gray mane and tail.Discord guessed he was a prince by looking at his formal attire.Discord couldn´t put his finger on it, but the mare looked familler, the stallion however, did not. They sat in awkward silence until the stallion broke it.

"You really are beautiful, you know that?" he said as he walked closer to the mare "Your raven hair, your ghostly white coat, and your scorchingly golden eyes that are exquisitely haunting"

"Uhh...thank you?"

"However, I know you´ve been lying to me," he said, he disappeared and reappeared behind her, this time he had a peculiar fang sticking out. He grabbed a lock of her mane, giving her the chills.

"You said you liked me, but I can see through you, and I´m not so sure I see the "Like" you proclaim to have for me"

The mare looked very nervous as she gazed upon him, he had not let go of her mane.

"Oh, don´t give me that look, my dear, I´m not angry at you, I can wait patiently, now let´s enjoy our cake, shall we?"

The mare nodded, however, she knew deep down that this definitely was not the bubbly prince everypony thought he was.

Discord snapped out of his trance due to a sharp pain in his head.

"OW, CANADA!!!" he exclaimed then he stopped as Fluttershy and Zecora raised an eyebrow at him

"Well, that word came out of nowhere," he said rubbing his head.

"What did you see?" asked Fluttershy

"I..I saw...I think I saw..."

Discord paused and then spoke once more

"I think I saw Mom..."

"What?!"

"I THINK so, but I only saw a bit of her"

Zecora then spoke.

"You saw your past, as clear as day, keep the potion, the rest of your past is still far away"

"Thank you Zecora, we appreciate the help"

Zecora nodded as the two of them started on their way back to the castle.

Discord was silent for almost ten minutes as the walked back to the castle.

"I haven´t walked this far in so long" he muttered

Fluttershy looked up at him

"Discord? Do you miss your mother?" she asked

Discord didn´t answer for a minute, then he said

"I don´t remember her "

Fluttershy smiled sadly.

"I´m sure she was a wonderful mare," she said

Discord sighed

"Thank you..." he muttered

Fluttershy stayed close to him,

"Discord? Why are always so...distant?"

"...It´s complicated" said Discord softly

"...I meant what I said earlier" she said, "I think you're an extraordinary creature...I´ve never seen anything like you"

Discord turned a little red as they reached the door to the castle.

"We need to check on the others," he said changing the subject"

"I´m sure they're behaving themselves," said Fluttershy cheerfully

Discord opened the door to see the castle a complete disaster with the kids running around.

"KIDS!!!!!" shouted Discord
