Chapters They waited….
And waited…
Until finally it happened in the middle of winter on one cold and Icey night, the miracle came. The crystal palace was silent apart from the screams coming from the royal chambers of the palace. All guards where posted, extra guards were even posted by entrances all waiting to hear…
From inside of the royal chambers no more screaming could be heard but the cute cries of a baby. The princesses’ of equestria was present and waiting outside the royal chambers to be allowed to see the family. The princess of friendship and her 5 friends were present along with a baby dragon. The royals of equestria and the grandparents of the new arrival were finally allowed entrance to the royal chambers and to get their first look at the new crystal princess. Stepping in to the royal couples chambers, you would find a small lounge room with 4 doors leading off to other rooms. The lounge is where the waiting family had been.
In the 1st room was the couple’s collection room. It held a double desk, book shelf and a cabinet that the couple kept some of the special things they had gifted each other. The walls were a cream with golden leaves painted across from a tree that was painted in the centre of the main wall. There was red carpet throughout the chambers.
In the 2nd room you would find the new baby’s room. This was the original place for the couple’s desk but they changed it into the new baby’s room. It was a blue room with white clouds painted on the wall. The couple had painted them themselves. The walls were originally designed to fit their other baby before they got the terrible news… There was a wooden cot with 4 crystal balls on each leg, some bright coloured shelfs with various toys and a rocking chair in the corner.
The 3rd door was the royal bed chambers, this held the couples king sized crystal framed bed, a walking wardrobe for both of them. A door leading to the baby’s room on the left, on the right was the door to the bathroom and the door to the royal balcony. The room was crystal heaven everything that could have some kind of crystal accessories did.
The 4th and final door held a gorgeous bathroom. The sink and toilet along with a crystal double bath and a shower. The tiles were black with blue and pink crystal tiles lined in a pattern across the walls. A large crystal framed mirror was above the basin. The bathroom also had a door leading through into the bed chamber.
Queen Cadence the mother of this new-born was laying on the bed which she shared with her husband, she looked wearily at her family as they walked in to see her new-born daughter. Her husband, King Shining Armor and father to the new-born looked proud and protective over his new-born as he held her for the first time. They both looked tired as it was getting on for 2am and Cadence had been in labour for a good 12 to 15 hours. She was wearing her night gown; the white gown with pink frilly lace around the arms and the bottom that her loving husband had brought her especially for this occasion. Cadence although tired still kept her tiara golden and polished sitting at top her head. On her horn sat her wedding ring, the one Shining had nearly gave to the changeling Queen Chrysalis.
Shining was still in his royal armour as he had been checking on a problem in the mountains to the left of the Crystal Empire. Something about black emery crystals and had gone to check on it when cadence had sent him a bubble call and told him the baby was coming. He and the guards had quickly walked back to the empire immediately for Shining to be at the birth. Even though he would have had time to check the disturbing report and got back to Cadence’s side with hours to spare! He had taken off the necessary armour so he felt comfortable but didn’t leave Cadence’s side to take a shower and change into more comfortable clothes. He was far to excited to finally get to see his new-born after months of trying and then waiting for the magical day, only to then get the horrible news that the baby had miscarried or was going to be born dead. They had conceived 6 times before this baby had come to terms.
The 1st was miscarried because of the fight with Queen Chrysalis. Cadence had fallen pregnant due to bad protection. When Celestia found out, she rushed the wedding forward. The couple were going to get married about 4 months later but with a royal baby on the way they had to have the wedding sooner so the baby would look like it was conceived on the couples honeymoon. Being so weak from being locked up underground without much food and very little water, she lost the baby.
