We're Going to Make Canterlot High Great Again!
Fluttershy was sitting on her bed, looking through the notecards she had written down for tomorrow. It was shortly before the end of the spring term and Canterlot High was going to have an election for Student Council President for the next coming year. Considering it wasn’t the most popular club in CHS, both she and Rarity decided to run and their friends thought either one would do the job well.
Fluttershy put her cards into her backpack and was about to turn in for the night until her phone started ringing. She picked it up right away. “Hello?”
“Good evening Fluttershy,” Rarity’s lifting voice filled her ear. “I just wanted to wish you luck for tomorrow. I hope you know that if you’re feeling nervous then I’m in the same boat.”
“Oh thank you,” Fluttershy said, smiling. “We’ll just do our best right?”
“Absolutely darling,” Rarity replied. “Let the best woman win and I just want to make it clear it doesn’t matter who wins since I think you’d make a great madam president.”
“Oh you’re too kind…and I think the same for you Rarity.”
“Well, I’ll let you go then. See you tomorrow for the debate!”
“Night Rarity.”
Fluttershy hung up and was about to tuck herself in when she looked at her phone once more. She then picked up the phone once again and went onto Twitter.
The next morning, there was definitely a buzz of excitement in the air at Canterlot High, something both Sunset and Twilight noticed as they walked into the school. “Wow, I didn’t think people would be that excited for today,” Twilight commented as they went to their lockers.
“I’m pretty sure it’s just because school’s almost over,” Sunset replied as she put her books away. “Still, at least since its Rarity and Fluttershy, the debate won’t be horribly boring.”
“That’s true,” Twilight said. “So…who are you voting for?”
“Huh?” Sunset asked. “Oh…I dunno…does it matter?”
“Of course it matters!” Twilight said. “Whoever wins is going to be leading our class next year so yes it matters!”
“I really don’t know,” Sunset asked. “I guess whoever does a better job at the debate?”
The debate was going to be held after lunch and would go on for about an hour and a half. Shortly before her first class, Sunset was hanging outside the classroom when Rainbow Dash came to her.
“Dude, did you see Fluttershy tweeted last night?” she asked.
“Fluttershy? She has a Twitter account?” Sunset asked.
“Yeah, she doesn’t use it very much but what she wrote is causing a stir among the other students.” Rainbow got out her phone and loaded up the page. “Here, take a look.” Sunset grabbed her phone and looked at the screen.

“Uh…you’re sure that’s Fluttershy?” Sunset asked.
“How many other Fluttershys do you know?” Rainbow asked.
Sunset rolled her eyes. “Well maybe she just got a little excited that’s all.”
“Excited? She’s probably quaking in fear as we speak!”
At that moment Fluttershy came around the corner and her posture showed everything but fear. Her showing confidence was rare for her. “Hello girls,” Fluttershy beamed.
“Sounds like someone’s ready to go today,” Sunset smiled.
“Oh yes, I’m definitely excited, but a little nervous too,” Fluttershy said. “I’m just glad I’m running against Rarity as opposed to anyone else.”
“I haven’t seen her yet this morning.” Suddenly Rainbow’s phone went off. “Huh…Rarity just tweeted something.”

Behold your next Student Council President!
“Okay, I think someone’s getting ahead of them-”
Suddenly the doors down the hallways opened up as Rarity came in with music blaring as she wore a blue skirt suit showing off her long legs with black high-heels. She also just happened to be escorted by two men wearing black suits and sunglasses.
“Hello Canterlot High!” Rarity yelled. “I hope you’re all fired up for today!” If not for the music, the silence would be deafening as everyone was staring at her. “Just remember a vote for Rarity is a vote for change!” She then looked to her guards and said, “That will be all guys.” The two men then left the building.
“So…you look ready for today,” Sunset commented.
“Quite so darling,” Rarity smiled. “I hope I didn’t go too overboard Fluttershy.”
“Oh not at all,” Fluttershy said. “Though maybe I could’ve gone a little bit more formal…”
“Nonsense dear,” Rarity assured her. “Be who you are, that’s how you’ll win votes.”
“Yep, just like Rarity here,” Rainbow said, rolling her eyes slightly.
“Alright, what in tarnation is going-oh of course.” Applejack had managed to run into the small parade of people now leaving the school and looked bemused as she walked up to the girls. “Shoulda figured it’d be part of Rarity’s troupe.”
“Sorry dear, but you know how much I like to-”
“Project,” Applejack interrupted her.
“Hmph. Well if you want to put it that way…by the way dear…I was wondering, if I were to win, if you wanted to be my running mate?”
“Huh?” Applejack stared at her. “Ya mean vice president?”
“Of course!”
“Wait, you guys don’t have elections for vice president or treasury?” Twilight asked.
“Nah, apparently the president chooses his or her cabinet or whatever they call it,” Applejack said.
“Huh…they certainly don’t do that at Crystal Prep…” Twilight thought.
“And how does that usually work out?” Rainbow asked.
“It…can get ugly at times.” “Especially if your president just happens to be Sugarcoat…”
Suddenly the last bell rang as students started heading to class. “Well, I guess we’ll see each other at lunch,” Applejack said. “You two make sure you’re ready for that debate.” The girls then went to their separate classes.
It certainly seemed like this wouldn’t be the worst debate anyone ever experienced, or at least that was what everyone was hoping as it appeared to dominate as the main topic on everyone’s minds. However, things were about to get more intense before the debate would even begin.
By the time lunch came around, everyone apparently was staring at the girls as they were eating, most importantly Rarity and Fluttershy.
“Hey uh…Fluttershy?” Pinkie asked. She had been absent from class due to helping set up the auditorium for the debate. “What’s with this tweet?”
“Hm?” Fluttershy asked.
Pinkie showed her her phone.

“I don’t get your point?” Fluttershy asked.
“Well…that seems kind of mean doesn’t it?” Pinkie asked.
“Oh no…it’s nothing like that,” Fluttershy said as she looked to Rarity. “We’re just having fun with it.”
“Indeed,” Rarity nodded. “It wouldn’t be nearly as fun without bumping a few elbows.”
“Well, I guess so…” Sunset said. “So Fluttershy, do you have any idea who you’d want as a vice president?”
“Hmm…I haven’t really decided yet.”
“Well you know Flutters…” Rainbow suddenly put an arm around Fluttershy’s shoulder and pulled her close. “I’m not really one to get into politics but…I might be interested in becoming VP.”
“Oh…well…” Fluttershy said hesitantly. “Actually I was thinking maybe Pinkie Pie since she’s very good at organizing things like events and meetings and stuff…”
“Aw really? Me?” Pinkie looked touched.
“Seriously?” Rainbow grumbled. “Well…fine…” Fluttershy gave her a look and brought her phone out.
About a minute later, three phones went off. Rarity, Pinkie, and Rainbow looked at their screen.

Some people in the cafeteria laughed. “What the hell Fluttershy!?” Rainbow snapped. “You gonna tweet off everything I say now!?”
“Oh calm down Dash,” Applejack said. “She’s just messing with you that’s all.”
“Are Twilight and I the only ones who don’t use Twitter around here?” Sunset asked.
“Actually I do but I don’t follow you guys apparently,” Twilight said as she pulled out her phone as well.
“Oh brother…” Sunset groaned.
Everyone’s phone went off again as Fluttershy smirked slightly. “Well played Rarity…”

“Ohh snap!” Pinkie giggled.
“Um…are you sure this is just for fun?” Sunset asked.
“Of course,” Fluttershy said. “You all know this is just for show.”
“O…kay then,” Sunset replied, not really sure how the rest of the day was going to play out.