The second was a similar problem she lost her second due to the stress of holding up the love barrier against Sombra. She was about 3 months into her pregnancy. When Shining’s horn was encased by crystal she was force to sacrifice her energy and love for the shield and became very weak and had fallen unconscious at least twice while the battle was occurring. This was the second time she had place Equestria before her own pregnancies. She was determined to keep the next one alive. Unfortunately they then had about 6 months before they had conceived again and then their baby boy was going to be their world. Cadence told her chefs to only give her the best, she only did light exercise daily and was checked on a weekly schedule. Shining took most of the royal duties on himself only asking cadence for help when they were alone and her wouldn’t be stressed. Of course being in the army and being a soldier is a big difference to being a prince and ruling an empire but he did it.
Once the couple found out it was a boy. They went out and picked blue and white paint for the cloud pattern. They brought bright coloured shelving blocks and bought a blue pram. The couple were set for their baby boy to come and then 1 month before the baby was due they got the news his heart rate wasn’t right… Cadence had a nurse check the baby and her every morning and it looked like it was going well the baby was getting back up to how it should have been and then a morning about 2 weeks before its due date the nurse couldn’t find a heartbeat. 2 weeks later Cadence and Shining’s baby boy was born dead. The couple had locked themselves in there chambers and only came out for food for about a month… Then finally after the year they had tried again and miscarried 3 more times, Cadence was ready to give up on having children but shining pushed her to try one last time. This time they did everything as before and she had finally come.
She was perfect in the royal couple’s eyes a lovely shade of pink with a pink mane and tail. She had her dads blue stripe and his bright blue eyes. However she wasn’t just a daughter but also and alicorn with light pink wings fading into dark pink. The couple loved her…
“Flurry! Come down NOW!”
“Flurry heart that’s not fair your daddy can’t fly and you are fully aware of it!”
Flurry was up to no good again. Shining had told Cadence he would be fine looking after her for a few hours while she visited twilight to get some time away. He maybe was regretting that now. Just a Cadence was about to go flurry had flown past her and Cadence watched as Shining ran past her trying to catch their little bundle of trouble…
“You have to be good for daddy. Mommy’s just going to be out for a while and if you’re good I will get you a doll on my way back. Bubble call me if she gets too out of hand and I will be back in a flash.”
“I have got it dear… I think me and 300 fully trained palace guards can keep her in check for a few hours!”
“I know I know and could you finish that-“
“Guest list for the crystal ball in 3 days’ time?”
Cadence gave a knowing smile while Shining gave her his goofy grin as he picked up flurry and a guard picked up Cadence's bag.
“Love you babe.”
“Byyyyyyyyyyyebyeeeeeeeeemoooommyyyy”
“Bye sweetheart. Bye my little cutie”
Flurry clapped her hands as Shining walked back up the stairs into the palace to Finish the long list of guests that would be arriving at the crystal ball for flurry’s 5th birthday party.

The years flew past and Flurry who was now 10 years old was walking to school with her friends from primary school 3 guards following. 2 normal palace guards and Flurry’s personal bodyguard as they walked they chatted. Flurry’s friends didn’t mind the guards it meant the 5 of them could walk to and from school by themselves while the other 10-11 year olds needed their parents to hold their hands. The 4 other girls parents' had agreed to the princess’s guards taking the children from the palace to school and back again. The parents mostly worked in the palace anyway so it was convenient and the 3 mothers who worked in the palace were grateful. The other mother had to pass the palace on her way anyway so she didn’t mind either.
Flurry was streetwise, smart and careful and knew when to listen to her bodyguard. Her friends listened to her more than the guards. They only had to walk about 15 minutes before they were at the school gates and the 2 palace guards left to return at 3pm to pick them all up.
On this morning however things didn’t go as normal. While the girls were busy listening to Flurry telling them about the new teenaged boy that had recently join the guard training programme. They all agreed to go and watch the recruits after school.
A man had walked up to the girls and the guards had confronted him to keep the man away from the girls. The man pleaded with the guards to help him stop an old woman from being murdered the 3 guards with the 5 girls ran with the man. The man pointed to the alleyway and the guards ran down it with the girls following. With the guards backs turned, the man drew a gun and shot all three guards in the back of the head before they had even known about the gun. The man now had the gun aimed at Flurry. People around heard the screams of the 5 young girls and a few people had run to the palace to notify the guards of the problem. Flurry realising she was the target walked forward towards the tall man who was wearing a mask. She spoke in a calm manner.
“If you want me then let this be between me and you, Let my friends go.”
The man didn’t move shocked at the fact this little 10 year old had spoken so calmly and politely. “You’re a very brave little one aren’t you?”
Out of fear 2 of flurry’s friends ran and were both shot instantly. At this point the sound of guards armour approaching could be heard. Before the guards got there though the man had shot the other 2 girls and had walked away through the ally with the princess in his arms. Flurry had pleaded but she just got her other 2 friends killed. Scared and trying and failing to hide her fear; tears pouring down her face.
“Please don’t kill me. My Mommy and Daddy will give you anything please.”
“Come with me and I will spare you…”
Flurry fearing for her life goes with her attacker. Being trained by her dad she does the only thing she can think of and drops her ring on the floor for her daddy to find…

The guards got to the scene to see the princess’ escort had been the target and that the princess herself was nowhere to be seen… 2 guards called their King. They just told him that the princess’ escort had been murdered and he should come at once. The guards all looked fearful as King Shining Armor himself walked into the alleyway. He turned to his guards not looking in their eyes. He spoke in a cold and detached voice asking the one and only thing on his mind…
“Where is my daughter??”
All guards looked on in fear. How would they tell their king, their captain who had stood by them, that they had failed in finding and maybe saving his daughter… Their Princess. The guards all stayed quiet as Shining looked at the floor. As he did he caught sight of Flurry’s ring. Picking it up and looking over the dead bodies. After a long silence and him looking for evidence, he spoke.
“She is alive. Lieutenant notify the parents of Flurry’s friends and tell them they are welcome to talk to me and their queen about this matter… But please make sure they are aware we need a few days… Also notify the guard’s families about the losses. Captain shut off our boarder with equestria no one in or out! And get every guard in the empire ready as in a few hours we are searching the entire empire. Cadence and I will make an announcement in an hour that we are searching the empire! and we will find my daughter. TODAY!”
“YES SIR” They both saluted.
Shining with his head staying down, harshly teleported back to the palace steps. Shining would normally salute back and walk back with his guards but he didn’t know if he would have kept in the tears. He walked up into the palace. Trying to hold back tears as he entered the throne room, luckily the only 2 in there was Cadence and his brother in law.
The throne room was a sight. Crystal windows allowed light to bounce off the floor and ceiling showering the room a beautiful glow of colours. The place had 6 crystal pillars that helped aluminate this light display. There was a red carpet leading to 5 steps that lead to the thrones. 2 golden thrones and above each was the owners’ cutiemark. The right throne was Cadence’s and to the left Shining’s. The thrones had the owners mane colour as the pillow colour shining’s was blue and Cadences was yellow.
The guards closed the doors as he couldn’t hold it back anymore. Slumping down against the nearest pillar he placed his head in his arms and cried openly. Cadence watched him do this before stopping her chat with her brother and seeing to her husband. She walked off her throne to her crying husband she kneeled down and stroked his shoulder comfortingly.
“What’s wrong babe?”
“iiittsss” Sniff “Its Flurrrry…”
“What about her??” Shining looked up at his wife. Her face turning worried he had only cried this bad on the night of their honeymoon… He had cried over nearly marrying that changeling and how sorry he had been. It broke her heart and now he was crying over her little girl… Shining barley cried if he did it was behind closed doors not in front of her brother!
“Sommmmeoneee had taken” Sniff “Her…” Shining then grasped Cadence in a hug as the news sunk into Cadence.
“Someone…… has……..kidnapped….Flurry!?!?” She started to lose it as well as she said the line over and over.”
Blueblood watched as the couple cried. He waited until they had calmed down. Giving them their space before asking what was wrong. Cadence calmed herself and got up to go to her brother. Once she told him, Blueblood was unsure of what to do or say he just hugged his big sister telling her he was sorry and that he would stay at the empire until his niece had been found. He saw Shining hadn’t moved so he walked over to his brother in law. He sat down beside Shining, taking Shining’s hand and holding it tight. Shining then felt Blueblood wrap him in a hug. Shining hugged back before standing up with Blueblood.
“Thanks…”
“Your welcome brother.” Blueblood said with a genuine smile. “If anyone can find her… you will.”
An hour or so passed before King Shining Armor and Queen Cadence announced that everyone was ordered to stay in their homes as the empire was searched. Anyone who was visiting had to line up outside the palace. The train station was guarded and sealed off from the public until the princess was found. It was made clear anyone who was disobeying this order would be arrested and trialled for involvement in the Princess’ kidnap. The equestrian royals were told of the problem and had stopped all trains to the Crystal Empire until further notice.
Although Shining was upset, he was determined to find his little girl. He and his Captain had searched and questioned all of the guards… coming up empty on information. All the guards were cleared. The guards and Shining himself then set out to find his daughter.
When Shining first came into the throne room and once he had stopped crying and composed himself, he went to ask Cadence to seal the empire off but she had already done it right after he had told her. This meant that Flurry’s kidnapper only got about 10 minutes maximum to get out of the city. According to several eye witnesses the kidnapper was a Anthro … Not a Crystal Anthro but a normal Anthro meaning he came from equestria. Concluding that no one saw him with Flurry and he didn’t have wings and he didn’t have a horn, Taking the time into count it meant Flurry was still in the city.
Anthro’s could be born with a unicorn horn like Shining. Some were born with Pegasus wings and others had neither and were just Anthro’s. When addressing an Anthro with its race there was 5 Anthro types known of…

A Ali-Anthro- From pure Magic. No cross found… but believed to be an Alicorn and a human but it’s not genetic until Flurry was born…
This made Shining very angry… it meant the place he was born in… the place that he had laid his life down for and protected with his life. Wanted to hurt him and his family… This would need a good talking to Celestia about, once Flurry was found.
The search parties were sent out people was arrested of all different things…Drugs, weaponry, stolen goods. The long list of things went on as the Lieutenant told his Queen what had been discovered. With Shining out of the field she regularly Bubble called him to tell him what the search had found. It was good they had found and arrested so many but they hadn’t found their daughter or any evidence.
The guards kept looking raiding hundreds of home while fellow guards raided their own homes. Yes all the guards had been searched and questioned but their families and homes were still in line to be checked. The royal couple had ordered all the Empire to be searched. This meant no matter what you was doing. They were coming in. Schools and warehouses were checked along with the mines, the storage units in the castle gate. Everywhere…
After about 3 hours of checking and bringing in people. Cadence called Shining notifying him that ¾ of the empire had been searched and no information had been found about their daughter. He was upset to say the least but happier when she told him the dungeons in the palace were nearly full. He would certainly have a lot of interrogating to look through but it was better that having them all on the streets and its more interesting than diplomatic reports.
Shining’s groups did another half an hour of searching and still nothing. That was until they found one of Flurry’s earrings. Not her but a sign they was close. Shining called Cadence immediately telling her the good news.
Cadence was happy and feeling relief. Shining had found the start of her daughter’s path. Hopefully he would call back with the news of finding something else…
Shining and the guards searched the whole area finding Flurry’s necklace and her bracelet. Shining knew what his daughter was doing. She was following what he had told her to do. She always wore a lot of jewellery and it all had a number on it.
It was the royal family code. All the Jewels and gold the Princesses wore and the Princes all had a 6 digit number on them so if anyone ever tried to sell it jewellers would know it was stolen. The guards all knew the number as well. The border patrol checkpoints also had the number, they were require to look at each piece of highly priced jewellery if some of the royal Jewels was uncounted for. So Shining had told Flurry if something ever happened to drop a piece to show people you was there and it was working. The guy probably hadn’t realised that she was missing some of her Jewels because they had found a lot. A man then came into view and shining tackled him to the ground. He fit the man they were looking for… A normal Anthro. Searching his pockets Shining found the matching earring to Flurry’s dropped one he must have been searching for it, hoping to find it before the guards did. Realising this he cuffed the man and ordered.
“Oh your Majesty, did I take your precious little princess?” He said in mocking tone as he smiled up at Shining.
“Where is she??” Shining threatened with his fists balled ready to knock the smile off of this fuckers face.
“She is happy, now she is free away from you.” He mocked as the guards came back holding what was left of Flurry’s winter school dress. He got up giving the man to a guard as he looked over his daughter’s clothes.
“She’s unclothed! What have you done to my daughter?!” Shining shouted, shaking the man to his core as he clearly looked away to avoid Shining’s gaze.
“There was nothing else a part from this your Majesty.” The guard pulled out a knife covered in blood from behind his back. The dress was cut and ripped. Implying there was a struggle; Shining turned the dress inside out and saw a blood stain on a petty coat inside the dress. 4 guards had to actively grab Shining Armor as he dropped the dress and lunged for the man cuffed in front of him. 2 guards escorted the man back to the palace while the captain and good friend of Shining’s calmed him down.
“Shining, she could still be around here but now we need to hurry as she could be badly injured…” Shining started to break down, tears welling in his eyes as he spoke.
“That man just said that ‘Flurry is happy, now she’s away from you’ What if she’s dead!”
“Don’t give up hope… We will find her! Come on!” With that Shining wiped his eyes with new hope and support from his friend, they continued searching.
After searching and searching all buildings and warehouses. Shining feeling deflated walked out, off the empires crystal path and on to the snow. Taking a second to breath and focus his friend came up and gave him some reassuring words.
“We are close I can feel it. We will find her…”
Shining just nodded in agreement as the two hugged… as Shining went to pull away he looked up and froze… His friend let go of Shining as he looked at Shining he realised something was wrong turning around he saw her…
Princess Flurry Heart was naked and laying in the snow. After the shock had worn off Shining screamed Flurry’s name as he rushed over to her body. Frozen from the Icey snow, her body on full display for the entire world to see. All the dignity of a princess gone, all the dignity of an Athro was gone. She was represented as nothing just a corpse dumbed to freeze in the snow. Shining removed the rope from her mouth and around her neck and wrists that was tied to the back of the warehouse. No way of untying herself. No way to call for help. Naked in the frozen icy snow with a very bad knife wound to her stomach. She would have died in pain. If it had been summer she would have survived another 30 minutes to an hour. The cold had killed her quicker than the knife wound. It would have meant more pain but they could have saved her.
Shining didn’t move the guards came rushing in when they heard the scream of the King and was hit with the image of his dead daughter. Some guards tried to get Shining to move away from Flurry but he wouldn’t. He just said. “Go and get Queen Cadence.”
Cadence had arrived to see shining over a body. No guard had told her why Shining wanted her because they didn’t want to tell her and face her anger and crying in front of the empire. The guards stayed far enough away to allow the couple there space. Most had seen how they acted when the Prince was born dead. They knew to keep there distance. It was understandable that they would be upset for a lot longer than a year. It was a year and a few months when the couple had noticeably not talked about it much. But now they all knew it was going to be hard for the King and Queen.
Now they had lost their 7th conceived child and she was only 10 years of age. They had only brought 1 child successfully into the world. All the others had died in some way but the couple loved them all. That was something most didn’t know, in the private gardens of the King and queen on a wall was 5 plaques and in front of the wall was 1 grave.

And now they would have to burry another child.
Shining was able to come out the night after but Cadence only left the royal bedchambers to go and walk in her and Shining’s private garden. 4 days after Flurry’s death the couple went to sit on the grass besides the wall and talked about the fun times with flurry and what they wanted for her grave. The other days they had avoided the wall at all costs and the subject of Flurry at all costs.
